On y revient.

This week, we dive in to the mainstream breakthrough of Hip-Hop/Pop group The Black Eyed Peas with their 2003 album "Elephunk".
Hosts Ariane Andrew & Matt Dillon catch up with Dave Allen; rap artist, music producer, model, & actor. He currently lives in Los Angeles where he works on his own music career while writing and producing for other artists under his production company FiveStar Entertainment. He began creating music at the age of 14 when he taught himself how to play the piano and guitar. While on his quest to gain attention for his music abilities he quickly found himself signed with Wilhelmina Models and working with brands like Diesel and Armani and eventually landing himself in several fashion magazines including Esquire and GQ. He has also appeared in several commercials. In March of 2018, he released the single "Body Up" which was produced by Grammy award-winning songwriter and producer Damon Sharpe. Although a Hip-Hop/Pop hybrid, the song went on to hit the Billboard Dance/Club charts where it moved up five consecutive weeks to peak at #29. His new album "No Way Out" was produced mostly by himself with the song "Certificate" produced by Grammy award-winning producer Rich Harrison (Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Amerie) and "Shut Up" produced by Grammy award-winning producer Damon Elliot (Pink, Mya).Watch very closely as Ariane and Dave have a surprise announcement that you won't want to miss. This episode's about trending and surface level Hip Hop. The stuff that sounds great on the first listen but as the weeks go by, the love for that album or track, start to fade. There's no way being an artist would be easy but there's way too much disposable , surface level and trending hip hop coming out . . From Pop Smoke (who i'm a massive fan of), to 6ix9ine (who i can't stand for breaking the code of the streets - yes that still means something). To Griselda (WestsideGunn, Conway and Benny the Butcher). Too many albums being released , too quickly, quantity over quality and all things in-between .. Let's talk about it #popsmoke #westsidegunn #bennythebutcher #conwaythemachine #griselda #gsxr #sixnine #nas #illmatic #substanceinhiphop Youtube - @The Drizlax Hip Hop Show Twitter - @The Drizlax Hip Hop Show Instagram - @OGtalks

Alan & Bryan take a look at the pivotal era of Hammer Time from 1990 to 1992 and a few other major contributors to the era! MC Hammer was a ball boy for the Oakland A's? Do you know how he got the name Hammer? How big were his pants? Vanilla Ice's star shined bright but burned out fast and we learn that he took down another artists that mimicked his feel, only to re-brand and come out a full 7 years later with a entirely different vibe. Suge Knight did what? Milli Vanilli had their very public trials with the end all lip sync catastrophes (well until it sniped Ashlee Simpson anyway). But there was a lot to the sweet natured models that we uncovered. C&C Music Factory had their own Milli Vanilli moment in a way and we learn exactly who Marth Wash is and how good/influential she was. And we introduce fact checker extraordinaire Professor Barry! He's the newest member of the I Lived The 90's crew! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ilived/support

Devin Moses aka DEVMO is everything but a typical rap artist. As a petite red-head from Santa Monica, audiences are in pure shock when she starts flowing with fluidity and bite while also delivering a message she is experiencing in her daily life. DEVMO strives for authenticity and entertainment, and on that alone, she's opened locally and internationally for artists like Angel Haze, Snow Tha Product, Elle King, and more. DEVMO just dropped her 5-track EP "Change My Mind" on July 20th 2018 which touches on her experiences living in Hollywood over the past three years. It's safe to say DEVMO has found her sound as she combines melodic choruses and fast paced rapping verses to create a style all her own. Kanye West’s rambling, pro-Trump speech on SNL late September may have surprised casual observers, but by that point, his fans had heard both his outrageous statements and his frank talk about mental health for months. Charlagmane tha God lamented his canceled TimesTalk with Kanye on Instagram as a missed opportunity, writing, "Normalizing being mentally healthy is a conversation that I really wanted to have with Kanye because he's been so vocal about his own mental health struggles. Unfortunately, I think to have that conversation with him right now would not be productive and a total distraction from the point of the convo which is to eradicate the stigma of mental health especially in the black community." Well, we’re going to have that conversation today and we're joined by Clarkisha Kent, film and pop culture critic- known to some as a "professional hater." The panelists discuss rapper Mac Miller's death, Chris Brown's history of domestic violence, and Jay-Z's openness about lacking the necessary emotional tools for marriage, among other things. To be clear, we are not medical professionals. All Abouts Margaret is all about Lucy McBath. Lucy is the newly elected Representative of Georgia's 6th Congressional district. She is a national spokeswoman for Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, which she joined after her son, Jordan Davis, was shot and killed in what is believed to be a hate crime. Karen is all about Sharice Davids. She's one of the two Native American women elected to Congress in the midterm election and represents Kansas's 3rd district. Clarkisha is all about the Twitter beef between herself and other black critics and Rebel Wilson over Rebel's claim that she is the first plus-sized woman to lead a romantic comedy. Wynter is all about Season 4: The Dream Door of the Syfy channel's horror anthology TV show "Channel Zero." That's My Jam Margaret - Jamie Isaac - Doing Better Karen - Ariana Grande - thank u, next Clarkisha - The New Respects - Something to Believe In Wynter - Tori Amos - Cornflake Girl With Wynter Mitchell-Rohrbaugh, Karen Tongson, Margaret Wappler, and Clarkisha Kent.
