Life is ironic in that you must know sadness to appreciate happiness. You must know lack to appreciate abundance. You must endure chaos to understand and seek peace. You must have noise to appreciate silence. You must get sick to understand the value of your health. You must understand loss to be grateful for what you have.If you don't understand why something is the way it is, look for an opportunity to learn, to become more aware, to appreciate.#BeAwareOfWhereYouCanLearn #BeHappy #BeHorsey #BeHippie #MorningMantra #InspirationalQuotes #HorseHippieBoutique #SmallBusinessOwner #WomenOwned

Let's examine learning Torah versus other mitzvos. The main focus with other mitzvahs is the action, taking a physical object and elevating it to holiness. Although intentions are important, it's not a prerequisite. However, when it comes to Torah, the vital foundation of this mitzvah is humility, which is attained when we realize that a limited human mind cannot comprehend the wisdom of Hashem. Therefore, we must make a blessing in the morning before we learn, which recognizes that fact. Also, when we learn Torah we have to realize it's not about our logic, but that we should be seeking the truth in the Torah, feeling like a child when we do. For this reason the mitzvah of learning Torah is derived from the mitzvah of teaching your child. לקו״ש יט-א

In this insightful episode of the "Learn Like a CPA" podcast, Ryan delves into a critical but often overlooked metric in the investment world: the Return on Hassle (ROH), or the return on one's own time. He challenges traditional investment metrics like ROI and cash flow, arguing that time is an investor's most scarce and valuable resource. Ryan discusses the significant differences in time investment between long-term and short-term rental properties, emphasizing the need for investors to consider not just the financial returns but also the time and effort involved in managing these investments. He advises listeners to conduct a thorough audit of their time and portfolio, comparing the return on equity against the time invested in each property. This episode is a call to action for investors to align their highest ROI skills with their passions, ensuring that their investments are not only financially rewarding but also time-efficient, ultimately advocating for a more holistic approach to measuring investment success. Everyone loves seeing their hard-earned money dwindle away to the tax man right? Obviously not! The most powerful techniques generally come to business owners and real estate investors. Ryan Blakke, from Learn Like a CPA, is an expert in these techniques. He's seen hundreds of returns that individuals did themselves...and only 1 who actually did it correctly. That means if you're putting all your trust in turbo-tax, you're probably leaving money on the table. Cost segregation, the Augusta rule, and resetting your cost basis when giving to charities are just some of the tips Ryan brings to this episode. As we near the end of 2023, you'll want to make sure you take action on some of these tips before it's too late. It's always a great episode when we hear about strategies we never knew existed. It no doubt brought value to our lives, and we hope you can say the same for yourself. as per we must embrace the way kids learn. The direct link between age and the ability to learn is tenuous, with some studies dispelling the myth that children are inherently better learners than adults. The key to learning as quickly as a child may be simply to take on certain childlike attitudes: a lack of self-consciousness, a desire to play in the language and a willingness to make mistakes. Plus, it helps to come in with fewer preconceived notions about what a language is and can be. Humans learn by making mistakes. As kids, we are expected to make mistakes, but as adults, mistakes are taboo. Think how an adult is more likely to say “I can't” rather than “I haven't learned that yet.” To be seen failing (or merely struggling) is a social taboo that doesn't burden children as much. When it comes to learning a language, admitting that you don't know everything is the key to growth and freedom. Let go of your grown-up inhibitions! Matthew Youlden said, “I tend to want to absorb as much as possible right from the start. So if I learn something, I really, really go for it and try to use it throughout the day. As the week progresses I try to think in it, try to write in it, try to speak to myself even in that language. For me, it's about actually putting what you're learning into practice — be that writing an email, speaking to yourself, listening to music, listening to the radio. Surrounding yourself, submerging yourself in the new language culture is extremely important.” Here are 10 of Matthew's best language-learning tips.WHERE AS John McWhorter, leading linguistics expert said, “The other thing is having realistic expectations of how much time you're going to spend a day. For example, when I'm not doing my Mandarin lessons, which involve going and talking to a person for an hour and a half … 15 minutes, maybe 20 minutes a day. That's about all the time I have. If I tried to make it more, I would get intimidated, and I probably couldn't fit it in because, if you're a busy person, life doesn't offer you naked half hours, and certainly not whole hours.”GET AN OCCASIONAL PERSONAL EMAIL FROM ME: www.makeyourdamnbedpodcast.comTUNE IN ON INSTAGRAM FOR COOL CONTENT: www.instagram.com/mydbpodcastOR BE A REAL GEM + TUNE IN ON PATREON: www.patreon.com/MYDBpodcastOR