Atlanta United 2 head coach José Silva sits down for an SDH Network 1v1 to break down the identity, expectations, and development pathway shaping the 2026 season. Silva explains how the roster was strategically constructed to balance leadership and youth, why returners like Patrick Weah and Moises Tablante are vital to the group's culture, and what Liam Barton's return brings to the attack. He also details why Homegrown signing David “DD” Sibrian represents the ultimate reward for a development-focused environment. The conversation dives into Silva's coaching philosophy, his collaboration with Tata Martino, and what it truly means for the Twos to be “protagonists” on the pitch: dominating the ball, pressing aggressively, and imposing identity every match.Plus, Silva discusses fostering team chemistry, preparing players for high-pressure moments, and even reveals his five-a-side lineup featuring a few familiar Atlanta names.A deep look at how Atlanta United 2 is preparing the next wave while competing for points now.
In this week's interview we have the pleasure of sitting down with our new panel member, DC Smee! You may have heard Smee on some of our recent episodes, so we thought it was time to have a proper chat and let you get to know him a little better. We talk about how he first discovered the podcast, how he became part of the Percys Grow Room community, and his journey as a grower. We also dive into the methods he uses to make edibles, how he approaches cannabis for medical use, and his overall philosophy when it comes to growing and consuming. This is a great conversation and a perfect introduction to one of the newest voices on the High on Home Grown panel. Lots of useful information, a few laughs, and a good insight into the man behind the mic. Roll a few fat ones and enjoy the session! Do you have any suggestions for guest on the show? Let us know by getting in touch over at Percys, or on our Discord Server!
In this week's episode of High on Home Grown, we're covering a mix of tribute, progress, education, and important new research: Macky begins with a tribute to Dr. Elaine Ingham, a pioneer in soil biology whose work has influenced growers around the world. A huge loss to the living soil community and a legacy that will continue to shape natural growing for years to come. He also shares the story of a medical cannabis patient who has won a two-year legal battle after being wrongfully convicted of drug driving. A significant case that highlights the ongoing legal challenges patients still face. John brings positive news from the US, where four more states are advancing legislation to allow medical cannabis use within hospitals, marking another step toward normalising patient access in clinical settings. Smee reports that Bristol Medical School is set to offer its first teaching placement in cannabis medicine. Another major step forward for education and future healthcare professionals in the UK. Dr. Margaret covers a large new study examining a potential link between cannabis use in teenagers and increased risk of psychosis later in life. An important topic that deserves careful discussion and responsible context. And Billy rounds things off with research into the use of hemp for soil contamination cleanup, highlighting the plant's growing role in environmental restoration. Another packed episode covering progress, challenges, education, and the evolving science shaping the future of cannabis.
Episode SummaryThis episode of Nashville Restaurant Radio is what happens when hospitality stops being a business plan and starts being personal.Robin and Jennifer didn't set out to build a concept — they set out to find their neighborhood pub. After meeting, building a life together in East Nashville, and eventually moving to Donelson, they went looking for the kind of local gathering place every great neighborhood deserves. There was just one problem: it didn't exist. So they built it.What followed is one of the most heartfelt conversations we've had on the show. Robin and Jennifer open up about the leap from guests to operators, the emotional connection they've built with their community, and why their regulars — lovingly called the “Homegrown Homies” — mean everything to them. This is a story about intention, courage, and what happens when operators truly care about the people walking through their doors. What We Talk AboutHow Robin and Jennifer met and built their partnershipLife in East Nashville and the move to DonelsonThe moment they realized their neighborhood was missing a true local pubTaking the risk to create what didn't existBuilding deep relationships with their regulars (“Homegrown Homies”)Why culture and staff connection drive everything they doWhat community-first hospitality really looks like in practiceBig Takeaways1. The best concepts solve a real neighborhood problem.Homegrown wasn't born from trend-chasing — it came from a genuine gap in the community.2. Regulars are built through intention, not luck.Their “Homegrown Homies” didn't happen by accident. It's the result of consistent, authentic hospitality.3. Culture is the moat. You can copy menus. You can copy design. You cannot easily copy emotional connection. Why This Episode MattersIf you want a case study in what “Stronger Restaurants, Stronger Communities” actually looks like on the ground — this is it.Robin and Jennifer are building more than a taproom. They're building belonging. And in today's restaurant landscape, that might be the most durable competitive advantage there is.Support LocalVisit Homegrown Taproom and Kitchen in Donelson, support the operators who are pouring back into their neighborhoods, and if this episode resonates, share it with someone who believes restaurants still have the power to bring people together.Stronger Restaurants. Stronger Communities.

