Hoy en Actívate hablamos del cáncer sin tabúes. En 2024 se diagnosticaron 34.683 nuevos casos de cáncer de este tipo en España y 6.070 hombres fallecieron por esta causa. Pocos nos podemos imaginar que estamos hablando del cáncer de próstata, al que acompaña un doble halo de silencio entre los hombres: el miedo a reconocer que tienen cáncer y la vergüenza o el pudor que les da reconocer que es su próstata la afectada. ⏳ También pocos nos podemos imaginar que son 16 hombres al día los que mueren de cáncer de próstata. Un cáncer que tiene más de un 90% de probabilidades de curación si es detectado a tiempo. Y sorprende más aún que la prueba para detectarlo es un sencillo análisis de sangre, algo tan cotidiano y nada invasivo como es acudir a la cita con tu médico de cabecera. ️ Hoy hablamos con Julio Criado que, ante la falta de herramientas y conocimiento, no pudo detectarlo a tiempo y afronta un cáncer de próstata con metástasis en estadio IV. Hoy, lo cuenta sin miedo a familia, amigos y compañeros de trabajo. Porque lo que no se cuenta, no existe. Estamos a 7 de enero y hoy han comenzado las rebajas, una fecha que han escogido los trabajadores de El Corte Inglés para hacer un paro y protestar por sus condiciones laborales. Es la primera manifestación en la historia de la compañía, convocada por CGT, uno de sus sindicatos minoritarios. La secretaria estatal de esta sección sindical de El Corte Inglés, Melissa Cacho, nos explica que sus condiciones "han disminuido bastante en estos 19 años debido a la reducción de plantilla" y por ello tienen que "descargar palés de mercancía y realizar funciones de mozo de carga". Desde la sección sindical de El Corte Inglés también reclaman a la empresa que los dependientes tienen "jornadas de 10 horas e, incluso, llevamos muchas veces 11 días sin librar". Estas circunstancias repercuten en el "cansancio y disminución de las fuerzas de los empleados", anuncia. Sobre por qué otros sindicatos como CCOO o UGT no se han sumado a la concentración, la secretaria de CGT ha afirmado que "tanto Comisiones Obreras como UGT firman los mismos acuerdos y no hay nada que les pueda diferenciar [...] No se preocupan por defender los derechos de los trabajadores", concluye.
