Many people (myself included) pursue the illusion of power, because under the surface what we desire is freedom and we think this is the only way to get it. The only way I can be free is to have so much power, that no one can have authority (ie control) over me. Because we live in a world of haves and have nots, I need more power, money, status and things than other people to ensure I am one of the ‘haves', someone at the top of the pecking order. *(having power and being empowered are not the same thing) I am happy to say that years ago I gave up that ideology and way of relating with the world and others - but I'd be lying if I said it still doesn't creep up on me from time to time. I believe that true freedom means freedom for all. This doesn't mean getting to do whatever we want, whenever we want, without any regard for others and without consequences. We are so vastly interconnected in ways we can't even comprehend, that we need to respect each other and part of that means understanding that I will have some peramatures where my freedom might bump into someone else's, and that freedom isn't an all or nothing thing. Power though, well now when I have power I don't need to respect anyone, I can just squash bulldoze right on over them because I have more power. You might be asking what the heck this has to do with entrepreneurship, and I would say everything. Many of us (as I did) build out our businesses and lives wanting more power and often what can happen is it leads us off course. It leads us away from the things that bring us joy and instead have us focusing on accumulating more because more = power and we confuse power with freedom. Freedom means the beautiful space to be you - to live the life you want, not the one others tell you to want - to be able to express yourself in ways that light you up vs the ones ‘you must do to grow your business'. We dive deeper into this philosophical discussion on this week's podcast episode which you can listen to here. I still want to be powerful (AND empowered), I just know that the power I seek comes with significant responsibility and I never want it to come at the expense of someone else ‘having to lose'. I believe that pondering certain kinds of questions helps us better understand ourselves, what we desire and what we're truly looking to create. Are you potentially confusing power and freedom? Have you maybe been living in a paradigm where there needs to be losers in order for there to be winners? Or do you live in a world where we're all able to win, we just need to work together to get there? Keep being awesome my friend and together we can, will and already are creating a different world together. Lana THIS IS EPISODE 200 of the podcast?! That is crazy to me. But just as important, he established the very tone of Oregon winegrowing: artisanal, individualistic, even idiosyncratic… You can look at Oregon's 300-plus wineries and 17,400 acres of vines and trace it to Lett. But he left more than that. He bequeathed a uniquely Oregon ‘wine genome,' one that others now seek to copy.” Matt Kramer | The Wine Spectator | The Oregonian --- “Three months after meeting David Lett in 1966, I was Diana Lett, standing out in the middle of a field of grape vines in Oregon, with a shovel and a brand new yellow rain-suit. I didn't have a clue what I was doing, but I was thrilled to be in on the opening chapter of a great adventure. It seemed like a long time at the time, but in a few years several other families joined us. As we got to know each other, we realized that we shared ideals. We also realized that we had an absolutely unique opportunity – to build a wine region from scratch, and build it right. 50 years and a thriving community later, it does look like we did it right. I am so proud of what has been accomplished in these five decades, and I am very grateful that I got to be a part of it. I am immensely glad that I have been able to spend my life in this beautiful state of Oregon, helping to build The Eyrie Vineyards.” Diana Lett 2015 --- “In 2005 I came back to Eyrie as winemaker. I was often asked, “What are you going to change?” My answer was, ‘Fundamentally? Nothing.' Since then, we have planted new vines and introduced new varieties to the Willamette Valley. We moved to wild yeast fermentations. We developed a 21-step process to guarantee the quality of our library releases. We released single vineyard Pinots from each of our estates for the first time in our history. In spite of the changes, nothing has changed. Exploration and innovation has been a part of the Eyrie adventure since Dad planted the first vines in 1965. I'm honored to have a part in carrying the journey forward.” Jason Lett 2016

This is Episode 90, y'all!!! #HurricaneHanna is tearing up Corpus Christi, #Texas forcing the county to be challenged by and also fully understand the significance of social distancing. Dealing with a surging pandemic and a hurricane makes you think maybe it would have been a good idea to wear that mask and social distance early on. Although #Trump was essentially acquitted by the republican party, he has continued to commit crimes worthy of impeachment. While registered voters in Texas agree that their governor has not handled the pandemic properly, they do now think the pandemic should be taken with the utmost seriousness, but, for some reason, they are still equally divided on who would be a better president between Trump and #Biden. Meanwhile Biden is killing it in the polls in #Florida. Florida needs to give their homie, Texas, a phone call. As several people have privately reached out and commented on the space I