The Patriarchy Podcast | Race, Immigration, and the Church – A Biblical Response with Pastor Gavin Beers The world says race doesn’t matter… until it does. DEI. White guilt. CRT in the pulpit. Globalist immigration agendas. Kinism creeping into Christ’s church. Meanwhile, most pastors won’t touch this topic with a ten-foot shepherd’s staff. Not here. In this hard-hitting episode, Pastor Joseph Spurgeon sits down with Pastor Gavin Beers to take a biblical and paleoconservative look at the issues of race, nationhood, immigration, kinism, and segregation in the church. We’re not woke. We’re not color-blind. And we’re not silent. This conversation tackles the tough topics with clarity, courage, and biblical conviction. Topics Covered: ✅ Why color-blind evangelicalism fails✅ Race and ethnicity: Are they real?✅ What the Bible actually says about nations and borders✅ Immigration: biblical principles vs. modern chaos✅ Kinism and the dangers of racial determinism✅ Can you love your people without sin?✅ The Gospel’s power to redeem—not erase—ethnic identity✅ Why the church must reject both globalism and segregation✅ How pastors must shepherd in a racially divided age✅ Cultural superiority vs. racial supremacy✅ What the Bible says about the curse of Canaan (and what it doesn’t) Timestamps: 00:00 – The Cultural Landscape and Its Challenges02:54 – Understanding Race and Nationhood06:06 – Biblical Perspectives on Immigration09:05 – Natural Law and Its Implications11:46 – The Role of Culture in Race and Ethnicity15:07 – The Gospel's Impact on Ethnic Identity18:02 – Kinism: A Controversial Perspective20:56 – Navigating Borders and National Identity47:30 – Curses and Blessings: The Lineage of Nations50:13 – The Misinterpretation of Biblical Texts53:25 – Race, Culture, and Historical Context56:28 – Cultural Superiority vs. Racial Supremacy01:01:10 – The Role of the Gospel in Cultural Change01:04:07 – Segregation and the Church's Response01:10:35 – Authority and the Nature of the Church01:14:18 – Pastoral Guidance in a Divided Culture01:20:33 – The Globalism Challenge and Local Sovereignty The Statement on Natural Affections:https://natural-affections.com/ Sermons from Pastor Gavin Beers:

Welcome to the School of Ministry podcast, where we delve into important questions about prayer and explore John chapter 9 and Matthew chapter 7. In this episode, we examine whether God hears the prayers of all people, including children and those who haven't been saved. We analyze different Biblical passages to illustrate how God listens and responds to various prayers throughout history. Join us and gain insights from the stories of Jonah, Hagar, Cornelius, and others to demonstrate God's willingness to hear prayers from anyone that reaches out to Him.  Consider misconceptions surrounding prayer by emphasizing that God can and does work beyond human limitations and constraints. Through these passages, we highlight the importance of coming to God with a childlike faith and aligning our petitions with His will. This discussion encourages believers to boldly approach God with confidence and underscores the omnipresence and grace of God in responding to our needs.

The conversation also touches on the Great Commission's implications for immigration policy, the impact of entitlement programs, and how Christians can care for sojourners while balancing compassion with legal responsibilities. ▶ Splash Page: https://i.mtr.bio/biblebashed ▶ Rumble: https://rumble.com/c/BibleBashed ▶ YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMxYyDEvMCq5MzDN36shY3g ▶ Main Episode's playlist: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLtY_5efowCOk74PtUhCCkvuHlif5K09v9 ▶ Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/BibleBashed ▶ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BibleBashed ▶ Twitter: https://twitter.com/BibleBashed Takeaways Christians must consider the biblical perspective on immigration. Emotional manipulation is often used in discussions about deportation. There are biblical instances where empathy should not dictate actions. Law and justice play a crucial role in immigration policy. The Great Commission influences how Christians view immigration. Entitlement programs complicate the immigration debate. Christians have a responsibility to care for their own first. Caring for sojourners should not equate to open borders. Compassion must be balanced with legal obligations. Takeaways The Bible encourages honoring older men in the faith. Memeing respected figures can be seen as a form of rebuke. Context matters when discussing controversies in faith. Age and authority should influence how we communicate. Mockery may not be the best response to perceived wrongs. Faithful service over the years should be acknowledged. Understanding the generational divide is crucial in discussions. Seeking clarity in conflicts can lead to better outcomes. Wisdom often resides with those who have more experience. Dialogue is essential for resolving misunderstandings. Online criticism should be approached with caution and respect. Humor can be a tool for critique, but it should not demean others. Respect for elders is a biblical principle that should guide interactions. Disagreements with elders require a careful and respectful approach. Understanding the perspective of older individuals can lead to better communication. It's important to consider the wisdom that comes with age. Younger individuals should be open to correction from their elders. The Bible provides guidelines for how to interact with authority figures. Maintaining a humble posture in discussions is crucial. PART TWO:6. Believers suffer as a testament of faith to others (Hebrews 11 – Living by Faith: “Now without faith, it is impossible to please God, since the one who draws near to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him”). 7. God allows people to suffer so they will turn to Him in repentance and not perish for eternity (Luke 13:1-4 – Two Options…Repent or Perish: Jesus said in verses 3 & 5 – “I tell you, unless you repent, you will perish as well”). 8. Christians suffer so they can be conformed more closely to the character of Christ (Romans 8:28-30, James 1:2-4 – “Consider it a great joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing”). 9. Believers suffer so they can know Christ more fully (Philippians 3:10 – “My goal is to know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings, being conformed to his death, assuming that I will somehow reach the resurrection from among the dead”). 10. To prepare followers of Christ for the glory of Heaven (2 Corinthians 4:17 – “For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory”).

