Finally, the Federal Railroad Administration is greenlighting expanded testing of high-tech track inspection systems as Class I railroads prepare for a major safety upgrade. The FRA recently approved a five-year waiver that lets railroads expand the use of Automated Track Inspection technology, which uses lasers, cameras, sensors, and ground-penetrating radar to scan tracks for defects. CSX plans to start using the waiver on July first, deploying the technology across over three thousand route miles, with early data showing ATI reduces track geometry defects by ninety percent in some cases. TEMPO DE REFLETIR 01768 – 18 de maio de 2026 Jeremias 2:13 – Eles Me abandonaram, a Mim, a fonte de água viva; e cavaram as suas próprias cisternas. Ainda existem lugares distantes dos grandes centros em que podemos encontrar água cristalina que desce em pequenas cascatas que vêm das montanhas. Em contraste com a água corrente, temos as cisternas. Em caminhadas mato adentro, podemos encontrar poços ou cisternas abandonados. Cisternas com água estagnada, turva, com uns poucos peixinhos tentando sobreviver. Ao redor, musgo, rãs e tartaruguinhas. Nada atraente ou chamativo, mesmo sob o sol mais causticante possível. Água da fonte ou de cisterna? Com qual das duas você prefere satisfazer sua sede? Embora o povo de Israel tivesse à sua disposição água da fonte, insistia em fazer suas próprias cisternas em rocha calcária que, devido à porosidade, não armazenava água. Não é de admirar que Deus esteja chamando a atenção de Seu povo pelas escolhas que está fazendo, dizendo: “Não aceite imitações ridículas do verdadeiro.” Deus sabe quão sedentos estamos. É Ele que tem a água que nos pode satisfazer. Tudo aquilo que procuramos para satisfazer nossa necessidade fora de Deus é uma cisterna rachada; mesmo assim, alguns continuam correndo equivocadamente em direção a essas fontes. Dentre os muitos convites que Jesus pronunciou enquanto esteve na Terra, um dos mais bonitos foi feito numa ocasião festiva, no último dia da Festa dos Tabernáculos. As pessoas que vinham assistir a essa festa, além do magnetismo do encontro com os amigos, tinham também profundos anseios de uma vida melhor. Muitos acalentavam esperança de dias melhores. No fim da festa, sem ter recebido as bênçãos que tanto desejavam, para as pessoas as cerimônias se assemelhavam a cisternas rotas. Foi a elas que Cristo Se dirigiu, dizendo: “Se alguém tem sede, venha a Mim e beba” (Jo 7:37). Jesus está dizendo hoje: “Quem beber da água que Eu lhe der nunca mais terá sede” (Jo 4:14). “O brado de Cristo ao coração sedento ecoa ainda, e apela para nós com poder ainda maior do que aos que O ouviram no templo, naquele último dia da festa. A fonte está aberta para todos. Aos cansados e exaustos, oferecem-se os refrigerantes goles da vida eterna” (O Desejado de Todas as Nações, p. 454). Reflita sobre isso no dia de hoje e ore comigo agora: Senhor: mata a minha sede, Pai! Por favor. Quero beber cada dia da Tua Palavra; beber dos Teus ensinamentos, da vida que vem de Ti. Por favor. Next, we explore the truckload sector where multimodal transportation provider Schneider National is aggressively targeting significant rate recovery during the current bid season with price renewals at the highest levels since 2021. Management is explicitly seeking mid- to high-single-digit one-way contract rate increases and double-digit increases with transactional shippers, as pricing at those accounts fell the most during the prolonged downturn. Finally, we head to the Gulf Coast where Port Houston has secured a forty-eight-million-dollar federal grant through the U.S. Maritime Administration to expand and modernize its Bayport Container Terminal. Following the retrial verdict, the two sides reached a confidential settlement that was fully covered by insurance, but the award joins a growing body of massive nuclear verdicts that demonstrate just how severe trucking liability exposure has become. Finally, we head to the East Coast to examine how the Port of Virginia is investing $1.4 billion to solidify its position as America's most modern container gateway. Interim CEO Sarah McCoy revealed that the facility has increased container volume 20% to 3.4 million TEUs since 2021, lifting it to sixth place among all American container hubs.
