I have two witnesses for you today. One is from a member of my charismatic prayer group and one is from YouTube. It is from the 700 Club. I will place a link for the video in the show notes. Both of these show how good our God is. The first witness shows how God never forgets our hearts' desires and the second one is a miraculous healing after a heart attack. Let's begin…Well, when I hit my 30th anniversary, my husband and I went to Italy. Now, when we got married, we got married in front of the Virgin Mary, the side altar, and it was just family because the wedding was too expensive for me, so that's how we did it. We did have a nice meal afterward, but it was simple. And the thing that I wanted most was to hear the Ave Maria sung by this beautiful vocalist at the church, but she was extremely expensive, so I was very disappointed. I had to forgo it because of the price. So then, when I was in Italy, we were in the dining roomOne morning, having breakfast, I kept getting this message from God to get up and to go to the next table where there was a little four-year-old boy sitting with his mother and father, and sing, Santa Claus is coming to town. And I said, well, I couldn't get over it, so it was his birthday. So I put some money in an envelope or whatever I had, and I got up, and my husband was looking at me, and when I started singing, he was like, and I was singing, Santa Claus is coming to town in this dining room with all these people sitting around. So the mother, when I finished, I gave him the envelope, and I said, Happy birthday. So the mother looked at me, and she said,Wow, that is his favorite song in the whole world. Well, okay. So that night, when I entered the big sitting room that they had in this hotel, the woman came over to me, and she said, Oh, you made my son so happy. I want to do something for you. And I said, well, unless you can sing the Ave Maria, because I happen to be thinking about it, I said, really, I'm fine. And she said, Well, as a matter of fact, I'm an opera singer, and I can sing the Ave Maria. And so I went into the dining room for the acoustic part, and she sang me the Ave Maria.Wow. Thank you, Lord. You would have missed it, had you not sung. If I had not sung Santa Claus is coming to town. What time of year is your anniversary? June. You're singing Santa Claus is coming to town in June? June 29th, almost the last day of June, yeah. And my husband was like, Are you kidding me? I would have been so embarrassed. What'swrong with you? Apparently, I don't know. Yep. You're obedient, Mary. Yep, you got what you wanted. He never forgets us. God never forgets the tiniest thing, and He rewards us for our obedience. Miraculous heart healing (CLICK HERE to watch on YouTube). As the band began to start the worship music, I stood and raised my hand in worship. And a woman that I didn't know, I had never seen her before, she walked past me, turned around, and came back and stood nose to nose with me. She said, Fear not, for the Lord your God says you will surely live and not die. I think both of us were a little concerned.Obviously, you'll live and not die. It kind of tells you something is going to happen soon. So both of us were quite concerned and just kind of, Okay, what's going to happen next? Monday came. I just didn't feel quite right. I just felt kind of out of sorts, tired, and not feeling my best. I was sitting on my sofa with my husband, and something's not right. I can't breathe. I said, I need to go to the hospital. We took her immediately to the emergency room. They came out with a wheelchair, wheeled her inside. The whole time, I'm saying to God, Have your hand on her. My vitals are slipping, and I'm saying, Lord, forgive me for everything I've ever done.Anything, Lord, that's not pleasing to you. And I saw our pastor lean down and whisper, Remember, Dale, you shall live and not die. They came back, and they said, You've had a heart attack, and it looks like a bad one. And she's going to have to have a stent put in. They did the stent, and the cardiologist said, You should be dead right now. 90% of the people who have the kind of heart attack you've had don't even make it to the hospital, or they die in their sleep at night. The heart attack was so bad that it severely damaged my heart. My heart was functioning at only about 20%. They were so worried that I could have another heart event that they fitted me with a life vest. It's actually a defibrillator that they strap around you with all kinds of monitoring devices on it.Coming back to the house was tough. The only way to get her around was in a wheelchair. My husband had to pretty much just kind of take over whatever was needed. He would not leave my side. And when we got home, every night, every night, he served me communion and prayed. I couldn't breathe. I couldn't bend over. I couldn't do anything. All I could do was just get up, go to the bathroom, and go back and lie right back down because I was terribly, terribly, terribly weak. With the amount of damage that I had in my heart, they told me, You need to get used to this life because your life as you have known it is never going to be the same. My daughter had a friend who came over to visit with me.He had gone to seminary under this well-known pastor, and he called him. He said, We have a friend, and she's had a heart attack, and her heart is severely damaged. She's very weak, and she needs a miracle. And this man said, Have her at my church Sunday morning at 930 because God is going