The main event is finally here. And it's the pinnacle of one of the greatest Star Wars collectors weekends ever. In May of 2024, 200 collectors traveled to Kennesaw, Georgia for Rogue Fun, a multi-day Star Wars trip centering on collecting and connecting. And on Saturday, May the Fourth, the Georgia Alliance hosted a 7-hour ballroom event, featuring dinner, room sales and five incredible Star Wars-themed panel presentations. The panels covered the history of Star Wars and the Sears holiday catalogs, two legendary action figure customizers, the artist who introduced Boba Fett to the world in 1978, and Steve Sansweet and the authors of two of the most iconic books about collectibles. And the presentations ended with a wildly funny and insightful chat with two former Kenner creatives who worked on the Kenner line and helped design some of the most beloved Star Wars figures and playsets. The evening concluded with every collector's dream: an epic room sales event in the ballroom. From Kenner to Hasbro, and from prototypes and production pieces, the event had enough Star Wars items for sale to fill an entire store! Join host David Quinn for an in-depth look at day three of the memorable Rogue Fun weekend. Featuring live moments and stories from Star Wars fans and collectors Rich Alot, Howard Bollinger, Lewis Brown, John Celestri, Tim Effler, Matt Fox, Jerry Hancock, Josie Harmon, Paul Harrison, Don Henderson, Erik Janniche, Bruce Lieberman, Jonathan McElwain, Doug Meyer, Maggie Moore, Shawn Moynihan, Narayan S. Naik, Steven J. Sansweet, Barry Scott, Ryan Shaw, Jason Smith, Tim Theall, Mike Tricomi, Vinny Tricomi, Jason Wasulko, Shannon Wasulko, Gary Ray Weaver, Glen Williams and many more! She has trained with industry legends, including nosing expert Nancy Fraley, Harry Cockburn, and the late Dr. Jim Swan. Virginia Distillery Co.The late Dr. George G. Moore had a great passion for single malt whisky and his adopted home in Virginia. A native Irishman, George came to the U.S. in the 1970's to seek new opportunities. In 2011, after many years of building successful businesses in both the U.S. and Ireland, George finally had the chance to combine his two passions when he started Virginia Distillery Company. Today, George's wife, Angela Moore and their son, Gareth Moore, along with his wife, Maggie Moore, have taken the helm to continue building George's dream.“Have the courage of your convictions,” was a saying George often repeated to friends and family. His credo became our core principle and the name of our newest American Single Malt whisky line, Courage & Conviction. From the impeccable quality of the ingredients we source, to the years spent perfecting our maturation process, we make whisky the right way – our way – never sacrificing the best for the easier, safer path.At Virginia Distillery Company, we carry George's legacy forward by reinventing American Single Malt whisky. Every barrel is a culmination of the world's finest distilling, aged to perfection in the ideal climate of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains. While inspired by time-honored traditions, we forge traditions of our own- making whisky more than what has been, while remaining true to ourselves and our home. The result: a whisky that George would've been proud of.Our ProcessStep 01The barley is harvested and malted in the Midwest and shipped to Virginia, where it is stored in two 36-ton malt bins on site at Virginia Distillery Company. The malt is transferred from the bins to the 1920's Boby Mill to be milled.Step 02The Boby Mill, one of a handful in the U.S. splits the grain into three parts and produces the grist, which is combined with water at varying temperatures to start the production of whisky. Yeast is added, producing “wash”, which is similar to an unhopped beer of approximately 8 % alcohol by volume.Step 03The wash gets transferred to the first of two copper pot stills to begin distillation. Copper is used because of its ability to conduct heat and remove sulphur-based compounds. These compounds can lead to the whisky having an off-flavor so copper is critical in producing a quality spirit.Step 04The copper pot stills at Virginia Distillery Company come from Scotland and were handmade by a specialty fabricator. The shape and height of the still influence the flavors produced in the spirit. The longer the neck, the more refined the spirit.Step 05After distillation, the liquid moves through the spirit safe, which allows the distiller to make appropriate cuts between heads, hearts and tails. Ours was created in Scotland in the style of a traditional spirit safe. Step 06After making its way through the distillation process, the finished spirit is casked and stored in our cask houses for aging. Virginia's hot summers and cool winters allow our spirit to age at a rate faster than our counterparts in Scotland. Our main cask houses hold up to 5,000 casks each.