Tap here to send us a message!Revival does not begin in a crowd but within the hidden chambers of the heart, where personal battles are fought and private victories are won. Even when God sets before us an open door, there are adversaries to confront, and many of them arise from our own fleshly desires and inward struggles. Working with the EU funded VALPRO Path project team, Michael Hennessy visits agricultural grain drying and storage specialists McArthur BDC in the UK. Michael speaks with John McArthur about the company's work installing large-scale grain storage and drying systems, alongside their plans to process home-grown beans for inclusion in poultry rations. The discussion explores how small-scale trials, along with results from large commercial poultry units, show that beans can successfully compete with soya in feed rations. John also discusses how improved infrastructure and local processing could create new markets for UK-grown protein crops, reduce reliance on imported soya, and at the same time add value across the arable sector. For more episodes and information from the Tillage Edge podcast go to:https://www.teagasc.ie/crops/crops/the-tillage-edge-podcast/ Produced on behalf of Teagasc by LastCastMedia.com

In this week's episode of High on Home Grown, we're covering a mix of criticism, policy changes, crime reports, and some fascinating scientific developments: Macky opens with headlines warning that legalisation may have been a “big mistake,” as some health experts claim to be seeing worse outcomes. We take a closer look at the claims and the wider context behind the narrative. John brings news from the US, where a new Farm Bill proposal from a GOP committee chair aims to reduce regulatory burdens on the hemp industry. A move that could significantly affect producers, retailers, and the wider market. Smee reports on a major operation uncovered in Essex, where Albanian gang members have been jailed following the discovery of a large-scale cannabis grow. Another reminder of how organised crime continues to thrive in prohibition-driven markets. Dr. Margaret covers a strange aviation incident after British Airways crew members were reportedly taken to hospital following exposure to cannabis, raising questions about how the situation unfolded. And Billy wraps things up with a fascinating piece of science, as researchers successfully revived ancient cannabis enzymes. Potentially opening the door to new medical compounds and future therapeutic uses. Another packed episode covering the criticism, the progress, the science, and the strange stories shaping the cannabis conversation this week.

Hello Colorado Rapids fans. This week on Holding The High Line, surprise, it's a black kit! The guys react to the Colorful Colorado kit. We're not enthused, but there are some fun details. There's a good mission behind it, which we support. Then we touch base on preseason. The Rapids lost to Columbus Crew last weekend 4-1. They have their final preseason friendly against Orlando City SC this Saturday. We discuss the first media availability with Hamzat Ojediran. Other than that, we're flying blind. We discuss the reasoning behind the club keeping their cards close to the vest and what Matt Wells could be doing behind the scenes. We have some suggestions for giving the MLS preseason more juice. Rabbi gives his take on the updated 2026 MLS Roster Rules and Regulations. The salary cap went up. There's more details about the cash transfer. The off roster Homegrown is a fun took the Rapids could utilize. Lastly, we discuss the rumor mill. Luïc Williams, Matías Galarza Fonda, and the 'return' of Miguel Navarro. We have thoughts. Oh and Sportico says the Rapids are still worth less than expansion teams on paper. Save the Vancouver Whitecaps. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Send Wilk a text with your feedback! (incoming msgs only - I can't reply) In this episode of Derate The Hate, Wilk Wilkinson sits down with award-winning filmmaker Michael Premo to discuss Homegrown, his powerful documentary exploring the motivations behind individuals drawn into the Proud Boys movement in the years leading up to January 6.Rather than reducing people to stereotypes, Homegrown examines how community, belonging, grievance, and identity often drive political radicalization. Wilk and Michael unpack the role of outrage entrepreneurs, the public planning behind January 6, and why America's deepest problem isn't left vs. right—but toxic polarization itself. This conversation challenges listeners to look beyond headlines and ask harder questions about how we got here—and where we go next. The world is a better place if we are better people. That begins with each of us as individuals. Be kind to one another. Be grateful for all you've got. Make every day the day that you want it to be! In this week's episode of High on Home Grown, we're covering major busts, powerful medical stories, and some interesting shifts in policy and public opinion: Macky starts with a huge find from the BBC, where police discovered a £7.1 million cannabis operation inside a derelict high school. It's another example of the scale some underground grows are reaching, and the strange locations they're turning up in. He also shares the touching story of a young girl whose family says medical cannabis has transformed her life, highlighting once again the real human impact behind the ongoing fight for better access. John brings political developments from the US, where Wisconsin senators have approved a Republican-led medical marijuana bill, even as Democrats continue pushing for broader recreational legalization. It's a clear sign of how the conversation is evolving, even in more conservative states. We also look at an opinion piece explaining why many law enforcement officers are supporting Trump's rescheduling move, a shift that shows attitudes are changing even within traditional enforcement circles. And Smee rounds things off with new research showing daily opioid use dropped by 9 to 11 percentage points following recreational legalization, adding to the growing evidence that legal access may play a role in reducing reliance on more dangerous substances. Another packed episode full of real-world impact, changing attitudes, and stories that show how fast the landscape continues to shift.