to heal her. You know, I mean, we had to wheel her in. She was so weak. And then lifting her up, two people on each side of her, lifting her up. They lifted me out of the wheelchair, and I stood there in front of him. And when he put his hand on the top of my head, it felt like a bolt of electricity just shot through my body. And when it did, it set off the siren on my defibrillator. I mean, the noises and the bells and whistles, everything's happening, you know, and I'm thinking, What is going to happen now? And she was able to get around there and cut it off before the thing, you know, went off. It hit me right then that something special was going on here. The very next day, I had a preset appointment for a follow-up with my cardiologist. No wheelchair. He looks at me and he says, How are you doing? I said, I'm doing great. And I said, But I don't like this life vest on. I want to take it off. He said, Oh, no, you can't take off the life vest. And I said, I want another test. I want to prove to you that God healed me. After the test, he said, Take that defibrillator off because you don't need it anymore.Your heart is back to normal. He said, You've had a miracle. My heart was back to normal, but it was the low end of normal. they show us the love of God. So this young man calls that pastor back again, and he said, You have her back here Sunday morning. I think God's going to finish what he started. We wound up going back in and kicking it up a notch. He touched her, and I could tell God healed her. Then we went back to the doctor. He said these words after the test, Dale, not only is your heart back to normal, but your heart is at the high end of normal. The Lord had given me a brand-new heart, a brand-new heart. I feel better now than I did 20 years ago. I have more strength. I feel healthier than I ever did. Keep walking and keep believing and hoping and praying and hanging on to God. Sure enough, he came through. There is nothing that he can't do.I love both of these because even though they are different, www.findingtruenorthcoaching.comCLICK HERE TO DONATECLICK HERE to sign up for Mentoring CLICK HERE to sign up for Daily "Word from the Lord" emailsCLICK HERE to sign up for my newsletter & receive a free audio training about inviting Jesus into your daily lifeCLICK HERE to buy my book Total Trust in God's Safe Embrace

Send us a textIn the rolling hills of central Portugal, a tiny village named Fatima became the epicenter of one of the most profound and enduring mysteries of the Catholic faith. It was here, in 1917, that three young shepherd children—Lucia dos Santos and her cousins, Francisco and Jacinta Marto—claimed to have witnessed a series of apparitions of the Virgin Mary, later venerated as Our Lady of Fatima. These encounters, shrouded in both celestial wonder and earthly scrutiny, would go on to captivate millions, shaping Marian devotion and leaving an indelible mark on the 20th century. For believers, the messages delivered at Fatima are not just historical curiosities but urgent calls to prayer, penance, and peace—messages that resonate as powerfully today as they did over a century ago.At Journeys of Faith, we are committed to bringing the transformative power of these sacred moments to life. Founded in 1980 by Bob and Penny Lord, our ministry has spent decades guiding the faithful on pilgrimages to holy sites like Fatima, producing faith-centered resources, and sharing the stories of saints and miracles through books, multimedia, and retreats. Our mission is to make the mysteries of the Catholic faith—such as the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima—accessible for education, inspiration, and spiritual growth. Whether you've walked the hallowed grounds of the Sanctuary of Fatima or are encountering this story for the first time, we invite you to journey with us into the heart of this divine encounter, to uncover its historical roots, its spiritual significance, and the enduring call it places on our lives. Let's step back to that fateful spring of 1917, when the world was at war, and a heavenly vision offered hope to a weary humanity.Historical Context of Portugal in 1917Dive into the tumultuous backdrop of Portugal in 1917, and you'll find a nation grappling with the aftershocks of political upheaval and the grinding weight of global conflict. Just seven years prior, the country had overthrown its monarchy in the 1910 Revolution, ushering in the First Republic—a regime marked by instability, anticlerical sentiment, and a fierce push for secularization. The Catholic Church, once a bedrock of Portuguese society, found itself under siege, with religious orders banned, church properties confiscated, and clergy marginalized. For the faithful, especially in rural areas like Fatima, this was a time of quiet resistance, where devotion to Our Lady and the traditions of the Church became a refuge from a world seemingly intent on erasing them.Layer on top of that the shadow of World War I. Though Portugal had joined the Allies in 1916, the war's toll was felt deeply—soldiers sent to the trenches of Europe, families fractured, and a pervasive sense of uncertainty gripping the nation. Economic hardship bit hard, especially in the countryside, where subsistence farming was the norm, and the specter of loss loomed large. It's no coincidence that the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima, reported by three shepherd children in this unassuming village, struck a chord so profound. In a time of chaos, both national and global, the message of peace, prayer, and penance delivered by the Virgin Mary offered a lifeline—a divine promise that transcended the turmoil of the era. This was Portugal in 1917: a land caught between its past and an uncertain future, where faith became both a shield and a beacon.Link to the Rest of the ArticleOur Lady of Fatima Store Items CollectionOpen by Steve Bailey Support the show