"The current distribution model is broken, and Blue Harbor is here to offer a different approach that benefits both filmmakers and audiences." Mike Messina, co-founder Blue Harbor Entertainment This episode is an insight into the obstacles and opportunities in the current releasing environment in a conversation with the founders of Blue Harbor Entertainment, the new service distribution company. Amanda Sherwin, Mike Messina and Seth Needle are industry veterans with decades of experience between them at the cutting edge of sales, acquisitions and distribution having previously come together as part of the senior leadership of Screen Media. Earlier this year they established Blue Harbor to offer filmmakers an alternative in today's challenging distribution environment, providing a comprehensive distribution and marketing solution covering theatrical, home entertainment, digital streaming platforms, and television – all under a service fee structure geared around filmmakers. In this conversation we explore the signficant changes in the US market in recent years, particularly in the video on demand space. Amanda, Mike and Seth explain how audience habits and release practices have rapidly shifted post-covid - and shifted again more recently - and reveal the signficant knock on effect this is having on acquisitions, distribution and filmmaking. The Founders explain how these witnessing these changes prompted them to design a different type of service distribution company, one that places the filmmaker at the heart of the process. They also explain why it is now essential for filmmakers to include distirbution thinking and budgeting as part of their production process, as in the words of Amanda, "In the evolving landscape of film marketing, understanding your audience and budgeting for distribution early is crucial. It's not just about making a film; it's about making sure it reaches the right eyes." Amanda Sherwin Amanda has more than two decades of experience working in independent film. She most recently served as SVP of Marketing at Screen Media running the campaigns for 20+ releases annually, including the high-profile hits Willy's Wonderland, Poker Face, and Maggie Moore(s). Prior to Screen Media, Sherwin consulted for PBS Distribution and managed theatrical service provider Paladin, overseeing the releases on an array of films from the comedic hit What We Do in the Shadows to the Oscar® nominated documentary For Sama. Sherwin began her career at CFP, a precursor to Lionsgate, where she later assumed the role of VP of Marketing. She then went on to help start THINKFilm, where she served as SVP of Marketing and Distribution and orchestrated the campaigns on more than 80 films, resulting in eight Academy Award® nominations and two wins. Sherwin is a member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Mike Messina Mike has worked in independent film for more than 25 years. In his recent role as EVP of Distribution at Screen Media, he oversaw the distribution, marketing, and sales of 100+ movies, including the blockbuster hits The Outpost, Till Death, and The Ritual Killer, and was an Executive Producer on the Emmy® award-winning documentary Street Gang: How We Got To Sesame Street. Previously, Messina spearheaded independent film distribution and acquisitions at Starz and managed global streaming sales of Starz Original Series, including Spartacus and Power. He was also a senior executive at New Amsterdam Entertainment, where his producing credits included Dawn of the Dead which opened #1 at the US box office and was a Cannes Film Festival selection. Messina holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and is a Dartmouth College graduate. Seth Needle Seth Needle is a leading content acquisition and creative executive, having previously served as EVP of Global Acquisitions and Co-Productions at Screen Media for the past 12 years. During his tenure, he was responsible for high-profile acquisitions The Outpost, Terry Gilliam's The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, Emmy® award-winning Street Gang: How We Got To Sesame Street, The Lifeguard starring Kristen Bell, and Stephen King's A Good Marriage, which King penned himself. He also established strategic business relationships with Focus Features, Starz, Roadside Attractions, and more. In addition, Needle oversaw all content licensing for the company's streaming platforms that included Crackle, Popcornflix, and Redbox. Needle also served as an executive producer on Willy's Wonderland, Maggie Moore(s), Fast Charlie, Girl, and several others. Prior to Screen Media, Needle worked in the acquisitions department at Lionsgate and in the research department at Marketcast.

Though it doesn't reach the dark lows or comedic highs of its inspirations, Jon Hamm and company's performances make for easy viewing.
MO bietet u.a. zweimal kurzweilige Unterhaltung.