The conversation also explores historical perspectives on the church-state relationship and offers insights for Christians navigating today's political landscape.   Get the Book on Following Jesus in a Politically Divided World: https://a.co/d/35XLxSE    Key Takeaways 00:00 Introduction and Greetings 00:11 Biblical Purpose of Government 02:04 Christian Submission to Authority 02:54 Ideal Government vs. Reality 04:40 Human Nature and Government 06:25 Key Biblical Texts on Government 16:24 Historical Church-State Relations 25:25 Temptations in Church-State Dynamics 27:20 Conclusion and Final Thoughts   Check out RENEW.org for more articles and resources: https://renew.org/   View more information about this topic here: https://renew.org/product/following-jesus-in-a-politically-divided-world-an-interactive-guide-to-21-questions-on-christianity-and-politics/    See below for a more comprehensive discussion of this topic:  In this episode, Daniel McCoy and John Whittaker explore the biblical perspective on government. They discuss how scripture guides our understanding of governance, touching on the roles of church and state and the purpose of government. Daniel and John start with a chat about whether the Bible addresses the purpose of government. John argues that while the Bible doesn't lay out a full political philosophy, it does suggest that government's role is to restrain evil and promote good. This idea serves as a foundation for their discussion. They dive into a hypothetical about governments that overstep their bounds, suggesting that a biblical view would oppose both anarchism and totalitarianism. John agrees, noting that the New Testament expects Christians to respect and honor governing authorities. John explains that ideally, human government would reflect God's kingship. Since the world is flawed, we need human authorities to curb evil and promote well-being. This theme of human depravity and the need for governance is central to their discussion. They highlight key biblical texts like Romans 13 and 1 Peter 2. Romans 13 emphasizes that all authority is from God and that resisting authority is opposing God's ordinance. Rulers are seen as God's servants who should promote good and punish evil. 1 Peter 2 also instructs believers to submit to human institutions, reinforcing that authorities are meant to deter evil and reward good. The conversation then shifts to how these teachings impact political leaders and citizens. John and Daniel argue that leaders should craft policies that foster human flourishing and limit wrongdoing. Citizens should evaluate candidates based on biblical values. John advocates for smaller government, warning against expanding power and its burdens, echoing warnings from ancient Israel. They discuss four historical models of church and state relations: medieval synthesis, complete opposition, reformed transformation, and evangelistic conversion. They illustrate these models and their implications. John warns against trying to recreate past church-state dynamics in America. He cautions against the idea of “taking back America for God” through politics, urging Christians to focus on living out their values and transforming culture through the gospel instead. Finally, they address when Christians might disobey the government. John frames this within a biblical context, arguing that disobedience is justified only when obeying the government means disobeying God. Historical examples like Daniel and the apostles support this view, reinforcing that loyalty to God comes first. Throughout, they stress the importance of praying for leaders and governance that supports the church's mission. They reference 1 Timothy 2, encouraging prayers for peaceful and godly living to further the church's work. In summary, this episode provides a biblical framework for understanding government, emphasizing the divine origin of authority, the role of government in restraining evil and promoting good, and how Christians should respond to governance. Have you ever heard this statement or something like it? It's a catchy quote attributed to Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. in the late 1800s, and many years later, in 1977, was embodied in a popular Johnny Cash song titled “No Earthly Good". A listener to the podcast has heard this phrase over the years and has written to us seeking to better understand what it really means. Aren't Christians called to be heavenly-minded?  Is it actually possible to be so heavenly-minded that they do no earthly good? Can Christians even be too heavenly-minded? That is the topic for this week's Straight Truth Podcast with Dr. Richard Caldwell and Dr. Josh Philpot. Join us and listen to the conversation as they seek to help us gain insight and understanding into what might be meant when someone uses this now widely familiar turn of phrase.Dr. Caldwell says if we begin by defining the phrase- heavenly-minded, according to the Scriptures, then the answer is no, a Christian cannot be too heavenly-minded. But, if we try to define what some people mean by describing someone as so heavenly-minded that they are no earthly good, it's possible that what they mean is the person has an over-realized eschatology. This would be someone who responds to time and eternity in a manner that God never intended.  This is a circumstance where a believer knows they are headed to eternity, knowing that Jesus could come any day, and that is all they care about and are focused on. That would be an unbiblical response to the truths that God has given us about the return of Christ and about eternity. An example of this kind of living would be someone who sort of lives their life with their head in the clouds, so to speak, where they are not taking care of the things here on the earth that God has also assigned to His people. We find a most likely example of this in 2 Thessalonians 3, where Paul writes about some believers who had stopped working. But, in terms of being heavenly-minded and living in obedience to God's Word right now where we are on earth, and in light of eternity (with it always in view), that's absolutely biblical. That is what Christians are called to do; it's a matter of Christian obedience.

