I Am (I'm Me)". Las canciones de Twisted Sister "Under the Blade" y "We're Not Gonna Take It" fueron mencionadas específicamente en las convocatorias del Senado. A.J. En 2001, Koch Records lanzó un álbum tributo titulado "Twisted Forever|Twisted Forever - A Tribute To The Legendary Twisted Sister". Of Filth, Joan Jett, Sebastian Bach, and Hammerfall.

So back in the far flung past (last month or so*) we solicited questions from the people. Mostly on Twitter. Also via spamming Third Impact Anime's Facebook Community. These are those questions. And our answers! In December. Look, time is an illusion, we all know this. *Pretty sure the idea was to record in October, then release in November? But now it's December. Hi December! OSMnotes Ryan is a pretty cool dude and you can check out his Twitter right here! Thanks everyone for sending in questions! Some, we'll have to come back to you all on them. As some are really whole episode topics in their own right (Looking at you, Top Ten Anime Betrayals)! So speaking of Momocon, this was the first year where they really blew up their video gaming to something truly huge. Something special. they called it the MGX, or Momocon Gaming Experience. Not only was there tons of tabletop gaming to be had, or console gaming, or even an arcade, as they had all of these things. But what Momocon also had, was an indies space for video games. And along with our pals from Chainsaw Buffet, we played almost all of them. These are those stories. As recorded late at night during some night at Momocon. OSMnotes GOOD GRAVY there were a bunch of games at Momocon this year! Frankly, I have no idea how those actual video game sites cover even bigger shows like E3! Wait, I think they get paid though... huh. Oh well! Of course, thanks to the Chainsaw Boys for helping us cover all these games! But you did not come here for this part of the OSMnotes, clearly. Next time, something fresh off the microphone! We are kicking a few ideas around. If you have any ideas of topics of things to cover, feel free to hit up Basil on Twitter. Or Kevin! Or hey, even the OSMcast account itself. We are not picky.
Long time, no podcast? Well, let's fix that! We're going to start with an OSMinterview we did with Greg Weisman during this year's Momocon along with the Chainsaw Buffet podcast. Greg Weisman was one of the co-creators of Disney animated series Gargoyles, and also worked on Young Justice, as well as Star Wars Rebels. We talk to him about all those things, but we also chatted about his books Rain of the Ghosts, as well as it's sequel book Spirits of Ash and Foam. OSMnotes Firstly, big thanks to both Greg Weisman and Momocon for making the interview possible. You should all check out his books! Basil sure did, and will probably report back in on those soon enough. Secondly, hi we're back! And we even have a second episode being prepped for next week! So that's exciting.
In our final interview of the MTAC 15 to Life Series, we got found out who Erica Mendez's Love Live is! Oh, I guess we should mention that Erica Mendez is the voice over artist of Aladdin in the Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic series as well as Ryuko Matoi in Kill la Kill. But importantly, we find out who her favorite Love Live is. Because We Know What Anitwitter Wants™. Of course we talk about her adventures in the acting of voices over things, as well as video games, and Mobile Fighter G Gundam! You know, all the finer things in life. This happened at MTAC 15 to Life, in a press conference style sort of the affair along with the Chainsaw Buffet and some other wonderful folks. Please, have a listen. OSMnotes We have switched hosting! The OSMcast is now powered by simplecast.fm. What this means is that in May/June we will be switching RSS feeds! So if you would like to switch your RSS now, that might make things easier for the future! That said, we have been able to switch it already over at Sticher. They’re good folks, that Sticher. In fact, if you use Sticher, could you leave us a review? It would be most appreciated!
In our second interview of the MTAC 15 to Life Series, we had the wonderful chance to chat with Tiffany Grant. While best known for her role in Neon Genesis Evangelion,as Asuka, she has also been a ton of other roles! From as early as Kome Sawaguchi in Blue Seed (1996), to even Lune from The World God Only Knows (2015), Tiffany Grant is one of the most decorated Voice Over Artists around. So it was extremely thrilling to gotten to have talked with. About all sorts of things, from Hello Kitty, to speaking German, to Hello Kitty some more. Possibly while speaking German. Oh, and some things about voice acting in anime, too. Sure. Waaaaaaaaaay back in the earlier days of the OSMcast!, we met a young man named Micah Solusod. Turned out he was the English Voice Over Artist for the role of Soul in Soul Eater. Since then, the man has gone to do a whole lot more of that Voice Over Stuff! Guy's been in Wolf Children, Kamisama Kiss, and just recently was one of the main guys in the English adaption of Ping Pong: the Animation! So we decided it was time to get back in touch with the kid, and see what was going down lately. This happened at MTAC 15 to Life this year, in a press conference style sort of the affair along with the Chainsaw Buffet and some other wonderful folks. Please, have a listen.