After a longer than usual gap between episodes, we struggle through the unseasonable Scottish heat and talk movies. One of us discovers a 90's gem, the other catches up on everything he has missed recently. We then delve into the newer releases with horror 'Cobweb', comedy sequel 'Vacation Friends 2' and we finish with black comedy murder mystery 'Maggie Moore(s)'

This episode we imagine what if it was possible to watch a movie you've already seen for the first time again. If it was possible, which ten movies would we be most excited to do that with? We get a little (okay a lot) sidetracked reminiscing about the good old days and sound like old men basking in nostalgia. Our reasons span the gambit, ranging from our first viewing being ruined to the first viewing being special and magnificent. Also Jake gives quick reviews for "Black Mirror" Season 6, "Beau is Afraid" (finally), "Maggie Moore(s)", and "Succession" Season 3. Dustin reviews "Run Rabbit Run" and "Living." Let us know your thoughts! Are there movies you loved the first viewing of, or perhaps the first time was flubbed and you'd like a do-over? Unlike most troubled movie detectives, Jon Hamm's Chief Jordan Sanders isn't listless, or jaded, or even all that troubled. Aside from his wife passing away a year ago, Sanders is relatively content, if not clear-headed.

It's a busy time of year - you're out buying extra packages of hot dogs as well as sunscreen and bug spray and it's almost enough to get you tired of summer already even though it just started. So we suggested that you take a little "me time" and sit down and watch something. And we've got all sorts of entertainment optioons for you. First there's "Maggie Moore(s)." It's got Jon Hamm and Tina Fey in it. Bill Mccuddy and Neil Rosen took a look at it and they'll tell you what they think. Meanwhile Bill Bregoli will fill you in on "No Hard Feelings" which is an R-rated comedy starring Jennifer Lawrence. And Bill Mccuddy was lucky enough to interview Jacqueline Bisset and Judy Greer about their new projects and he'll tell you how that went. Neil Rosen caught up with "For All Mankind" and he also read a book by Quentin Tarantino. And for you documentary fans we've got "Jared From Subway: Catching a Monster" as well as "Clean" which is about people whoe clean up crime scenes. Oh, and we've also watched the "Ted Lasso" finale as well as season two of "And Just Like That" and "The Bear." So take a break, pour some ided tea and listen in.This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/4137244/advertisement
See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Jon Hamm is an actor with a lot of range. He can do serious, and he can definitely do funny. The Missouri-born actor is hilarious in the movie Bridesmaids. And on a dime, he can be breathtaking like his role Don Draper in Mad Men. His latest work can be seen in a comic noir called Maggie Moore(s). On Bullseye, Jon Hamm chatted with us about his role in the film Maggie Moore(s) and how he landed the role on Mad Men. Plus, he gets into his move to Missouri to LA and his (almost) failed attempt at becoming an actor.
Few television show characters are more iconic than “Mad Men's” Don Draper. Jon Hamm played him for 7 seasons and just might have changed television forever. Since then Hamm has ventured into film and exercised his funny muscles. Last year's “Confess, Fletch” was a wonderful example of what Hamm can do with good material, and so is his latest, “Maggie Moore(s),” directed by his friend (and “Mad Men” co-star) John Slattery. In this episode, he talks about how Slattery worked with him to establish the very specific tone of that film, and what he needs from a director in general. He details how his previous television work prepared him for “Mad Men,” how he didn't let the hype of that show overwhelm him in the final season (for which he won an Emmy), plus much more. Back To One is the in-depth, no-nonsense, actors-on-acting podcast from Filmmaker Magazine. In each episode, host Peter Rinaldi invites one working actor to do a deep dive into their unique process, psychology, and approach to the craft. Follow Back To One on Instagram

Erik Childress and Steve Prokopy take a light batch of movies into this weekend; a half-dozen titles of both high profile and varying quality. Disney Plus has a new documentary about the co-founder of Marvel (Stan Lee). Jon Hamm tries to solve a Fargo-like murder spree while wooing Tina Fey (Maggie Moore(s)). Chris Hemsworth is back to see if he can top the previous film's “one-take” action extravaganza (Extraction 2). Tim Story tries to parody horror films (The Blackening) and Pixar gets its first movie into theaters since the pandemic (Elemental). Finally, Steve gets in his thoughts on the latest from DC Comics (The Flash). 0:00 - Intro 1:16- Stan Lee 12:02 - Maggie Moore(s) 21:08 - Extraction 2 38:18 – The Blackening 50:44 - Elemental 1:04:49 – The Flash 1:25:21 - Outro

