Kamil Tyebally is the founder of Early Spring NYC, a company that works at the crossroads between events, culture, connection and marketing, to create immersive brand events.Kamil's is an unusual story, and he starts by telling Anne how he went from Singapore to Myanmar to Thailand in his teens, and how he first discovered that life experience could match academic performance. His early passion for taking pictures led him to follow a path in photo-journalism in NYC at first, and Kamil explains about how his father sparked his adventurous spirit, which led him to meet his future self in Mexico City and develop two book projects that took him to Algiers (Algeria) and later to Baghdad (Iraq).Coming back to NYC, Kamil landed in marketing and business development. But, he tells Anne how he was set on getting a job at the innovative Fake Love company. This mission took him on a journey to explore culture, connection, technology and empathy — where, at the end, he found himself as the co-creative for immersive experiential events at Fake Love. Kamil's artistic leanings and his keenness to find what makes people tick is neatly encompassed when he talks with Anne about creating value beyond transaction and sparking moments of connections at his events. Kamil launched his company, Early Spring, just before the start of the pandemic with the objective (and the tagline) of ‘engineering serendipity' — which he describes as finding what people need before they even know they need it themselves. The two close the conversation by discussing vulnerability, instinct and finding a connection to their roots. A wide-ranging and fascinating interview with a thoughtful entrepreneur. This episode of The Jim Stroud Show was challenging to produce due to several technical issues during recording. So much so, I could not produce it as part of my video series. Nevertheless, the information provided by my guest was so jaw-dropping amazing that I had to publish it. My guest today is IQ Rassooli, is no stranger to controversy. I have spoken to him on several occasions, and I have yet to see his face. Why? His biography will give you some insight. And this is a quote... IQ al Rassooli is a pen name to protect myself from being murdered for revealing the truth about Islam (the Cult of Muhammad). I was born in Baghdad Iraq, My mother tongue is Arabic. My parents sent me to Europe to study where I was able to access libraries and get informed. I was intrigued to find out if the Biblical names and verses in Muhammad's Quran, corresponded with those in the Bible. I was utterly shocked to find out, not only did they not correspond but they are totally wrong, misleading, and uninformative. This launched me on a 30 years of research during which I had to study and absorb not only Muhammad's Quran but also the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament. By the time I finished, I had absolutely no doubt – based entirely on the Islamic sources – that Muhammad was a charlatan and a pathological liar and most important of all, that his god Allah is most definitely NOT the same as the God of Abraham, Moses and Jesus, thus instantly discrediting Muhammad as an alleged prophet as well as the impossibility of a divinely revealed Quran. Do you now have an idea why he keeps his identity secret? Some people, quite literally, want him dead. In our time together, IQ and I discussed a LOT of things, among them were these.... China and Islam are the biggest threats to America The deadly difference between Sharia-compliant and non-Sharia compliant Muslims The history of conflict within the Islamic tradition Why muslims have more success converting prisoners in jail than Christians What are abbrogated verses? Is it true that to be a friend to Jews and Christians is to be an enemy of Islam? Did you know that the hijab is not in the Quran? And maybe most shocking of all, did you know that Putin was a Christian? Our chat went on for an hour and could have continued for twice as long. This is one episode you do NOT want to miss. Today marks the return of one of my more controversial guests - IQ al Rassooli. In this episode we dive deeper into Islam and its compatibility with American culture. Among our many talking points were the following: Why do you think Islam is the fastest growing "Cult" belief system on Earth? Muslims are most successful in converting inmates to Islam than Christians. Guess why? The Muslim persecution of Christians worldwide is expanding Christians are not reproducing children at the same rate as Muslims The purpose of Islam is to dominate via Sharia These things that are not in the Quran! Illegal immigrants are an offense to green card citizens