Charlie, Dylan, and John talk about their experiences with Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and ProjectXZone, and the New 3DS and the recent trend of awful console naming conventions. Then Dylan launches the first in a series of discussions about Cards Against Humanity and possible alternatives to the game, Charlie talks about Arby’s […]
Chii Sakurabi Yes, you thought we were done with MTAC! But as it turns out, we were able to get out one last interview. This one is with Chii Sakurabi, an international J-POP singer, recording artist, and lolita fashion enthusiast from Tokyo, Japan. We got to talk to her about her music, fashion, as well as her latest album: Moon Princess. OSMnotes Chii Sakurabi’s website | Chii Sakurabi’s Facebook | Chii Sakurabi’s YouTube | Moon Princess So, OK. We had this audio that we did with an interview with J-Pop vocalist Chii Sakurabi at this past MTAC. When we got home, our files were being all corrupted and stuff. Not so good, since Chii Sakurabi did talk to us, so we really wanted to get that audio out. BUT THEN, we figured out a way to make it work so yay here have said audio! We want to give a gigantic thanks to both Chii Sakurabi and MTAC for the chance for the interview. And since it was more press conference style, we weren’t the only ones there asking the questions! You also heard questions from Charlie from the Chainsaw Buffet, as well as Andrew from A Man and His Pod, among others. So big shout outs to them as well. Next time we will have a normal OSMcast for you, likely yet another one about an American movie blockbuster based of a Japanese thing.
Martin Billany aka LittleKuriboh Wrapping up our MTAC in Love interviews we did, here’s the one we recorded with Martin Billany! Although most people know him as LittleKuriboh, creator of Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series. We here at the OSMcast know the name as the name that Basil cannot pronounce, ever. Thankfully, this interview is nothing about that. It’s instead about more fun, or Billany-esque topics. OSMnotes We want to give a gigantic thanks to both Martin Billany and MTAC for the chance for the interview. And since it was more press conference style, we weren’t the only ones there asking the questions! You also heard questions from Charlie from the Chainsaw Buffet, as well as Andrew from A Man and His Pod, among others. So big shout outs to them as well. However the Chainsaw Boys do get extra shouts outs for their awesome presence at Hamacon. Hamacon of course being the con where we at the OSMcast were so busy helping make happen, that we are really lucky to have this interview to release instead of an actual episode! But we’ll be back with an actual episode… At some point!
Marianne Miller Wait what, you thought we were done with MTAC in Love yet? Not quite! This latest interview is with Marianne Miller, who has voiced in a several anime like Sword Art Online, Squid Girl, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, and a few others! She’s also really into Dragon Age, which worked out because we are, too! We also talk about squid stuff, and tattoos, and well a whole bunch of stuff. Like poop! It’s good stuff, so you should probably go listen. Right now. Not sure why you are still reading this text. Other than the fact that I’ve already typed it, and you are looking for catharsis. If that’s the case, I’m done. Feel relieved. Now go listen to Marianne Miller! OSMnotes We want to give a gigantic thanks to both Marianne Miller and MTAC for the chance for the interview. And since it was more press conference style, we were’t the only ones there asking the questions! You also heard questions from Charlie from the Chainsaw Buffet, as well as Andrew from A Man and His Pod, among others. So big shout outs to them as well. Yes, we gave them shout outs before, and will likely do so again. In, you know, about a week or two. Not a lot to say right now otherwise, as we here at the OSMcast have a whooooole bunch of work left to do to get ready for Hamacon! Why is time still moving, we need to get these things done oh noooooo
Vedetta Marie ScatterDOTFashion Sometimes, you gotta spin the wheel, play the cards, hit the Greed button in an MMO and hope you come out of the dungeon with a pretty cool new thing. At this past MTAC (that MTAC In Love con you’ve been hearing so much from us about?), we took a chance. We had an interview that we seriously had no clue what was going to happen. Thankfully, we came out of it with a pretty cool new thing! And that thing is this interview. We got the chance to sit down and chat with Vedetta Marie and ScatterDOTFashion, a cosplay and Japanese fashion due par excellance. Now, you may think that the OSMcast is nothing but glamor, pizazz, and fashionability, but really all we know about fashion comes from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures and Paradise Kiss. Which isn’t nearly enough keep up with these fashionista kids. However, they are totally cool people and it ended up being a really fun talk. Would chat with again! Five stars (Out of OSM, obviously)! OSMnotes We want to give a gigantic thanks to both Vedetta Marie, ScatterDOTFashion, and MTAC for the chance for the interview. Next week, what could it be?! Well we haven’t recorded yet, buuuuuuut it’s probably Godzilla.
