Landlord John and Robin line up on the 22m line at The Moon Under Water. A voice cries "Crouch... bind... set... PINTS" before the two of them battle it out to gain control of the last pint of Guinness at The Moon Under Water. This isn't the usual way they decide who gets the final drink of the night; but it may come in very handy when this week's guest arrives. It's professional rugby union player and podcaster Joe Marler!Joe is one of the most talented rugby players of his generation, representing England, the British & Irish Lions, Harlequins and Harlequins for close to 15 years. However, if there's one thing to match his rugby skills it's his pinting skills, and he heads to The Moon Under Water as someone who has immersed himself in the sport with possibly the biggest drinking culture out there. It is our final time discussing all of the Hargreaves family as we discuss the Umbrella Academy Season 3 Finale "Oblivion" as we chat all about the end of the season in spoiler filled detail. Umbrella Academy Season 3 Episode 10 Podcast "Oblivion" Details Episode Directed by Jeff King Teleplay for this episode written by Steve Blackman and Robert Askins Synopsis via wikipedia Reginald, Five, Allison, Viktor, Diego, Lila, Sloane, and Ben arrive at the Hotel Oblivion, where Five tells Viktor what he remembered about Allison. Reginald summons Guardians to attack the group while they search for a seven-fold symbol. Five's arm is severed, but the Guardians are defeated. In the afterlife, Luther convinces Klaus to return to the living world, where he exposes Reginald's treachery. Allison tells Viktor that she made a deal with Reginald but that it had nothing to do with their brothers' deaths. Five spots a seven-star symbol on the lobby floor. All except Allison step on the stars, which activates the reset button but drains their powers. Realizing the process is killing them, Allison kills Reginald and hits the reset button. In the rebuilt universe, Allison is reunited with Claire and Ray, the Hotel Obsidian is gone, Luther is alive and no longer an ape-man, Five and Diego's lost limbs are restored, Sloane is missing, and everyone has lost their powers. As the siblings separate, a restored Reginald observes the city, now under his control, alongside his wife Abigail, who is alive again. We return with our chat about the penultimate episode of Umbrella Academy Season 3 Episode 9 "Seven Bells". We discuss the episode in spoiler filled detail. Umbrella Academy Season 3 Episode 9 Podcast "Seven Bells" Details Episode Directed by Paco Cabezas Teleplay for this episode written by Robert Askins Synopsis via wikipedia A hungover Five desperately tries to recall who was making a deal with Reginald the previous night. Reginald calls a meeting and explains that he built the Hotel Obsidian around a portal to the universe's "reset button", which requires seven people to pass through the secret tunnel and ring seven bells protected by a Guardian. Allison, Lila, Klaus, and Ben agree to the plan, but Diego, Viktor, Luther, Sloane, and Five outvote them and choose to stay. Allison apologizes to Luther and Viktor, but Luther believes she is manipulating him. Reginald murders Luther and blames it on the Guardian in order to motivate the group. Five remembers that Allison was the one with whom Reginald made a deal. The group flees through the tunnel as the Kugelblitz consumes the Hotel. Klaus tries to follow but Reginald pushes him back, thanking him for his help but telling him he is too much of a liability. You are cordially invited to our chat about Umbrella Academy Season 3 Episode 8 Wedding At The End Of The World where we chat all about a big Hargreaves family knees up. Umbrella Academy Season 3 Episode 8 Podcast "Wedding At The End Of The World" Details Episode Directed by Paco Cabezas Teleplay for this episode written by Jesse McKeown and Aeryn Michelle Williams In 1918, Reginald Hargreaves starts construction of the Hotel Obsidian. At its grand opening he attends the event with several mercenaries, who he sends to their death down the secret tunnel in the White Buffalo Suite as they are all slaughtered in Oblivion. In the present, with the universe collapsing around them, the remaining members of the Umbrella and Sparrow Academies take shelter at the Hotel Obsidian for a day of romance, awkwardness and debauchery. As Luther and Sloane announce their wedding, a reinvigorated Klaus and Reginald arrive at the hotel, but none of the other siblings, except for Klaus who has made a new connection with Reggie, are interested in the man they used to call father. Luther asks Viktor to be his best man, and leaves a bitter Ben out of his bachelor party, who is called out for his sullen attitude by Sloane as she tells him to lose control and stop being the leader. Elsewhere and undeterred by the views of his brothers and sisters, Klaus coaches Reginald to be more fatherly at the wedding reception, where to the shock of everyone, including Klaus, Reggie delivers a moving speech. As the wedding reception progresses, Viktor, at the request of Luther, tries to reconcile with Allison, who refuses to forgive him. Klaus and a drunken Ben begin to bond. As the evening and universe draws to a close, the families, in the absence of Allison, sit drunkenly in the courtyard as the Kugelblitz consumes the city around them. But ever the optimist, Luther remarks that he finally has the family he has always dreamed of.As the party goers begin to disperse back to their rooms after the wedding, Five drunkenly overhears Reginald making a deal with an unidentified person in the White Buffalo Suite. Episode Summary Nat & Jesse swing the pendulum back from pop music to the opposite side of the spectrum. We talk hard-to-listen-to / avant garde music. “Challenging” music, if you will. “I never worked out what it was that possessed me when music possessed other than I always wanted it.” “Furthermore it made me someone of course. Thanks to music I became someone who was the forefront. Someone you had to admire. Not as much as you had to admire those who made the music admittedly. All the way from the