Tony Alamo Program 272: Roman Canon Law, the Wisdom of Proverbs, and a Warning to Bill Clinton Over Waco World pastor Tony Alamo devotes program 272 of his teaching series to Roman canon law and what he calls Satan's seat in Rome, the wisdom of the Book of Proverbs, and a pointed rebuke of former President Bill Clinton over Waco, with scripture readings led by his co-host Sharon Alamo. Program 272 Opens With Roman Canon Law Tony Alamo greets listeners as world pastor, opening part 170 of his series How to Have God's Life Living in You, program 272. He tells listeners Sharon will give four ways to request a free copy, along with a free Messiah book, other literature, or a Bible for anyone who cannot afford one. He turns to his recurring theme, comparing Roman canon law, which he says the United States adopted upon joining the United Nations, with the law of God, calling the two exact opposites. He argues that joining the World Council and the United Nations cost America its wealth and manufacturing, transferring it to Japan, its former World War II enemy. He places the seat of Satan, whom he calls a great red dragon, in Rome, the city of seven hills, and says Rome itself authored democracy, a system he calls rule by an untrustworthy mob, no better than the crowd God drowned in Noah's flood while sparing only eight people. Democracy, Rome, and the Generals Removed From Power Alamo continues his critique of one-world government, warning that God scattered the nations' languages precisely to prevent them combining under a single law originating from Satan's seat in Rome. He claims that during World War II, conspirators secretly built NATO, brought in Russia, and removed the two generals, Patton and MacArthur, he says could have won the war outright, installing General Eisenhower, whom he calls Casper Milquetoast, in their place because Eisenhower favored NATO and one-world government. He tells the congregation he watched a History Channel program confirming democracy originated in Rome, the city of seven mountains, and argues the media functions as the mouth of Satan, shaping opinion until the mob believes lies about Jesus having relationships with women or never truly dying on the cross. He insists God alone should govern, citing Moses as ruler of both church and state, and says he supports dictatorship only when God is the dictator. A Prayer and Jesus Loves Me From the Life Choir Alamo leads the studio in prayer, asking the Father to open hearts and minds so listeners reject what he calls the abominations taught by Satan's government, church, and media, and prays that the 144,000 Jews he expects to be saved receive God's mark before the four angels of the end times destroy the earth. The congregation answers amen. He then teaches that Jesus, as the Word of God, embodies wisdom, power, and mercy, tying the familiar song Jesus Loves Me to that idea before introducing a recording of the Life Choir performing it under the direction of arranger HB Barnum, whom he calls one of the top five arrangers and producers in the world. During and after the performance, Alamo interjects short exhortations about the Word of God leading believers into heaven, telling listeners to raise their hands and praise the Lord for His power, wisdom, and knowledge. Colossians, Proverbs, and the Hidden Treasures of Wisdom Alamo brings in his co-host, Sharon Alamo, to read Colossians chapter 2, verse 3, walking her line by line through its description of the treasures of wisdom and knowledge hidden in Christ, and teaching that love means keeping God's commandments rather than affection or physical intimacy. He turns to the Book of Proverbs, explaining that its key word is wisdom, tracing it to Christ as described in Proverbs chapter 8, and crediting Solomon, whom he calls the principal author, with 333 Old Testament prophecies pointing toward Jesus. He describes Proverbs as God's practical instruction for relating to God, to parents, to children, and to neighbors, and argues temporal life is not real life until surrendered to the Lord. He also mentions his own literature titled The True Believer's Sabbath, teaching that every day, not just one day a week, is Sabbath rest for a born-again Christian, since Christ said the Sabbath was made for man. Solomon's Wisdom, Sin, and Unconditional Love Rejected Alamo continues teaching that Solomon asked God for wisdom rather than riches and became the wisest man in the world until he disobeyed the Lord's instruction to marry only godly women, falling into idolatry in his later years. He warns the same fate can befall anyone who grows careless, insisting love for God is conditional, not unconditional as he says many preachers falsely claim. He rejects the idea that a believer can keep sinning, naming lying, stealing, and sexual sin, and says preachers who promise otherwise are weak and destined for the lake of fire alongside those they mislead. Sharon then reads from Proverbs chapter 8, and Alamo interprets each line as wisdom, meaning Jesus, calling out to sinners in the highest places and at the city gates. He describes his own appearance, joking that his sunglasses, worn because of glaucoma, make some think he resembles the Mafia rather than a conventional preacher. A Warning to Clinton, a Testimony, and a Closing Prayer Alamo turns his warning toward former President Bill Clinton, referencing a news article in which Clinton reportedly called sending troops to Waco his worst mistake, and tells Clinton that what happened there was sin, not a mistake, naming Janet Reno alongside him and urging both to repent and be washed in the blood of Jesus. Running low on time, he has Sharon read a testimonial from a listener named Brother Martin in San Diego, California, describing his eight-year-old son's recovery from a serious virus in Mexico after prayer with the ministry's prayer-line volunteer, Brother Rick. Alamo credits the healing to prayer and invites listeners with illnesses to call or write for prayer. Sharon then reads from 1 Corinthians chapter 1, and Alamo leads the congregation in a spoken sinner's prayer confessing faith in Jesus's death and resurrection. Sharon closes with the ministry's website, Texarkana post office box, phone, and fax numbers before Alamo signs off performing his recording You Can't Take It with You.