Visiting with Maggie in this episode felt like dipping my cup into a crystal-cool spring of delicious water because she is so refreshing. Her playful, fun, engaging way of being is contagious in the best way. She's someone who occurs to me as vibrant, open, and alive, and she brings laughter and light everywhere she goes. In this episode, we explore death, fear, hiding, transforming, embodiment, and allowing love to bloom in our lives. We all live in a story about our lives, and often we are unaware of it. Once we become aware, we can narrate it and author it how we want to live it. To bear witness to someone's darkest moments and not look away is so healing and is the greatest gift we can give one another. To be a truth-teller is courageous and contagious. Maggie has been able to use her embodiment work with her bonus daughters, which has been a gift. Pain in the body has something to tell us, and there's information waiting to be released if we can lean in and listen. Chakra Shaking is all about moving energy, tuning into the body, and engaging with the tools of the divine feminine. Change isn't about changing the pain but the story around the pain. Maggie says that Reiki to her is the permission to self-heal. Visionary Healer, Sacred Jewelry Maker, and Chakra Shaking Creator, Maggie Moore is an unstoppable force of good. Maggie manipulates metals with intention. Her hands move energy as an empath and channel to spirit. She is directed by laughter, and her path is one of the soulful, playful teacher. She brings her wit and good humor to all she does and gives her clients permission to laugh and release their past while holding them in a sacred space of healing. Well-versed in hands-on and long-distance healing, Maggie has been a Reiki Master and intuitive healer for 18 years. She has crafted a career as a fine arts jeweler since 2007, which she creates into sacred talismans which work in tandem with the divine combination of her healing work. She has created a new form of healing movement called Chakra Shaking to enhance her blended gifts.
Today we continue learning about psychotherapy by talking about family therapy. We are interviewing Maggie Moore, a therapist who works with employees at the University.

