BREAKTHROUGHS IN CANCER DETECTION: New tests promise to revolutionize cancer diagnosis. Dr. Gary Goldman is a board-certified ob-gyn and one of America's leading Functional Medicine practitioners, and is also a member of the speakers' bureau for Grail, developer of the Galleri cancer test. What are some of the limitations of current cancer tests like mammography, colonoscopy, PSA, CA-125, PAP smears, and CT scans? What's the difference between sensitivity and specificity? How does the Galleri test enhance our ability to detect cancers? How was it developed? How accurate is it? Will it lead to overdiagnosis? Why is there controversy over a £140 million NHS trial using Galleri to detect cancer? Can “liquid biopsies” be used to find out whether cancer is recurring before it's visible on imaging? What about new genetic tests that predict your likelihood of developing cancer? Why the arguments over frequency of colonoscopies, mammograms and PAP smears? Is there a certain age when you can forego them? Is the new colon cancer blood test a good alternative to colonoscopy?

fWotD Episode 2666: Total Recall (1990 film) Welcome to Featured Wiki of the Day, your daily dose of knowledge from Wikipedia’s finest articles. The featured article for Thursday, 22 August 2024 is Total Recall (1990 film).Total Recall is a 1990 American science-fiction action film directed by Paul Verhoeven, with a screenplay by Ronald Shusett, Dan O'Bannon, and Gary Goldman. The film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rachel Ticotin, Sharon Stone, Ronny Cox, and Michael Ironside. Based on the 1966 short story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale" by Philip K. Dick, Total Recall tells the story of Douglas Quaid (Schwarzenegger), a construction worker who receives an implanted memory of a fantastical adventure on Mars. He subsequently finds his adventure occurring in reality as agents of a shadow organization try to prevent him from recovering memories of his past as a Martian secret agent aiming to stop the tyrannical regime of Martian dictator Vilos Cohaagen (Cox).Shusett bought the rights to Dick's short story in 1974 and developed a script with O'Bannon. Although considered promising, the ambitious scope kept the project in development hell at multiple studios over sixteen years, seeing forty script drafts, seven different directors, and multiple actors cast as Quaid. Total Recall eventually entered the early stages of filming in 1987 under the De Laurentiis Entertainment Group shortly before its bankruptcy. Schwarzenegger, who had long held an interest in the project but had been dismissed as inappropriate for the lead role, convinced Carolco Pictures to purchase the rights and develop the film with him as the star. On an estimated $48–80 million budget (making it one of the most expensive films made in its time), filming took place on expansive sets at Estudios Churubusco in Mexico over six months. Cast and crew experienced numerous injuries and illnesses during filming.Total Recall was anticipated to be one of the year's most successful films. On its release, the film earned approximately $261.4 million worldwide, making it the fifth-highest-grossing film of the year. Its critical reception was mixed, with reviewers praising its themes of identity and questioning reality, but criticizing content perceived as vulgar and violent. The practical special effects were well received, earning the film an Academy Award, and the score by Jerry Goldsmith has been praised as one of his best works.Since its release, Total Recall has been praised for its ambiguous ending positing whether Quaid's adventures are real or a fantasy, and it has also been analyzed for themes of authoritarianism and colonialism. Retrospective reviews have called it one of Schwarzenegger's best films and placed it among the best science fiction films ever made. Alongside comic books and video games, Total Recall has been adapted into the 1999 television series Total Recall 2070. An early attempt at a sequel, based on Dick's The Minority Report, became the 2002 standalone film Minority Report, and a 2012 remake, also titled Total Recall, failed to replicate the success of the original. This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 01:10 UTC on Thursday, 22 August 2024.For the full current version of the article, see Total Recall (1990 film) on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm standard Salli.

We have reached another Don Bluth animation classic! The Pebble and The Penguin. Another cult classic that 90s babies and kids hold near and dear to their hearts! The Pebble and the Penguin is a 1995 American independent animated musical comedy-adventure film directed by Don Bluth and Gary Goldman. The film stars the voices of Martin Short, Jim Belushi, Tim Curry, and Annie Golden. Based on the true life mating rituals of the Adélie penguins in Antarctica, the film focuses on a timid, stuttering penguin named Hubie who tries to impress a beautiful penguin named Marina by giving her a pebble that fell from the sky and keep her from the clutches of an evil penguin named Drake who wants Marina for himself. Towards the end of production, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer significantly changed the film, forcing Don Bluth and Gary Goldman to leave their film and demand to have their names taken off the film. The two would later start working at Fox Animation Studios. The film was released in the United States on April 12, 1995, by MGM/UA Distribution Co., receiving negative reviews from critics and being a box office bomb, grossing only $3.9 million against a $28 million budget. It is the final film to be produced by Sullivan Bluth Studios before the studio went bankrupt and ceased operations.

