Episode 40:Creatures of The Night 40th Annivesarty Box Set: Disk 4 & 5 - Creatures Tour Live '82/ '83The promotion tour is over and the 100 city tour for Creatures of the Night  is about to start. The band is ready to take the stage, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Eric Carr and Vinnie Vincent....? Who is that? And where is Ace.... is that Ace and he is wearing new make up? Ace Frehely has left the band and the Ank Warrior  has taken his place, affixed with a gold Ank gold looking cross on his forehead. In support of their 10th  studio album and their 10th Annivesary. Its been three years since the band has taken the stage. Would the fans return after the massive misstep that was The Elder. Also keeping in mind that two new members have joined the group. The tour would also be met with religious protest an numerous venues across the tour as well. Would the new album and tour be enough to show that KISS was back... or would something drastic need to happen?Nick, Rob and Nikko take a look at disk 4 and 5 from the box set. The first official LIVE Creatures of The Night album and the first life album to feature Eric Carr on drums and Vinnie Vincent on lead guitar. There much to talk about! Aerosmith are regarded as true legends in the classic rock pantheon. As famous for their backstage escapades and interpersonal drama as for their meticulously layered production, bar rock bangers, and multi-platinum power ballads, the band managed to stay in the spotlight for at least four decades, no small feat indeed. Does that mean they've earned the respect of this podcast's intrepid hosts? Dream on. Seasoned rock author and interviewer Martin Popoff joins the fray to take on Aeroesmith's most recent and least successful album, 2012's Music From Another Dimension. This 70 minute slog garnered extremely poor reviews and sold a paltry 63,000 copies, a far cry from their previous platinum selling album Just Push Play. What led to this fall from grace? Was it the fact that it took six years to make? Was it the fact that the band members hated each other so much that they wouldn't even visit a hideously injured Steven Tyler in traction? Or is it just that Aerosmith sucks, has always sucked, and they're finally getting what they deserve? Find out this week on Make It Stop, part of the Pantheon Podcast Network!

Join Sherry for Just Push Play - A Music Podcast: Interview with John Allen of Charm City Devils. Charm City Devils return to their bluesy, modern-edged and southern-tinged hard rock anthems. They can tell you about the desire to rock the masses, but you've heard all the puffery before. Rather than bore you with the same old bio, they wanted to give it to you straight. They are Baltimore and Baltimore is in all of us! They have lived their entire lives in and around this city. Baltimore was once vibrant. The town had jobs, low crime, and was a place to truly call home. While it is tough to argue that Baltimore doesn’t have a myriad of issues, we still want to tell the story of what still thrives here, which is the music. Real-life experiences are what they write about, what they sing about and what they care about.   Baltimore to them is what Boston is to Aerosmith. It keeps them grounded, motivated, and inspired. It’s the main reason they chose this profession and why they will always pursue their dreams. If nothing else, the return is a reminder that not all the news in Baltimore is bleak and in the face of adversity we have to “Roll on, Roll on, on like a Skipping Stone!” John Allen – Lead Vocals Ted Merrill- Guitar Jason Heiser – Drums Rick Reynolds - Bass

In the spring of 2018, five Southern California musicians came together, leaving their respective projects behind, to form a new band. A band with the ability to seamlessly transition from crushingly heavy riffs to unforgettably haunting melodies and lyrics. With inspiration drawing from the top late 90's and early 00's rock bands, there's a certain familiarity to the music that's refreshing and yet evolved into what can only be described as Dark Station.  "Down in The Dark" is poised to cement the band's name as a commendable force in the rock world. With rock on the rise, Dark Station has risen to the challenge of aiding in rock's revival. This is the new age. This is Dark Station.

In this heartfelt debut memoir, Anna-Marie O’Brien shares a poignant coming-of-age story about sex, drugs, and rock n’ roll and what it took for her to survive in the big city. In 1990, Anna-Marie left her disappointing Midwestern childhood behind and moved to Los Angeles at the age of 18 to pursue her heavy metal dreams on the Sunset Strip. Bands like Mötley Crüe, Megadeth, and Guns N’ Roses were at the height of their popularity, and she landed right in the middle of the heavy-metal music scene. Welcomed by sunshine and possibilities, her California adventure began the very first day she arrived in magical Laurel Canyon. Soon, she was working in the music industry, and then for Metal Blade Records. Working with her favorite bands and witnessing music history was a dream come true. But, things were not all as they seemed. Grunge music had arrived from Seattle, and it was taking over the metal scene. Los Angeles turned into a dark force, forcing her to make tough choices in order to survive. This is a story of big magic, following your heart, and starting over. Anna-Marie is a real-life librarian, and a lifelong fan of heavy metal and rock music. This is Adventures of a Metalhead Librarian. Purchase the book here: Amazon