In this NBN episode, host Hollay Ghadery speaks with author Kasia Jaronczyk about her novel, Voices in the Air (Palimpsest Press, 2025). What would drive women to risk the lives of their children and innocent people to leave their mother country forever? On April 30, 1982, two women and their families hijack a Polish passenger plane flying from Breslau to Warsaw in a bold attempt to escape Martial Law in Communist Poland and find safety in West Berlin. Among the hijackers are a cotton spinner whose husband wants to avoid a long prison sentence, a schoolteacher with a sick daughter, a pregnant fourteen-year-old who has visions of the Virgin Mary, and an ambitious young filmmaker. Inspired by real events, Voices in the Air is told from the point of view of these four women and a stewardess in love with the married pilot. Will they find happiness beyond the Iron Curtain or was the hijacking not worth the risk? Told using traditional narrative and documentary film-style interviews, Voices in the Air follows the main characters' lives before and after the hijacking, and through real-life events as the fall of the Berlin Wall, the fight for women's rights in modern Poland, the Covid pandemic and the refugee crisis on the Polish-Belarus border. A must-read novel exploring ambiguous moral choice, censorship, emigration, fate and regret. Kasia Jaronczyk is a Polish-Canadian writer, artist and microbiologist. She immigrated to Canada at the age of 14. Her debut short story collection Lemons was published in 2017 by Mansfield Press. Friends of the Rosary,Today, October 7, is the Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary. The feast was instituted to honor the Virgin Mary in thanksgiving for the Christian victory over the Turks and Ottoman Empire at Lepanto on October 7, 1571.The naval victory, which saved Europe from being overrun by Islamic forces, was a divine favor granted through the recitation of the Rosary of Mary. Pope St. Pius V and all Christians had prayed the Rosary for victory. The Feast is a great festival of thanksgiving for the signal and countless benefits bestowed on Christendom through the Rosary of our Blessed Queen, Mary Help of Christians.Across history, successive popes have urged the faithful to pray the Rosary.Pope Benedict XVI invited all families to pray the Rosary, “It is a contemplative and Christocentric prayer, inseparable from the meditation of Sacred Scripture. It is the prayer of the Christian who advances in the pilgrimage of faith, in the following of Jesus, preceded by Mary.”Saint John Paul II said, “The rosary does indeed ‘mark the rhythm of human life,' bringing it into harmony with the ‘rhythm' of God's own life, in the joyful communion of the Holy Trinity, our life's destiny and deepest longing. Through the rosary, the faithful receive abundant grace, as though from the very hands of the Mother of the Redeemer.”The Rosary is a contemplative, mental, and vocal prayer, biblically inspired, that centers on meditation on the salvific mysteries of Christ in union with Mary, and brings down God's blessing on the faithful.Ave Maria!Come, Holy Spirit, come!To Jesus through Mary! Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will. Please give us the grace to respond with joy!+ Mikel Amigot w/ María Blanca | RosaryNetwork.com, New YorkEnhance your faith with the new Holy Rosary University app:Apple iOS | New! In a season of Stillness, but I'm still here. ❤️
It is a striking fact, though often overlooked, that from the earliest days of the Church, the Virgin Mary was not merely honoured as the Mother of our Lord, but held up as the model of Christian faith itself. This wasn't because early Christians confused her with Christ, or wished to place her above Him. Rather, they saw in her something the modern world too often misses: a life fully and freely surrendered to God. Before she carried Christ in her womb, she had already welcomed Him in her heart. When the angel Gabriel came to her, he did not offer a polite suggestion. He declared a divine reality: “You will conceive and bear a son.” No theological debate, no careful exposition, only a moment of decision. And Mary's response—“Be it unto me according to thy word”—was more than agreement. It was the first, purest act of discipleship in all of Christian history. From that moment, the Church understood something profound: Mary is not the exception to the Christian life; she is its pattern.Long before St. Peter dropped his nets or St. Paul fell from his horse, Mary had already said yes to God. She believed when belief came at a cost. She trusted when she did not understand. She obeyed when the path was unclear. And when all others had fled the cross, she remained. This is why the earliest Christians honoured her—not as a goddess, not as a distant symbol, but as the first and truest disciple. They called her Theotokos, “God-bearer,” not to exalt her above Christ, but to defend the truth of the Incarnation: that God truly became man, and did so through the willing obedience of a human being.Mary shows us what it looks like when humanity is fully