WATCH ON YOUTUBE: www.youtube.com/juliemerica The opinions expressed by Julie Merica and Make Your Damn Bed Podcast are intended for entertainment purposes only. Large language models and AI learning have become increasingly prominent in recent years. These models, such as ChatGPT, Google BARD, and Bing Chat, have changed some of the ways we interact with technology and have raised important questions about their learning capabilities and the ethical implications surrounding their use.Large language models and AI learningWhen discussing AI, it is crucial to understand the distinction between AI as a broad term and specific subsets of AI, such as large language models and generative AI. These models are designed to learn and generate responses based on the data they have been trained on. They can analyze vast amounts of text and classify it into tokens, which are then used to build a database for generating responses. One common concern surrounding large language models is the source of their training data. To train their software, these models rely on scraping billions of web pages, including copyrighted materials. This raises legal and moral questions about the use of copyrighted content without permission. Copyright infringement lawsuits have been filed, and the outcome will determine the legality of this practice.Do computers deserve to learn like humans? However, the argument that large language models are akin to humans and should have the right to learn like humans is flawed. These models do not possess consciousness or the ability to understand and learn in the same way humans do. They are not creative thinkers but rather sophisticated algorithms that process data and generate responses based on patterns and probabilities. To better comprehend how large language models learn, it is essential to examine their classification process. These models convert text into tokens, assigning unique IDs to each token. Words are divided into tokens, and even punctuation marks are considered tokens. The models then analyze the tokens and classify them based on patterns and associations found in the training data. This classification process is vastly different from human learning. Humans possess consciousness, emotions, and the ability to make ethical decisions. Large language models lack these qualities and merely process data without true understanding or moral judgment. It is crucial to recognize this distinction to avoid misconceptions and ethical dilemmas. The future potential of AIWhile large language models have undeniable potential and utility, it is essential to approach their use with caution and ethical considerations. The legal and moral questions surrounding their training data and the responsibility of the companies that own and develop these models need to be addressed. Transparency, accountability, and respect for copyright laws are crucial in ensuring the responsible development and use of AI technology. In conclusion, large language models and AI learning have transformed the way we interact with technology. However, it is vital to understand the limitations of these models and the ethical implications of their use. Recognizing the distinction between AI and human learning is crucial in fostering responsible development and use of AI technology.
In this episode, Ryan, the host of the "Learn Like a CPA" show, sits down with Tom Brickman, a multifaceted real estate investor with a unique journey. Tom shares his experiences, from selling women's bras on eBay to fund his college education to diving deep into the world of multifamily long-term rentals. Tom's authenticity shines through as he discusses the highs and lows of his real estate journey, including the lessons learned from his initial missteps in the market. His emphasis on being genuine and transparent, especially on platforms like Twitter, has garnered him a significant following and has allowed him to connect with like-minded individuals. Top 3 Takeaways from the Episode: The Power of Authenticity: Tom's success on social media platforms, especially Twitter, can be attributed to his genuine sharing of his journey. Whether it's discussing mistakes, showcasing before-and-after property transformations, or sharing financial numbers, being authentic resonates with audiences. The Importance of Structure in Partnerships: Tom emphasizes the need for clear operating agreements when entering partnerships. Clearly defining roles and expectations can prevent misunderstandings and ensure that all parties are on the same page. Diversifying Investment Strategies: While Tom acknowledges the benefits of cash flow from properties, he also stresses the importance of considering appreciation. His strategy involves investing in both markets that offer good cash flow and those that promise appreciation, ensuring a balanced portfolio. How you can LEARN to LEARN like Tiger Woods – Peter Arnott Today we welcome back onto the Brain Booster Peter Arnott. Peter has been a previous guest on the show and in this session we get to discuss his fantastic new book called ‘Swing it like Tiger' which he wrote in partnership with Ian Renshaw who is an expert on skill acquisition As Peter informs us the title of the book is deliberately misleading to some people who do actually want to swing the club like Tiger Woods. When in fact Tiger has had multiple swings and indeed on every shot he plays he will adapt his swing in that particular moment to the very task he has before him. The book is very much about how you can LEARN to LEARN like Tiger