In a major setback to Trump's attack on Blue States and State Sovereignty, a federal judge has just dismissed one of half a dozen falsely labeled “Sanctuary City” suits brought by Trump's DOJ against Blue States and Cities and his political rivals who refuse to cooperate with funding or personnel to help Trump enforce his depraved Immigration policies. Michael Popok explains how this ruling will be the blueprint used by federal judges in NY, California, NJ, and other states as Federal Judges find new ways to deal Trump more losses. New York Congressman Mike Lawler sits down with Margaret Hoover to discuss his approach to legislating as one of only three Republicans in the House representing a district Kamala Harris won in 2024 and why he believes his Democratic-leaning constituents should reelect him next year.Lawler, who recently ruled out a run for governor, talks about defending his record at often rowdy town halls and highlights instances where he has stood up to the Trump administration. He also explains how he has succeeded in advancing his district's priorities, like raising the cap on the state and local tax deduction in Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill.Lawler, chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee's Middle East and Africa Subcommittee, responds to Trump's criticism of Israel over starvation in Gaza and lays out his view of the conflict. He also comments on declining support for Israel in the U.S., particularly among younger Americans.Lawler defends the OBBBA's Medicaid provisions and disputes projections of the bill's costs. He also reacts to controversy over Texas Republicans trying to redraw congressional maps mid-decade–which has led Democrats in his state to threaten to do the same–and makes the case for banning partisan redistricting nationwide.Support for Firing Line with Margaret Hoover is provided by Robert Granieri, The Tepper Foundation, Vanessa and Henry Cornell, The Fairweather Foundation, and Pritzker Military Foundation.

Republicans in the Texas State House released their plans to redraw the state's congressional map this week. It's a nakedly partisan gambit to maximize GOP wins in next year's midterm elections, all at the behest of President Donald Trump. In response, some Democrats want the party to fight fire with fire. California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom said Thursday he wants a special election in a bid to offset Texas's shenanigans. Justin Levitt, a constitutional law professor at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and a former White House senior advisor to the Biden Administration, lays out the stakes for this mid-cycle redistricting war and why all of us should care. And in headlines: Trump slaps a 35 percent tariff on Canada after complaining about the country's plans to recognize a Palestinian state, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee and Special envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff are headed to Gaza, and Trump signs an executive order to bring back the Presidential Fitness Test to schools.Show Notes:Call Congress – 202-224-3121Subscribe to the What A Day Newsletter – https://tinyurl.com/3kk4nyz8What A Day – YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/@whatadaypodcastFollow us on Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/crookedmedia/For a transcript of this episode, please visit crooked.com/whataday

In this episode of The Daily Herold, Jon Herold sits down with Taryn Dar, Oregon State Director of Women for Gun Rights, for a compelling interview on the uphill battle Second Amendment advocates face in deep blue states like Oregon. Taryn shares firsthand insights from the frontlines, detailing legislative efforts to restrict gun ownership and the strategic pushback from her organization. Jon then dives into the fallout from recent declassifications, including a new strike force launched by the DOJ to investigate intelligence corruption tied to the Obama administration's role in the 2016 election interference narrative. He plays powerful clips from Tulsi Gabbard and discusses what it would take to actually hold Obama accountable, questioning the effectiveness of special counsels compared to a RICO-focused strike force. The episode also covers Trump's executive orders on AI, the blocked Epstein grand jury documents, the media meltdown over South Park's latest Trump satire, and the DOJ's investigation into UnitedHealth. With sharp commentary and an eye for the bigger picture, Jon lays out how the narrative is shifting, and why staying focused is more important than ever.

www.commsolutionsmn.com-  Karine Jean Pierre, Joe Biden's former Press Secretary, just left the Democrat Party. Is this a change of heart? Nope. She just wanted to come to the aid of her former boss and name names in her new book. The media and everyone else turned a blind eye as she lied and gave one poor answer after another. Now they are coming for her. There's been little to no self reflection on the left side of the aisle. Where can they go from here. The House passed the Big, Beautiful Bill, and it's laying with the Senate. It's not a great bill, but is it an ok first step? There are some Republicans in the Senate that refuse to back it, so will it pass? The Trump tax cuts are in it, but there's not a lot of spending cuts. Some of the DOGE cuts are in it, but not all of them. There's some Green New Deal cuts, but not a lot. Whay aren't Trump's Executive Orders, like abolishing the Dept of Education being codified into law? Instead, we're looking at raising the debt ceiling which is dangerous in our current economic situation. Who is going to buy our debt if we keep taking on more? We have one shot and had better do the right thing to get the economy moving. We are also watching a rise in antisemitism once again. The old hatreds are coming back as students are raging on campuses. We are see violence being accepted as Jews are being shot and fire-bombed  in the street. There is so much ignorance and it seems to fuel the aggression against Jewish people. Hamas steals the aid that comes into Gaza, so that they can sell the food on the black market to buy weapons and dig tunnels. Yet, Israel gets all of the blame for the people having nothing. Why does this keep coming back? Why are the Jews always the target of hate? We delve into history looking for answers so that maybe we can begin to discuss some answers.