occupy on our show, Cinthya breaks down how important it is and how obsessed I am about that very concern. Really obsessed. Really, REALLY obsessed... too obsessed. AHHHHH!!!! I WANT TO DO BETTER!!! HELP ME DO BETTER!!! Ok. ok. I'm fine. we're taking it seriously and doing the best we can–– BUT I KNOW IT'S NOT ENOUGH!!!!! ATTENTION. THIS IS EPISODE 99. That's right. If you are in the 100% club, listening to this will mean you have listened to 211 episodes of this show and us rambling a lot of pish for over two years! All this AND a pandemic related lockdown? You lucky people. Anyway, our guest this week is a horror writer, an occasional doer of musical things and one of the hosts of the podcast STRONG LANGUAGE & VIOLENT SCENES... (lol) It's MITCH BAIN! His chosen film? ZOMBEAVERS! This nippy little slice of nonsense closed out the opening night of Frightfest 2014 and, in truth, it's a perfect film for that slot. It's a film that a boozed up Mitch responded to on the night and enjoyed on subsequent watches but what did Andy think? A gory love letter to schlocky horror which features Sushi Girl's Cortney Palm and appearances by Bill Burr and John Mayer (yes, that John Mayer), Zombeavers doesn't outstay its welcome. What are your thoughts? Zombeavers is currently rentable on Prime Video and there's a recently Music Magpie'd copy of Andy's out in the world. The synopsis is as follows: A group of college kids staying at a riverside cabin are menaced by a swarm of deadly zombie beavers. A weekend of sex and debauchery soon turns gruesome as the beavers close in on the kids. The kids are soon fighting for their lives in a desperate attempt to fend of the pack of relentless, bloodthirsty, and mutated beavers. ***THIS IS EPISODE #600 for “The Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast!”*** God’s Prophetic Voices to America – Dr David Reagan pt 2 (https://kcrpodcast.com/?attachment_id=98861) We know that this nation, despite all of the misinformation being promoted today, that the United States has, as its foundation, Christian principles based on the Word of God. Our Founding Fathers often referenced scripture in almost every speech they gave. They purposely wove scripture references and Christian morality into the founding documents of this nation. They did not have to apologize for referencing scriptures. They did not apologize for their Faith. But today, we see a very different America. We see an America that, as former President Obama famously bragged, “America is not a Christian nation anymore.” What happens when a nation that God has Blessed, decides they no longer want to follow God’s Word? What happens when a nation that ignores the continuous warnings to repent? Do some of the preachers today have it right? Some say, “God will never forget America!” Some say, “We live under Grace and Mercy. God is not vengeful anymore.” Some say, “God is a God of Love, not Judgment.” Today’s guest has written a book that discusses these questions. Not only does the book, “God’s Prophetic Voices to America” answer those questions, it lays out several of the prophetic voices God has sent to us. God has given us many, many warnings. And here to discuss this book, is the author, Dr. David Reagan. Dr. Reagan is the founder and director of Lamb & Lion Ministries and the host of the weekly television program, “Christ in Prophecy,” which discusses the prophetic significance of national and international events we see in the news. Dr. Reagan is the author of 15 books concerning various aspects of Bible prophecy. In a matter of full disclosure, “Christ in Prophecy” is also heard on “Evangelism Radio” on a daily basis. In fact, when we started “Evangelism Radio” back in October of 2010, I reached out to several major ministries and Dr. Reagan’s team was one of the first to approve our use of his program on our radio station. Some of the things David Wilkerson said were considered “way out there” back when he said them. But some have, unfortunately, come to pass today, haven’t they? Can you give us a few examples of remedial judgments we have seen in America and what precipitated them in the first place? Most of the preaching and teaching today has to do with “the Love of God” and the “Grace of God” and the “Mercy of God.” Very little has to do with the “Fear of God” or the “Wrath of God.” In your opinion, why is this so hard for preachers to do today? God has not left us without messengers today. In your book, you have a section for “Current Voices” in America. Can you share some of those prophetic voices and how they have continued to proclaim God’s warnings for us today? Erwin Lutzer – A Voice Emphasizing the Evil of Man. David Jeremiah – Voice of Warning Decrying Rebellion. William Koenig – Voice of Warning Concerning Israel. Jan Markell – A Voice Denouncing Apostasy. Albert Mohler – A Voice Confronting Intellectuals. Franklin Graham – A Voice Calling for Repentance. Robert Jeffers – A Voice Warning of Impending Judgment. Jonathan Cahn – A Voice Declaring Impending Judgment. One of the more “visible voices” today is Pastor Robert Jeffers, pastor of First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. I remember listening to Dr. Criswell, his predecessor, on the radio when I lived in Texas. But Pastor Jeffers has taken on the role, basically of “national spokesman” for Jesus Christ today. He is called on many times to give the Spiritual perspective on things in the news. I know Israel holds special significance to you and to Bible prophecy. I would like you to address America’s relationship with the nation of Israel. The Bible is clear that in the final days, “every...