Biden alone is turning America into a communist state! And oh, so much more... ... I participated in my first Air Assault in Baghdad, Iraq in 2006. We delivered our customers on target on time. An air assault is simply us landing near the objective and letting the infantry out of the Blackhawk to go perform combat operations. Air Assaults are adrenaline pumping nerve wrecking events. So many things can go wrong. Yet, everything can go right. For us this one and many others went right. We planned and executed flawlessly. Not because we were lucky or just good. We trained hard for this. We learned from our mistakes and didn't make them again. We took pride in this part of our mission. This is what we were meant to do. No one wants to go to war. If war is necessary, lets find, engage and destroy the enemy and come home. Doing air assaults meant we were up close and personal to accomplishing those very things. This is what we signed up to do!From Apaches providing overhead cover, to fixed wing to even an AC 130 Spectre Gunship, this mission had it all. https://www.buzzsprout.com/?referrer_id=1539260Interested in supporting me and this show? Wow! Wow! A thousand times... Wow! I had one of the most unbelievable conversations today with IQ Rassooli about Islam, the Quran, and lesser known points about the Muslim faith. As I listened to IQ, I fact-checked him in real-time and was even more surprised to verify what he was sharing. Once the podcast was officially over, I asked even more questions and included them after the outro of the podcast, so listen to the very end to hear it all. This is a partial list of what we talked about. Are Islam and sharia law compatible with American culture? Are Islam and sharia law tolerant of other religions? When Muslims claim Islam is a religion of peace and love, are they lying to the non-Muslim world? Is Islam in the process of swallowing Europe? Will Muslim immigrants assimilate? What is an infidel and what should happen to them? The origins of racism in America spawned from African slavers? And soooo much more... I said on the program that I would look for someone more qualified than myself to debate IQ on the issues he posed. (As you can hear from the podcast, I was totally ignorant of the items he shared.) Time will tell if anyone will take up the offer. In fact, for the last 12 years, IQ has had over $1,500,000 worth of challenges to any Muslim who can prove him either wrong or untrue. So far, no takers and no Muslim willing to debate him. Once again, wow. Hottest News Predictions – Pope Francis in Baghdad (Iraq) – In Rome are prepared for a new Pope , there are unrest and they want the Election of a new Pope – Clairvoyant reading / Psychic predictions March 6 , 2021 – by Clairvoyant House “Dimitrinka Staikova and daughters Stoyanka and Ivelina Staikova ” – from Europe , Bulgaria , Varna http://clairvoyantdimitrinkastaikova.weebly.com http://clairvoyant-dimitrinka-staikova.mystrikingly.com https://dimitrinkastaikova.wordpress.com http://sites.google.com/site/dimitrinkastaikova Photo : March 5 , 2021 Time – after the photo Pope Francis ‘s health: At March 6 , 2021 he feels pain at the back of the head ( At left) , strong inflammation of the spine and the tailbone. The pelvic area at left – he had a treatment – the whole left pelvic area + the spine and the waist – I see pain and treatment by two people. In the moment , Pope Francis is raising high blood pressure, also at the back of the head at right. I see intensive contractions of the muscles under the right armpit. He has light pain in the both eyes , but the pain is more intense in the left eye. The pain is reaching the left ear , because of tightening of the blood vessels. I see very strong energy centers in the heart ( painful ) , in the urinary tract and at the pelvic area. He will have problems with the large intestine. In the belly – there are two different energy movements – the one against the other – that will affect the large intestine. His body organs are as closed , tightened : heart , prostate , liver , lungs , belly. I see emptiness above the heart. Pope Francis is taking his trip in Iraq as a preparation for Elections. I see three people in the center of the Vatican power. Only one of them is staying next to Pope Francis. There are upcoming important decisions in Iraq – they are connected with war , death, uniting of races – two different races of people. The key is in a creature found in Iraq – it has learned how to replicate ( how to multiplies ). It's blood is healing , but infected with a special type of bacteria. Pope Francis is seeking for his own treatment and he wants to know the plans -are they reaching to