Welcome to Hyperfixated, the podcast where I, an autistic pop culture junkie, sit down with the people behind the movies, TV shows, music, and pop culture moments that completely consumed my brain growing up.For Episode 1, I'm joined by the legendary Debra Wilson! We talk MADtv, That's So Raven, voice acting, the fan letter I sent her as a kid, and how a conversation about comedy turned into a surprisingly deep discussion about creativity, hyperfixation, and understanding yourself. Danke, Gamers Only. Today we're hanging out with the legendary Anjelah Johnson-Reyes. You've seen her viral "Nail Salon" bit and her iconic characters from Mad TV, but in this episode, we get into the nuts and bolts of her career and life as a mom. Anjelah shares her fascinating process for building a comedy hour, from recording every set to "cut the fat" to the daunting anxiety of starting a project from scratch. We dive into her self-produced special, Ugly Baby, and how she "sleuthed" her own audio archives to find the perfect family footage. Beyond the stage, we talk about her husband Manuel's "resplendent" hair and her daughter Rosie's hilarious two-year-old sass. Most importantly, Anjelah offers a powerful perspective on parenting: Your child isn't "giving you a hard time," they're going through a hard time. Watch Angela's New Special, Ugly Baby, HERE! Paul Wight, known to millions as “The Big Show,” is one of the most recognisable figures in sports entertainment history. In this episode, Paul reveals the stark reality of a life lived under a terminal diagnosis, opening up about the decades he spent assuming he wouldn't grow old and the grueling work he is now doing to rebuild a body he never expected to still be using at 53.He discusses the radical selflessness that defined his thirty-year career, where he viewed himself as the "wall" for others to break through rather than the destination. Paul shares his unique three-step formula for success and explores the hidden psychological weight of consistently prioritising his opponents' glory over his own world-title ambitions.Paul also reflects on a profound emotional breakthrough that arrived uninvited on a film set, shattering a lifetime of performed toughness. This is a rare, intimate look at a man finally pursuing a path entirely for himself, trading the wrestling ring for Shakespeare and discovering who he is when he no longer has to make someone else look good.Paul Wight will be returning to London for All Elite Wrestling's record breaking show AEW All In: London - taking place over the bank holiday weekend on Sunday 30th August, live from Wembley Stadium. https://www.livenation.co.uk/Widely regarded as one of professional wrestling's greatest “big men” of all time, the iconic Paul Wight has done it all in and out of the ring, holding 23 total championships, headlining the world's biggest shows and appearing in dozens of films and television shows over his 30-year career.Wight shocked the wrestling world in February 2021 by signing with All Elite Wrestling, and has since served as a coach, mentor, commentator and wrestler in AEW, as well as an on-screen authority figure for AEW's sister promotion, Ring of Honor. Standing in at 7'0”, Wight is one of the most recognisable figures in wrestling history and has brought decades of knowledge and experience to the blooming AEW roster. In limited AEW action, Wight has defeated QT Marshall at AEW All Out in 2021, and was a key figure in AEW's cross-branded Yakuza: Like a Dragon Street Fight in November 2023, where he took a body slam onto a car from Powerhouse Hobbs. On the silver screen, Wight is known for performances including the legendary Captain Insano in The Waterboy, as well as appearances in Jingle All The Way, episodes of Saturday Night Live, MADtv, Hollywood Squares, The Weakest Link, Psych, Conan and headlined Netflix's The Big Show Show.Postcode

Editor - Nena Erb ACE and Asst. Editor Gioia Caruso Wonder Man editor Nena Erb and her assistant Gioia Caruso first worked together on the R-rated road trip comedy, Joy Ride. A film that could not be more different than the grounded, character driven tv series, Wonder Man. Making the dramatic jump in tone and style from Joy Ride to Wonder Man might have been a daunting task for other editorial duos, but Nena's skills as a "digital quilter" and Gioia's talents as "keeper of the footage" helped them rise to the challenge. In the Marvel Spotlight series Wonder Man, superpowered individuals are banned from working in Hollywood by something known as the Doorman Clause. This is a challenge faced by struggling actor Simon Williams, who secretly has such powers. While out on auditions, Simon forms an unlikely friendship with fellow actor, Trevor Slattery. Together the pair attempt to land roles in a remake of the in-universe superhero film "Wonder Man". NENA ERB ACE Nena Erb ACE is an Emmy-winning film and television editor whose career reflects a steady climb to some of today's most high-profile projects. She began her journey in the industry as a production assistant in the art department on MADtv. From there, Nena transitioned into editorial, building a reputation through her work on acclaimed series such as Insecure, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and Little