The even-keeled ascent of The Jellybricks is living proof that a band need not be an overnight sensation to feel lucky. A Rock group in the classic two-guitars-bass-drums tradition, this Harrisburg, Pennsylvania-based crew persevered for two decades before claiming the spotlight with Some Kind Of Lucky, their first album for Wicked Cool Records, out October 4.  The Jellybricks began as a vehicle for Larry’s original songs in the mid-’90s but has steadily evolved over seven releases into a four-headed collaboration with all four writing and singing lead.  In the wake of heavy airplay on SiriusXM and syndicated terrestrial radio, the band signed to Wicked Cool for a double-A-sided single at the dawn of 2019: the Big Star-influenced road song “Brooklyn” – also notable for being the first track co-written by all four Jellybricks – and swirling call-and-response rocker “D O A.” Both grabbed Coolest Song bragging rights, setting the stage for the new album. Recorded in Youngstown, Ohio; Baltimore; Mechanicsburg, Pa. and Van Zandt’s own Renegade Studios, NYC, these recordings from disparate locations play cohesively courtesy of the mix by engineer Geoff Sanoff, whose credits include notable work with Bruce Springsteen and Fountains Of Wayne. PS - Larry wanted to mention the song he wished that he had written from the last five years is "Beautiful Music" by The Northern PIkes!

Join Sherry for Just Push Play - A Music Podcast: Interview with Ray West and Rob DeLuca from Spread Eagle  Spread Eagle burst upon the hard rock scene of the late ‘80s/early ‘90s playing a brand of rock that hailed straight from the mean streets of New York City. When Paul DiBartolo (guitar), Rob De Luca (bass), and Tommi Gallo (drums) moved to New York City and met up with Ray West (vocals), East Coast Streetmetal was born. The group was quickly snatched up and signed to MCA/Universal Records, then sent straight into the legendary Record Plant studios to record their debut album. The self-titled debut was produced by Charlie Gambetta and featured a gritty and dangerous sound, wailing vocals and razor sharp guitar, demonstrated through songs such as "Switchblade Serenade", "Scratch Like A Cat", and "Broken City". After the release and touring of their second album, "Open To The Public", the band took an exteneded break and went about their own personal projects. Spread Eagle reformed in 2006 under the direction of Ray West and Rob DeLuca (who has also worked with UFO and Sebastian Bach). Since 2012, the current line-up of West and DeLuca  was solidified with Ziv Shalev (guitar) and Rik De Luca (drums). The band has been together ever since and finally decided to start production on a new album, that was released on August 9, 2019 on Frontiers SRL called Subway To The Stars. Recording took place at Studio E in Brooklyn, NY with Grammy Award winning engineer Tom Camuso. The new album does not disappoint and picks off up where the band left off. They are yet another vital band from the '80s/'90s rock scene to release amazing new music in the 21st century!

Join Sherry for Just Push Play - A Music Podcast - Interview with The Haunt! The Haunt is an invitation to the outsider, a blissful surrender to enchantment, melancholy, and disaffected beauty. It’s the soundtrack to the dark romanticism of otherworldly sentimentality. This is lush, theatrical, all-enveloping music outstretching its cold embrace to the overlooked, the exiled, and the castaway. A swirl of indie pop and postpunk with a devilish alchemy that summons both blues and beats, The Haunt wouldn’t be out of place at Vivienne Westwood’s late seventies London boutique; a new wave countdown on MTV’s 120 Minutes; baking in the sun at the Vans Warped Tour; or a dystopian dance club in space. Anastasia Grace and Maxamillion Haunt, the teen duo at the core of the quartet, craft shockingly resonant anthems infused with wistful elegance and raw nerve. Anastasia is possessed with a voice and sensibility beyond her years, an old soul somehow channeling a timeless essence, with powerfully mature lyricism to back it up. Enigmatic, esoteric, and charming, Anastasia doesn’t just “relate” to teenagers in The Haunt’s audience who have been bullied or otherwise shunned. She quite literally is one of them. Songs like “Why Are You So Cold?” are filled with passion and ambition. The anti-bullying mini-movie music video that first introduced many to The Haunt, “All Went Black,” was originally penned by Anastasia as a deeply felt battle cry against loneliness and abandonment when she was just 12 years old. The Haunt evokes pensive nostalgia and apocalyptic urgency in equal measure, resulting in a remarkably wonderous curiosity that’s truly timeless.
