In this week's MBA Admissions podcast we began by discussing the current state of the MBA admissions season. We continue to see several top MBA programs rolling out their Round 2 interview invites. Next week London Business School and Duke / Fuqua are scheduled to release their interview invitations. We then discussed our new interview prep tool, Clear Admit's MBA Interview simulator This simulator is designed to provide a realistic interview experience for the majority of the top MBA programs, and provide detailed feedback. It is trained on Clear Admit's extensive catalogue of interview resources including its interview archive and interview guides. Graham highlighted webinar events that are on the horizon that Clear Admit is hosting. The first webinar series of events is for deferred MBA admissions candidates who are currently completing their first degrees. The second event in this series is scheduled for Wednesday, and includes Haas, Stanford, Columbia, Wharton and Darden. The second series is for MiM programs and is scheduled for February 24 and 25. Clear Admit is also hosting events with London Business School and Vanderbilt / Owen this month. Signups for all these events are here: https://www.clearadmit.com/events Graham then highlighted several recently published articles from Clear Admit. These include a very popular admissions tip that covers the seven hardest MBA interview questions, and a summary of upcoming in-person events hosted by MBA programs. Also covered is Emory / Goizueta's one-year MBA program pathways and NYU / Stern's new AI concentration. Graham addressed two recently published MBA career reports, from INSEAD and Cornell / Johnson. For this week, for the candidate profile review portion of the show, Alex selected two ApplyWire entries and one DecisionWire entry: This week's first MBA admissions candidate is applying next season and has a 655 GMAT score. While they worry that they can't improve the score, we really encourage them to give it another try, or take the GRE. This week's second MBA applicant has a 760 GMAT score that expires in December. They need to target Round 1 next season, to avoid needing to retake the test. This week's final MBA candidate is deciding between Columbia and Duke or Ross with scholarship money. This episode was recorded in Paris, France and Cornwall, England. It was produced and engineered by the fabulous Dennis Crowley in Philadelphia, USA. Editor note: this article was first published on angrystaffofficer.com here. Much has been written elsewhere regarding the unforgivable sin of failing to plan for known contingencies. Whatever one thinks of the current changes undergoing the United States Army, the least controversial thing to be said about them is that they certainly represent a change from what has come before. And regardless of what one thinks, or refuses to think, about their merit, one can say one other thing for certain: they will eventually yield. Sooner or later, the "idiosyncrasies" of the current administration will again be replaced by "regular order". They must, the only question is how long will that transformation take. As members of the profession of arms we must at least consider how we will collectively re-establish some of the fundamental characteristics and capabilities of our military in the period that follows. This is essential, because any period of chaos or lack of resolve on our part has the potential to imperil national defense. Without a plan, what could be a very bumpy transition could give rise to an exploitable opportunity on the part of America's enemies to damage American interests, threaten America's overseas holdings, gain footholds in the "near-abroad", or threaten mainland America itself. The US Army's unshakable contract with the American people to fight and win the nation's wars by providing prompt, sustained land dominance across the full spectrum for conflict does not leave a lot of time for navel gazing during periods of uncertainty or of transition. In so far as that political uncertainty may unavoidably involve our Army, it is our responsibility to plan our way to the other side of it so that we may safeguard essential capabilities and be in a position to continue mission. Retaking the moral high ground (rule of law) The current administration's problematic relationship with the principles that inform the just use of force, such as the rule of law and the laws of land warfare, have been comprehensively documented elsewhere. Recent examples, in the form of exploding Venezuelan fishing boats accompanied by official pronouncements of indifference to the legal niceties of such action, make the direction we are moving in all too clear. What concerns us here is how best to put Humpty Dumpty back again after he has been comprehensively damaged. Respect for the law that underpins the just use of force, and especially the various international regimes that support it, is difficult to build and easy to dismantle. This is especially the case where the offending party has heretofore held a pre-eminent role in maintaining the status quo. As America abandons her post as the guardian of international law and of the rules-based international order to seek a role as one among several regional hegemons this will, by design, create a destabilizing environment for smaller nations and could lead to the readjustment of borders through conflict. Thinking through to a future where America may once again seek to champion a rules-based international order, how might we, as nation and as an Army, seek to incentivize participation by smaller nations who we may have earlier abandoned to their fate? I would suggest, ironically, that by maintaining our military strength and capabilities we may again be able to benignly bully the world in a multilateral rules-based order that transcends "the law of the jungle" as we did in the post WWII period. More than that, we would have to identify and maintain reservoirs of good practice and learning that survive the current period - such as the jurisprudence of the International Criminal Court, independent centers for the study of international law (in so far as our institutional ones do not avoid becoming fatally compromised), and independent expertise to whom we might have resort when we need them to rebuild our own institutional capacity. Rebuilding academic infrastructure Similarly, the loss of academic...