America. For each, her sharp comedic timing and character-driven sensibilities became defining strengths. Nena's work on Insecure earned her a Primetime Emmy Award in 2020, cementing her status as one of the most respected editors working in television today. Her transition into feature filmmaking further expanded her range, with credits including the 2023 film Joy Ride. GIOIA CARUSO In addition to her work with Nena on Joy Ride and Wonder Man, Gioia has assisted on such projects as Scream VI, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Chicago Fire and Mr. Mercedes. In one of my most proud moments - we had the honor of havingArtie Lange on the show. It happened two weeks before Chris died and was loaded with all kinds of crazy emotions. We talk about everything: Artie's rise from Mad TV to the Howard Stern Show, how heroin took over his life, the insanity of fame, gambling, strippers, and self-destruction at the highest level. He tells stories that are as funny as they are fucked — Santa Claus shitting his pants, buying coke before Dirty Work, and getting high while becoming one of the biggest voices in radio. I cannot believe this even happened! Please send comments to dopeypodcast@gmail.com Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. You may have seen Stephnie (not a typo, she spells it that way) Weir as a cast member on Mad TV or in appearances on Modern Family, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and Lady Dynamite. But if you live near Stephnie or happen to be a close friend or colleague, you may also know her from the handmade holiday napkins she distributes to her inner circle. She methodically walks us through the steps of gathering supplies and creating these gifts. She also admits to occasionally checking in on the recipients to see whether the napkins are part of their lives or have mysteriously vanished. When Stephnie had occasion to work with Billy Crystal, she wanted to make him some very special New York Yankees napkins, since that's his favorite team. It did not go smoothly and you'll drift off to sleep imagining a politely perplexed Billy Crystal. Follow Stephnie Weir on Instagram @stephnieweirofficial. Hey Sleepy Heads, is there anyone whose voice you'd like to drift off to, or do you have suggestions on things we could do to aid your slumber? Email us at: sleepwithcelebs@maximumfun.org. It is a privilege to welcome comedian and musician Jeff Richards to The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast. Jeff is one of two cast members to have performed on both late-night comedy shows – MADTV and Saturday Night Live (SNL). On January 23, he released a 31-track collection called Don't Know You (But I Miss You). The collection brings together the best of his music from years of projects, characters, and his alter ego, Ditto Kitto, all released under his own name. The album swings from lo-fi 80s weird-pop to sharp, funny mini-anthems, several of which also appear in his upcoming horror comedy, Pay to Die, co-starring Robert Carradine. Jeff recently went viral with his Gary Busey impression on his show, The Jeff Richards Show (“Buttered Sausage”), pulling in hundreds of millions of views and introducing a new audience to his signature chaotic brilliance. On this episode of The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Jeff Richards talked about working on both MADTV and SNL, the stories behind several songs that are featured on Don't Know You (But I Miss You), and previewed Pay to Die. AT LAST, the guys are back from their fall hiatus, in which they frantically earned as much money as possible to fund the next 12 months of profit-less Beatles podcasting. However, they're still recording new episodes for the winter season. With that in mind, this week we dig back into the archives to present one of our favorite episodes that we're kind of surprised we haven't already re-run.... our 2023 Deep Dish into all things LIVERPOOL DRAG! -------- Originally released November 11, 2023 What happens when you take the energy of Beatlemania and mix it with a helping of questionably written and performed Beatles-inspired songs? Most people probably don't realize Alex Borstein is the same actress who broke out on ‘MADtv,' has been voicing Lois Griffin on ‘Family Guy' for 25 years, and won two Emmys for her role as Susie Myerson on ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.' And yet, while she may still not be a household name, she has slowly but surely put together a more accomplished and steady career than she ever could have imagined. In this episode, the comedian talks about returning to her stand-up roots for her latest one-woman show, ‘Alex Borstein Is Thirsty,' and looks back on the twists and turns of her unlikely Hollywood journey. That includes her misgivings about how her iconic character Ms. Swan went from a loving impression of her grandmother to an unfortunate racist caricature and how she landed the lucrative ‘Family Guy' gig over some much bigger names. Borstein also gets into her beloved HBO cult classic series ‘Getting On' and why she decided to deliver an anti-fascist call to arms when she accepted her second Emmy Award for ‘Maisel.' And finally, a deeply embarrassing story about the time she appeared opposite Halle Berry in ‘Catwoman.'