Among them is Dr. Gary Goldman M.D, a Cornell trained physician practicing Integrative Gynecology and Functional Medicine in New York City. He joins podcast host Chloe Harrouche to clarify how integrative medicine unlocks the potential for women's health, highlighting the importance of thinking outside the box and finding individualized solutions. In this episode, they explore the root causes of chronic UTIs and the role of dysbiosis, addressing the microbiome as a crucial aspect of treatment. They also address the rise in infertility due to various factors, including age, stress, body fat, the use of birth control and its impact on hormone balance. Move over Prince Eric there's a hunkier animated dream boat in town.   We watched Anastasia (1997) with our friend Donovan Marcotte and we would seriously consider giving up royalty for a shot at animated John Cusack.  Anastasia was the 1990's animated princess *not* brought to you by the house of mouse, but rather thorn in Disney's side Don Bluth and Gary Goldman - the team behind The Secret of NIMH, An American Tail and The Land Before Time. America's Sweetheart and ‘90s Icon Meg Ryan is charming as Anastasia and Cusack was making girls and little gay boys feel some type of way as hunky Dimitri.  The tragic real-life story of the Romanov Royal Family and the ooky-spooky Rasputin somehow fit in this children's tale of lost love, and reuniting with family (Don Bluth certainly has a thing for families getting separated).   Throw in amnesia, a talking bat sidekick and a touch of magic and no, we didn't forget the soundtrack (it's Everything).  Don't sleep on the pop version of Journey to the Past sung by none other than Aaliyah.  Iconic.  Thanks for listening and don't forget to subscribe, rate and review us on Apple Podcasts! www.patreon.com/moviesthatmadeusgay Facebook/Instagram: @moviesthatmadeusgay Twitter: @MTMUGPod Scott Youngbauer: Twitter @oscarscott / Instagram @scottyoungballer Peter Lozano: Twitter/Instagram @peterlasagna

Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov, the fourth child and fourth consecutive daughter for Russian Tsar Nicholas II and his wife Tsarina Alexandra, was a disappointment at the time of her birth. She wasn't the long-awaited son and heir for the couple. He would come along three years later. And, well, the rest of the tragic story of the Russian imperial family is fairly well-known. But Anastasia has led a remarkable life post her premature assassination by the Bolsheviks in 1918. Rumours of her survival and escape to Europe swirled in the post-war years, culminating in a multitude of imposters claiming to be her. The true story of Anastasia and the Romanov family is so tragic, it's hard to believe anyone would want to make a movie out of it, let alone an animated movie, and a musical at that. Don Bluth and Gary Goldman's 1997 animation can hardly be accused of historical accuracy, but as the rival for Disney's princess-based movies of their Renaissance, Anastasia more than holds her own, with beautiful animation, an all-star voice cast, and a wonderful score and songs. Ironically, despite the rivalry between Fox and Disney at the time, Disney now own Fox, and they also now own Anastasia. That doesn't make her a Disney Princess, but it makes her close to being one. Aljon Go and Dave Bossert share part one of their chat with Producer, Animator, Writer, and Artist, John Pomeroy. They also talk about the latest news surrounding Disney, new films, and animation. John Pomeroy is an animator who has worked for several major studios, including Walt Disney Animation Studios and Sullivan Bluth Studios. He has also worked as a producer and screenwriter on several animated feature films. Learn more about John Pomeroy at JohnPomeroy.com. He is known for his work on The Secret of NIMH (1982), All Dogs Go to Heaven (1989), and An American Tail (1986). John Pomeroy started work at Walt Disney Animation Studios in 1973 as a background artist and became a full animator in 1974 to work on Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too. While working at Disney, he met fellow animators Don Bluth and Gary Goldman and began working with them on an independent short film project, Banjo the Woodpile Cat. In 1979 he, Bluth, Goldman, and several other Disney animators left the studio to form the independent studio Don Bluth Productions (later to become Bluth Group), which produced the film The Secret of NIMH and the animation for laserdisc video games Dragon's Lair and Space Ace. The independent studio encountered financial difficulties and declared bankruptcy in 1984, but reformed soon after as Sullivan Bluth Studios and opened a major animation facility in Dublin, Ireland. Pomeroy remained at the Dublin studio to work as the directing animator and producer on An American Tail and The Land Before Time, before moving back to America in 1989 to form a new US wing of the company. After working with Sullivan