Send us a textIn this live episode of "2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates," hosts Drew and Rob dive into the latest updates, rumors, and news surrounding Giants, as well as important developments from around the NFL. From Hall of Fame discussions to injury reports and Week 5 NFL picks, this episode covers it all for Giants fans. The episode kicks off with exciting news about four former Giants who are advancing in the selection process for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025. Giants legends Charlie Conerly, Carl Banks, Ottis "O.J." Anderson, and Everson Walls are among 60 former NFL players being considered in the Seniors category. The hosts reminisce about their impactful careers and contributions to the Giants. They delve into each player's accomplishments, including Conerly's 1959 MVP season, Banks' role in the Super Bowl victories, Anderson's MVP performance in Super Bowl XXV, and Walls' ball-hawking skills that helped the Giants win another championship.Next, the guys celebrate two current Giants who made the first-quarter All-Rookie Team as listed by The Athletic's Dan Brugler. Rookie WR Malik Nabers has been a breakout star, leading the league in receptions and racking up big plays, while safety Tyler Nubin has been a tackling machine, although he's still adjusting to the NFL's speed in coverage. While Nabers and Nubin have shown tremendous potential, fellow rookies Dru Phillips and Darrius Muasau received honorable mentions, adding even more excitement for Giants fans about the team's future.Injuries have been a major storyline for the Giants, and this episode covers the latest updates on several key players. WR Nabers remains in concussion protocol, while RB Singletary and CB Adoree' Jackson are battling groin and calf issues, respectively. Dru Phillips and edge rusher Brian Burns are also limited, raising concerns about how these injuries could impact the Giants' performance in their upcoming game against the Seahawks. On the Seahawks side, former Giants Leonard Williams and Julian Love are listed with injuries, adding an extra layer of intrigue to this matchup. The hosts break down how these injuries could affect both teams and what it might mean for the Giants' chances of pulling off a win.As WRs Nabers and Wan'Dale Robinson face injury concerns, Drew and Rob speculate whether this could open the door for Jalin Hyatt to finally prove himself on the field. The Giants coaching staff has been hesitant to trust Hyatt so far, but with limited options, the rookie wide receiver might get his shot. The guys discuss Hyatt's downfield abilities and how Daniel Jones' struggles throwing deep could be a factor in this decision. They also mention how TE Theo Johnson and WR Bryce Ford-Wheaton could see increased playing time in this game due to the injuries.WrapBad Dadvice PodcastNew Dads giving hilariously bad advice about fatherhood, life and current events.Listen on: Apple Podcasts SpotifySupport the showAll Episodes are shot LIVE with fan interactions on Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, & TwitchSponsor the show at: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/2giantgoofballsInterested in starting a podcast. Caleb (@kdiggs74) and Derek (@derekrusinek) are here to look back through week 18 and Super Wild Card Weekend in the NFL. First, they go back to this day in sports history back in 1991 as the New York Giants dominated time of possession to win Super Bowl XXV over the Buffalo Bills, 20-19. Ottis Anderson won Super Bowl MVP. Then they look at some NFL news as Frank Reich has been hired as the new Head Coach of the Carolina Panthers, Bill O'Brien is the new Offensive Coordinator of the New England Patriots, Nathaniel Hackett is the new Offensive Coordinator of the New York Jets, and Dan Quinn has announced he is going to stay with the Dallas Cowboys as their Defensive Coordinator. Then they look at each of the matchups from the Divisional Round and look at how all the matches went under but Travis Kelce went and had 14 catches, the Eagles just crushed the New York Giants, the Bengals went and stunned the Buffalo Bills with early touchdowns by Hayden Hurst and Ja'Marr Chase, and Robbie Gould kicked a ton of points to get the 49ers past the Cowboys. Finally, they look at the NFC and AFC Championship Previews where Caleb & Derek disagree quite a bit but are very excited for these matchups between the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles, and of course the Cincinnati Bengals at the Kansas City Chiefs. This Saturday the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants clash in the second round of the NFL Playoffs. These two teams are no strangers to each other, since 1933 these two have fought twice a year, and a bitter rivalry formed and evolved into one of the NFL's top rivalries. Over the years the Eagles and Giants have had some memorable games and moments…and this Saturday is not expected to be any different. Super Bowl XXV Champion and Former New York Giants Defensive back Myron Guyton joins us live to give his take on what his Giants need to do in order to pull off yet another NFL Playoff upset. Guyton was drafted out of Eastern Kentucky in 1989 in the 8th round and eventually found himself alongside Bill Parcells taking on the Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl XXV, a game the Giants would win by just one point. The panel this evening looks at the best match-ups going into Saturday's game and sees the best plan for each time to secure a win in the NFC Divisional Round. Will a healthy Lane Johnson bring a significant improvement to the offense? Who on the Eagles will be able to stop Saquon Barkley and Kayvon Thibodeaux? How will Jaylen Hurts perform after missing several weeks and potentially losing that regular-season momentum?