American Splendor scene #15 (32:27 to 37:10) — The short weekend begins with longing… Harvey is picking up donuts and day-old bread at the bakery when he runs into Alice Quinn, a woman he briefly knew in college. They catch up on each other’s lives and talk about Theodore Dreiser’s novel Jennie Gerhardt. Harvey leaves their encounter feeling more alone than ever before — “life seems so sweet, and so sad…” Comics about ordinary life vis-a-vis the “TV show about nothing” — were the creators of Seinfeld inspired by American Splendor? An extended comparison of the original comics story to the filmed scene. (Plus a callback to “average is dumb”!) How to talk to the opposite sex. A tribute to the real Harvey Pekar’s voiceover “acting.” Fancy donuts and gourmet jellybeans. Shout-outs to Jerry Seinfeld, Larry David, Sue Cavey, Maggie Moore, The Deer Hunter, and The Quitter. --- This episode is sponsored by · The Colin and Samir Podcast: The Colin and Samir Podcast hosted by LA - based friends and filmmakers Colin and Samir takes a look into what it’s like to make creativity your career. https://open.spotify.com/show/5QaSbbv2eD4SFrlFR6IyY7?si=Dj3roVoJTZmOime94xhjng --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/scenebyscene/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/scenebyscene/support
Do you hate Nazis? Of course you do. But what can you do about it? Do you want to sue them? Then you should listen to this episode and then go directly to: https://www.integrityfirstforamerica.org and donate some money to aid the only law suit against f-cking Nazis. Seriously, if you don't donate, you're basically saying "Hey, I support Nazis" and you don't want to be that person. There are not “very fine people on both sides”. Friend of the pod and fellow Truman National Security Project member, Amy Spitalnick, joins Maggie Moore and Elie Jacobs LIVE AND IN PERSON to discuss the work she's doing with Integrity First for America. The crew touches on the evils of social media, the kid-gloves the media is using in covering this story and a whole lot else. You're going to want to listen to this one and then get 7 of your friends to listen to it to. Be sure to go to: https://www.integrityfirstforamerica.org for more information. Follow Amy @amyspitalnick and her organization @IntegrityforUSA and send them some money. Be like Indiana Jones, Aldo Raine and Jake & Elwood Blues and fight (in a legal case - not the physical sense) some goddamn Nazis.
At long last, our Master of Sea War, Frank Spring returns to join Maggie Moore and Elie Jacobs aboard a fully staffed Salty Jason's Revenge. A quick detour into the upcoming clown car pile up which will be the democratic primary debates, before turning into the heavy weight no one has been waiting for: Biden vs. Booker and we end off with the cherry of the New York Times' showcase of just how dumb politicians can be in Dumbest Timeline America. Also, you should get more sleep. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/us/politics/2020-candidate-interviews.html Does anyone else think Tim Ryan looks like a slightly younger Judge Marshall Eriksen (aka Judge Fudge)? Frank Spring and Elie Jacobs take on the challenge of containing the wit and wisdom of Deadspin's David Roth to one podcast and fail miserably as they begin by appropriately tearing apart the very idea of NYC Mayor Bill De Blasio running for president before horrifically turning to a very technical conversation attempting to talk about today's NBA in terms of the 1990s. Thankfully no grunge was involved, although Roth was wearing plaid. THIS. This is what happens when Maggie Moore leaves us to our own devices. Going to sleep independently. Get back the nights you dream about. In this episode, Maggie Moore shares the true definition of what sleep training is and what you can do to elongate naps for your little one. The Unspoken Topic Sleep training means them falling asleep independently, not sleeping through the night. Also, sleep training is only for people who have a sleep method that isn’t working for them or their family. It’s not a should or a have to. What We Discuss with Maggie Moore The most important part of sleep training that people tend to forget about. Why sleep training gets a bad reputation and what it actually means. Why an early bedtime can be the absolute best thing you can do for your babe. With Frank Spring possibly trying to fashion an axle out of guano, an iPhone charging cord and the wrapper from a rest stop microwavable burrito, Maggie Moore and Elie Jacobs celebrate National "Good Day" Day by speculating wildly (some may say irresponsibly) about the shutdown and then play everyone's favorite parlor game: "Who should play the democratic presidential candidates on SNL". Frank Spring is taking a leisurely European-like August so is off ship again leaving Maggie Moore and Elie Jacobs to on their own. Making the most of their time, they say nice things about John McCain, talk about the fire hose of news last week, a dude named Duncan and his bunny and round it all out with a review of good books and podcasts.

Frank & Elie welcome Maggie Moore as an official crew member of Salty Jason's Revenge and then things get weird. For your listening pleasure we reevaluate and define Dumbest Timeline America, the incompetence/malice scale and then spend way too much time on AltCenterism and dragging on DaveBro and JRube. You should listen, eat turkey and buy tshirts.
Often we don't realize how important sleep is, until we're not getting it. In this episode I speak with Expert Sleep Coach, Maggie Moore about the VERY common problem of sleepless kids, and what parents can do RIGHT NOW to get on the right path to better sleep for all. One of the biggest takeaways I got from this episode is that YOU"RE NOT A BAD PARENT if your child isn't a good sleeper. We just all need a little training sometimes. Before an interview scratching at the depths of the ongoing #MeToo movement and women supporting the patriarchy, Frank & Elie do a quick review of how the California democratic party demonstrates that the Democrats may be no where. They also do a lightening quick review of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's legal troubles. Please be sure to subscribe and leave us a rating and a review.

Peter White is in Istanbul for the second of two programmes recorded in Turkey. Maggie Moore is a guide dog owner and has inspired blind and partially-sighted people in Turkey to set up their own guide dog association. Led by lawyer Nurdeniz Toncer, the first association has just been launched. UK guide dog trainer Alan Brooks has been training Ece Onderoglu in England, to become Turkey's first guide dog mobility instructor, as well as training Nurdeniz with the training of her dog Kara. Peter talks to them about the training programme and the culture of pet ownership in the country. They are all optimistic about the association's future and Nurdeniz tells Peter that Maggie has been a great role model for blind people in Turkey. Richard Moore the Ambassador tells Peter that he is very supportive of Maggie's work and admits to the project providing 'Canine soft power' in helping support diplomatic relations.