open to God. Not proud. Not self-sufficient. Not scrambling to control. But open. Receptive. Willing. We are not called to be her, but we are called to follow her. And most of us, it must be said, are not likely to become apostles, prophets, or martyrs. But we are all called to do what she did: to listen for the voice of God—and to respond, not with delay or demands, but with faith. If the Fall began with Eve's “no,” then redemption begins with Mary's “yes.” In that yes, history turned, Heaven touched Earth, and the Word became flesh. She did not work miracles. She did not preach sermons. She simply gave herself to God—and in doing so, gave the world its Saviour. Her faith was quiet, but unshakable. Hidden, but world-changing. And if we have eyes to see it, her life offers us not a relic to revere, but a path to walk. --- Help Spread the Good News --- Father Brian's homilies are shared freely thanks to generous listeners like you. On October 1, 911, during the reign of Emperor Leo the Wise, an all-night vigil was being held at the Blachernae Church of the Mother of God in Constantinople, with many of the faithful crowding the church. St Andrew the Fool for Christ (commemorated tomorrow, October 2) was standing at the back of the church with his disciple Epiphanius. At around four in the morning, the most holy Theotokos appeared above the people, clothed in resplendent garments, surrounded by indescribable radiance, and holding a veil in her outstretched hands, as though to protect all the people. St Andrew said to Epiphanius 'Do you see how the Queen and Lady of all is praying for the whole world?' Epiphanius replied 'Yes, Father, I see it and stand in dread.' This wonderful event is recorded in Epiphanius' life of St Andrew. Because of it, the Church keeps an annual feast on this date. Note: This feast is particularly well-loved in the Slavic churches. In 1960, the Greek church transferred its observance to October 28, in memory of the Mother of God's protection of the Greek forces holding the Albanian front against Italy in 1940. Part 17- This is the seventeenth and final installment of my first book “The Constant Procession.” Ukrainian churches during the times of the USSR were kept alive thru immigrants to North America. Last Chapter- Apparition sites offer hope for a timeless mode of being and the “constant procession” continues… Listen from the beginning- Episode 461- Part 1 NOTE: These final chapters were written before the current war between the Ukraine and Russia broke out. The time period I wrote about began in 1922 when the Ukraine was totally controlled by the USSR. In 1991, the USSR broke into the numerous independent countries that included the Ukraine. Russia became the most powerful country in the region and at that point in time. Chapter 28 continues to describe this earlier time period when Ukrainian churches were under siege during the times of the USSR's religious suppression. However, it was Ukrainian Immigrants to North America who kept them going during this suppression. The final chapter is about apparition sites where the Virgin Mary has appeared. They offer hope for a timeless mode of being for those in the constant procession... There are links, photos and more about this on my website. Pray for this war in the Middle East to end. Send us comments, suggestions and ideas here! In this week's episode we raise our eyes to the heavens and prepare ourselves to be sucked straight into God's waiting room as we investigate the unlikely modern trend which sees people from all over the world selling their cars, rehoming their pets and spending more time out doors in preparation for the rapture; an event where God's faithful ascend into heaven prior to the kick-off of Armageddon and the seven years of brutal Tribulations during the end of the world when Jesus comes back to kick Satan in the teeth. On the free side of the show we explore the modern trend as it explodes on Tik Tok before winding back the clock to see how the faithful and the Church alike have long theorized about this particular event before wrapping up what the entire thing has to do with Aleister Crowley. More than you'd think probably. In the extended show we take a look at places where the tribulations period has invaded popular culture before settling into a rather enlightening investigation into the Virgin Mary's Assumption into heaven which, at the very end, descends into Tim and Luke yelling at each other about Star Wars. Thank you and enjoy the show! Tristan Hughes is joined by Dr. Kate Lister to take us on a journey through the fascinating history of Innana, an ancient goddess of love, war, fertility, and political power. They delve into her evolution from a humble agricultural deity to one of the most powerful and complex figures in ancient mythology, revered in Mesopotamia and beyond. This one goddess influenced millennia of religious and cultural history, possibly extending even to Persephone and the Virgin Mary.MOREPersephone: Queen of the UnderworldSex Work in Pompeii with Kate ListerPresented by Tristan Hughes. Friends of the Rosary,Historically, today, September 25, is the commemoration of Our Lady of Ransom. The Blessed Virgin appeared in separate visions to St. Peter Nolasco, St. Raymond of Penafort, and James, King of Aragon, in 1218, asking them to found a religious order dedicated to freeing Christian captives from the barbarous Saracens, also known as Moors, who at the time held a significant part of Spain. On August 10, 1218, King