In this episode, Aaron Fragnito returns to The Property Profits Podcast to reveal how he's capitalizing on overlooked opportunities in New Jersey's competitive and regulation-heavy real estate market. With over a decade of experience and more than 300 transactions under his belt, Aaron shares why he's bullish on Class A and C multifamily assets—even amid rising interest rates and increased cap rates. Aaron discusses how bureaucratic inefficiencies can actually benefit long-term investors, and breaks down how cap rate fluctuations translate into millions in potential gains for savvy buyers. He also explains his firm's evolving approach to capital raising, highlighting how he's now attracting family offices and institutional capital, while still welcoming accredited investors into his deals. Whether you're new to real estate or scaling into larger investments, Aaron offers no-nonsense advice for working with brokers, structuring fund-to-fund relationships, and getting started with smaller multifamily deals the right way. Key Takeaways: Why interest rate hikes have created new buying opportunities The real-world impact of cap rate shifts on property valuations How under-leased and mismanaged properties provide hidden value Why Aaron is committed to the New Jersey market despite its “red tape” Best ways to build broker relationships and get into bigger deals   - Get Interviewed on the Show! - ================================== Are you a real estate investor with some 'tales from the trenches' you'd like to share with our audience? Saving Elephants | Millennials defending & expressing conservative values

What if the real division in America isn't between Republicans and Democrats, Red States vs Blue States, or liberals and conservatives but between the American people and a small group of the political elite whose function is to divide the rest of us?  Tony Woodlief joins Saving Elephants host Josh Lewis to discuss how we may not be as divided as we think and how federalism holds the solution to many of the policy battles of the moment.   About Tony Woodlief Excerpts from Tony's bio in the State Policy Network and on his author page:   Tony Woodlief is State Policy Network's Senior Executive Vice President and Senior Fellow for SPN's Center for Practical Federalism. He helps oversee SPN operations, supports SPN's president in her guidance of the leadership team, and helps ensure the organization's projects and programs measure success, evolve as SPN grows, and maintain alignment with our vision and mission.   Tony previously served as president of the Bill of Rights Institute, and before that the Market-Based Management Institute. He has also served as president of the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. An alumnus of the University of North Carolina, he has a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Michigan, and an MFA from Wichita State University. Tony has appeared in media outlets including Fox News, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Post, National Review, and C-SPAN's Washington Journal.   Tony Woodlief is also an author. His short fiction has appeared in Image, Reckon Review, Ruminate, Dappled Things, and elsewhere. His story “Name” received a Pushcart Honorable Mention in 2010, and was included in Image Journal's 25th anniversary anthology. Tony's spiritual memoir, Somewhere More Holy, was listed among Image's top ten works of 2010. His most recent book is the novel We Shall Not All Sleep.   Tony is also the author of I, Citizen: A Blueprint for Reclaiming American Self-Governance. In writing I, Citizen, Tony conducted extensive research on American public opinion to find out what Americans believe and uncover the source of their political animosities. Through his research, Tony discovered that America is more united than divided, despite what the pundits tell us, and traced the source of our perceived animosity to a small minority of dedicated partisans within the political establishment of Washington, DC. I, Citizen tells the story of how these partisans have created the myth of a divided America and how they've concentrated power in the hands of unelected bureaucrats and partisan elites, and offers practical solutions for how we can reclaim our right to self-governance by focusing on solutions and commonalities closer to home.

Could it possibly be the best of times as well as the worst of times for the pro-life movement? This has been a topic we have visited before on this show. Following the Supreme Court's decision in the Dobbs case, immediate celebration met the harsh realities of how divided the country remains on abortion. The political reaction to the Dobbs decision, with Blue States in particular enshrining abortion rights in their states, confirmed that overturning the Roe and Caseyregime would not by itself change the culture. But there have been hopeful signs for pro-lifers intermixed with these challenges in the past few years too. To discuss these ever-changing developments, we can't think of someone wewould rather have on our show at a more timely moment than Jennie Bradley Lichter.  Jennie assumed the office of President of the March for Life Education and Defense Fund in February, 2025. In this capacity, she proudly directs the organization responsible for the largest  annual gathering of pro-lifers, the March forLife in Washington, D.C.Jennie has wide-ranging legal and policy experience in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, including at the highest levels of the federal government. During the Trump Administration, Jennie served in the White House as a Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of the White House Domestic Policy Council (DPC) where she supervised rulemaking and policy efforts implicating a number of federal agencies, and led policy initiatives across the federal government to defend the dignity of life.Prior to her White House service, Jennie was Deputy General Counsel at Catholic University of America, and worked on policy issues and federal judicial (including Supreme Court) confirmation efforts in the Office of Legal Policy at the U.S.Department of Justice.  She previously served as in-house counsel for the Archdiocese of Washington. Early in her legal career, Jennie clerked for two federal appeals court judges and was an associate at the international law firm Jones Day.Jennie graduated from the University of Notre Dame and from Harvard Law School, and earned an M.Phil in Theology & Religious Studies from the University of Cambridge in the UK.  Jennie Bradley Lichter's full biography at the March for Life

Forte explains how the NYYRC is growing rapidly in one of the bluest states in the country and why young people, especially following the pandemic, are rejecting the radical leftist agenda. They also explore how Republicans are gaining ground in deep-blue cities, the disconnect of establishment GOP figures stuck in the past, and what the party must do to capitalize on the momentum. The conversation touches on Trump, grassroots organizing, and the urgency of political courage in today's culture war. Episode Highlights: Why young conservatives are energized and organizing in blue strongholds like New York How establishment Republicans still underestimate how far left Democrats have gone What the GOP must do to secure victories beyond 2024 and win over disaffected voters
