Rachel discusses her philosophy of "Let's Do Less," advocating for slowing down in today's fast-paced world. She emphasizes the power of doing less for self-care and healing, particularly in trauma work. Rachel explores the intersection of presence, genuine connection, and identity in self-care practices. A few weeks ago I was so blessed and honored to have a tea hosted by TPUSA Faith, called RISE UP where I had 3 phenomenal women alongside me on stage and we dove into the topics of today, faith, and how to be a strong biblical woman in such a messed up culture and quite frankly world that we live in right now. These three women, Eileen marx, Stephanie Denhman, and Rachel Jensen, have all blessed my life in immeasurable ways with their prayer, wisdom, and counsel and I have no doubt that what they share in this episode will bless you as well. So, if youre questioning your role in your ministry. If you're questioning whether or not you should take that job, break up with that boyfriend, dive headfirst into a new season of life, if trying to hear God's voice, struggling in your marriage or want to get married, start a company or become a mom, this episode is for you. Today, Rob welcomes Rachel Jensen from ECI Development. A property firm that is involved in the Latin American market. She is currently based in English-speaking Belize. In this podcast, they discuss what is going on in the property market in and around Belize. Rachel highlights some of the opportunities that exist in this developing country and suggest some ways to take advantage of them. They discuss the effect that the CoVid crisis has had on the area. Rachel explains why demand for property is currently stable and why it is likely to grow quickly, in the near future. Sign Up For MSOPI Here: https://bit.ly/msopi-nomad KEY TAKEAWAYS The CoVid crisis has increased interest in the Belize property market. CoVid has prompted people to finally follow their dream or to change their lives in other ways. For many that means moving. Prices have not dropped in Belize. Many people are taking their money out of stocks and investing in real estate. Many people are moving to parts of the world where the cost of living is more affordable. If you are moving to a developing country, you need to ask more questions. Rachel shares several examples, in the podcast. If you are a forward-thinking investor buying in an emerging area makes sense. There are still opportunities in places like Belize. Your move does not have to be permanent. Rent before you buy. The world is a changing place, it is becoming really easy to own properties abroad. BEST MOMENTS ‘CoVid has given people time to do a bit more research and find options that work for them.' ‘Work the options. Have a plan B so that when the market does rebound you will be ready.' ‘There are additional considerations you do have to think about when you're looking for property abroad.' Cultural Differences & Cultural Diversity in International Business
Rachel Jensen About This Week's Guest Rachel Jensen Over 8 years ago, Rachel moved from New York to a small Caribbean island off the coast of Belize for a job. Today she still calls Ambergris Caye home and despite the cultural differences and nuances, she has adapted to a slower, and easier pace life in Central America. "I was in a real New York state of mind. Now my life is a lot simpler and easier." Her tips on becoming more culturally competent are: Understand that you're a visitor; you don't have the right to criticize the other (country/culture). Some countries are less or not confrontational, so maybe you shouldn't be either. Live simply if that's the local lifestyle; don't be tied down by your stuff. It grows through recessions. No tenants. No loans. Own trees and the land beneath it, titled how you choose. Experience growth in both the timber size, and often, value of your investment. A long-revered timber type is teak. Its natural oils make it unusually resistant to fire and termites. Demand - Today, teak is used in flooring, countertops, veneer, furniture. It’s been used in boatbuilding 2,000+ years. It was used on The Titanic. Supply - Teak is being harvested at 10x its replanting rate. In this episode I share the verbal instructions on Post Standing Qigong, a wonderful, healing, breathing exercise and meditation, I frequently practice and teach. I use these instructions to lead this exercise in class, and teach my students to perform at home. This exercise is perfect for total beginners. It is also a great place to begin if you are recovering from an injury or illness. Post Standing can also help if you are subject to the stress and tension so common in our modern world. Post Standing Qigong requires a minimum amount of space and no equipment. You can practice this Qigong as long as you wish. It is truly a simple and safe method that yields great results. Not quick results but slow drop by drop results that add up gradually to deep change. The instructions given in this podcast will help you to establish a good practice method. You can practice as long as you desire and you have enough strength. I encourage you to listen to my previous episodes about qigong particularly:Episode #10 "Protecting Your Qi" https://ancientwisdommodernhealth.com/episodes/10-secrets-to-protect-your-qiEpisode #8 "What is Qigong?" https://ancientwisdommodernhealth.com/episodes/8-what-is-qi-gong**New Classes Coming Soon!**San Rafael Community Center - New classes starting January 6th, 2020! #170: You can live a rich life and leave a rich legacy at the same time. Guest Rachel Jensen and I discuss how. Timber is a hard asset that physically grows in size, and often grows in value at the same time. Your real estate, gold, or stock share might increase in value - but it doesn’t increase in size at the same time like timber does. Among timber varieties, you’ve probably heard of teak wood but might not know much about it. It has great value due to its durability. Teak’s natural oils make it resistant to fire, pests, and the elements. That’s why teak is so popular for boats, decking, furniture, and more. Teak was even used on The Titanic! The world continues to have more humans and less arable land. Teak products have been used for over 300 years. This makes teak supply vs. demand fundamentals sound for investors. Traditionally, most timber investing was done by ultra-wealthy people, and prestigious Ivy League endowment funds like Harvard and Yale (they both still invest in timber). Today you’ll learn about how everyday investors can invest in teak parcels: Land titled to you that can appreciate in value. Divided 1/4-acre parcels where you get income from the teak harvest. Low cost of entry. Available inventory at this time. Turnkey-managed. Light taxation. Use with cash or IRA funds. Optional qualification for a residency program. Ability to gain both shorter-term income for yourself, and a legacy for others. You’ll learn that our provider offers Get Rich Education followers like you a discount per parcel for a limited time. You also own the trees on the land. 23:47 Light taxation. My guest in this episode is Rachel Jensen. With a background in biology and Spanish, and an original intent of continuing onto Medical School, Rachel Jensen’s life took a 180 degree turn after her first medical mission trip to Nicaragua. Rachel joined the ECI Development team in 2012, starting as the organization’s marketing intern at the administrative offices in Managua, Nicaragua. At the end of her 3-month internship period, she had to make a decision between accepting a full-time position with ECI, or chasing her dreams in Panama with the US Peace Corps. She ultimately chose ECI Development. Originally from the suburbs of New York, Rachel now calls San Pedro, Belize home. Today, Rachel is the Vice President of Sales & Marketing for ECI Development, a regional development company based throughout Latin America in Costa Rica, Belize, Panama and Nicaragua. From the ground up, she has built and grown the sales and marketing department at the Grand Baymen community. Due to her strong passion of connecting folks with international real estate that meets their goals, she was awarded Sales Person of the Year for 2014, 2015 and 2016. In addition, Rachel structured the Teak for Residency Program in both Panama and Nicaragua to assist those looking to pair up a residency with alternative options outside of their home countries.
While many people love traveling and exploring new places, moving to another country as an expat can be a giant leap. It is a way for globetrotters to take their wanderlust to new levels, and to find new financial and personal opportunities. Rachel Jensen, originally from New York, has done it more than once. Finally settled in Belize, she explains why. Show notes: https://goldnewsletter.com/podcast/the-case-for-belize/.