Bluth for thirteen years, Pomeroy was convinced to return to Disney by Don Hahn to work as the supervising animator on John Smith for Pocahontas. While working at Disney, Pomeroy also provided animation for the films Fantasia 2000, The Tigger Movie, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and Treasure Planet. Pomeroy then left Disney once again in 2003 during the period where they briefly shut down their traditional animation department and subsequently started to do freelance work and was an animator for Curious George, and most recently, The Simpsons Movie, as well as Tom and Jerry and the Wizard of Oz, Tom and Jerry: The Lost Dragon, Tom and Jerry: Spy Quest, Tom and Jerry: Back to Oz, Tom and Jerry: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and Space Jam: A New Legacy. He is a talented sculptor, and creates busts that animated film artists use to visualize a 3-D model of their character. John Pomeroy is also a painter of historic events, and builder of historic weapons used in movies. He is currently on the elders board at a Village Christian School in Sun Valley, California. In today's episode we introduce the Global Health Impact Network. You have heard us mention the network in previous episodes. So today our guest is Dr. Gary Goldman who is the founder of GHIF and GHIN. Global Health Impact Fund (GHIF) is a Strategic Venture Capital Investment Network. Our investor-focused model invests exclusively on behalf of our clinician and healthcare professional investor network. We provide an opportunity for these professionals to participate in a diversified portfolio of early-stage healthcare technology companies. These businesses are revolutionizing the healthcare industry, but the vast majority of clinical professionals are simply observers to changes that will upset their practices and worldview. GHIF offers a potent alternative to that scenario. GHIF investors will directly help shape the technological cutting edge as executive advisors to the Fund. We care not just for your investment, but also for your opinions and participation. Our typical prospective investment will be seeking between $250K and $2M in capital. For businesses looking for more than $2M in the capital, we have the flexibility to co-invest alongside other strategic venture partners who meet our standards for commitment to healthcare improvement. We would love to know what you took away from this conversation with Martyn and Gary! Follow @martyneeles and give your insight and questions using the hashtag #GHIF. If you would like to be considered as a guest or have someone you would like to hear from (GP or LP), drop me a direct message on Twitter.

Welcome Folks - you are listening to the Pencil Pushers Podcast and I'm your humble host Mike Rosado. Today, we share my talk with the legendary animator, John Pomeroy - somebody, who in my opinion, is one of the most important figures in the field for the past 50 years. Listen in as we twist and twirl through his storied career working under the tutelage of the Nine Old Men at Disney, teaming up with Don Bluth and Gary Goldman to create their own animation studio, creating classics like The Secret of Nimh, American Tail and Land Before Time, coming back back to Disney as lead animator for Pocohontas, Atlantis, Fantasia 2000 and more. We also chat about burnout, how to have a successful work life balance, and what he's doing next with his new online animation school, Pomeroy Art Academy. This one is a real banger as our convo starts right out of the gates on how he, Don and Gary took a massive gamble and helped the world fall in love with animation again. And so, without further ado, I invite you to sit back, relax and enjoy our talk with John.   The Pencil Pushers Podcast is a celebration of the hand-drawn arts. I'll be interviewing friends and idols in illustration, animation, comic-art, and more. - Mike Rosado https://www.instagram.com/ekimodasor/ Produced and edited by Trujillo Media

The ThawedCast: Conversations About Animation

Philip and Jodi discuss the direct-to-video prequel to 'Anastasia' (1997), 'Bartok the Magnificent' (1999), directed by Don Bluth and Gary Goldman. The film establishes the enigmatic Bartok as a mystical creature whose history dates back well before the rise of the USSR. In a world where talking, street-performing bats (and bears) are nothing too out-of-the-ordinary, the task of rescuing a beloved prince from the mythical Baba Yaga falls to Bartok, whose bravery and wit may just allow him to succeed. The film teaches the importance of perseverance through adversity, and that friends come in the unlikeliest forms. The ThawedCast: Conversations About Animation