The Hatmaster. Or Meister. Anime loves Meisters. We’re not done MTAC in Lovin’ yet, folks! We had a chance to sit down several amazing people during this year MTAC, and we have only just begun releasing those interviews! But out of all of them, Samantha Inoue-Harte might be the most interesting of bunch. At the very least, she has them all beat in just sheer quantities of hats she has worn throughout the years. We’re talking animator hats, voice over artist hats, producer hats, gore effects person hats, and more but pretty much all around delightful hats. Lately, according to MTAC, “Samantha is a Producer and Partner at Animetropolis, a boutique transmedia studio that develops and produces compelling cross-cultural creative content with partnering Japanese Anime studios. Animetropolis partnered with IDA (International Digital Artists) as production partner and lead animation unit for a Japanese/American co-produced CG-animated feature adaptation of Tailchaser’s Song, the acclaimed best-selling fantasy novel by author Tad Williams.” She talks about that, and a whole lot more. So much more. OSMnotes We want to give a gigantic thanks to both Samantha Inoue-Harte and MTAC for the chance for the interview. And since it was more press conference style, we were’t the only ones there asking the questions! You also heard questions from John and Charlie from the Chainsaw Buffet, as well as Andrew from A Man and His Pod, among others. So big shout outs to them as well. Yes, we gave them shout outs before, and will likely do so again. In, you know, about a week or two. But what’s next week going to hold? Flamencos. Samurais. Samurai Flamenco.
Another Year, another Easter, another MTAC. Like in years of the past, we ventured into the Middle Tennessee Anime Convention for their latest year, MTAC In Love. But. were we in love with the con this year? Well, like any loving relationship, we had our ups, and our downs. There were some missed communications, but at the same time there were moments of bliss. Ultimately though, at the end of the day or con or whatever, we could look into each other’s eyes and see that the fire was still there. Speaking of loving relationships, we are once again joined at the hip with the Chainsaw Buffet podcast for this episode. We wouldn’t want to have it anyother way. OSMnotes Next week, we’ll be updating! Again! With another interview! How exciting! But hold your horses folks, but we still have Time Cues. Oh boy! We start the OSMcast!ing – 00:00 General Gabbing – 00:34 Middle Tennessee Anime Convention (In Love!) Setting the Stage of Discourse – 2:33 Friday – 31:53 Saturday – 55:07 Sunday, nope still Saturday – 75:29 Sunday – 80:36 Final Thoughts – 82:58
It’s time to ta- ta- ta- talk! At MTAC in Love, we got the rare opportunity to interview the king of games himself, Dan Green. Dan Green is an American voice actor, voice director and script adapter who has worked for 4Kids Entertainment, DuArt Film and Video, NYAV Post and Central Park Media. He is best known as the voice of Yugi Muto from Yu-Gi-Oh!, Trudge from Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s, Knuckles the Echidna in Sonic X and some of the Sonic the Hedgehog video games, and is also known for his script adaptions of Kurokami: The Animation and Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. This was Dan’s first appearance at an American anime convention to date. OSMnotes We want to give a gigantic thanks to both Dan Green and MTAC for the chance for the interview. And since it was more press conference style, we were’t the only ones there asking the questions! You also heard questions from John and Charlie from the Chainsaw Buffet, as well as Andrew from A Man and His Pod, among others. So big shout outs to them as well. Next week will be our traditional recorded late at night with Chainsaws MTAC podcast that I’m sure everyone is excited for!
So with Hamacon’s Minicon going on this past Saturday (Which went very well thank you for asking!), we did not have a chance to record an OSMcast proper. However, we didn’t want to leave you hanging and as it just so happens… Basil was on the latest episode of the Chainsaw Buffet talking about GMX, Tennessee’s Geek Media Expo. Listen in on talks of Peggle! Awesome shojo-esque Kickstarters! How Basil reads books! AND SO MUCH MORE!
Yeah, I got nuthin. But chainsaws. Why hello there! Would you like a podcast? Because we have one! The story of this podcast is thus: Basil was super busy and did not have to plan or assemble a normal OSMcast, and so enlisted the mightiest warriors from throughout the land. And ended up with John and Dylan from the Chainsaw Buffet. And as we had more Buffet than OSM this time, the podcast runs the gambit of wild and crazy things such as TV shows, anime, table top gaming, and more. It’s a cornucopia of a scattershot of topics that will be sure to please one and all. Or at least Hisui. OSMnotes LOOK YOU ARE LUCKY TO GET A PODCAST, ALRIGHT?! We’ll try to get some time cues in here, but no promises.