Nehemiah's term as governor in Jerusalem concluded at the end of chapter 12. He returned to Persia and continued to serve King Artaxerxes as a cupbearer. No doubt this was a difficult transition for him. However, when he journeyed East from Jerusalem, he left having been prospered by God to see the walls of Jerusalem restored and the people revived. For nearly a months time, the people had gathered to read the Word of God. They had even publicly covenanted that they would obey it. While we are not certain how long Nehemiah was in Persia, we do know that some serious compromises were made among the people of God in at least three main areas. As Nehemiah returns to Jerusalem and sees the condition of the people, he boldly and even aggressively retakes the lead and calls the people back to God. Josh Weil, Democratic candidate for Florida's 6th Congressional District, joins Deep Dive to discuss what could be one of the most consequential special elections in American history. A public school teacher and single father, Weil explains why his April 1st race represents more than just a local contest – it's potentially the first domino in Democrats' path to regaining control of the House. With Republicans currently holding the slimmest House majority in historical memory, the stakes couldn't be higher. Weil articulates how flipping a seat that went Republican by 32 points would send shockwaves through the GOP, demonstrating that there is no job security from Donald Trump's endorsement. This message could fundamentally alter how Republican representatives approach their roles, forcing them to be more responsive to constituents rather than blindly following party leadership. What makes Weil's campaign particularly fascinating is his embrace of progressive policies in a traditionally conservative district. He challenges conventional wisdom about Democratic messaging, arguing that the party has failed in messaging for over a decade while offering concrete examples of missed opportunities to connect with working-class voters. Weil doesn't hold back criticism of his own party, particularly Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer's inability to extract concessions during recent negotiations, demonstrating his commitment to honest assessment over partisan loyalty. The conversation weaves between local campaign strategy and national implications, highlighting how special elections occurring outside the typical cycle allow candidates to focus more directly on constituent concerns. As Weil puts it, drawing from his 13 years teaching in Title I schools.Whether you're in Florida's 6th district or simply concerned about the future of American democracy, this episode provides critical context for understanding what's at stake on April 1st.Josh Weil for CongressGay Valimont for CongressVote in Florida-------------------------Follow Deep Dive:BlueskyYouTube Email: deepdivewithshawn@gmail.com Music: Majestic Earth - Joystock
In this episode of The President's Daily Brief: First up, the White House has directed the Pentagon to draw up several options for increasing the American troop presence in Panama in order to achieve President Trump's goal of "retaking" the Panama Canal. These plans reportedly range from partnering with local security forces to seizing the strategic trade route by force. Later in the show, negotiations between Israel and Hamas on extending their fragile ceasefire in Gaza have reportedly stalled, though the White House is scrambling to find a temporary fix to prevent a return to fighting. Plus, tensions are once again simmering in the South China Sea, as Taiwan's president warns that Beijing has expanded its influence campaigns, infiltration efforts and spying operations in an attempt to weaken the island's defenses. In our 'Back of the Brief' segment, a plane carrying Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte landed in the Netherlands on Wednesday, where he was formally transferred into the custody of the International Criminal Court and taken to The Hague to face charges of crimes against humanity. In this week's MBA Admissions podcast we kicked things off with our usual rundown of the latest admissions news. We are still seeing some activity around wait lists at few MBA programs. We then discussed the delayed roll-out of the Harvard MBA admissions essay for this upcoming season. It looks like HBS is planning to change their more traditional essay prompt, and there appears to be much anticipation about this change. All will be unveiled later this month... Graham highlighted the upcoming summer application essay series that Clear Admit hosts, which begins on Wednesday, July 10, and will include the majority of the top MBA programs. Signups have recently opened and are here: https://www.bit.ly/summeressays Graham then noted the publication of a new podcast episode which is a recording of one of the panel discussions during the in-person Chicago MBA admissions event that Clear Admit hosted. This discussion centered on answering several key questions about the MBA degree; who is it for, when should one pursue it, why, what's the ROI, etc. The show features admissions directors from Cornell / Johnson, Harvard, NYU / Stern and Michigan / Ross, with Graham moderating. Graham then highlighted a recently published Clear Admit admissions tip, which focuses the importance of the campus environment; this led to a discussion about the Penn campus in Philadelphia. Graham then noted the publication of Clear Admit's first Adcom Q&A for this new season, from Ohio State/Fisher. For this week, for the candidate profile review portion of the show, Alex selected three ApplyWire entries: This week's first MBA admissions candidate is from India, and is reapplying next season, after gaining admissions this season for USC / Marshall and CMU / Tepper. They have a strong blend of tech and entrepreneurial experience, as well as decent additional activities. They have a very good GMAT, but their GPA is the weak spot. This week's second MBA candidate is a military candidate with a 700 GMAT score and a 3.15 GPA. They are not being overly ambitious with their target programs. They plan to retake the GMAT this summer, as well as take some additional coursework to bolster their profile. The final MBA candidate for this week is also from the military, this time on the nuclear engineering side for the Navy. They have a strong GMAT of 740, and while their GPA is a little modest, they played Division 1 Baseball as an undergraduate. This episode was recorded in Paris, France and Cornwall, England. It was produced and engineered by the fabulous Dennis Crowley in Philadelphia, USA. Thanks to all of you who've been joining us and please remember to rate and review this show wherever you listen!

We trace the heroic journey of Christian lords and knights like Duke Godfrey as they reconquer and retake Jerusalem. We'll also cover the battle of Nicaea and Antioch, including the miraculous appearance of Saint George. One of the key figures we'll also discuss is Bohemond, the giant-like hero, and his nephew, Tancred. We'll also ask pivotal questions for our own time: Which institutions could be retaken? Testing accommodations are meant to give students with documented disabilities a fair shot. But recent LSAT scoring data suggests that the current time-and-a-half minimum might not level the playing field—it might give an unfair advantage to people with accommodations. Ben and Nathan discuss the problematic state of LSAT accommodations and what it means for students. Later, the guys weigh the costs and benefits of taking the test five times. They draft a short character and fitness addendum. And they urge students to avoid the comparison trap. Why does almost every movie and every TV show sound like propaganda for the left? It's because, for more than half a century, the left has steadily hijacked America's organs of cultural production. The solution? The right needs to either reconquer the culture, or restart its own from scratch. Jeremy Boreing of the Daily Wire discusses their new upcoming Snow White movie and the Wire's other projects to create non-woke mass media. Then, Andy Biggs gives his assessment of the power struggle in the U.S. House, where there is a rising danger of a "compromise" speaker chosen by the Democrats.Support the show: http://www.charliekirk.com/supportSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