Animation legend Don Bluth released his 9th film, 'Anastasia,' in 1997. Co-directed by longtime collaborator Gary Goldman, this historical fantasy was the first feature produced by Fox Animation Studios and represents a high point for hand-drawn animated musicals. The film follows the amnesiac Anya a.k.a. Anastasia, a Russian princess who embarks on a journey to reunite with her sole-surviving family member. Nominated for two Academy Awards, 'Anastasia' represents one of the few successful attempts at replicating Disney's success before CGI animation rose to prominence. Chris & Kelsey talk about two animated masterpieces that, while not explicitly horror films, still manage to unsettle or terrify children and adults alike. Please accept the thin pretense for a nice feel-good break from the norm. Thanks to listener Jeffrey for recommending The Secret of NIMH! The Classic Film: The Secret of NIMH (1982) "To save her ill son, a field mouse must seek the aid of a colony of rats, with whom she has a deeper link than she ever suspected” (IMDb.com). Chris's favorite animated film marks maybe the last time Disney's dominance of the cartoon market was called into question. Don Bluth's first(!) feature after leaving what he considered to be a floundering Disney in the 80s, The Secret of NIMH doesn't shy away from plunging audiences into the depths of darkness and despair to help them appreciate the light. The Modern Film: Spirited Away (2001) "During her family's move to the suburbs, a sullen 10-year-old girl wanders into a world ruled by gods, witches, and spirits, and where humans are changed into beasts” (IMDb.com). Calling Hayao Miyazaki "the Walt Disney of Japan" doesn't give the animation auteur enough credit for the unique wonder and majesty he brings the world with his films. With Spirited Away, perhaps his best ever (although Kelsey prefers Totoro), Miyazaki thrusts the audience into a frighteningly mystical world of spirits and demons that never ceases to amaze. So, Pete's got a dragon, some townsfolk have their reservations about it, and all works out in the end, right? Well these thirteen things about Pete's Dragon are anything but simple, so don't just Passamaquoddy them by. Originally intended as an installment of the The Magical World of Disney TV series circa 1957, it was shelved until 1975. There were plans to move the lighthouse, specially constructed for the film, to the Disneyland theme park. Unfortunately, the building had deteriorated beyond repair before this could be done. Animation director Don Bluth was told by the producers to create 900 feet of animation on a $1.8 million budget. When the producers were impressed with the first few scenes he completed, they updated their demand to 1800 feet of animation but neither increased the budget nor the production schedule. Bluth delivered the completed animation on time but was reprimanded for going $75,000 over budget. Alcohol abuse is a key theme in the film's plot. Helen Reddy, Mickey Rooney, and songwriter Al Kasha all had alcoholic fathers. Animators Don Bluth, Gary Goldman, and John Pomeroy regularly worked 100 hours per week during production. When they applied for overtime pay, their superiors suggested that they instead receive one hour off for each hour of overtime they worked. At the end of production, all three men were owed six continuous weeks of time off. They used this time off to work on their private project, Banjo the Woodpile Cat. This is Ken Anderson's final film for Disney. Having spent much of his early life in East Asia, he based Elliott on the Chinese dragon trope; the ancient Chinese consider dragons good while Western cultures consider them evil. The scene where Mickey Rooney and Red Buttons drunkenly walk to the cave to see Elliott turned into a massive ad-lib session, with each comedian trying to outdo the other with pratfalls and slapstick. Originally, Elliott the dragon was not to be seen at all in the film and remain invisible throughout. However, members of the studio animation department gradually lobbied studio heads to increase the amount of visible screen time. At first it was decided he would be only seen at the end of the film, but ultimately the character's screen time was increased to 22 minutes. The story was set in the fictitious eastern seacoast town of Passamaquoddy. The movie set, however, was constructed on the west coast. This explains why the sun appears to be setting in the east in the scene early in the movie in which Nora exits the lighthouse after putting Pete to bed. This was the very first film released on VHS by Disney's home media outlet, Walt Disney Home Video. They HAD done releases on the Discovision, but this was the first program they released on their own, on the VHS/Betamax magnetic tape formats plus Laserdisc format at some point, and has the smallest stock number of every home media release the company put out. A Ska-Punk version of the song "It's Not Easy" was recorded by members of Reel Big Fish and Zolof The Rock & Roll Destroyer. Don Hahn, who was assistant director to Don Bluth on this film, gained some experience working with a combination of live-action and animation before later going on to work on Who Framed Roger Rabbit. One technique used in the movie involved compositing with a Sodium vapour process, whereby up to three scenes might be composited together - for example, a live foreground, a live background, and an animated middle ground containing Elliott. ? http://LearnTrueHealth.com/vaccines Watch the trailer! http://realimmunity.org https://worldwidechoice.org   Developing Real Immunity http://learntruehealth.com/real-immunity/ It has been the norm for decades to have ourselves vaccinated, thinking this would protect us from diseases. But do vaccines do the job? Apparently, more and more studies show that vaccines do more harm than develop real immunity.    