James established the royal, military, and religious Order of our Lady of Ransom, first known as the Order of St. Eulalia, now known as the Mercedarian Order, with most of the members being knights. Many became heroes of charity who collected alms for the ransom of Christians, and often gave themselves up in exchange for Christian prisoners. This feast was extended to the whole Church by Innocent XII in the 17th century.Additionally, in England today, the Feast of Our Lady of Walsingham is observed. In 1061, the lady of the manor of Walsingham, Richeldis de Faverches, was instructed by a vision of the Virgin Mary to build in her village an exact replica of the house in Nazareth in which the Annunciation had taken place. The original house was destroyed by Henry VIII, but by 1897, the chapel had been reconstructed, and pilgrimage was restored for both Anglicans and Catholics. On March 29, 2020, England was rededicated as the “Dowry of Mary,” with Our Lady of Walsingham being the central Marian devotion around the rededication.Ave Maria!Come, Holy Spirit, come!To Jesus through Mary! Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will. Please give us the grace to respond with joy!+ Mikel Amigot w/ María Blanca | RosaryNetwork.com, New YorkEnhance your faith with the new Holy Rosary University app:Apple iOS | New! Part 16- This is the sixteenth installment of a free reading of my 1st book entitled “The Constant Procession.” You'll hear it from cover to cover in 15-minute podcast segments! Medjugorje, does not come to mind as a vacation spot. But it has inspired visiting pilgrims to spread the Madonna's words. For young people, who have not lived more than thirty years, this area of the world is typically not on their radar. For those who have lived a bit longer, there remains a dark mental imprint. A remembrance that recalls brutality inflicted on people within this region as they experienced civil war in the 1990's. Fighting caused by the breaking up of Yugoslavia. For me, the news reporting during that period of the civil war did little to help explain the confusing jumble of puzzling information that ominously included atrocities, genocide and war crimes. Yet this area is where the Madonna appeared. She offered to the world a surprising counterpoint to humanities deeds. It's amazing to me that even during that civil war, pilgrims from around the world continued to converge on Medjugorje, which seemed to be located in the middle of the warfare. There are links, photos and more about this on my website. Pray for this war in the Middle East to end. Also, Pray for the People of Ukraine. We live in a world in which people more than ever focus on physical possessions and experiences, they inter-act between themselves in all that they and others experience but, says Jesus, these are not the things that matter. We will read in Luke's gospel tomorrow – his comment that, “one's life does not consist in the abundance of(our) possessions” [12 v.15] Today's chapter (11) contains quite a number of sayings by Jesus which challenge our understanding; one is a parable (v.24-26) about an “unclean spirit” which, when it has “gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and finding none it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.' And when it comes, it finds the house swept and put in order. Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there.” Then Jesus gives the lesson the parable is teaching, he says “and the last state of that person is worse than the first”So Jesus is making a point about the human state of mind – what “possesses” the mind – the need to get rid of bad attitudes. In Luke ch. 9 we read the comment of Jesus' disciples James and John (aptly named ‘sons of thunder – Mark 3 v.17) who, when a Samaritan village did not provide for them, said “Lord, do you want us to tell fire to come down from heaven and consume them? But he (Jesus) turned and rebuked them, you do not know what manner of spirit you are of..” [v,52-55] At the beginning of the chapter we read how Jesus had sent out “the twelve and gave them power …” But now, in this situation, their spirit, that is, their attitude of mind, was wrong. So the lesson of the parable is that in getting rid of bad ways of thinking it is essential we put good ways of thinking in their place and not leave “the house” of our mind empty. Now back in today's chapter, the next verse (27) contains a very significant point. “As he said these things, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to him. ‘Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts at which you nursed!'This shows the woman's mind was focussed on physical things- but there was no lasting value in that! We can see in history the meaningless worship of the Virgin Mary for which God's word gives no warrant at all – she is dead and buried and awaits the resurrection like all other worthies who have served the Almighty; as we read in Hebrews of those who do God's will, “These all died in faith, not have received the things promised, but having seen than and greeted them from afar …” [11 v.13]Finally, notice how Jesus responded to the woman who made this comment! His answer is most significant! He said, “blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” And, wonderfully, we can read it whenever we want to! But maybe we have a “spirit” in our house that hinders this? Let us be blessed through the word of God and “keep” in our house what we read so that our minds are dominated by a right spirit. .