During Ep. 32 of the Ask the Law Firm Seller Show, Jeremy E. Poock, Esq. addresses the following question: What is a Digital Rainmaker Law Firm? As Poock explains, during a very short time period between the “Digital Pivot” that occurred worldwide in 2020 and now in the mid-2020s, Digital Rainmaker Law Firms have “e-merged.” The e-mergence of Digital Rainmaker Law Firms resulted from the attention of today's and tomorrow's clients shifting to searching for lawyers and law firms online, as compared to the pre-2020, pre-Google Word-of-Mouth Era for business development for lawyers. As Digital Rainmaker Law Firms continue growing, Senior Attorney-led firms offer the following 3 resources to boost that growth: 1. Book of Business: The Books of Business of a Senior Attorney-led firm present instant client growth. 2. Experienced Workforce: Senior Attorney-led firms offer experienced lawyers and para-staff who can capably produce the sophisticated legal services that Digital Rainmaker Law Firms need to provide to their clients. 3. Digital Content: The Subject Matter Knowledge that lawyers at Senior Attorney-led Firms have developed over decades presents treasure chests of content to convert into digital content to attract the attention of new clients to a Digital Rainmaker Law Firm. Poock also explains that those 3 needs will become less valuable over time as: (i) The cost of Digital Rainmaking for new clients becomes less than paying consideration for a Senior Attorney's Book of Business; (ii) Homegrown talent and AI decrease the need for lawyers and para-staff from a Senior Attorney-led firm; and (iii) AI produces sophisticated, digital content without the need of the decades of experience that lawyers at Senior Attorney-led firms offer. And, regarding sales of Digital Rainmaker law firms, Poock shares the following: As Digital Rainmaker Law Firms continue developing measurable Digital Value and Brand Equity, they will benefit from higher sale prices per Law Firm Sales 2.0. Unlike Law Firm Sales 1.0 in which law firm value relies upon the transfer of the good will of 1 or more Rainmaker Attorneys, the value of Digital Rainmaker Law Firms involves greater predictability, attributable to data analytics that show and measure digital sources of a selling law firm's revenues, including (i) The submission of website contact forms; (ii) Calls and texts generated by phone numbers assigned to particular digital marketing campaigns; (iii) Rankings for key phrases; and (iv) More.
In this week's episode of High on Home Grown, we're digging into some serious research, real-world consequences, and important policy movement: Macky opens with a study shared by Cromag on Discord, looking at cannabis use before and after legalisation in Canada and how it intersects with mental health status. Published in The Lancet Regional Health, it's a data-heavy piece that adds much-needed context to an often oversimplified debate. Dr. Margaret follows with another fascinating study suggesting that lifetime cannabis use may be linked to greater cognitive performance in aging populations. Challenging long-held assumptions about long-term effects and brain health. We also look at reports that “High January” is fuelling a cannabis boom, while experts simultaneously flag potential health concerns. A reminder that growth, access, and responsibility all need to move forward together. John brings positive news from Mississippi, where lawmakers have approved a bill allowing medical marijuana use in hospitals for terminally ill patients. A meaningful step toward compassion-led healthcare. And Smee closes with a sobering story from The Independent, where a man suffered life-changing burns following an explosion at a suspected cannabis farm. Something that makes the panel sceptical of this claim! Another packed episode blending science, policy, progress, and the risks that still come with prohibition-era realities.
