We've got to talk about the genius of Oregon's Dan Lanning and the split personalities of Kentucky, but first we'll hit some news. Utah quarterback Cam Rising is out for the season after suffering a leg injury against Arizona State. Utes coach Kyle Whittingham was noncommittal about an eighth season for Rising. Also, Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy got head-butted by a cow. SEC commissioner Greg Sankey said officials should have flagged Georgia coach Kirby Smart for bumping Mississippi State's quarterback on the sideline. Next, Nick Roush of On3's Kentucky Sports Radio joins to discuss one of the weirdest teams in college football. Kentucky has won at Ole Miss and pushed Georgia to the brink. Kentucky also has gotten smashed by South Carolina and lost to Vanderbilt at home. Mark Stoops says he's fed up. So which team shows up when the Wildcats play at Florida this weekend? Later, Andy and Ari discuss Oregon coach Lanning's admission that he purposely put 12 players on the field late in the game against Ohio State in order to drain seconds off the clock. From the Prime Effect on college football to the NFL potentially going international, there's a lot of change happening on and off the gridiron. Former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, and host of The Five Spot on Outkick, joins Owen Poindexter to discuss the state of the NFL, college football, and where he sees the sport going in the future. Plus, newsletter co-authors Eric Fisher and David Rumsey tells us why Deion Sanders still has a hold on college football despite a big loss last week, as well as gauge Taylor Swift's impact on the NFL.
The NFL season kicks off next week and Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles offense are gearing up for their week 1 battle against the New England Patriots. Former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker, and current FOX and 94.1 WIP analyst Garry Cobb takes a look at the Eagles franchise quarterback and the weapons surrounding him like A.J Brown, DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert. Is the only hurdle facing the NFC East Champions just staying healthy? Let us know in the comments below. Cam Jurgens has impressed throughout training camp and it looks like he will beat out rookie Tyler Steen for the starting right guard spot replacing Issac Seumalo who was signed to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the offseason. Jurgens, in his second year in the NFL, has only ever played center. How will the young athlete adjust? Will he have trouble finding his rhythm? Was it a smart move by Head Coach Nick Sirianni and Defensive Coordinator Sean Desai? Over the offseason, the Philadelphia Eagles running back room has some new occupants in D'Andre Swift and Rashad Penny. Swift was picked up during the 2023 NFL Draft as part of a trade with the Detroit Lions. Penny was signed following a 5 year stint with the Seattle Seahawks. Alongside Kenny Gainwell and Boston Scott, will these new additions be what this team needs to advance their ground game? Who will emerge as the top running back in 2023? Following the Super Bowl, the Eagles' defense gained a new defensive coordinator in Sean Desai but lost key players. Enter Jalen Carter. Drafted 9th overall by the Eagles earlier this year, the Georgia Bulldog defensive tackle has already positioned himself as one to watch throughout the season. Darius Slay and James Bradberry have continued to impress throughout training camp as well. However, an area of concern is the linebackers and the safeties. Are we getting good-quality play out of Nakobe Dean and Zach Cunningham? Is Reed Blankenship the right man to fill that starting safety role left vacant following the departure of C. J. Gardner-Johnson? As a former linebacker for the Eagles, as well as the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions, Cobb takes us inside the minds of these young defensemen and gives his thoughts on what adjustments he would make as the season approaches.
The NFL Preseason kicked off last week for the Philadelphia Eagles when they hosted the Baltimore Ravens. Former Philadelphia Eagles players Irving Fryar and Hollis Thomas sit down to take a look at last week's narrowing loss and what changes should be made before the Eagles take on the Cleveland Browns. Should Jalen Hurts take a snap during that game? Tanner McKee had 10 completions for 148 yards and rushed 1 time for 7 yards, while Marcus Mariota had 7 completions for 58 yards and rushed 4 times for 29 total yards.. Will Head Coach Nick Sirianni continue to test the Quarterbacks? Or will the Franchise Player make his first appearance for the 2023 NFL season? Irving Fryar, as a former NFL wide receiver, gives his insight on what these quarterbacks need to be doing to ensure they have a spot come the start of the season. Switching to the defensive side of the ball, there has been a lot of discussion over who will start at the safety position. Will it be Terell Edmunds or Sydney Brown? Last week Brown had 9 tackles while Edmunds only had 2 but one of those was a sack. That would be the Eagle's only sack of the evening. Jalen Carter also made himself known to Eagles fans while Jordan Davis seemed to hide in the shadows. As a defensive veteran, Hollis Thomas takes us inside the mind of this Eagles defense and what they young NFL stars are going to have to do to make sure they start against the New England Patriots in Week 1. Climb aboard your wayback machine with Hollis Thomas as he takes us back through History this week on “History With Hollis”. Where will we go this week? What interesting facts will we learn? Find out the answers to these great questions and more tonight on Vetted!

Knowing his relationship with Jalen Hurts rest of the roster and the city of Philadelphia embracing him after their Super Bowl run, is he in the upper echelon of coaches? Moving on to the world of the NBA, Irving and Hollis will also discuss James Harden and the Philadelphia 76ers drama. Will Harden remain a Sixer? Or will he find himself playing for another team next year? Maybe his old team, the Houston Rockets? Maybe there's a trade with the Portland Trail Blazers that brings Damian Lillard to Philly? To conclude the show as always, Hollis gives his history lesson in “History with Hollis.” What will Hollis talk about this week?

Welcome back to THE Sports Law Podcast! We cover all recent stories at the intersection of sports and law. Jason (@Jason_Morrin) and Evan (@Evan_Mattel21) break down the latest. George Gervin filed a lawsuit against Ralph Lauren for trademark infringement, false endorsement, and utilizing his name, image, and likeness without his permission. (2:25) Ralph Lauren released a shoe called the "Gervin Mid" which resembled the Nike shoes that Gervin wore, called the Nike Blazer, when he played in the NBA and was sponsored by Nike. The New Orleans Saints will be in the quarterback market this offseason, one in which the veteran market in particular is expected to be very active. That could put the Saints in a good position to explore every option, but should they? Or are their names that should be avoided? Former Philadelphia Eagles and Indianapolis Colts QB Carson Wentz may need to be filed in the "avoid" category as the Saints look to step into a new era of offensive football.Meanwhile, other options may get more appealing with a simplified look at receivers and a focus on the run game. One that fits the mold already and carries on the Saints' emphasis on familiarity is Teddy Bridgewater. Undefeated as a New Orleans Saint, could Teddy Two-Gloves make a return to the Big Easy? The Saints have always been a team that focuses on homegrown talent. But should they reconsider their approach and look at the path taken by the now Super Bowl Champion Los Angeles Rams? As a team never afraid to spend, never afraid to improve, the Saints certain could take that route. But whether or not they should is the question.Follow & Subscribe to the Locked On Saints Podcast on these platforms…