Jodie is, as you’ll hear, a breath of fresh air. She’s honest, naturally hilarious and a real Yorkshire woman through and through. It was a total joy to have her on. LESS WAFFLE. MORE CHATTER. Happy Thursday everybody. Hope you're alright. We're not so bad thanks for asking. We've just been having a chat on the phone about when we can get some recording done and bring you some fresh Two Shot Podcast action and the good news is, it won't be that long. In the mean time, we thought we'd let you have a listen to this old episode of the podcast with Matt Berry. Matt's got a new program out called What We Do In The Shadows which you can now watch on the BBC iplayer here (if you're in the UK). It's about Vampires and it's dead funny. Hope you enjoy this episode if you haven't heard it before. XORIGINAL TEXT Here we are again. THIS IS EPISODE 41 OF THE TWO SHOT PODCAST and this week we're thrilled to welcome... the man, the voice... THE MATT BERRY! Craig & Producer Griff travelled into London's Soho to meet Matt on the hottest day of the year so far (remember that? Was that our summer?) and popped to our favourite tea shop, Maison Bertaux (Greek street - you should go, it's ace!) and sat down, and more importantly cooled down, and then got down to it. It's a cracker of an episode with Matt and we discuss all sorts; growing up, music, albums, comedy, creativity, insomnia, and the London dungeons. You're gonna love it. You'll know Matt from his extensive work on shows like Snuffbox, The I.T. Crowd, Darkplace, The Mighty Boosh and of course, the brilliant Toast of London. Sit back. relax. and let the smooth tones of this episode wash over you. YES!! P.S. Sorry about the background noise in this episode. As it was such a lovely day, all the windows and doors were opened out onto the bustling streets of Soho and the chatter and ambience spilled. Just think of it as a bit of audio set-dressing. Nice one. (Producer Griff) Get in touch... So here we are again... EPISODE 81. How’s your week been? Good? Not bad? Fair? Actually pretty bad?Well, put everything aside for a while and get in your podcast zone and do something for you. Forget about that email you have to send. Put down that phone and make that call later. Spend a little bit of time to listen to someone else’s story. Just for a while. It’s a funny thing. When booking guests to come on the podcast it can be: 1: people we know ( quite rare but still happens) 2: people we’ve never met before but may have heard of( almost all the time) 3: people we’ve never met but get recommended by people we do know ( sometimes) And now there’s a “4”....the complete accident ( this is the first time!) Craig stumbled across AMY BOOTH STEEL on social media. It was a video. A video of a young woman with a ukulele. She was singing a song. ....and that’s just the start...We got in touch as we thought her story should be heard and this seemed the perfect platform for to do it. We were right. Amy is total tonic and we think you’re going to love her. If you’ve seen her videos that have gone viral then you’ll understand....if you havnt...then you will...THIS IS EPISODE 81 OF THE TWO SHOT PODCAST with the INCREDIBLE AMY BOOTH-STEEL. If you want a badge then have a listen here and see how you can get one. If you haven't got tickets for the live TSP in London with Richard E. Grant then click through here and see if there're any left. It's gonna be ace. Get in touch... If you enjoy the podcast and want to donate we'd absolutely love that! Here we are again, and what a treat we have for you for our 74th episode. We’re always so chuffed when an episode connects with you. That can certainly be said for last year's STEVE EVETS episode. We had a feeling there was more to discover with Steve and decided to go back up North and meet with him again. We were not disappointed and neither will you be. If you’ve not heard Steve’s first episode then we urge you to go back and listen before you give this one spin. We pick up the podcast pretty much where we left off in part one but first we discuss Steve's recent health scare, a health scare that prompted a pretty huge lifestyle change for him. We must give a huge thanks to the Old Nags Head pub in Manchester for giving us a room to record this week's episode in. Another big shout out to past TSP guest JB Barrington for sorting that out for us. Top man JB! As a rule, we don't delve too often into “jobs” when talking to actors but on this ep Craig had to ask Steve about the job that pretty much changed everything for him and we get some remarkable stories because of it. If you enjoyed Part 1 with Steve then you better buckle up. Part 2 is an absolute belter. Enjoy. THIS IS EPISODE 