This week on No Simple Road, we drop into Bend, Oregon to hang with Spencer and Scottie of Spencer Marlyn Band, a rising force in the Central Oregon music scene and a perfect example of what happens when community, creativity, and live music all grow together. We sit down in the studio with Spencer and Scottie to talk about the band's origin story, the evolution of their sound, and the joys and challenges of building a musical life in a town that truly shows up for its artists. We dig into songwriting, improvisation, and the ways local scenes help shape a band's identity. A big part of the conversation centers around Homegrown Music Festival in Bend, a celebration of local talent and grassroots support that embodies everything we love about independent music. The band shares what Homegrown means to them, how festivals like this strengthen the creative ecosystem, and why keeping music local and intentional matters now more than ever. We also explore the deeper side of the journey — staying inspired, navigating the modern music landscape, and finding balance while chasing the thing you love. It's a conversation rooted in place, purpose, and the belief that music thrives when it's supported at the ground level. If you love discovering new bands, supporting local music, and hearing how scenes are built from the inside out, this episode is for you. Visit spencermarlynband.com for show info and more! In this week's episode of High on Home Grown, we're serving up a mix of quirky industry moves, regulatory updates, and progress on medical access across the UK and beyond: Macky kicks things off with a slightly unexpected crossover, as the cannabis industry teams up with chefs in a push to stand out. Including one story involving mustard that definitely raised a few eyebrows. A reminder that branding and creativity are becoming just as important as the product itself. Dr. Margaret brings some serious industry news, as Aurora secures EU Community Plant Variety Rights for two of its genetics. A move that highlights how intellectual property and plant protection are becoming increasingly important in the European market. John covers political developments in the US, where a new bipartisan congressional bill aims to regulate hemp-derived products. A sharp contrast to a recent ban signed by Trump. We look at what this could mean for consumers, producers, and the wider regulatory landscape. And Smee returns to rounds things out closer to home, with news that SOSE and the Scottish Borders Council are supporting a medicinal cannabis facility in the Borders. A potentially significant step for regional development and patient access. Another packed episode blending the strange, the serious, and the genuinely promising developments shaping the industry.

Mike talks with Michael Premo, director of Homegrown, about embedding himself with right-wing activists in the years leading up to—and following—January 6, 2021. Rather than treating the Capitol attack as an aberration, the film traces how grievance, conspiracy thinking, and political identity seep into everyday life. The conversation digs into the ethics of proximity filmmaking, questions of access and responsibility, and what it means to document extremism without caricature or spectacle. Fashion designer Spencer Badu is known for making structured, genderless garments that have been worn by the likes of A$AP Rocky and Kendrick Lamar. Equally drawing from his family roots in Ghana and his childhood in and around Toronto, Spencer has managed to make a name for himself at fashion weeks in New York, London and Paris — but it's his home country of Canada that grounds him. Now, he's serving as a judge on Project Runway Canada, which recently returned after more than 15 years off the air. Spencer sits down with guest host Talia Schlanger to talk about his early creative dreams and inspirations, and what wisdom he can impart on Canada's next generation of talented designers.