To those who are seeking real immunity, well, today's your lucky day.  For today's episode, I'm having a repeat guest---Dr. Cilla Whatcott!    For the listeners who weren't able to catch Dr. Cilla Whatcott on episode 137 here on Learn True Health, my guest is a staunch advocate of homeoprophylaxis. Homeoprophylaxis helps build real immunity to infections.  Most importantly, it is safe and efficient alternative compared to vaccines.  The Truth About Vaccines   Whatcott is set to launch her Real Immunity video documentary series in 2018. While it is currently still in production, I'm inviting everyone to watch "The Truth About Vaccine," by Ty Bollinger.  Like his other project, "The Truth About Cancer" video documentary series, the educational films are both available on my website.   I find it so shocking that a significant majority remain clueless about the gravity of the controversy surrounding vaccines. Did you know a main ingredient of vaccines is using aborted babies? Yes, you read it right. Babies!    And it doesn't stop there. Vaccines contain mercury, heavy metals, glyphosate and other harmful components.    From what I heard, "The Truth About Vaccines," will be offered online for free. Hence, please do watch the series and share it with someone who you know could benefit from it.   So is there real immunity using natural methods? The answer is a big YES! Furthermore, building immunity naturally does not cause disease.    Dr. Cilla Whatcott's Mission   "Mahatma Gandhi once said that the power elicited by fear is nowhere near as effective as the power elicited by love," said Whatcott. Whatcott firmly states that her primary goal is to provide a wealth of knowledge to parents about vaccines. She likewise aims to educate more people about homeoprophylaxis in particular. "This should be the mantra of all parents because, in Western medicine, fear drives us to take vaccines. And ultimately, our love for our children guides us in all the decisions that we make," Whatcott said.   Effectiveness Of Homeoprophylaxis    Homeoprophylaxis one form of immunity building. It is an integral part of developing real immunity naturally by at least 90%.    "Our birthright is having a robust immunity. That's how nature created us. We gain that immunity through contact with bacteria and viruses," Whatcott said. "We also develop real immunity by making sure we have a healthy gut biome especially in the first two years of life." Apparently, Homeoprophylaxis is popular in countries like India, Mexico, Cuba and South America. It is, however, unfortunate that it is not widely popular in the United States yet.   Alarming Statistics   I empathize with Dr. Whatcott. Growing up in Canada and coming to live in the United States, I thought the culture and mindset would be the same. Boy, I was wrong. I had culture shock!   It was a rude awakening when I found out that despite having to pay a substantial amount for health care, a lot of Americans suffer from a lot of health issues. Some of these problems are high infant mortality rate, cancer rate, obesity, and diabetes.    Furthermore, a lot of us have to deal with seasonal allergies.  But I realized that most of these illnesses are caused by an unhealthy diet. In fact, we think going to a doctor is health care when in fact it is merely disease management.   Remaining Optimistic   Whatcott, however, is hopeful that more people, especially parents, are slowly trying to choose natural alternatives for better health. She claims her client base is steadily rising since people now look for doctors who can connect with patients.   "I have more parents coming to see me and who want to do it naturally. The mere fact that you can sit and listen to a client that is healing right there," said Whatcott.  I likewise share Whatcott's frustration whenever I hear medical doctors giving the wrong drugs or administering the wrong dosage. What is even more appalling is that they hardly put importance in embracing a healthy diet. It is infuriating!   Developing A Healthy Immune System    Many factors lead to a healthy immune system.  Like a smooth-running factory, real immunity entails having a good nutritional support and metabolism.   "Doctors can't tell you about nutrition. They are not trained in nutrition at all. It is outside their scope of practice," Whatcott declares. Miller's Study   Whatcott also mentions a significant study done by medical research journalist Neil Z. Miller. Miller's study on critical vaccines showed that measles, mumps, chicken pox, prevent chronic diseases.    Furthermore, the study indicates that lymphomas, tumors, ovarian cancer are prevented when you develop measles, mumps, and chicken pox. Now, the big question is---"So why are we preventing ourselves from getting them?"    Whatcott affirms that the three last health conditions are not deadly diseases. Western medicine stresses the need for us to be vaccinated to prevent those health conditions from happening.     Furthermore, Whatcott says there was a surveillance study conducted about chicken pox in 1995. That time, the rate of shingles went up because chicken pox is a retro virus.   "If the immune system is stressed, it can come out as shingles. But when you get an external boost from other people having chicken pox, it tones your immune system and keeps you healthy," explains Whatcott.   Goldman's Findings   Speaking of shingles, Whatcott mentions another significant study that was conducted by Dr. Gary Goldman. Goldman had a background in computer science and worked as a data analyst on the project.   However, Goldman quit in 2002. Apparently, his superiors, as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), were trying to suppress the findings on shingles. Consequently, he managed to have his study published in the Vaccine journal in 2003.   The Truth About Flu Vaccines   Whatcott also reveals another mind-blowing controversy.  This time, about the flu vaccine. According to her, Cochrane Collaboration, a non-profit organization doing meta-analysis says the flu vaccine when administered to patients under the age of 2 years old, is no better than placebo.    "The flu vaccine was proven by studies that it does not prevent flu-related hospitalizations.  Bottomline, there is no benefit," Whatcott said. According to a study done in 2012, flu vaccine increases the antibodies for a particular strain. However, Whatcott says the innate arm of the immune system is compromised. Hence, people with the flu vaccine are more prone to pick up other varieties of flu strains.    "Antibodies are not the gold standard of immunity. The gut biome, nutritional status, emotional environment are the things that build immunity," explains Whatcott. "Your innate health and immunity are what keeps you healthy long-term and prevents chronic disease,"   I strongly agree with what Whatcott said.  Honestly, I think a flu shot might help you a little bit. But it disarms the immune system as a whole. That is why a lot of people nowadays are diagnosed with autoimmune disease.    Real Immunity Video Documentary    Whatcott's video project promises to be a wealth of information about how to develop real immunity naturally. Insights from Chinese medicine, functional medicine, and chiropractic methods will be included in the film.   The documentary will likewise interview client testimonials and experts like Jeanne Ohm, editor of Pathways Magazine, as well as Dr. Andy Wakefield. Wakefield is a pediatric gastroenterologist who wrote a paper saying his study found measles virus in the bowels of the children who were given vaccination shots.   Remote Practice   Whatcott primarily holds practice in Minneapolis. With over a decade of helping families, her practice also extends to providing services online.   Having changed the lives of many people over the years, Whatcott aims to educate more people about the dangers of vaccines. Promoting homeoprophylaxis is just one way of erasing the fear of omitting vaccines from our life.   "Anything that we do just to maintain our health status is going to build immunity. The primary elements to achieve optimal health is through nutrition, exercise, sleep, healthy relationships and rational emotions," Whatcott said.   Cilla Whatcott is a board-certified classical homeopath with a B.A. from Arizona State University, a diploma from the four-year professional program at Northwestern Academy of Homeopathy, and a Ph.D. in Homeopathy.   She is an instructor at Normandale Community College and the author of“There Is a Choice: Homeoprophylaxis," and co-author of "The Solution - Homeoprophylaxis.”   Whatcott is also the executive director of Worldwide Choice. She likewise offers individualized homeoprophylaxis programs for adults and children.    Whatcott has been a guest lecturer in France, Scotland, Ireland, Indonesia, the USA, and Canada, and featured in episode 7 of The Truth about Vaccines. She has organized and directed international conferences in 2015 and 2016 about homeoprophylaxis.    Whatcott also has published articles in several periodicals and magazines. She likewise has a certification as a CEASE therapist for reversing vaccine injury.   Get Connected With Dr. Cilla Whatcott!  