We are in the thick of that season as we prepare to vote this November, just three months away. It seems that we hear the news media increasingly telling us that this is the most significant election of our lifetimes, where the constant refrain is that if so and so is not elected or if this party is not elected, it will lead to the destruction of democracy or the loss of certain liberties we have as Americans. Dr. Josh Philpot shares that this year feels as though it's more consequential than previous years. He asks Dr. Richard Caldwell if he would talk briefly to the listeners of the Straight Truth Podcast about some of these things. He also asks Dr. Calwell to share how consequential an election like this might be within a biblical worldview.   Dr. Caldwell believes this year's election is going to be very consequential. During his nearly 61 years of life, he has seen a significant change in this country, especially concerning its moral atmosphere. This is witnessed in a nation or a society where God removes His restraining grace from them and gives people over to their sinfulness. There's this downward plunge into darkness and destruction where insanity sets in. Dr. Caldwell believes we've reached that place in our culture, and he shares examples of the kinds of moral insanity we are experiencing. Therefore, our country is different, and as we've descended into this moral insanity, we've lost touch with what made this nation what it once was. Our Founders were in touch with the idea that our Creator afforded certain freedoms and rights to people just by virtue of their existence. But we're heading dangerously towards socialism, communism, or even Marxism, very dangerous ideologies, systems of governments that have had disastrous results where they have taken root in the history of the world. Dr. Caldwell says when we see our country headed in this direction, he believes that elections really matter.

Hey there, it's Jason!Today's episode is a bit different. There's no polished introduction, and I'm flying solo without Gary. But it's special because it's centered around someone who holds a profound place in my life - Greg Smith. This is an audio of him preaching the celebration of life service for his beloved late wife, Carol.Let's journey back to 1992. I was lucky enough to cross paths with Greg Smith during a mission trip to Cancun, Mexico, an experience organized for our high school graduating class. It was there where Greg had devoted many years of his life to serving the people of Cancun.Though our time together was brief, life had other plans for us. The whirlwind of my youth and the absence of social media meant we lost touch. I was just a young, clueless 18-year-old then, with a lot to learn.Time flew, and I found my calling. My first immersive experience was at a language school in Costa Rica. From there, my journey took me to Venezuela for four soul-enriching years, and now, my heart has found its home in the Dominican Republic. God, with His mysterious ways, reconnected me with Greg. Was it through Facebook? Honesty, I don't remember. Our conversations moved from typed words to video chats, eventually becoming our cherished weekly tradition. We dive deep into discussions about language, culture, and, above all, our faith in Jesus.I'm grateful to have Greg as not just a friend but also as a guiding mentor in my life. His wisdom is unparalleled. If there's one thing I'd want for all of you, it's to have a friend like Greg. Someone who doesn't just speak about the gospel but embodies it in every action, every thought, every breath.I offer this episode as a source of challenge and encouragement. It touched the deepest corners of my heart, and I hope it does the same for you. Don't just preach the gospel; live it!

Dr. Caldwell emphasizes that while the New Testament acknowledges cultural and ethnic differences, what's paramount is the unity of believers in Christ. He believes the church should prioritize biblical teachings over intentional diversity efforts and stresses the importance of viewing everyone as created in God's image. When questioned about leadership diversity and visitors' concerns over representation, Dr. Caldwell underscores the need for scriptural adherence and spiritual regeneration, highlighting unity in Christ as the ultimate goal.
