Featuring Seth Zarate, Kyle Olson, Ellen Aster, and Grant Zoch! Appropriately set in Salem, Mass., HUBIE HALLOWEEN is a harbinger of the horrible past. Hubie is at once the innocently puckish everyman which lead actor Adam Sandler helped create and a scathing vignette of the 54-year-old’s increasingly cynical approach to the character archetype that made him a comedy commodity for decades: “When I was your age,” Hubie opines to the next generation, “I made some huge boners. Boners that I wish I could get back now.” The nicest guy in town, defined only in contrast to the hardened hearts that inhabit his community and portrayed by a man who couldn't hate him more if he tried, Hubie Dubois is a reflection of a reflection of a horrifying reflection. While there is intense focus on the presidential contest and the fate of the U.S. Senate as Election Day approaches, critical contests are also underway for the control of state legislative chambers. We’re pleased to have Tim Storey, the executive director of NCSL, as one of the guests on this podcast.  Storey has been observing these elections for decades and  shares his thoughts on the prospects for a blue wave, how many legislative chambers are likely to change control and if we’re likely to see a change in overall state control. Also joining us is Mandy Zoch, an NCSL expert on statewide ballot measures. Zoch explains why there are fewer citizen initiatives on ballots around the nation this year and some of the more interesting measures voters will decide.         Resources OAS Episode 110 Transcription State Elections 2020, NCSL Statewide Ballot Measures Database, NCSL

Viel los gerade in Düsseldorf!

Research indicates that open communication raises employee satisfaction and increases retention. Implementing a 'Morning Huddle' with clinicians and employees is an excellent way to foster the communication that drives both of these improvements. In this episode, Cheryl Toth and Mike Sacopolus talk with Thomas Zoch, MD, Vice President Vice President of Care Management-Clinical at Ascension Wisconsin about his leadership philosophy and the use of morning huddles to engage physicians and staff from across the health system. Dr. Zoch discusses the genesis of why Ascension Wisconsin chose to deploy morning huddles, and how the focus on "getting to why" in these daily communications has resulted in open dialogue, effective discourse, and ongoing education. He also breaks down in specific detail the logistics and specific processes he uses to lead morning huddles at three different hospitals every Monday through Friday at Ascension Wisconsin.  Thomas W Zoch MD FACP FACEP CPEVice President of Care Management- ClinicalAscension Wisconsinwww.ascension.org/Wisconsin