World Wide Choice Family Homeopathy Care Twitter Learn True Health - vaccines Book by Dr. Cilla Whatcott There Is a Choice - Homeoprophylaxis Recommended Readings by Dr. Cilla Whatcott Dissolving Illusions - Suzanne Humphries (Vaccines) Miller's Review of Critical Vaccine Studies - Neil Miller (Vaccines) Impossible Cure -  Amy Lansky (Homeopathy) The Complete  Homeopathy Handbook - Miranda Castro (Homeopathy)     The Links You Are Looking For: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Become A Health Coach Learn More About The Institute for Integrative Nutrition's Health Coaching Certification Program by checking out these four resources: 1) Integrative Nutrition's Curriculum Guide: http://geti.in/2cmUMxb 2) The IIN Curriculum Syllabus: http://geti.in/2miXTej 3) Module One of the IIN curriculum: http://geti.in/2cmWPl8 4) Get three free chapters of Joshua Rosenthal's book: http://geti.in/2cksU87 Watch my little video on how to become a Certified Health Coach! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDDnofnSldI ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If this episode made a difference in your life, please leave me a tip in the virtual tip jar by giving my podcast a great rating and review in iTunes! http://bit.ly/learntruehealth-itunes Thank you! The animation world has been abuzz since animation legends Don Bluth and Gary Goldman announced they were doing a crowdfunding campaign for a sizzle reel for Dragon's Lair: The Movie. The duo first started on Kickstarter, but recently moved over to Indiegogo last week. In less than a week, the new Indiegogo campaign has amassed over $200K, reaching 80% of its $240K goal. However, they don't want to stop at $250K, they have a lot of awesome stretch goals, contests, giveaways and more sneak peek's for backers in the the coming weeks. The Rotoscopers had the opportunity to sit down with Don and Gary to discuss the campaign and film. Commuting into New York City, doesn’t make Joe’s depression any better, neither does getting fired from his job. Which brings us to Joe’s real issue of the week, getting cut from his gig at City Steam in Hartford, CT. After a few nights of fighting off a drunk bachelorette party, guidos and a few hecklers, Joe thought he was on top of his game, screaming at the audience making some great material until his mic got shut off. Thats when things got serious and now Joe needs your help. Joe doesn’t know why he is being punished for having evil hecklers, that he could successfully fend off. Calling in to lend some advice were Gary Goldman and Bill Burr. It turns out they have a lot of heckler experience. Some lessons learned were that it can be best to spit in the face of evil, bachelorette parties will play victim, some audience members are helpful and some are just always going to be miserable. The question still stands though who was wrong Joe or the club?

13 Things You Didn't Know About Walt Disney's Pete's Dragon

The Joe and Mike Show

So, Pete's got a dragon, some townsfolk have their reservations about it, and all works out in the end, right? Well these thirteen things about Pete's Dragon are anything but simple, so don't just Passamaquoddy them by. 13. Originally intended as an installment of the The Magical World of Disney TV series circa 1957, it was shelved until 1975. 12. There were plans to move the lighthouse, specially constructed for the film, to the Disneyland theme park. Unfortunately, the building had deteriorated beyond repair before this could be done. 11. 10. Alcohol abuse is a key theme in the film's plot. Helen Reddy, Mickey Rooney, and songwriter Al Kasha all had alcoholic fathers. 9. 8. This is Ken Anderson's final film for Disney. Having spent much of his early life in East Asia, he based Elliott on the Chinese dragon trope; the ancient Chinese consider dragons good while Western cultures consider them evil. 7. The scene where Mickey Rooney and Red Buttons drunkenly walk to the cave to see Elliott turned into a massive ad-lib session, with each comedian trying to outdo the other with pratfalls and slapstick. 6. 5. The story was set in the fictitious eastern seacoast town of Passamaquoddy. The movie set, however, was constructed on the west coast. This explains why the sun appears to be setting in the east in the scene early in the movie in which Nora exits the lighthouse after putting Pete to bed. 4. 3. A Ska-Punk version of the song "It's Not Easy" was recorded by members of Reel Big Fish and Zolof The Rock & Roll Destroyer. 2. Don Hahn, who was assistant director to Don Bluth on this film, gained some experience working with a combination of live-action and animation before later going on to work on Who Framed Roger Rabbit. 1. One technique used in the movie involved compositing with a Sodium vapour process, whereby up to three scenes might be composited together - for example, a live foreground, a live background, and an animated middle ground containing Elliott.