AWA 2013 So here we are. A podcast about Anime Weekend Atlanta 2013. A podcast about Anime Weekend Atlanta 2013 with Basil and Kevin as well as Charlie and Dylan from the Chainsaw Buffet. A podcast about Anime Weekend Atlanta 2013 with Basil and Kevin as well as Charlie and Dylan from the Chainsaw Buffet where they talk about many things, from the sudden conventions growth, to food trucks, to what they did, panels that we were, lines that were long, fun that was had, some food trucks again, and just how big of a Carl Horn fanboy really is Basil, anyway? So in other words, it was a podcast about Anime Weekend Atlanta 2013. OSMnotes This was recorded on Sunday, edited all night on Monday, and released before we went to sleep. Therefore, no matter when you see this, or what the website may or may not say: We are calling this episode Up On Time. Throwing it up on the board. Claiming victory over defeat. Editing a photoshop file in our favor. This was the time it was ordained to be. Speaking of time, here have some Time Cues , We start the OSMcast!ing – 0:00 General Gabbing – 02:04 MOMENTS OF OSM – 07:49 Pokémon X and Y – 07:16 Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game – 13:03 Betrayal at House on the Hill – 18:03 Anime Weekend Atlanta 2013 Setting the Stage of Discourse – 23:56 Thursday/Friday – 51:12 Saturday – 79:14 Sunday – 113:11 Final Thoughts – 123:57
And when you see Micah at conventions, make sure you ask him for that Fresh Tokyo Smile. He’ll appreciate it! In a world where ALIENS live on EARTH and listen to podcasts that no HUMANS know about… That’s right in our latest episode of the OSMcast we are chatting about Studio Pierrot’s and David Production’s anime adaption of Yoshihiro Togashi’s Level E. We are joined by our fellows the Chainsaw Buffet as well as the man, the myth, the LEGEND (in our own minds) Micah Solusod. Who also happens to be the voice actor for the up and coming baseball player Yukitaka Tsutsui, and much like character is known for his Fresh Tokyo Smile. OSMnotes BUY IT. STREAM IT. STREAM IT SOME MORE. It’s Good Stuff™. One might even say… OSMstuff. I mean, OSMstuff™. And once again, much thanks for Micah for coming on and chatting with us this year. You should immediately go read his webcomic Ties That Bind_ right now_. It’s also OSMstuff®©£¥¶™. Two updates on the correct updating schedule MY word what have we gotten ourselves into?! Now people will start to expect things from us oh man what have we done… Thankfully, Otakon is coming up and we going again this year! This should provide plenty of chances for recording goodness, if the last time is any indication. So if you see, well hear, us, say hi!
Nao Yazawa This episode of the OSMcast! is one of those chances that when presented to you, you just have to take. It’s a truly rare thing to get to interview a creator of something that you love, and even rarer for it to be someone from another country. In this case, it was manga and and a manga creator from Japan. Specifically, we had the most wondrous opportunity to talk with Nao Yazawa, who has created such things as Wedding Peach, Nozomi, and most recently a series called Moon and Blood. We got to chat about her experience at cons, creating manga, and more. It was conducted at this year’s MTAC. Some may even know it as MTAC Devil’s Dozen. OSMnotes Once again, gigantic thanks for MTAC and Nao Yazawa for this opportunity to chat with her. While Wedding Peach is out of print, it’s currently not the hardest thing to track down. That said, Moon and Blood is very much in print, very shojo-riffic, and is a pretty enjoyable read. This is coming from Basil, who normally can tolerate vampire stuff only as Castlevania and Hellsing. The manga page in question that Kevin asked about. And as a favor we would like to ask the world: Like we mentioned in our previous MTAC podcast, when you have a chance to see a panel or talk to the creator of something? Take it. When it comes down to it, it’s that craziness that rests beneath their cranium that gives all the awesome in the world. The shows, games, comics that we get to experience and talk about in tweets, blogs, audio recordings set loose upon the internet. In many ways they are unsung heroes and heroines, and they are some of the most important people around in geekdom. In other OSMnews, we already have the next episode mostly ready, so you should see an actual update next Monday! It is the last long lost episode we had left in the Pile of Shame that was last year, a roundtable about Toonami with the Chainsaw Buffet and Voice-Over Actor Supreme Micah Solusod. It’s only almost a year out of date! That’s still fresh, right? RIGHT? So anyway look forward to it!