Where can you find God’s blessings when life feels ordinary, frustrating, or even painful? God’s goodness is often present in ways we overlook—the breath in our lungs, daily provision, protection, meaningful relationships, and quiet moments of peace. Like hidden treasures beneath layers of rock, these blessings become easier to recognize when we slow down and intentionally look for them. Job 28:10 reminds us that treasures can be discovered when we are willing to search for them. The same can be true of our relationship with God. Even during difficult seasons, He can be developing spiritual treasures such as patience, kindness, perseverance, and deeper faith. Most importantly, God’s presence is with us in the darkness. When we learn to look beyond our circumstances and seek God’s work in our everyday lives, we can begin to notice the countless ways He is supporting, protecting, and loving us. Full Transcript Below: Find Hidden Treasures from God By: Whitney Hopler Bible Reading:“They tunnel through the rock; their eyes see all its treasures.” – Job 28:10, NIV On a trip to Norway, I went through so many tunnels while traveling in cars and trains that I completely lost count. As I traveled through the tunnels, I thought about the incredible engineering required to blast through all that hard rock. I also thought about all the natural treasures that are hidden deep inside rocks. More than 4,000 different kinds of beautiful minerals and gemstones can be buried in rocks all around our planet. When people tunnel through rock, they may discover quartz, garnet, amethyst, and many more varieties of treasures. Job 28:10 points out that tunneling through rock reveals treasures. It’s necessary to make an effort to find treasures. But treasures are there, waiting to be discovered, when we’re willing to do the work of trying to find them. God is constantly pouring blessings into your life, and every single one of those blessings is a treasure. But some of them may be hidden until you make an effort to search for them. If you explore and ask God to help you find the treasures he has given you, you’ll start to see that God’s goodness is glittering all around you. God’s goodness is in the breath filling your lungs right now, and the strength in your legs that lets you walk across the room. You can see it when you enjoy a good meal, turn on the tap for clean water, or drive home safely without any trouble. Even a frustrating red light can be God protecting you from danger ahead, and a quiet, boring day can be God’s way of giving you peace. Once you start looking, you’ll see that God is taking care of you in countless ways every single day. Even when you find yourself traveling through a difficult season that feels like being stuck inside a dark tunnel, these hidden treasures are still there. In fact, some of God’s most valuable blessings are formed in the dark. Just as pressure and heat create diamonds deep beneath the earth’s surface, hard times can produce beautiful spiritual qualities like patience and kindness that help you grow in holiness. When you’re inside a dark tunnel of suffering in this fallen world, it’s easy to doubt God’s love for you. But if you look closely, you’ll find that God has placed the most valuable treasure of all – God’s presence with you – right there in the dark. By finding God’s presence with you, you can also discover God’s blessings for you, which you wouldn’t notice if you weren’t focused on your relationship with God. You have to change how you look at your daily circumstances so you can find treasures from God. Instead of just trying to hurry through your days, ask God to help you notice his work in your life. You need to look closely at your life while praying for God’s guidance to find the hidden ways God is supporting, protecting, and loving you right now. When you make an effort to seek God and look for the wonder of God’s work in your life, you can see all the blessings God is generously giving you. So, look beyond the surface of your life and seek God. Get excited about discovering all the beautiful, hidden treasures God has placed in your life! Intersecting Faith & Life: As you consider how to find hidden treasures from God, reflect on these questions: What’s one treasure God has already given you that you might easily overlook if you’re too busy, but can find it when you let yourself rest and focus on God more? When you look back at a past difficult season, what spiritual treasures did God develop in you through that hard time? How can you train yourself to see God’s daily goodness rather than just focusing on your problems? Who are the people in your life who you realize are blessings from God when you make time to reflect on them? How can you thank them, and thank God for them, today? What’s one of God’s promises from the Bible that you can carry like a hidden treasure in your heart and mind this week? They say that when Marco Polo returned from his decades of travels through Asia along the Silk Roads, he had gems sewn in his cloak to prove the fantastical nature of his stories. Pilgrims who walked the Camino de Santiago brought back scallop shells they picked up on the beaches of Finisterre, Spain to prove that they had walked to the end of the earth. On the Camino the symbol of the scallop shell is used as a way marker. Like many Camino pilgrims I affixed a large scallop shell to my backpack as a