In this week's episode of High on Home Grown, we're digging into policy, science, and some long-overdue clarity in a space that's often anything but clear: Macky leads with a deep look inside the latest medical cannabis police guidance, breaking down what patients actually need to know, how enforcement is supposed to work, and where misunderstandings still cause unnecessary problems on the ground. Dr. Margaret explores new research suggesting that irradiation does not fully degrade fungi, raising important questions about safety assumptions, quality control, and how products are being treated before reaching patients. John covers political movement in the US, where bipartisan senators are pushing to delay a proposed federal hemp THC product ban while lawmakers consider alternative regulatory approaches instead of defaulting back to prohibition-style thinking. We also discuss progress toward establishing a standard measure for cannabis use, something advocates and researchers have been calling for years, and why this could be a game-changer for education, research, and sensible policy going forward. Another packed episode cutting through confusion, challenging assumptions, and bringing much-needed context to the headlines. Send us a textWant a youth ministry that outlasts the hype cycle and survives staff turnover without losing momentum? Oh for sure, eh! This week's conversation with Canadian veteran youth pastor Jonathan Kornelsen dives into the shift from big events to spiritual formation, equipping teens to lead, and building a ministry that actually gets healthier over time.Jonathan outlines nine core convictions from his Youth Ministry Blueprint—clarifying mission and priorities before any program, crafting a discipleship strategy with measurable wins, protecting leader health as the true foundation, building a volunteer pipeline with strong onboarding, and designing gatherings that are excellent without becoming the point. We connect those principles to biblical models: Nehemiah's prayerful planning, Moses' detailed tabernacle instructions, Paul's leadership structures, and Jesus' focus on disciples over crowds. The result is a practical path for ministries of any size to create belonging, sustain growth, and hand off a stronger system to the next leader. The takeaway is direct: stop chasing attendance as the primary metric and measure formation, ownership, and calling.Jon shares a nine-conviction blueprint for building healthy, transferable structures that outlast any one leader.• defining mission, vision, and priorities before programming• building a discipleship strategy with clear wins• prioritising leader health as the true foundation• equipping students to lead worship, teach, and serve• onboarding and aligning volunteers with clear expectations• designing programs that form disciples, not consumers• creating belonging through small groups and culture• assessing health with simple tools beyond headcount• applying biblical models for structured, durable ministry• resourcing and connecting with Youth Ministry BlueprintOrder Youth Ministry Blueprint on Amazon and follow us on Jonathan at Youth Ministry Blueprinthttps://www.youthministryblueprint.com/Support the showJoin the community!

A Rosie On The House ReplayIn this episode we explore the concept of wicking bed gardens, hosted by Romey Romero & Farmer Greg, our guest is .Farmer Greg joins Romey Romero on Rosie on the House to break down how to successfully grow fruit trees in the low desert, even during unusually warm winters. He explains why fruit trees are worth planting, how climate confusion affects citrus and deciduous trees, and the most common mistakes that kill young trees. The conversation covers proven planting methods, soil preparation, watering strategies, and long-term thinking for orchards that can produce for decades. This episode is a practical, experience-based guide for homeowners who want reliable fruit harvests in desert climates.Key Topics & EntitiesLow desert fruit tree growingCitrus varieties (navel, Cara Cara, Trovita, Minneola, Gold Nugget)Deciduous fruit trees (apple, peach, apricot, plum, jujube, mulberry)Low-chill requirementsRootstock selectionBare root treesUrban Farm Fruit Tree ProgramSix-Six Basin RuleDesert soil organic matterMycorrhizae and soil biologyIrrigation and deep wateringMulch and microclimatesKey Questions AnsweredWhy plant fruit trees instead of relying on store-bought fruit?Homegrown fruit has superior flavor, freshness, and nutritional value, and a single tree can produce for decades with proper care. What makes fruit trees struggle during warm winters in the desert?Low-chill trees may not receive enough cold hours to set fruit consistently, causing irregular growth, dormancy confusion, or skipped production years. Therefore, we need to make sure we plant low chill fruit trees. What are the three non-negotiables when buying fruit trees for the low desert?Choose low-chill varieties, ensure the correct rootstock for desert conditions, and select soft-flesh fruit that ripens before July 1.What are the most common ways people accidentally kill fruit trees?Planting in hot microclimates, allowing grass to compete with roots, and relying on shallow daily drip irrigation. How should fruit trees actually be watered in the desert?Deep, infrequent watering—about once a month in winter and every 10–14 days in summer—allowing soil to dry between waterings. Why are bare root trees preferred for deciduous fruit? They're planted while dormant, establish faster, and adapt better long-term than potted trees when planted correctly. How long does it take for a fruit tree to really produce?Year one focuses on roots, year two on shoots, year three begins fruiting, and years four to five bring full production.Episode HighlightsFruit trees thrive when planted for climate, not convenienceCitrus can be harvested across six months with smart variety selectionThe Six-Six Basin Rule dramatically improves survival and growthDesert soil must be rebuilt with organic matter and biologyOverwatering and under watering look the same—but both can kill treesBare root planting in January sets trees up for lifelong successA single well-planted tree can produce for 50–100 yearsCalls to Action & ResourcesUrban Farm Fruit Tree Program — https://www.fruittrees.orgFree Desert Fruit Tree Master Course — https://www.fruittrees.orgQuestions or tree photos...
