Stay Hungry é o 3º disco do grupo que apresentou aqui simplesmente dois clássicos absolutos do Rock "We're Not Gonna Take It" e "I Wanna Rock". On this week's show, Extremely Musical Friend of the Pod (EMFOP)‌ Chris Molanphy joins to memorialize pop's Renaissance Man, Quincy Jones, who passed away on November 3, 2024. The legendary producer worked with every star under the sun, including Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, and Chaka Khan, and created the best-selling album in history. (“Thriller,” maybe you've heard of it?) Then, the trio mulls over Conclave, a sumptuous new film by director Edward Berger (All Quiet on the Western Front) about what happens when the Pope dies. It's a fun, pulp-y romp, but does the movie have anything profound to say?‌ Finally, the panel considers Martha, a Netflix documentary about Martha Stewart's rise to fame – and confronts all of lifestyle guru's charms, mysteries, and borderline sociopathic tendencies. Albumet såldes i tre miljoner exemplar i USA. Låtarna "We're Not Gonna Take It" och "I Wanna Rock" blev två av gruppens mest kända och mest framgångsrika låtar. Alive at Reading innehåller tre livelåtar som spelades in under bandets framträdande på Reading Festival 1980. – The Live Anthology.

Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, we conclude Jesse's Musical Career Journey Series, with Full House S8E7: On The Road Again, which aired on November 8, 1994. In this episode when Danny finds out that D.J. is secretly dating the guitarist in Jesse's new band, Danny forbids her to continue. I was not a fan of this episode and really don't like the music that Jesse makes with his new band Hot Daddy and the Monkey Puppets. Not to mention the outfits or style he's going for with this new band is utterly atrocious. Absolutely can't stand Viper, he's wrong for DJ, and it's not just because he's not Steve. He seems so much older than DJ, I mean she's still in high school, even though Steve was in college when DJ and he broke up. He's too wild, and (spoiler alert) he actually breaks up with her when he feels things are going too fast for him. Jesse realizes his wild days are behind him when he takes Becky and the boys on a gig with him. He wants to relive his glory days (pre-Becky and the boys) days of rock n' roll that he had with the Rippers in 1987. He checks the band along with Becky and the boys into a grungy, moldy, outdated motel, that is so bad, it would make Norman Bates, inwardly cringe. Times have changed and so has he. He makes so many "I'm an old man" jokes, it gets old real quick. I'm like "dude, you're not even 30 yet", he complains more about his age in this episode than he does in Fuller House, claiming he's still got it, for someone in his 50's. Jesse and the band are in for a shock when he meets the owner of the club who is expecting Big Poppa and the Polka Puppies, not Hot Daddy and the Monkey Puppets. I couldn't help but picture golden retriever puppies dressed in lederhosen and barking in time to a polka song. Danny has a change of heart about Viper dating DJ when Viper steps up to help out Jesse (who fired him for dating DJ)when he is ordered to play polka music or vacate the venue. Turns out Viper was Tiny Hines in Big Hines and the Polka Dots as a kid. Jesse and the band don polka outfits and polka instruments and perform KISS's song "I Wanna Rock n' Roll All Night" Polka Style. Stephanie and Michelle try to figure out which of the Monkey Puppets that DJ is dating they see her talking to Mongo and assume she's with him. Umm, kids, Mongo is like 35 years old, that's gross. In fact that's just as or more so upsetting as her dating Viper. Mongo's like Danny's age. I hope you enjoy the podcast episode and have a great weekend! See you in August! I Am (I'm Me)". Las canciones de Twisted Sister "Under the Blade" y "We're Not Gonna Take It" fueron mencionadas específicamente en las convocatorias del Senado. A.J. En 2001, Koch Records lanzó un álbum tributo titulado "Twisted Forever|Twisted Forever - A Tribute To The Legendary Twisted Sister". Of Filth, Joan Jett, Sebastian Bach, and Hammerfall.

Twisted Sister special with Jay French in conversation with David Eastaugh - talking about his new book Twisted Business Twisted Sister was an American heavy metal band originally from Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, and later based on Long Island, New York. Their best-known songs include "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock". Twisted Sister evolved from a band named Silver Star, and experienced several membership changes before settling on a classic lineup consisting of Jay Jay French (guitars), Eddie "Fingers" Ojeda (guitars), Dee Snider (lead vocals), Mark "The Animal" Mendoza (bass), and A. J. Pero (drums) in 1982 which recorded four of the band's first five albums. Twisted Sister's first two albums, Under the Blade (1982) and You Can't Stop Rock 'n' Roll (1983), were critically well received and earned the band underground popularity. The band achieved mainstream success with their third album, Stay Hungry (1984), and its single "We're Not Gonna Take It", which was their only Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. Their next two albums, Come Out and Play (1985) and Love Is for Suckers (1987), did not match the success of Stay Hungry, and Twisted Sister disbanded in 1988.