74 OF THE TWO SHOT PODCAST & we move forward with another natter with STEVE EVETS. Well. Here we all are again. It’s episode 69. As this is our last episode of 2018 it seems only fitting to think about what an incredible year it’s been. We’ve been fortunate enough to sit down and meet so many extraordinary people who’ve been so open and so honest with sharing their stories. We wanted to thank each and every one of them. It isn’t an easy thing to come and meet up with (sometimes) strangers and discuss the deep, intimate parts of your life that can be, sometimes, very revealing... not to mention sharing those to the world! This year we won a British podcast award (We told you right?). We’re so honoured that TSP got recognised alongside so many other podcasts that we love. Do go listen to the many podcasts that made the list as they will all find a place that in your podcast library, we’re sure. As we say goodbye to 2018, it’s fitting we end as we started the year...on a high. We couldn’t think of anyone better to see us out than the brilliant human that is JODIE COMER.Craig & Producer Griff met in London (Earl’s Court) to meet up with Jodie and get their podcast on. It was Jodie’s very first podcast! We’re always so honoured when people want TSP to be their first podcast outing. We don’t think this will disappoint ONE. BIT. You'll know Jodie from her show-stealing depiction of Villanelle in Phoebe Waller-Bridge's incredible Killing Eve alongside Sandra Oh and former TSP guest Susan Lynch. You might also have seen her in The White Princess, My Mad Fat Diary, Doctor Foster, Thirteen and loads of other stuff. If you’re a big fan of Jodie, then after this episode you’ll be a colossal fan. She’s absolutely ace. What a perfect way to send off the year. Thank you all so much for an ace 2018. Have a beautiful Christmas. All our peace and love for the new year. Dating Questions (Quote Of The Day) Love is primarily in the will, not in the emotions or the glands. The will is like the voice; the emotions are like the echo. The pleasure associated with love, or what is today called "sex," is the frosting on the cake; its purpose is to make us love the cake, not ignore it. The greatest illusion of lovers, is to believe that the intensity of their sexual attraction, is the guarantee of the perpetuity of their love. It is because of this failure to distinguish between the glandular and spiritual… Or between sex, which we have in common with animals, and love, which we have in common with God, that marriages are so full of deception. What some people love is not a person, but the experience of being in love. The first is irreplaceable; the second is not. As soon as the glands cease to react with their pristine force, couples who identified emotionalism and love claim they no longer love one another. If such is the case, they never loved the other person in the first place; They only loved being loved, which is the highest form of egotism." ~Venerable Archbishop Fulton J. If you want more on this please refer back to episode #2. Many people want to bash or worst leave the Catholic faith because of the current scandal…That’s pure ignorance! That’s exactly what the Evil One wants them to do! Also we must understand that there are many Judases among us. Are you going to abandon Christ too? We must fight within the Church – This is how Christ demands it because this is the Church He created! You can’t change the Church outside the Church! 2018 Scandal In The Catholic Church... The #5 Reason Men Are Responsible So let’s get started with number four of the top 21 reasons that men are responsible for the 2018 scandal in the Catholic Church. But first let’s review the first four… #1 was Refusal to accept our roll as men. #2 was Allowed the men in the Catholic Church (Popes, cardinals, bishops, priests, deacons, to water down (dilute the teachings of the Catholic Faith) #3 was “They didn’t fight for Christ during Vatican II” #4 an unwillingness to sacrifice for Christ

Jodie is, as you’ll hear, a breath of fresh air. She’s honest, naturally hilarious and a real Yorkshire woman through and through. It was a total joy to have her on. LESS WAFFLE. MORE CHATTER. Here we are again. Nice one. (Producer Griff) We were nominated for a prestigious British Podcast award last week in the 'Best Culture Podcast' category and we're very proud. It's now up to a panel of expert judges but there's another category that we could do with your help in: The 'Listeners' Choice Award'. FIRST OFF, THIS IS EPISODE 47 NOT 49, WHICH WILL MAKE SENSE WHEN YOU LISTEN… The post CINEPUNX Episode 47: Joe Hardcore talks Sho Kosugi, Ninjas, and Pickle Heads appeared first on Cinepunx.