It’s like he’s pointing at himself! In tonight’s ACTION PACKED episode of the OSMcast!. we team up with the Chainsaw Buffet to interview one Mark Meer at Momocon 2013. You probably have heard him giving voice to the male half of everyone’s favorite Commander on the Citadel, Commander Shepard of Mass Effect*. As it turns out, he’s worked with BioWare for much longer than one might be aware! *Not that the OSMcast has liked the Mass Effect series of games or anything. OSMnotes We’d just like to thank Momocon and Mark Meer for letting him chat it up with us, even if all it did was make us wish we could have talked with him more! Also, hey did you see the new website? We have one! It’s looks all NEW. Unless this is your first time, in which case it probably looks all old. Or at least normal, I guess. Either way, welcome! If you haven’t checked us out lately, please peruse our Index of OSM, the archive of all our audio to date. As it turns out we have been running on and on for five years and you tend to accumulate a bunch of stuff in that time! In fact, we are dangerously close to hitting episode 100! If you have any ideas for that, let us know! We’re plumb out.
Momocon 2013 What the- A podcast posted by the OSMcast! about a con that is more recent than a year ago, perhaps even posted within the month it actually OCCURRED in?! Could… we be actually getting our act together!? Maybe! Although really it’s with the help of the wonderful, gallant, and lovely gents from the Chainsaw Buffet, our ever awesome OSM compadres from the land of the North (of Alabama, in Tennessee). Once more, we have teamed up our forces to bring you the tales of derring-do! This time, we have dared Momocon: Atlanta’s Anime, Animation, and Gaming Convention. And we have returned to audio spin those yarns! OSMnotes Speaking of cons, we will be heading out this weekend to the Middle Tennessee Anime Convention, or you know, MTAC. As is his want, Basil will be hosting some panels at the con! They are: Even More Manga You Need to BUY RIGHT NOW (Friday 10 AM, Fan Panel 2) Manga, the world of Japanese comics. There used to be an absolute ton of these things on the market, but times are changing and not for the better. However, there are still a great many series and one shots that are being published today! And we are going to tell you all about them! Engrish Jamboree (Friday, 3PM, Panel 2) Rs may not be Ls but when you are speaking English in Japanese the lures go light out the window! The Engrish Jamboree is what happens when you take one language and churn it through another language with hilarious results. Anime and Live-Action clips, music videos, if people are fumbling through English, we got it. Getting Your Anime Groove Back (Saturday, 9PM, Panel 2) Anime burn out happens all the time. Sometimes life gets in the way and people lose interest in keeping up with the latest shows and news. This panel looks at a few shows that may rekindle that anime fan deep inside that just wants to be free again. Of course, times for these things can always change. We’ll see you… next week! Or perhaps… EVEN SOONER?! We have some smaller, more bite sized episodes we can upload. So you will be hearing more from us much sooner than one would normally think.
Welcome to 2013! The usher in this bold new year, we decided to run content that we were in as an update so you know that we are not quite yet out of the game. And by we, I mean Kevin. He joined up with the Chainsaw Buffet guys at this past GMX to talk to “That Guy With The Glasses” himself, Doug Walker, to talk about his past, present, and upcoming projects. Or so UNDERSCORE JOHNNY GO claims. Next week, something no one HAS EVER HEARD OF BEFORE!!!!!!!!!
The crew risks excommunication to bring you a very special Christmas podcast.

While at GMX, they filmed several of us recording some of our most loved memories from their fives years of existence, in a documentary that is all 100 percent true and factual. It’s in three parts, and you can find all three here, here, and also here. Coincidentally. in March the OSMcast will ALSO turn 5! Also, as this is episode 93, next year (hopefully) we will be reaching OSMcast 100! 100 episodes! One hundred! Hellooooooo, Rob! It’s Catch Up Week* here at the OSMcast where we realize that the Chainsaw Buffet guys posted audio we were in and so we should PROBABLY post that up as well. So for today’s** Catch Up we have got for you the audio from the press conference the wonderful people at GMX set up for Rob Paulsen. Chances are, Rob has voiced everyone from cartoons you cared out that wasn’t done by Steve Blum*** or John DiMaggio***. He’s the the voice behind Raphael from the 1987 cartoon of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Yakko Warner and Dr. Otto Scratchansniff from Animaniacs, Pinky from Pinky and the Brain and Animaniacs, and ALSO voice of Donatello from the NEW Ninja Turtles cartoon. And he’s also pretty amazing. But chances are you know that already****! *Actually it’s just today. **We posted both Catch Ups today. ***HINT HINT, GMX! ****You know that already because you already listened to this thanks to the Chainsaw Buffet podcast. Right? RIGHT??
Chad, Charlie, Dylan, and John discuss the group's recent visit to Anime Blast Chattanooga, then reminisce about the site's lack of success as Chainsaw Buffet turns five.