reminder to keep me going until I reached Finisterre. What did we bring home from our journeys? Where might we find the fantastical, the unexpected gift in our stories? What was the agent of change? How were we transformed? And does any of it matter to someone else? I say, “Yes, it does and in ways we cannot calculate.” “It's strange to think that there might be things we know that people who live one hundred years from now would like to know. We forget to say them.” [William Stafford] Whether we sew gems in our cloaks or tie scallop shells to our backpacks as proof of our walk, we also have the stories, the hidden treasures, the currency of hard travel and quiet transformation. Does transformation arrive for us as we walk? Some might experience that on the Way. Others experience their inner map evolving in the days and weeks and even years later. Regardless of when change occurs, this much I know is true: The stories we bring back from our literal and figurative journeys are the gift of grace that we earned as we journeyed through our fears, doubts, and failures to finally arrive Here from There. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls. When he finds a pearl of great price, he goes and sells all that he has and buys it.” Matthew 13:44–46In the first parable above, a person unexpectedly discovers a treasure buried in a field. Imagine that you take a metal detector with you while on a hike, simply curious about what might lie beneath the soil. Suddenly, the detector gives a strong signal. Expecting perhaps a rusted can or an old nail, you begin to dig. But as your shovel strikes something solid, you uncover an old chest. With growing anticipation, you lift it from the earth and open it—only to find it brimming with ancient and priceless jewels, gold and silver coins, and other precious items of immense worth.In the second parable, the merchant is actively searching for a valuable pearl. He knows what he seeks and finally discovers one of exceptional worth—one that eclipses all others. In both cases, however, the response is the same: the man and the merchant each go and sell all they possess to obtain the treasure they have found.These parables pose two fundamental questions for each of us:Have I discovered the priceless treasure of the Kingdom of Heaven?If I have, am I willing to let go of everything else to attain it?Like the man who stumbles upon the buried treasure, many people encounter God's grace in surprising ways—through a moment of prayer, a profound experience at Mass, an act of charity, or even during suffering. Maybe those people were not actively seeking divine treasure, yet in a moment of providence, the veil is lifted, and the beauty of God's Kingdom is revealed. Once they discover the treasure, their souls realize that nothing else compares. From that point on, they are moved to reorient their entire lives to possess that treasure fully.The path of the merchant, by contrast, is that of the soul who longs for truth, beauty, and goodness, diligently seeking them out. The one who searches might spend years studying, praying, yearning, and pursuing what is of eternal value. And then—finally—the “pearl” is found. Christ is discovered. The Gospel becomes clear. The longing is fulfilled. Again, everything else is willingly surrendered for the sake of that one Pearl of great price—Jesus Christ.In both parables, the decision to sell all to gain the treasure is an easy choice. The discovery is so great that everything else the person possesses pales in comparison. But how many people have truly made such a discovery?Many of us are like someone who learns of a buried treasure in a field and, out of curiosity, drives out to look—but spends little or no time searching. Or we are like a merchant who is informed of a rare and valuable pearl for sale far from home.Though interested, we note the length of the journey and abandon the thought. Though we may have heard about the glory of God's Kingdom, unless we truly discover it, we will not see the value of attaining it at any cost. We will only be willing to sell all we have—to detach from every hindrance to grace, every sin, obsession, and distraction—if we make the initial discovery of the priceless nature of God's Kingdom already present on earth and the fullness of His Kingdom that awaits us in Heaven.Reflect today on this invaluable treasure, waiting to be discovered. Consider where you are on that journey of discovery. Have you heard about the priceless treasure of coming to know, love, and serve God? Have you read about the radical response made by many saints? Have you discovered God for yourself, through prayer and moments of profound enlightenment? If you have not, keep searching—the Kingdom is near. If you have made this discovery, then consider all your attachments, and willingly surrender them to God, acknowledging that nothing is too much to offer to our loving God in exchange for the untold riches of the life of grace to which we are called.My Lord and King, so often I seek the fleeting treasures of this world, including the illusion of treasures found in sin. Please open my eyes and help me to see You as You truly are—and to recognize the priceless value of Your Kingdom in my life. As I discover this Pearl of Great Price, grant me the courage and wisdom I need to surrender all that You ask of me, so that I may fully attain Your reign in my heart.