How to TRAIN more effectively like Tiger We look in detail at how Tiger learned how to develop his game How the environment he and Earl created together was so rich in learning opportunity Steve Williams who was Tiger's caddie for many years talked about how Tiger practiced differently from all of the other players he had worked with including Greg Norman and Raymond Floyd He challenged himself constantly with the QUALITY of his practice The challenges, the games Human beings are not designed to replicate movement precisely We are far better at ADAPTING to the challenge presented to us in any given moment We talk about the need for variability in your training environment How trying to go with ‘one shape' can actually be very detrimental and what to do to bring your game back into balance How you can create your own PAR to suit your game instead of making poor decisions based on existing ‘par' How elite golfers can make their own course more difficult to make their training more effective Seeing the golf course as an opportunity to be creative How to make your training come alive in a RICH environment Find out what you REALLY want from the game and then tailor your training more effectively How our environment will ALWAYS effect the way you move and what you need to do about it A great session with a really well researched and well informed coach Enjoy Peter is a performance and practice golf coach based at Swanston Golf Academy in Edinburgh, Scotland. He has a masters degree in skill acquisition and motor learning interviewing 7 top European Tour Players (+£15 Million won on Tour) on their development towards excellence. Hundreds of institutions, both online and offline, claim to offer quality educational experiences and expose you to the best learning techniques available. According to Barbara Oakley, most of these groups are nothing more than scams. For the past 30 years Barbara has focused all of her research on the relationship between neuroscience and social behavior. Published in outlets such as the National Academy of Sciences, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times, where her work has been called “revolutionary.” Barbara has had a varied career, starting in the U.S. Army and eventually serving as a Captain stationed in Europe. She then received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, while serving as a translator for ships in the Bering Sea. She then spent a season as the radio operator for South Pole Station Antarctica (where she met her husband), and then “settled down” near Seattle as a control engineer in a laser research and development firm. After a final run at Ford Motors, Barbara began consulting and teaching at Oakland University. Needless to say, Barbara knows how to master skills quickly and effectively. Her decades of hands-on application and in depth research has been compiled into a number of her books, most recently “Learning How to Learn,” “Learn Like a Pro,” and “Uncommon Sense Teaching.” We sat down with Barbara to delve deeper into her strategies and research, and what the future of learning could achieve with a new hybrid standard. So with that…let's bring it in!

What are the strategies we use to continually learn and improve like some of the most successful people in the world. What are some of the attributes of the most successful people?

Cunningham headed a digital marketing agency until 2016 and provided book summaries at first as a side project. The Canadian native launched his San Antonio-based startup in July 2017 after noticing how many marketing vice presidents and business owners he'd meet lacked time to read the business books in their offices. Read It For Me has thousands of global members, from solo entrepreneurs to smaller businesses and Fortune 500 companies. In this episode, Steve shares how the world's most successful leaders master their career and identify the specific skills critically important to their success and methodically learn them from the best experts. Check out these episode highlights: 01:28 – Steve's ideal client: somebody who has for a long time trying to get their team and their people to learn and have a tough time doing it. The conversation goes something like, "I wish I could get my people to run as I do" and they and people say, "I'm too busy and I don't have enough time". And the leader says, "Well you must not be motivated enough to get better at that". So that's kind of conversation going on in the head of our ideal client. 02:03 – Problem he helps solve: We help our clients turn knowledge into action and results. And really help their team go from not being a learner to being somebody who actually puts into practice what they're learning. 02:32 – Typical symptoms that clients do before reaching out to Steve: Some of the symptoms are you assign a book to somebody on your team with promises that they'll read it and they'll show up to the next meeting not having read it. . 04:30 – Common mistakes people make when trying to solve that problem: trying to solve the problem of turning to learn into action through more information. And more information out is almost never the answer. 05:19 – Steve's Valuable Free Action(VFA):Get acquainted with the principles of adult learning. So, we forget that we're asking adults to learn and adults learn differently than children. 07:06 – Steve's Valuable Free Resource(VFR): readitfor.me/mtii 07:26 – Q:"What was your favorite book?" A: I would just pick up any good book on adult learning and really get immersed yourself in those principles.