The crew once again joins forces with the OSMcast to recount their experience at GMX Volume 4.
Jessica Straus This is ACTION PACKED episode full of DRAMA AND PATHOS Basil interviews voice over artist Jessica Straus! She has done many a voice from many a thing, like Juri from Super Street Fighter IV, the Amazon in Diablo 2, Gidget from Eureka 7, Sasha from Infamous 2, and a whole bunch more. And we should point out, while we are known far and wide throughout the land as the podcast that asks HARD HITTING questions, we don’t think you have heard questions asked quite like some of these. This could be both our greatest and worst interview ever done to date. OSMnotes An update?! On a Monday! What is this…? I dunno but maybe it will continue…??? This interview is dedicated to Dylan of the Chainsaw Buffet podcast and website au gratin, the Habe of My Heart and Soul Dylan is the moe-est!
Jason David Frank at MTAC Omega So we have not updated in forever… Sorry about that! Meanwhile, while you wait for the more traditional OSMcast podcastion (we even have a few episodes recorded already!), here’s something that may interest you. This is the entire press conference that Jason David Frank, power ranger, master of the red white and green, and mixed martial arts extraordinaire, answered questions for us at MTAC Omega. The OSMcast was not alone in asking questions, we were in fact merely one of many. Wondrous other media shindigs that were asking questions alike where groups such as 2ShotsofGeek, One Pixel Jump, HJU Radio, Space Gypsies, CX2 Media, NickiDtv, and more! Probably much more. If we missed anyone please let us know so we can fix that. And extra props goes out the Chainsaw Buffet guys for recording and editing the audio for us! OSMnotes OK! So we have some episodes recorded that are in dire need of editing before they get exposed out into the world wide web. But here is the inteneded order of release. Ghost Rider 2: Best Superhero Movie of 2012 A Podcast Roundtable about Toonami MTAC Omega OSMinterview with Jessica Straus After that who knows what craziness will ensue. Probably podcasts. UNTIL THEN.
Do you remember when the Punisher met Archie? What about when the crew of the Enterprise teamed up with the X-Men? Or how about when the 80's Cartoon All-Stars tried to rescue that kid from drugs? Chad, Dylan, and John are joined by Niko from CineGeek and MTAC and friend-of-the-show Patrick to talk about crossovers from comics, video games, sci-fi, and cartoons.
Charlie and Dylan from Chainsaw Buffet and Kevin from the OSMCast sit down with Richard Epcar (Batou from Ghost in the Shell, Jigen from Lupin III) at MTAC Omega and talk about Richard's prolific career as a voice actor, director, and ADR writer/supervisor.
GMX Volume 3, October 21-23. 2011 Happy Halloween! But for the OSMcast, it’s just Monday. Another day, another convention. The last con the OSMcast_!_ decided to cover this year was the Geek Media Expo in glorious Nashville, Tennessee. It’s a cornucopia of all things geek, media, and exponential and so we realized we couldn’t do this sort of thing alone. So we drug in the wonderful Chainsaw Buffet dudes and dames to chat with us about the con. We talk about panels, parties, parking, and the most annoying fangirl around. It’s a fun time! OSMnotes That said, while this the last con the OSMcast_!_ is covering, it’s not the last con the OSMcast_!_ will be at! We’ll be at the HAMACON Holiday Minicon in Huntsville, Alabama on November 12, 2001! Basil is one of the directors of the con, so we can’t very well objectively cover it. That said, you know it will be awesome. Basil guarantees it! (He kinda has to, as he is the Director of Awesome of the con.)
Because a house certainly cannot have four, or six leaves. That just wouldn't do. What’s this?! A podcast releasing on schedule?! Why yes… yes it is! The OSMcast_!_ once again returns faithfully to your audio-listening side as we discuss Natsume Ono’s House of Five Leaves, with the manga being released by Viz Media and the anime being streamed online by FUNimation. Joining us for this not so action packed episode is the voice actor extraordinaire that is Micah Solusod, and Charlie from PodcastSuperFriends™ the Chainsaw Buffet podcast. It’s 41+ minutes of podcast fun! OSMnotes House of Five Leaves is a thing that should be read! Or watched! So we expect that you all will be getting to that immediately. If you are already a smart, lovely, and amazing person that already knew about the wonders of House of Five Leaves, then would you like to try an awesome visual novel-styled game that isn’t porn? Perhaps a murder mystery? Might we suggest you take a look over at sakevisual? While you folks are working on that, we’ll be heading out to super hot and also steamy Baltimore, Maryland this weekend for an exciting adventure at Otakon. It will be exciting! And adventrous! And at some point I’m sure we’ll be telling you all about it. In podcast form.
