An herb sachet is basically a little pouch of magick ✨It's something I've done in my witchcraft practice (and honestly even before I realized I was a witch) for a longgg time because it's so easy, so customizable, and very rarely, if ever, is it something that requires items outside of what you already have available to you at home. Today we'll talk about the times in my life I'm making an herb sachet spell, plus tons of ideas, tips, and reminders for using herbs, crystals, symbols, and more into your own little magickal pouches.→ In this episode I mention:Last week's Magickal Herbalism episode Llewellyn's Book of Correspondences by Sandra Kynes ★|| T H E N E I G H B O R H O O D ||Watch full episodes on my YouTube channel! My relationship with herbs goes back even further than when I started practicing intentional witchcraft. Long before I started learning about their metaphysical properties or their medicinal qualities, I was playing around with their flavors in cooking and teas. It was my budding magickal practice that formally introduced me to their energetics, a door-opener I think many, many witches are presented with. And so today's episode of That Witch Podcast is to formally introduce you to the magick of herbalism and what role this can play in your own lifestyle. We'll discuss what defines an ‘herb,' what is ‘herbalism,' and most importantly, what are the different ways you can partner with these botanical heroes as a modern with and energy practitioner. In this episode I mention:Anima Mundi Herbals Mountain Rose Herbs A Box of Magick by Jamie Della The many works by Rosemary Gladstar Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Magickal Herbs by Scott Cunningham Llewellyn's Book of Correspondences by Sandra Kynes ★|| T H E N E I G H B O R H O O D ||YouTube: That Witch Next DoorEmail Newsletter: thatwitchnextdoor.comInstagram: @thatwitch.nextdoorTikTok: @thatwitch.nextdoorPinterest: @thatwitchdaniContact: thatwitchnextdoor.com/conjurethatwitch

Heaven and Hell 38. He who does not know how degrees are related to Divine order cannot comprehend how the heavens are distinct or even what is meant by the internal and the external man. Most people in the world have no other idea of what is interior and what exterior, or of what is higher and what lower, than as something continuous or coherent by continuity from what is purer to what is grosser. But the relation of what is interior to what is exterior is not continuous but discrete. There are two kinds of degrees, those that are continuous and those that are not. Continuous degrees are related like the degrees of the waning of light from a bright blaze until it is obscured, or like the degrees of the decrease of vision from objects in the light to those in the shade, or like degrees of purity of the atmosphere from its depths to its highest point. These degrees are determined by distances. [2] On the other hand, degrees that are not continuous but discrete are distinguished like prior and posterior, like cause and effect or like what produces and what is produced. Whoever looks into the matter will see that in each and all things in the whole world, whatever they are, there are such degrees of producing and compounding, that is, that from one thing comes another, and from the other a third and so on. [3] One who does not acquire for himself a perception of these degrees cannot possibly discern the distinctions of the heavens, nor between the interior and exterior faculties of man, nor the distinction between the spiritual and the natural world, nor between the spirit of man and his body. So neither can he understand the nature and source of correspondences and representations nor what influx is. Sensual men do not apprehend these distinctions, for even where these degrees are concerned, they make increases and decreases to be continuous. Therefore, they cannot have any conception of what is spiritual otherwise than as a purer natural. Consequently, they stand outside, and are far removed from intelligence. Arcana Coelestia 880. [2] There are three things in man which concur and unite together, namely, the Natural, the Spiritual, and the Celestial. His natural never receives any life except from the spiritual, and the spiritual never except from the celestial, and the celestial from the Lord alone, who is life itself. But in order that a still fuller idea may be gained: the natural is the receptacle that receives the spiritual, or is the vessel into which the spiritual is poured; and the spiritual is the receptacle which receives, or is the vessel into which is poured, the celestial. Thus, through things celestial, life comes from the Lord. Such is the influx. Third Round posts are short audio clips taken from Round 3 comments offered in the online Logopraxis Life Group meetings. The aim is to keep the focus on understanding the Text in terms of its application to the inner life along with reinforcing any key LP principles that have been highlighted in the exchanges.

Our Reimagined Life: Empowering Me, You, and Us Seeking Happiness and Self Worth
What if our outer world—our relationships, our business, even our to-do list—is simply reflecting our inner world back to us? That's the power behind Universal Law #4: The Law of Correspondence. In this episode, I'm sharing how this ancient principle (think “As above, so below”) shows up in everyday life—and why noticing the patterns between your inner beliefs and your external results can be one of the most transformative things you'll ever do. We'll explore how everything from a broken washer to business struggles can actually be mirrors for what's going on inside. I also talk about the connection between this law and the Law of Attraction, and why our mindset and emotional state must align with our desires if we want real change. If things feel stuck or chaotic around you, this episode will help you slow down, look inward, and shift from a place of power instead of blame. If this resonates, please share it with a friend or leave a review at ratethispodcast.com/ourreimaginedlife. Your support helps more women discover their own power. I love you.

As I read today's chapter, I thought about my mother's letters. It's amazing to me that people forget that the “book” that we know as 2 Corinthians is not a book at all. It's a letter.A chapter-a-day podcast from 2 Corinthians 2. The text version may always be found and shared at tomvanderwell.com.

In this episode, I discuss the Law of Correspondence. I explain what it is, how to use it, and how to see how it is being used on the masses.

