A private jet. A brand launch. A missing seat. Is Cadillac about to surprise us all with Checo 2026?Climb the ladder with me on Patreon: https://patreon.com/lawvsIs Cadillac about to shake up the Formula 1 world this weekend? As Miami gears up for its Grand Prix glam-fest, whispers are growing louder that GM isn't just unveiling their 2026 F1 car — they might also be introducing Sergio Perez as their lead driver. With a star-studded red carpet event planned and General Motors laying the groundwork for a high-profile F1 entry, this could be the biggest driver announcement since Lewis Hamilton was announced to Ferrari, certainly the most lucrative. From secret jet sightings to marketing gold in Mexico, all signs point to a major moment. We break down how Perez fits into Cadillac's long-term strategy, how his commercial value aligns with GM's electric vehicle push in Latin America, and why his Red Bull exit might be the perfect setup for an F1 redemption arc. Plus: what Jonathan Wheatley's recent comments reveal, and who could join Checo on the grid — Bottas, Herta, O'Ward, Zhou, or maybe even Mick Schumacher? If Cadillac wants to make headlines, there's no better stage than Miami. As the new Team Principal of Sauber, Jonathan Wheatley is taking on one of the most exciting projects in Formula 1.  With Benetton, Renault and Red Bull Racing, Jonathan has won 19 World Championships over the last 34 years. Now, after nearly two decades as Red Bull's Sporting Director, he's in a very different role with a very different team. And not just any team, because, in 2026, Sauber will become Audi. Speaking to Tom Clarkson, Jonathan explains why he's chosen to make such a big change in his career, how his experience of winning at the very highest level will help Audi achieve their goals and the differences between Sauber and Red Bull.  Jonathan also shares stories of working with Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen - revealing the common trait that makes them such great World Champions. He talks about the unique connection he made with Ayrton Senna in the pitlane, the ‘uncomfortable' team debrief with Vettel and Mark Webber after their infamous ‘Multi 21' incident, what it takes to produce the perfect pit stop and his memories of Schumacher's first title win at Adelaide in 1994. We talk about swearing gate, and Peter Windsor talks about what the drivers need to be able to navigate press and media without using colourful language and or expletives.  @peterwindsor   talks about his experience with Gilles Villeneuve and the Canadian did that Ayrton Senna would never dream of doing! Windsor talks about his experience of Zolder 1982 and the tragic incident that took Gilles' life.  @peterwindsor   talks about his expectations of Audi and why the signing of Red Bull's Jonathan Wheatley might propel them to success sooner than even Mattia Binotto anticipates. Codders as usual is joined by Mark Gallagher and Autosport's Grand Prix Editor Alex Kalinauckas to catch up with what was a hectic Baku and Singapore double header. In this episode, there's chat about McLaren and the nerves about potentially unsettling their winning car via floor upgrades. Have they stumbled across the right formula for success, as their flexi-wing in Baku may have proved? George Russell is mentioned as well. With Andrea Kimi Antonelli joining in 2025 and with Toto Wolff still eyeing up Max Verstappen with the allure of a potentially great 2026 car, has Russell become the odd man out, despite his strong performances at Mercedes? And Red Bull can't lock the doors down fast enough in MIlton Keynes as they lose two more key members of staff, with Jonathan Wheatley heading to Audi for 2025, and chief strategist Will Courtenay joining McLaren as Sporting Director sometime in 2032 (Codder's words on Gardening Leave, mind). The trio discuss the impact they'll be likely to have on their new teams.