greatness? During his Iraq tour , the Pope is boiling from anger , from pain and outrage – because of his own cardinals. He is bringing a gift to Iraq which is an ancient artifact and previous property to this creature. How happens the reproduction of the creature ? In a laboratory conditions – the cell is separated to two parts and placed inside babies. In the babies – the cell is changing their DNA and later ( until the puberty ) – is showing the creature. I see the infusion of black blood inside the Pope , but his body will reject it. There is an upcoming process of treatment accompanied by sleeping ( as a coma ) and awakening. It starts from ten days after his Iraq tour – until one month is the heavy moment. I see Pope Francis to pay a lot of money for that medical procedure , but he is too weak to endure the attacks – the power of the disease. In Rome are prepared for a new Pope. There are unrest and they want the Election of a new Pope. In the twelfth episode of this Podcast Series about the Battle of Sadr City on April 4th, 2004, I sat down with Angel Munoz Army Veteran and sister of Robert Arsiaga who was killed April 4th, 2004 in Baghdad Iraq. Angel's youngest brother Jeremy Arsiaga was a Marine Corps Veteran and died by suicide on September 4th, 2015. This is her story. For Angel, Losing one brother to combat was a painful and tragic loss. Lossing another to suicide seemed insurmountable. It took an incredible amount of courage and vulnerability to share this story. But she does in hopes that others will relate and find a way to finally talk about it. 05APR2003: Serving as a tank commander with A/1-64 Armor during the invasion of Iraq in 2003, SSG Stevon Booker and his unit were tasked with conducting a raid to test the remaining enemy defenses. The attack, later known as the "Thunder Run" began south of Baghdad with aims of moving through main roads until they reached the newly secured airport. SSG Booker and his crew were in the midst of this operation when they were engaged on multiple sides by enemy small arms and RPG fire. Booker opened the hatch and began firing his mounted machine gun at the numerous dismounted enemy elements at close range. Before long, his machine gun malfunctioned as the enemy forces pushed closer. Without hesitation, SSG Booker crawled out of his hatch, laid on top of the tank and began engaging targets with his rifle. As enemy elements attempted to maneuver into striking position, SSG Booker destroyed one after the other, helping to protect his column of tanks. As the column continued forward, SSG Booker remained in the prone position, completely exposed to the steady stream of enemy fire in order to ensure any dismounted targets were destroyed. After fighting this way for five miles, SSG Stevon Booker was struck and killed by enemy fire but his heroic act helped to ensure the armored element was able to complete the raid and link up with friendly units at the airport. For his actions that day, SSG Stevon Booker would be awarded, posthumously, the Distinguished Service Cross.
** Apologies in advance for the bad sound at the beginning. Looks like my new soundboard set up is not going to cut it ** Republican Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell has held up an agreement on a new COVID-19 relief package saying that he will not pass a bill without a “liability shield” for employers. However, Republicans can’t agree with themselves and have failed to reach an agreement as expanded unemployment benefits expire today and the moratorium on evictions expired last weekend. The Democratic National Committee passed a platform this week that they are touting as the “boldest Democratic platform in American history.” Scratch the surface of that talking point, though, and you learn that they refused to back Medicare for All; would not back marijuana legalization; refused to call for the end of qualified immunity for police officers; poo-pooed a federal jobs guarantee; passed on a comprehensive plant for implementing a Green New Deal; and, scoffed at placing conditions on aid to Israel. Following Attorney General Barr’s House testimony, Federal troops are being withdrawn from Portland after they brutally suppressed protests since the beginning of July. The Washington Post reported yesterday that the Department of Homeland Security compiled “intelligence reports” on American journalists covering the Portland protests. Frustrated? Want to get back to “normal” news stories? Ok, try these on for size: Baghdad Iraq hit a record-shattering 125 degrees on Tuesday. On Monday the temperature was 123 and on Wednesday it was 124. The electricity grid began to fail and two protesters were shot dead