U.K. Roberto Sodano a.k.a. Audioglider deliver's Tims 150. There are points in every artists musical journey that highlight a sea change or a shift in consciousness. The first of those moments for Roberto Sodano was the time he saw Kraftwerk as a spotty teen with dodgy 80’s haircut. Their machine funk sound completely captivated him and his love of all things electronic began. Born in Wales to Italian parents, the ’Taffia’ as they were affectionately known, finally relocated to London after stints all over the UK and Central Europe. Growing up in a bleak post-industrial city drove Roberto’s need to escape through all manner of musical discovery: experience borne out in his esoteric musical influences of 80s and 90s shoegaze, from bands such as Ride, MBV and the Cocteau Twins through to synth pioneers including the aforementioned Kraftwerk and a pre-Dare Human League. “Music has always been there for me. It’s a friend that doesn’t judge you, a comfort blanket and a kick up the arse when you need it.” Choosing to make music as much as become a DJ, Roberto released tracks under a range of pseudonyms before finally settling on his current nom-de-plume ‘Audioglider’. His big break came with the licensing of two tracks under the new project name - Whiskers and Zusammenallein - for Nick Warren’s Global Underground CD, GU30 Paris. “These were my first official releases as Audioglider, it’s all been downhill from there!” he quips, as he’s now held in high regard by an army of fans and industry insiders alike. A master of both uptempo club tracks and more winsome downtempo fayre, he cites influences as wide ranging as Ulrich Schnauss, Massive Attack and School of Seven Bells for his more cerebral back catalogue additions which includes three albums for Tripswitch’s Section Records - Accidental Beauty, Subaquamarine and Kollision (with Xspance). Referencing his influences can be heard as echoes on everything that Roberto does, while at the same time, they glisten in their own unique light. Translucent in sound. “I don’t stick to a formula so I can explore and develop my musical identity without boundaries.” One of the most telling sea change events for Roberto was playing his first gig at a disused warehouse in East Berlin. “It was my very first go on 1210s and I blagged the gig after meeting some Germans at MoS.” he says, “I got a crash course at Zoom Records one afternoon from Billy Nasty and then flew to Berlin next day!” Gigs at Ministry of Sound and beyond bookmarked the 90s and early 00s, a vibrant time for dance music and for the development of progressive house. Even now Roberto’s ambitions are as strong as ever. with a flurry of releases and remixes in 2018 on labels such as Mirabilis, Transpecta, ManMadeMusic, Pangea, Modern Agenda, Emotional Content, Section Records, and more and scheduled into first half of 2019 including an exciting new album with longtime collaborator and friend, Xspance with an exciting live show. With his recently launched new show Interstellar on Frisky Radio, crashing into their top ten this week, and his stunning set at Modern Agenda's label showcase at ADE 2018, the future is looking bright in 2019 for Audioglider and his sonic doodling. Welcome to the All That's Holy Blue Collar PodcastWhat happens when missionally minded folks, who are also into sports and athletics, combine their passions for reading, cooking, and preaching and spend time talking together?

School of Seven Bells (aka SVIIB) is Benjamin Curtis and Alejandra Deheza. They met while on tour with Interpol (while in different bands) and now they make tranquil electro-pop with a bit of shoegaze tossed in. SVIIB‘s third record Ghostory is the first record they have made without Alejandra's twin sister Claudia. Backstage, I get Ben to talk about what the band's name really means, Claudia's abrupt exit from the band, what losing a member can mean to a band and much more. RIP Ben: You will be missed. When I think about this interview, I remember you telling me about the School of Seven Bells track “Reappear” and how it is about the idea of your future self visiting you as a ghost and telling you what will happen to you. Tracks played on the show... 1) School of Seven Bells, Ghostory "The Night" 2) School of Seven Bells, Ghostory "Lafaye" 3) School of Seven Bells, Ghostory "Reappear" NO songs CANCON

Analog junkie and Mumbai resident Aqua Dominatrix stitches together a delirious collection of synth-pop for mix #95. The musician, real name Akshay Rajpurohit, is also a guitarist for metal bands Scribe and Pangea (making his pretty, dreamy mix all the more surprising). He’s a relatively new solo producer, playing as ‘Aqua Dominatrix’ for only a year and releasing his full-bodied debut album ‘Sadomist’ earlier this year. It’s barely crossed the 6-month mark but ‘Sadomist’ has already collected more than 11000 downloads and over 10,000 streams on bandcamp - no easy feat for any alternative producer in India. But as good as ‘Sadomist’ was, nothing quite compares to Aqua Dominatrix’s live shows. In the few short months that he’s been playing live, Akshay has opened for quite a number of notable homegrown and international musicians including Para for Cuva, the Glitchmob and Pretty Lights. With an album due to come out later this year and a slew of shows planned for the coming months, we thought now was the right time to ask for an exclusive mix for Wild City. Our last couple of mixes have each been better than the last and Aqua Dominatrix keeps that trend going with a euphoric selection for the summer that features some of the brightest names in synthpop. AD starts things on a pretty epic note with Johnny Belinda by Californian beat maker Active Child. That drama soaked synthpop sound is maintained from start to finish with appearances by School of Seven Bells (which injects a wonderful shoegaze quality to the mix), ace Brooklyn based producer j.viewz, Future Islands and Essex legends Depeche Mode. The hour long mix ends with the ever-catchy ‘Tropical Chancer’ by La Roux. Listen to the summery tunes of Wild City Mix #095 on your next beachside drive in the sun.