By request, we are looking at the Virgin Mary in this week's podcast, in particular the "dark Feminine" elements of her mythology. An exploration into Mary (or Maryam), mother of Jesus reveals various layers of her myth and the doctrines surrounding her. This includes the myth of the dying and resurrecting vegetation god, some striking parallels with Semele, mother of Dionysus, the heroic myth of the Virgin Birth and the Divine Child, and the social implications of her role in the Bible and other texts from the early Church to the medieval period.
APOSTLES CREED STUDY #6September 14, 2025I believe in God the Father Almighty,Maker of heaven and earth.I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary.He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried;he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead.He ascended into heavenand is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.KEY THEMES:1.INITIAL THOUGHTSa. b. c. Look at this section through the lens of apologetics.Unbeliever's Q: “How could a loving God send anyone to hell?”When we recognize our sin, the real question is: “How can a just, righteous, and holy God let sinful people into heaven?”d. The Person of Jesus Christ… His title, authority, divinity, andhumanity. We have examined his “resume” as Savior.e. He also experienced real suffering (passion). This section of theCreed focuses on what we call “Christ's ministry of humiliation.”f. WSC 27: Wherein did Christ's humiliation consist? “Christ'sg. humiliation consisted in his being born, and that in a lowcondition, made under the law, undergoing the miseries of thislife, the wrath of God, and the cursed death of the cross; in beingburied, and continuing under the power of death for a time.”For a full account of Jesus Christ's humiliation, read: Matthew 272.SUFFERED UNDER PONTIUS PILATEa. A jarring change of tone! From glory to suffering.b. What about His years of teaching? The Creed's focus is on theATONING work of Jesus Christ, not all his life.c. This section of the Creed answers the question: “Why was Jesusconceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary?” Tosuffer and die in our place! (The Passion of Christ)d. Why is Pilate mentioned?i. This is real history! (not a saga or parable or illustration)ii. Pilate was the “Persona Publica” – Public Office. John 19:53.CRUCIFIEDa. Crucifixion was the most agonizing and humiliating form ofexecution. It was for outcasts and the worst of criminals.b. 9/10/25 - Yvonne-Aimée of Jesus (1901–1951) was a French mystic, visionary, and Augustinian nun whose hidden holiness shook the 20th century. From a young age she experienced mystical visions of Christ and the Virgin Mary, later becoming known for miraculous healings and the powerful prayer she received from Jesus: “O Jesus, King of Love, I put my trust in Thy merciful goodness.” During World War II, she fearlessly hid members of the French Resistance and Jewish refugees from the Gestapo inside her convent, narrowly escaping arrest and torture. After the war, she became Mother Superior of the Augustinian monastery in Malestroit, where her life of heroic charity, extraordinary mystical gifts, and devotion to the Sacred Heart and Divine Mercy inspired countless souls. In this episode, we explore her visions, miracles, prophecies, and her witness of courage in Nazi-occupied France. Yvonne-Aimée of Jesus stands as a radiant example of Eucharistic devotion, Marian consecration, and trust in God's mercy amidst suffering.

CONTINUED Nathaniel Peters, The Nature of Murder and Evil in Andrew Klavan's "The Kingdom of Cain" Nathaniel Peters reviews Andrew Klavan's "The Kingdom of Cain," which explores murder and evil through fiction and real-life examples. Klavan, a former atheist, was propelled to faith by pondering evil, suggesting that recognizing objective moral order is necessary to condemn acts like those of the Marquis de Sade. The book examines Leopold and Loeb, who murdered to prove their superiority and live beyond good and evil, but left a crucial clue, highlighting their human fallibility. Klavan also considers Dostoevsky's Raskolnikov, whose rationalized yet pointless murder leads to a breakdown of his self-deception. Klavan argues artistic creation, like Michelangelo's Pietà, can redeem or transform the subject of art.