by security forces during protests over a lack of electricity and basic municipal services. Can’t stand the heat? Well, about a quarter of Bangladesh is flooded after torrential rains have wreaked havoc on the nation that was pummeled by a cyclone just two months ago. More than a million homes are underwater, 4.7 million people are affected, and at least 54 people - mostly children - lost their lives. One more? According to a new study published Thursday in the journal Scientific Reports, up to 171 million people today face the risk of coastal flooding from extreme high tides and storm surges. Pennsylvania saw an additional 860 new positive coronavirus cases, bringing the slow, but steady increase in cases to 111,078. 04APR2003: Two weeks into the invasion of Iraq, SFC Paul Smith was found himself just outside Saddam International Airport tasked with setting up a hasty enemy prisoner of war detention area. His team found a triangular shaped courtyard that would do the trick and they set about checking for enemy soldiers in the area. One end of the courtyard had a metal gate and as soon as some of Smith's Soldiers neared the gate they noticed a substantial enemy force moving on their position. Fire erupted as they notified the rest of their team who were now running to take up defensive positions. Identifying upwards of 100 Iraqi soldiers, SFC Smith called on a nearby Bradley Fighting Vehicle to ram the gate and begin engaging targets. Three M113 Armored Personnel Carriers arrived and joined in the fight with their .50 caliber machine guns to support Smith and his men. Before long, one APC was hit wounding the crew of three. Running low on ammunition, the Bradley was forced to disengage in order to resupply away from the fight. The damaged APC now served as the only heavy machine gun to defend the position. With Iraqi fighters occupying and firing from a nearby tower, Smith's men now faced fire from at least three directions. Recognizing that a retreat could roll up the larger American position, SFC Smith manned the APC machine gun and directed the driver to position the vehicle so he could alternate fire between three enemy strongholds. From the tower to the gate to the walls and back, SFC Smith stood steady at his machine gun repelling an enemy force of over 100. As the battle ended, Smith's machine gun fell silent and he was found dead at his position having suffered thirteen separate bullet wounds in the engagement. SFC Paul Smith's actions allowed his team to hold on in the face of an overwhelming enemy force. His continuous machine gun fire stopped a strong enemy attack in their tracks and saved the lives of countless American Soldiers. For this, SFC Smith would be posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.

0:08 – The US escalation on Iran and the killing of a commander happened through a targeted airstrike near the Baghdad airport, in Iraq. Days later, the Iraqi Parliament voted to expel US troops from Iraq, and to “end the presence of any foreign troops on Iraqi soil.” That means both US and Iran, and it may signify a growing anti-imperialist movement. Raed Jarrar is an Iraqi-born human rights activist and writer based in Washington, D.C. His most recent piece in Truthout is titled “Iraq's Vote to Kick Out U.S. Troops Reflects Growing Anti-Imperialist Movement.“ 0:34 – Kayla Moore was killed by Berkeley Police in 2013. The officers were never charged, and the family sued. In 2018, a judge ruled there was insufficient evidence to prove discrimination. But now Moore family is headed back to court of appeals on Jan 9 for oral arguments. The family wants the City of Berkeley to overhaul it's mental health response policies, and provide care instead of police. Maria Moore is the sister of Kayla Moore, who was killed by Berkeley Police in 2013, and a mental health reform advocate. Adante Pointer is an attorney with John Burris Law, and legal council for the Moore family. 1:08 – Shortly after President Trump ordered the targeted assassination of an Iranian commander via an airstrike outside the airport in Baghdad Iraq, escalating major tensions with Iran, the Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Patrol began detaining and questioning Iranians and Iranian-Americans at the border. Some were held and questioned for hours. The agency has denied the reports. But advocacy groups have activated legal support and are loudly denouncing the detentions and violation of civil rights. Zahra Billoo is an attorney and the Executive Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, San Francisco Bay Area Chapter (CAIR-SFBA). 