Dee Snider, singer-songwriter, musician, radio personality and actor visited with WZOE’s Paul Bomleny recently. Snider, who came to prominence in the 1980s as lead singer of the heavy metal band Twister Sister, has a new holiday song out. He’s joined by Lzzy Hale of the band Halestorm on “The Magic of Christmas Day”.In the late 80s, the classically-trained musician wrote the song as a gift to his wife of nearly 40 years, Suzette. In the 90s, Celine Dion recorded the song and put it on what would become the biggest selling holiday album in history. Dee says between the coronavirus and politics, we all need a little inspiration so he decided to record the song for the first time this year.Dee wrote every Twisted Sister song, including the hits “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock”. He says his personal favorite is one of their early songs “You Can’t Stop Rock ‘n’ Roll” because it best captures the nature of the band.Snider also is directing a movie and working on a new album due out in 2021 and says you can look for him on the new season of the streaming TV series “Cobra Kai”.Dee’s official website is deesnider.com.

Dee Snider gets real about his ups and downs, starting over after being on top of the music industry. He is authentic and honest about what it was like losing it all and how he rose from the ashes! Twisted Sister is an American heavy metal band from New York City. Their work fuses the shock tactics of Alice Cooper, the rebellious mood of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, and the extravagant image of glam rock bands such as New York Dolls notably for the makeup. Musically, the band implements elements of traditional heavy metal bands such as Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, along with a style that is similar to early glam metal bands. The band is generally categorized as glam metal for their earlier work, although the band does not consider themselves to be so. Although the band was formed by guitarist Jay Jay French in December 1972, all of their songs were written by Dee Snider from 1976 onward. Snider remarked to Johnny Carson that the proposed name for the band was “This” but was rejected for fear of fans saying “This sucks”. He describes Twisted Sister as “Slade meets Sex Pistols”. Twisted Sister's most well-known hits include “We're Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock”, both popularized in the USA by regular airplay on MTV in the 1980s. Many of the band's songs explore themes of parent vs. child conflicts and criticisms of the educational system. “I don't think Twisted Sister is “glam” because that implies glamor, and we're not glamorous. We should be called “Hid” because we're hideous.” Dee Snider, ‘Interview with Twisted Sister' Picture disc. “When Twisted Sister exploded internationally few people realized that they were an overnight sensation that had been ten years in the making.” From the back cover blurb for “Twisted Sister – The First Official Book! Unreleased 1990 studio album by this hard rock/metal supergroup featuring Dee Snider (Twisted Sister), Clive Burr (Iron Maiden), Bernie Torme (Gillan/Ozzy) and Marc Russell. This band was poised for success until the Grunge scene came along and their label decided not to release it due to the changing musical climate. 11 tracks including ‘Hang ‘Em High', ‘Calling For You' and ‘Emaheevull'. Of all the projects Dee Snider has been involved in over the years, the one shrouded in the most mystery was undoubtedly Desperado. First mentioned in heavy metal magazines circa the late '80s, the group appeared to be a promising proposition, as it saw Snider team up with a pair of gentlemen renowned in the metal community — ex-Ian Gillan and Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Bernie Tormé and ex-Iron Maiden drummer Clive Burr — with bassist Marc Russell rounding out the quartet. The group had an album ready and raring to go (going as far as having a release date set for May of 1990, and an album title of Bloodied, But Unbowed), but at the 11th hour, the debut was shelved, and the group soon after went the way of the dodo. The album, now under its original title, Ace, has finally seen the light of day 16 years later via the Deadline/Cleopatra label. Upon hearing the music, it quickly becomes apparent that Snider made a conscious effort to eschew the anthemic rock of Twisted Sister in favor of more straight-ahead metal, as evidenced by such tracks as “Gone Bad” and “The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter.” But it appears that Ace would have fit in more with the metal landscape a few years earlier than its projected original release date (an era that saw metal's old guard quickly losing their standing to such bands as Jane's Addiction, Soundgarden, and Faith No More, with Nirvana waiting on deck). Regardless, the music on Ace is just as worthy as the majority of stuff that was being spun on Headbangers Ball and featured in Rip magazine from around that time. In 1991. Dee fights back by forming his most brutal band yet, Widowmaker. Along with Desperado bassist Mark Russel, Dee enlisted the sonic battle-skills of guitar maestro Al Pitrelli (formerly with Alice Cooper) and drummer Joey Franco (who played on Twisted's last album). With mainstream gone “alternative,” Widowmaker has kept to the independent route to avoid being forced to compromise their artistic vision. Even with poor distribution and virtually no promotion or air-play, they've still forged out a dedicated fan-base of modern rockers. We wanna ROCK!