It's a con that knows how to rock out with it's uh, anime out! THE OSMCAST IS BACK! And we have brought back with us the motherload of Middle Tennessee Anime Convention con report in audio form goodness. You can even tell it was even recorded at the con4! (Some parts, more than others. Also we originally planned on releasing this much, much earlier.) Since MTAC decided this year to Go to 11, so did we. We start off being all self absorbed and talked about our panels with the wonderful gentlemen of Akihabra Renditions (and SeishunCon). Then we drug in the guys from Tennesse’s own Chainsaw Buffet podcast to talk about the convention istelf. Finally, we get to have a chat with Nicholas Qualls (Senior Director of Public Relations), Christi Binkley (Director of Media Relation), and the big man himself Lucas Leverett (Convention Chairman, Senior Director of Venue & VIP Affairs). And in-between all these bits are on the spot and off the cuff interviews we had with the con goers themselves. FUN FACT: We would have called this the MTAC Omegacast, but their name for next year is MTAC Omega! So I guess we’ll have to wait until next year as well. Darn! Also, this is probably now officially our longest podcast ever. OSMnotes Sorry that we have been away so long! But rest assured, we are back and ready for action! And by action, we mean Otakon. It’s going to be _exciting! _ If you would like to read even more words about things like anime and what not, Basil even updated his blog somewhat recently-ish.
All killer, no filler for these notes. We talk about Middle Tennessee Anime Convention. We have Gaara and Naruto from the Konoha Corner podcast, John from Chainsaw Buffet and the show debut of CJ Hitchcock from the D2 Brigade.Click here to download episode (Right-click and Save As)(0:00 - 10:06) IntroWe introduce ourselves here. You should know... Visit www.ssaapodcast.com for the full notes
Oh good, Blogger is back up. Looks like I can finally put up the notes for this episode. The SSAG returns to talk about some video game movies. This will be painful. Our good friend Richy McBeefy returns to the show and John from the Chainsaw Buffet podcast also stops by.Click here to download episode (Right-click and Save As)(0:00 - 10:00)... Liam O'Brien (Naruto, Code Geass) makes his Chainsaw Buffet debut as part of the ongoing "Voices For Japan" interview series.
OSMrobo got into the whole video game thing a little bit TOO much... It’s time to kick ass, take names, and chew some gum as the OSMcast wraps up the 2010 OSMawards with 2 hours of video game talk. Which is a lot. OSMnotes The OSMcast have been pretty busy lately! Basil guest-started on the one of the latest episodes of the Chainsaw Buffet podcast, where they did even more year in review hijinks! Although, after a total of almost 4 hours of OSMcast yearing in reviewing you’d think we would cover it all, but no. The Chainsaw guys have proven that the Basil Rock of OSM can be squeezed yet for more blood. Of awesome. And perhaps Basil will actually make use of his blog now? Well, Basil certainly has no clue, but he did churn out a post about liking Ghost Trick a lot. And as always, Lee churns out his webcomic Hazard’s Wake like a MADMAN. A hazardous madman.
According to Lee: "The blue lines aren't because I drew it on notebook paper. They are in fact the enemy robot's barrier shield that the OSMrobo is ripping through." As we all know, the first thing you do in a new year is to look back at the previous year, unless you have a decade to deal with. So to ring in 2011 we have got the first half of the 2010 OSMawards! In this just-shy-of-two-hours BEHEMOTH of a podcast we tackle the “passive” media of 2010. TV shows, movies, anime, novels, stuff you consume but don’t interact with… pretty much everything expect video games. So strap in, get some nice hot cocoa a warmin’, and listen to us yammer for a while! Bonus: And gaze up the MAJESTY that is OSMrobo that Lee drew while recording. His fists are fists of JUSTICE. And awesomeness. OSMnotes Bonus props to Narutaki of Reverse Thieves for rising to the challenge letting us know her picks via Twitter to help us fill in the gaps! If you’s also like to your thoughts in on a particular subject before we record, just keep an eye out for Basil’s twitter feed. Usually the day of recording or so, he’ll be asking for input. Speaking of asking for input, Basil was invited onto the Chainsaw Buffet podcast to further talk about the year 2010, which he did with gusto. Keep an eye for it!
Dylan and John talk about their experience at Geek Media Expo 2010 in Nashville, the release of Rock Band 3, the new XBox 360 dashboard, and the Chainsaw Buffet fantasy football league.