1:34 – Series Premiere: Unmasking America Shaun Assaels is a New York Times best-selling author, magazine writer and investigative journalist, as well as a sometime television correspondent. In this talk, Steven goes back to the Bible, Noah, and the story in Genesis about how, after the Flood, the first people's spread across the Earth and how it relates to current times and politics. Noah had three sons whose offspring set off to different parts of the world, but few people realize who these people are. Shem traveled down from Eden to Ur near modern Baghdad (Iraq) and for 8 generations his descendants his family grew until Abraham was famously called by God (Yahweh) to travel to Canaan. Abraham had two sons, Ishmael traveled to Arabia and became the father of the Arabic people. Isaac the Hebrew. Ham traveled South through the Levant to Africa, his descendants became the Canaanites, Philistine or Palestinian people (who Abraham met when he arrived in today's Israel). The third son, Japhet, traveled northerly and then into Europe and one branch became the Ashkenazi Jew (but their descendants did not come from Juda so are technically not Jews). These are the sect that created the state of Israel. Another diaspora created additional migrations to Europe, most of which went to Moorish Spain where they were called Sephardic. Understanding these relationships helps us understand the politics of our day, and the changes that are coming. www.StevenSadleir.com

This week, we present two stories of adapting to survive, from a cancer survivor's creative solution to the after-effects of his treatment to an Iraqi who becomes a computer scientist to survive the war. Part 1: Ben Rubenstein survived cancer, but now there are new challenges to contend with. Part 2: A young Iraqi computer scientist must adapt to survive war and its aftermath. Benjamin Rubenstein is the author of the "Cancer-Slaying Super Man" books and other personal essays. He speaks about personal health, feeling superhuman, and the urge when he's intoxicated to eat jelly beans--all of them. The two items he brings with him everywhere are a flask and gum, particularly Juicy Fruit or Big Red because those have sugar instead of sorbitol. Benjamin doesn't fuck around with weird chemicals (excluding whatever is in cheap whiskey). Benjamin loves inspiring others through a combination of insane stories of survival and attempted humor. Abbas Mousa is an Economist at the Bureau of Economic Analysis. growing up in Baghdad Iraq he always wanted to be an artist but ended up with a Computer Science and Economic degrees, he's been featured on the Moth Radio Hour on NPR, and with his passion for art and storytelling he became a regular storyteller with the Moth StorySlam. Ryan Miller medically retired as a Captain from the US Army in 2012 due to severe wounds he received in Iraq, which ultimately led to the amputation of his left leg. After becoming dependent on opiate painkillers throughout his recovery he now advocates for cannabis use. Ryan graduated with a degree in Nuclear Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and earned a masters degree in both business administration and public policy from Harvard. I met Ryan while in Pittsburgh at the World Medical Cannabis Convention and Expo for my interview with Eben Britton. I felt an immediate connection to Ryan when I walked up to him at the C.A.M.O. booth and he began to educate me on the many benefits that cannabis and hemp have to offer to the world. It wasn't until later on in our conversation that I found out the he was wearing a prosthetic leg under his jeans. Ryan grew up in Staten Island, NY and defined himself as a football player at Stuyvesant High School, which he described as a school full of overachievers. As a fellow fullback/linebacker, Ryan was never afraid of a little contact. During this episode, Ryan takes us through some moments of his high school glory days including a play where he suffered a compression sprain of his spine and forced him out of the remainder of that game. Besides that injury, Ryan stayed relatively healthy and surgery-free until the wounds he suffered on the battlefield during his military career. "All your live's have just changed dramatically, That said, we have to lab, we have to execute." In addition to his influential uncle, Ryan decided to attend The United States Military Academy at West Point as a way to further differentiate himself from his high school classmates who were going on to Harvard, Yale, etc. Ryan started at West Point in the Fall of 2001 and one of my favorite parts of this interview was when he described what the atmosphere was like on campus on 9/11. Ryan's high school football team practiced on a field that was literally in the shadows of