Liana's work focuses on Islamic esotericism and the occult sciences, with a special interest in the exchange of esoteric and occult knowledge between the Islamic and Latin inhabited lands. Her book The Arabic Influences on Early Modern Occult Philosophy was published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2015. She is currently preparing a long-awaited critical translation from Arabic into English of the grimoire known as the Picatrix. A few of her research projects include the tenth-century secret brotherhood known as The Brethren of Purity, and the pseudo-Aristotelian Hermetica. She also worked as a project curator at the British Museum, deepening her interest in the material and artistic manifestations of the occult and the esoteric.Liana is a founding member of the European Network for the Study of Islam and Esotericism (ENSIE). Editorial roles include being a board member for Aries: Journal for the Study of Western Esotericism and Brill's Islamic Translation Series, and an associate editor of the journal Early Science and Medicine. In this interview, Liana speaks at length about Islamic Esotericism. This is an area of esoteric history that I haven't yet touched upon, so I was happy that Liana agreed to share her extensive knowledge on this topic. Some highlights of our discussion include: why the views and discourse of Islam within the area of “Western” esotericism is problematic; academic debates and disagreements in this area, how Liana defines Islamic esotericism, including paradigms and social orientations; and why the relationship between the idea of an eternal truth and the Islamic law raises anxiety in how Islamic esotericism is interpreted. Liana also discusses her research that deals with the 17th century Maltese inquisition, in particular the trial of Sellem the Moor, a Muslim enslaved person who was accused of being a magician. This work is part of a larger volume called Magic in Malta, and Liana examines this trial on three interconnected levels, and is a down-to-earth, practical example of how magic was being used by people at this time. Over the past two years, the pharmaceutical industry has quietly waged a massive lobbying campaign to try to block proposed EU regulations for the sector.Big Pharma companies have invested particular time and energy into lobbying the Irish Government, urging the State to push back against reforms to speed up the roll-out of new medicines across the EU, particularly to smaller and poorer countries.Correspondence now shows pharmaceutical companies are “disappointed and concerned” by the lack of support the Government has shown the sector in its push back against proposed European Union reforms.Irish Times acting Europe correspondent Jack Power joins In The News to discuss his investigation into pharma firms' attempts to prevent further regulation of the sector and the implications of these changes for pharmaceutical companies' presence on Irish soil.Presented by Sorcha Pollak. Today, we delve into one of the most fundamental principles of Hermetic philosophy: the Principle of Correspondence, often expressed as, 'As above, so below; as below, so above.' This powerful concept reveals the profound interconnectedness of all levels of existence—from the vast cosmos to the smallest atom, from the spiritual realms to the physical world. It teaches us that patterns and structures are mirrored across all planes, and that by understanding one level, we gain insight into all others. In this meditation, we'll explore how this principle manifests in our lives, cultivating a deeper awareness of the intricate web of connections that weave our reality together. THIS WEEK'S THEME: Today, we embark on a journey into the ancient and profound wisdom of Hermeticism. Hermeticism, attributed to the legendary figure Hermes Trismegistus, is a spiritual and philosophical tradition that has influenced thinkers for millennia. It offers a unique perspective on the nature of reality, the interconnectedness of all things, and the power of the mind. On the morning of January 15, 1947, a woman walking with her young daughter spotted something pale and white lying in the weeds of a vacant lot. When the woman walked closer to get a better look, she made a horrifying discovery: the bisected body of a young woman, brutally murdered and like trash in the abandoned overgrown lot. The woman in the lot would soon be identified as twenty-two-year-old aspiring actress Elizabeth Short, who the press nicknamed “The Black Dahlia.” Thank you to the Incredible Dave White of Bring Me the Axe Podcast for research and Writing support!ReferencesAssociated Press. 1947. In this episode of Christ the Center, we engage in a thoughtful and rigorous discussion of Keith Mathison's book, Toward a Reformed Apologetics: A Critique of the Thought of Cornelius Van Til. Carlton Wynne, Lane Tipton, and Camden Bucey critically examine Mathison's interpretation of Van Til, particularly in relation to idealism, epistemology, and the noetic effects of sin. Throughout this episode, we explore key themes, including: The Alleged Influence of Idealism: Did Van Til borrow philosophical categories from absolute idealism, or did he consistently maintain a Reformed, biblically grounded epistemology? The Nature of Human Knowledge: Did Van Til argue that humans must know everything in order to know anything? Or is this a misreading of his critique of unbelieving thought? The Ethical Antithesis in Epistemology: How does covenant theology shape Van Til's apologetic system, and why is the ethical nature of knowledge crucial for understanding his method? The Role of Coherence and Correspondence in Van Til's Thought: Did Van Til adopt an idealist coherence theory of truth, or did he reject both coherence and correspondence theories as traditionally conceived? We also discuss broader implications for Reformed apologetics, the challenges of properly interpreting Van Til, and why these theological debates matter for defending the Christian faith today. While critiquing Mathison's arguments, we affirm the importance of engaging in these discussions with charity and precision. Join us as we work through these foundational issues and lay the groundwork for future conversations on Mathison's book and Van Til's apologetic legacy.
Nikolaos Ntirlis is a Correspondence chess champion, and computer engineer who has become well known in the chess world for his vast opening expertise. Nikolaos is quite skilled at finding original opening ideas, and has grown popular through his books, and by highlighting new opening ideas on his Twitter/X account. The ideas Nikos suggests have often seen quick adoption by Grandmasters, and he has even seen moves he highlighted subsequently appear in the games of Hikaru Nakamura and Anish Girl. In fact, GM Giri wrote the Foreword to Nicolaos' newest book, the excellent Reimagining 1. E4. The book offers new ideas for White across many defenses to 1. E4, and explains opening concepts clearly without bombarding you with opening theory. In our conversation, we discussed the origins of Nikolaos' opening enthusiasm, how best to use engines, as well as which defenses to 1.e4 were most challenging to combat theoretically. Nikolaos is also an accomplished chess trainer who hasworked with the national team of Denmark. In our conversation, he offered some helpful chess improvement advice with a philosophical bent. Lastly, we discussed some of Nicolaos' other interests including correspondence chess, chess books, and martial arts.