Anime Weekend Atlanta - September 17th-19th, 2010 Another year, another AWA. Another AWA, another podcast about AWA! So here is our con-report on Anime Weekend Atlanta 16, recorded late late Saturday night in our secret lair within the confines of the Renaissance Waverly Hotel. It covers Friday and Saturday since at the time of recording, Sunday hadn’t even officially happened yet! We are joined by the most dapper of gentlemen that are the Chainsaw Buffet podcast. So come listen in on te THRILL that is us talking about panels! The EXCITEMENT as Basil talks about locking his keys in his car! The WONDER of anime fans in Atlanta! OSMnotes As always, AWA was a grand ol’ time. We could type out all the awesome things we went to, but chances are you just listened to all of it! So instead I’m going to tell you all to go check out Dave Merrill’s webcomic ZERO FIGHTER. It’s pretty good stuff! Also we know that the Scott Pilgrim podcast file is ending early. It apparently finished rendering too early and we didn’t catch it. We are in the process of fixing it and once we do we’ll edit this post to let you know the fixed version is in place so you all can re-download it. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Charlie, Dylan, and John share their reactions to the news from E3.
In this episode about nothing in particular, a whole bunch of people (Chad, Charlie, Dylan, Geoffrey, Jen, John, and Kate) discuss Gary Coleman, CILFs, how much Prince of Persia is going to suck, Gemma Arterton, Jackie Chan, the term "toilet mounting hole," video game movies, the kitten who lived through a washing machine, EA charging for multiplayer games, and... a rarity in the world of Chainsaw Buffet, the elusive FAN MAIL.
Spike Spencer What’s this?! A bonus episode out of nowhere?! Say it ain’t so! You see, at MTAC Odyssey we teamed yup with the wonderful gentlemen of the Chainsaw Buffet podcast to interview Spike Spencer. Spike, has done many a role in anime and video games, but is most likely best known for doing the voice of Shinji from Neon Genesis Evangelion. And since the Chainsaw Buffet guys have already released their version of interview, we decided to use the magic of RSS feeds to let you in on the action! So if you notice the completely different opening song, that’s why.
Live from MTAC Odyssey, Chainsaw Buffet and the OSMCast! talk to Spike Spencer (Shinji Ikari in Evangelion) about voice acting, the anime industry, and cooking.
After a very long hiatus, the Chainsaw Buffet guys head to Anime Weekend Atlanta and get an interview with Lucas Leverett, the chairman for Middle Tennessee Anime convention. We discuss the state of the anime industry, what it takes to run a convention, and GMX--the Geek Media Expo that MTAC will be presenting the weekend of October 2-4 in Nashville.
Yes, it's late and the audio quality likely leaves something to be desired, but here it is: our episode recorded at Kajonk-A-Con 2008 in Knoxville, TN. We start out with our live podcast (where Chad drags in hapless congoers for witty repartee), and finish up with our interview with Damian Zannini, the organizer of KAC.
The crew plans out a cheesy home horror movie they're going to film the week before Halloween. "We typically don't script at all--we just do the general outline and ad lib." Mike's ninja movies. Bastardized Guitar Hero controllers. Voltron versus monster. Video podcasts? Scary Movie 4. More railing against Blue Dragon. Mana Energy Drink still tastes terrible.
On a special two-part episode of the Chainsaw Buffet Podcast, we travel to Anime Weekend Atlanta to talk with The Man Power (http://www.myspace.com/themanpower) and Simon Young of The Slants (http://www.theslants.com/) about their music, bands, and interests (including, of course, anime). Having seen their shows and met them at MTAC this year, there were already some big fans among the Chainsaw Buffet crew. Hailing from Nashville, the Man Power is anything but country. In fact, if you said that to their face, I'm pretty sure they'd melt your face off with their killer otaku-flavored rock stylings, and then blow your mind with their pandemonium-inducing performances on stage. Kneel before the awesomeness that is the Man Power!!
By Chad's Dylan's logic, we should shut down Chainsaw Buffet. Dylan breaks his caffeine fast. URNATION. Peelander Z coffee. Transformers Animated. Optimus Prime is not a firetruck nor is he a f**king gorilla. Warhawk: buy it for the Bluetooth headset. Burnout Paradise. EA, why do you love the terrorists? More Zune talk. Alestorm: pirate metal. Amazon MP3 rocks, iTunes sucks. The Christmas clock. Dylan sucks at the musical taste. Mike explains the stock market and economic crisis. Breast cancer awareness month. "I wish I had had a cool type of cancer--one that people like." The pink ribbon mafia. Should we do a cancer podcast? Pan's Labyrinth.
The Slants are an Oregon-based band whose genre-defying music combines high-energy beats with sophisticated lyrics. Combined with their killer, fire-breathing stage shows, they're an unstoppable force of the music scene.