the World Trade Center, so seeing the planes crash into the buildings obviously hit home hard. Ryan had just gotten back from the pharmacy and made his bed for AMI (morning inspection). While walking to class, he heard someone say something about a plane hitting the World Trade Center. Ryan's initial thoughts were that it must have been a small plane. When he got to class one of his teachers had the tv on, and told the class "all your live's have just changed dramatically. That said, we have to lab, we have to execute. Ryan says that sense of normalcy around campus was everywhere. “He (Professor) was almost planting the seed...Hey we just went on convoy and lost the most beloved member of the platoon, we have to go back out there and execute tomorrow." I eventually asked Ryan how he ended up going into Infantry after majoring in nuclear engineering. His answer was interesting in that he said it was quasi peer pressure at West Point. I believe the dynamics of this peer pressure is similar to the pressures that exist in sports which serve as the foundation of the culture of toughness. Although addressing the influence of peer pressure on his decision, Ryan doesn't regret his decision at all. Ryan was in southern Baghdad, on a high profile mission reassessing the most recently cleared section of the city on October 18th 2007. He was in a Stryker unit, which is an armored personnel carrier. These vehicles are really cool and I included a series of videos below to explain their varying capabilities. At that time in southern Baghdad the biggest threat were houses that were rigged to explode. However, it was a roadside bomb that hit the Stryker unit, which led to Ryan's injuries (severe damage to left leg, shrapnel wounds to the organs in his torso). Ryan goes into detail in these moments, and nothing I write in this post will give that story justice, so make sure to give this episode a listen! (U.S. Air Force photo by Master Sgt. Juan Valdes) According to Ryan, in 2007 the best place to have a traumatic injury was Baghdad Iraq because it had the highest survival rate. Despite the severe wounds to his left leg, he was able to salvage his limb for 3 years after the accident and worked with a future podcast guest, Johnny Owens in the process. We discuss what went into the decision to amputate and you might be surprised to learn that it wasn't anything he lost sleep over. This was because of the lack of functionality Ryan had with his limb and he remembers other people with prosthetics running circles around him. Prior to his injury, Ryan weighed 230 pounds and was running a sub 12 minute 2 mile. Like our man Chris Norton, Ryan advises wounded veterans and injured athletes to not compare yourself to who you were in the past. Ryan also recommends finding a group that challenges you in your recovery and beyond. These pieces of advice came from Ryan's struggles throughout his recovery, particularly while in grad school at Harvard where the degradation of his performance was most glaring for him. Based on Ryan's academic credentials, its safe to assume that he was an absolute rock start in school, especially after graduating near the top of his class at West Point. However, while at Harvard, Ryan remembers struggling academically, which he believes might have had something to do with the traumatic brain injuries on the battlefield and the opiate use while rehabbing to save his leg. Lacking a peer group after his injury and physically being in a lot of pain led to a lack of social interaction that could have been beneficial in his recovery. Although most people assume Ryan used cannabis to get off pain killers, it was actually the rehab done at The Center for The Intrepid that did it. Despite being strongly against marijuana in high school, he tried it recreationally while in grad school and noticed the positive affects it had on his mood and restless leg syndrome. Eventually Ryan moved out to California and began advocating for Cannabis to help other veterans kick their addictions to pain killers because he believes that has a lot to do with the high suicide rates among veterans. Check out some of the organizations listed below that Ryan is involved with. Lastly, Ryan lives his definition of toughness day in and day out. To Ryan, toughness is being vulnerable enough to see all sides of an issue and take a stand for what you know is right after educating yourself on the topic at hand. Marijuana and cannabis as a whole have been demonized for decades and by listening to Ryan, a West Point and Harvard graduate, we get a different perspective that has the power to cultivate a new image they may have a positive affect in the world of sports.
