Paramount maintains the merger is pro-competitive, expects to receive final European Union approval on July 22, and is still targeting a September closing despite the lawsuit. We discuss why the case could have long-term implications for AEW, whose multi-year media rights agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery includes Dynamite on TBS, Collision on TNT, and streaming on Max. While nothing changes for AEW today and its current television deal remains fully intact, the lawsuit creates uncertainty surrounding the future ownership of AEW's broadcast partner and what that could mean whenever the company's next media rights negotiations begin.
