We are playing hella mindgames in this episode of ScaryCrit, where we get lost in the trappings of the 2000s trippy thriller The Cell. This has been an episode long in the making and it makes quite a step in our #Roadto100! Bolstered by Melle's delicious passion for this underrated gem, we explore Jennifer and Vince's uncharacteristic roles, the movie essentially being two different stories, the illustration of fantasy and darkness through the mind and the mind itself being the perfect sandbox for The Cell to play with all it's weirdness in. Note: If y'all have not ever watched The Cell, we implore you heavily to please see it before listening. Seriously!Second note: Please don't hold our mispronunciations of Hercule Poirot and Gonjiam against us. Jared got the I and J mixed up and Melle's heart was in the right place. Thank you. Huang is an Emmy– and CDGA Award-winning costume designer based in Los Angeles. Known for her most recent work for “Station Eleven” and Apple TV's “The Shrink Next Door,” her other credits include “Holidate,” “Tall Girl,” and “Rim of the World” for Netflix. She also designed for FOX's “911,” NBC's “The Night Shift,” FX's “American Horror Story: Roanoke,” and MGM's “Get Shorty.” Her career began in the fashion editorial world and commercials. However, it was through scripted TV and film that she found her true calling, as it combines her love of art and storytelling. She relies heavily on historical reference, literature, and fine arts for her projects, but is greatly inspired by the study of people and cultures. Her north star, so to speak, is to draw inspiration from real life because life itself is always stranger than fiction.
The TV era of Best Villain is here and Kenny and Ben are about to realize that it is much more challenging to judge a TV villain than a TV kiss. Jeffrey Dean Morgan won for his role as iconic Walking Dead villain Negan. But is he better than the villains of American Horror Story Roanoke, Stranger Things, Suicide Squad and Get Out? Kenny and Ben get into it while also talking about how much sustained misery they can handle, a timely when it was recorded tangent on Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the incredible structure of Roanoke, cool creature design, disjointed editing, and the moment Kenny realized his summer boss in 2018 was deeply conservative. All this PLUS a special message from Negan himself PLUS a rebuttal to Negan from a friend of the show! It's a wild one y'all

Benvenuti a "Roanoke". Cercate di non sparire.

It's Thanksgiving season... What 2016 TV are you thankful for? Join us on this journey, won't you? NEWS: HBO renews "Westworld" but we have to wait until 2018 to get it "Full Frontal with Samantha Bee" has been renewed for another season and her show will move to Wednesday nights Syfy is developing Robert Heinlein’s sci-fi classic novel "Stranger in a Strange Land" to series Marvel announced their new ABC series: "Inhumans" Strong rumor has Disney eyeing Netflix as their next acquisition HBO is still pushing for a "Game of Thrones" prequel series that would be based on the story bible GRRM created -- which contains thousands of pages, apparently -- for his original series of books. A "Saved by the Bell" producer finally revealed that Jesse Spano was originally addicted to speed… not caffeine pills. S&P at NBC vetoed that notion as speed was too dark an option for a Saturday morning show. According to a CBS executive named Jim Lanzone, their new "Star Trek" series wouldn’t work on broadcast TV, saying: “Sci-fi is not something that has traditionally done really well on broadcast. It’s not impossible, for the future, if somebody figures it out. But historically, a show like "Star Trek" wouldn’t necessarily be a broadcast show, at this point.” 2016 TV MOMENTS WE’RE THANKFUL FOR: Sarah Paulson as Marcia Clark on "People v. O.J.