Ottis (OJ) Anderson enjoyed a stellar 14 year NFL career, playing with the St. Louis Cardinals and New York Giants. He grew up playing sports like baseball, but football was his passion. For university, he chose the University of Miami primarily because it was close to home. He had offers from all the top schools in Florida and across the country, but with his strong bond with his mother, he saw no need to go elsewhere. At Miami, he blossomed into an elite back which saw him become a 1st-Team All-American. His NFL career started off with a bang, as he was only a handful of yards away from leading the league in rushing as a rookie. His team success came as a member of the Giants, winning 2 Super Bowls, and earning Super Bowl MVP honours in Super Bowl XXV. After football, he was involved in the insurance business for many years. He is currently a Patient Ambassador for Novo Nordisk, a healthcare company that he has teamed up with as he shares his journey with diabetes. He is also involved with Tridelix, a 5-D imaging company that is producing some amazing things. For more information, please follow the links below. Super Bowl XXV took place at Tampa Stadium on January 27, 1991 and featured a game between the New York Giants and the Buffalo Bills. There's so much about this game that makes it important but it was Scott Norwood's 'wide right' field goal attempt at the end that we still talk about to this day.

Jeff shares the ups and downs, frustrations and rewards of his football career and celebrates the woman who never stopped reminding him “whose he was,” and that “God had a plan for his life,” --his mom.  Shaunti Feldhahn is a researcher, a speaker and a writer who has studied the effects of rest on the lives of stressed out moms--and women in general. Her new devotional, "Finding Rest: A Woman’s Devotional For Lasting Peace,” guides women in the practice of recharging emotionally, physically and spiritually through finding rest.

This month's podcast features the Executive Director of the NFL Legends Community, and NFL veteran, James Trapp.James Trapp, originally from Greenville, South Carolina, became a household name when he starred as a Clemson Tiger from 1989 until 1993. Not only known for achievements on the football field, but he was also a two-sport athlete with the Tigers, also participating in track and field. Trapp became a 14-time ACC champion and 10-time All-American on the track team, which eventually led to a trip to the Olympics as an alternate for the United States team in 1992 4x100 meter relay. However, many remember Trapp for his play on the football field. He was a third-round selection in the 1993 NFL Draft, to the Los Angeles Raiders, where he spent six seasons in Los Angeles and Oakland. In his time at Clemson and as a Raider, Trapp was known as one of the meanest players in the league, however, when he signed with the Baltimore Ravens in 1999 the Lord began to transform his life. He was a member of the Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars for his last five seasons in the NFL, which culminated with a Super Bowl XXV championship with Baltimore in 2000. After retiring from the NFL, Trapp has served as the team chaplain for the Atlanta Falcons and Clemson Tigers, and then serving as the assistant director of Player Engagement for the Buffalo Bills in 2015. Today, James Trapp, works for the NFL league office, his role is to “lead the league's ongoing efforts to assist players in successful transition into their post-playing experience,” according to NFL Operations. In this episode, Mike Linch talks with James Trapp about his career in athletics and the lessons he learned, as well as the spiritual transformation that took place in his life while playing for the Ravens. James also discusses how his relationship with the Lord influences his leadership in his life away from playing football, things he learned from Coach Dabo Swinney in his time serving at Clemson University, and his battle off the field after being diagnosed with leukemia.

The big news in this game was that both starting quarterbacks, Buffalo's Jim Kelly, and New York's Phil Simms, were knocked out by injuries, Simms, as it would turn out, for the rest of the season. This was also the game when the Bills Bruce Smith boasted that he, not Lawrence Taylor, was now the best defensive player in the NFL. Fun stuff 25 years ago.
