Sarah and Aidan offer Jon an audience as he shares the origins and mission of the Tracking Connections Podcast to lift up and honor the amazing projects of so many people around the world.Jon shares the story of how his research began from reflecting on his teen years and the values and ethics that he shared with his friends who were also mentored by Tom Brown, Jr. in the 1970's. Though Tom never told any of them directly to care for nature and the future of our planet, all the teens reflected to one another that this was how they felt. They could not understand why all their friends in high school did not share their concern for the way construction was changing the land.Jon took this question further, "What had Tom done for them? Could we find a way do this for many others?" This began the research and development that led to the founding of the first project to mentor children in the way that Jon was mentored.Soon after founding this first program, Jon met Ingwe, an elder raised by the San Bushman and Akamba Tribe in Kenya. The two faced many challenges in the early years. From their collective effort emerged the Kamana Naturalist Training Program, and the Shikari holistic tracking training, bird language training and the 8 Shields and The Art of Mentoring. These models and principles have been taught all around the world and have collectively reached hundreds of thousands of children who Jon has never met. Surely, Jon's co-founder, the late Ingwe (1914 to 2005), is smiling down on us.Visit https://www.livingconnection1st.net/ for more information about our work in nature connection and people connection.

Barry Bonds is an American pro baseball player who played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and San Francisco Giants, notably breaking numerous major-league records. In 2004 he became only the third major leaguer to hit more than 700 home runs in his career. However, one of his greatest highlights is his family, including his daughter Shikari who is learning to navigate life as a hard-working adult after having been given the world as a child. Shikari is learning to make a name for herself now - all on her own. In this episode, Shikari and Barry Bonds join Hailey and Ronnie Lott to discuss how life changed for Ronnie and Barry after having kids, what it was like for Hailey and Shikari to grow up with successful parents, and what life is like as Hailey and Shikari step into their own. Show Quotes: “There's nothing better than having someone in your life who's successful and can be a shining star to keep you focused and help you set goals for yourself.” - Shikari Bonds “My kids were my biggest mental focus.” - Barry Bonds “It's very difficult for your kids when you're at such a high level.” - Barry Bonds “Sometimes as a parent you need to cut the umbilical cord and allow them to be who they want to be.” - Barry Bonds “The best part of parenting is when you see things come full circle.” - Barry Bonds “Sometimes I feel there's an expectation to live up to the legacy of our parents and that can be hard sometimes.” - Shikari Bonds “Nobody is exempt from trials and tribulations or mental health struggles.” - Barry Bonds “We can always help our family, no matter what goes down, no matter how bad it is.” - Barry Bonds “As you get older you learn that you have to protect your own mental health.” - Shikari Bonds “Find a positive outlet whether that's meditation or getting fresh air - find time every day to do that.” - Shikari Bonds “Take a deep look inside yourself and realize there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Stride towards that light.” - Barry Bonds “All we can do is try to make sure we can serve and help.” - Ronnie Lott If you like what you heard, follow Hailey on Instagram @haileylott_. Alone and bleeding out, Hyperdrive must make his way out of the Underprison while Lakshmi and the Invoker come to his aid. Let us all hope it is for the better...after all, every action has its consequences.

Harambe memes aside, two teens trapped inside a gorilla enclosure is never a good beginning to a mission. With mystics and portals at their disposal however, The New Wave has little to worry about. Adaptaur, Shikari, and The Magician need to find Mind Meld sooner rather than later, and with a zoo full of creatures and an unknown amount of minions it’s a race against the clock before disaster falls.
Adaptaur and the Magician have switched minds. Shikari is out of costume... and luck. The wicked septuagenarian: Mind Meld and his gorilla goons are locked in combat with The New Wave and Rav's mutant iguana. But why is Mind Meld in this Indian grocery store to begin with? What is his evil scheme? And how will our heroes bring this washed up supervillain to justice? Tune in to find out!
The guilt from failing to stop Trevor the iguana lays heavily on the minds and hearts of Shikari and Adaptaur. The consequences of their actions loom ominously over their heads as they regroup with The Magician, leading them to question their team dynamic. The ensuing tension forces Shikari to make a foolhardy decision. Will her decision affect the team, the mission, or both?
With The Magician's powers magic so obviously out of control, he and Adaptaur head off to the esteemed Rook Industries in hopes of finding a way for him to fully control his powers. As our young hero doesn’t even know the source of his own magic, the gravity of the situation may far succeed even the fears of Bullwark. Meanwhile - feeling a little outclassed - Shikari takes to the streets to in order to find an answer to a question she didn’t even know she had.
When The Magician loses control, he really loses control. Shikari and Adaptaur are going to have to think on their feet in order to limit the collateral damage. How are they going to stop the Gattling Wasp before it does any more harm? Will these young teens be staring down the barrel of a figurative gun, or a literal one? The choice is entirely up to them.
Allan Bevan is a 24 year veteran of the Perth charter boat scene and played a pivotal role in opening up the Samsonfish jigging scene. But in this episode he shares his passion and knowledge for catching snapper. Western Australian's refer to these fish as "pinkies", regardless of the size they reach. And they certainly do reach some very large proportions in that part of the world. During our interview Allan chats candidly about the many tips tricks he uses to connect his clients with quality snapper, sharing lures techniques and tips for finding fish. One of the challenges of growing up bilingual is when words pop up in your head that you want to say in one language, but there’s no adequate translation for it in the other language. For example, as Japanese children we are often told, “Shikari shinasai!” or “Chanto shinasai!” But, there’s not a fitting translation for these expressions in the English language. In today’s episode we tackle some of these tough words that get lost in translation - the English word “robust” and the Japanese word “shikkari.” 今回のエピソードでは、英語の「robust」と日本語の「しっかり」という訳しにくい2つの単語を取り上げます。 Check it out above and don’t forget to subscribe via Apple Podcasts or Android! ポッドキャストの無料視聴は上のリンクから!アップルポッドキャストやアンドロイドからのご登録もお忘れなく!