FIRST OFF, THIS IS EPISODE 47 NOT 49, WHICH WILL MAKE SENSE WHEN YOU LISTEN TO THIS EPISODE!! It was a great pleasure to finally sit down with our friend Joe Hardcore (McKay) who you may know from the giant festival he runs, This Is Hardcore Fest, from the many shows he books in Philadelphia, or from some of the bands he has been in like SHATTERED REALM or PUNISHMENT. Regardless, we have known Joe for 20 years, and he has been an important part of the scene here in Philadelphia for even longer. In fact his first band, LTD played the first hardcore show I ever went to. Unlike a lot of folks, I came to hardcore from punk. When I was a freshman in highschool I was listening mostly to a combination of GREEN DAY, CRASS, THE CIRCLE JERKS, and COCKSPARRER thanks to the many weird punks who also went to Collingswood High School. However, that show at the Firenze which we discuss a tiny bit on the episode started me on a journey to where I am now, and I really appreciate that. Joe has been harassing us good naturedly for quite some time about not having him on the show, but the timing just never worked out until now. When we contact him about doing this episode, he knew IMMEDIATELY what he wanted to discuss: NINJA MOVIES! Not just any films either, specifically the work of Sho Kosugi, and mutually we decided to focus on perhaps the best of the Canon Films Group’s ninja trilogy, REVENGE OF THE NINJA!! Predictably, we end up ALL OVER THE DAMN PLACE, but in the best way possible. We covered a small part of many Ninja films, including PRAY FOR DEATH, ENTER THE NINJA, NINJA 3: THE DOMINATION, RAGE OF HONOR, and SUPER NINJAS ( 5 ELMENTS NINJA) It is a pretty great conversation! This was the kind of episode where we had so much we could talk about there was no way we could cover it all, so let us know if you wanna hear a part two sometime soon! We also mentioned a great deal of other films from the work of Takashi Miike to films like THE WITCH, ZOOTOPIA, and KINGDOM OF HEAVEN. SOUND NOTES: Towards the end of the first segment there is a weird buzz in the background. I have no idea why, and it seems to go away in the second segment. Sorry about that, hopefully it doesn’t bother you too much. Other then that episode went great! BIG THANKS TO JOE HARDCORE FOR RECORDING WITH US! BIG THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO SUPPORT US, AND TO FOLKS LIKE NICK SPACEK, PHIL SAYNISCH, EVAN VELLELA, SEAN BENNIS-SINE, JUSTIN HARLAN, ETHAN ANDERSON, JUSTIN MILLER, JOSEPH GERVASI, AND ANYONE ELSE WHO HAS POSTED ABOUT US AND SPREAD THE WORD! HUGE UPS TO MAD JOE FROM WISDOM IN CHAINS FOR WEARING OUR SHIRT AT THE JUDGE SHOW, AND TO JUSTIN LORE FOR REPPING US AT MONSTER MANIA!! This episode was a real reminder of how grateful we are to our friends and fans and collaborators who have helped make this thing possible. It is great to be a part of something so awesome.
