How we doing folks? Good? Alrighty then! This week we're diving into a surprisingly sincere film called Doing Time on Maple Drive where Jim Carrey puts on a piss poor performance as an alcoholic. With some standout performances from obscure character actors, this was a much more enjoyable time than expected. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
So you've made a plan. You've separated your Decision Time from your Doing Time, to save yourself some precious energy. (See Episode #96!) But now the moment has arrived and all your brain minions are yelling I don't wanna! What do you do? Today's episode breaks down FOUR killer tactics to deal with resistance in follow-through. We cover: How to establish a new set of Life Rules that doesn't require "all or nothing" for you to get stuff done Why you should plan on not wanting to do stuff (instead of keep beating yourself up for it) The difference between "reacting" vs "responding" to resistance (that's also the difference between "avoiding/procrastinating" and "making a conscious decision") How to get to all that Important, Non-Urgent Stuff you keep putting off The value of declaring the stakes of WHAT you do and HOW you do it My favorite trick for getting myself to do things I don't wanna (but really DO wanna) A random personal story where I tell a Starbucks Barista I'm not weird (it's unrelated, but we go there) Links! DOING TIME - ep 24 - THE HARDER SHAFT PODCAST - JOEY BUSUTTIL. & MARK FINDLAYImprisonment can hugely affect the thinking and behavior of a person and cause severe levels of depression. However, the psychological impact on each prisoner varies with the time, situation, and place. For some, the prison experience can be a frightening and depressing one, which takes many years to overcome.Prisons are inherently traumatic places that dehumanize people in the name of security and control. Incarcerated people navigate constant surveillance, social isolation, limited personal care services, ongoing harassment, and threats of violence and abuse.Depression was the most prevalent mental health condition reported by inmates, followed by mania, anxiety, and posttraumatic stress disorder.Incarcerated people have virtually no control over their day-to-day lives, including when they wake up, what they eat, what their jobs are, and when they have access to recreation. This can lead to feelings of dependence and helplessness.Prison sexuality (or prison sex or penitentiary sex) consists of sexual relationships between prisoners or between a prisoner and a prison employee or other persons to whom prisoners have access. Since prisons are usually separated by sex, most sexual activity is with a same-sex partner. Two well known exceptions to this include sex with spouses/partners during conjugal visits and sex with a prison employee of the opposite sex.Prison sexuality is an issue that has been commonly misunderstood and misrepresented due not only to the taboo nature of the subject, but also because of a lack of research. The most common kind of sexual activity in prisons is consensual sex.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------HOST:Joe BusuttilMENS LIFE COACH/ COUNSELLORhardershaftpodcast@gmail.comhttps://www.equator-hypnotherapymelbourne.comINSTAGRAM:@the_shaft_experienceFACEBOOK:SECRET MENS BUSINESS - the HARDER SHAFThttps://www.facebook.com/groups/secretmensbusiness01/YOUTUBE:Secret MENS Business - the HARDER Shafthttps://www.youtube.com/c/SecretMENSBusinessSMBTV

On the 32nd Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & Sonny review "Hail To The King" the platinum album by Avenged Sevenfold. Hail To The King was Avenged Sevenfold's sixth studio album. The album was produced by Grammy award winning producer, Mike Elizondo. Hail To The King reached number one on the Billboard chart, just as the previous album, Nightmare did in 2010. The band went to a more straight hard rock/metal sound and away from their metalcore beginnings. The album boasts the incredible vocals by M. Shadows who really shines on this album. Guitarist Synyster Gates riffs and solos give this album a real kick. Zachy Vengeance guitar work compliments Gates. Bassist Johnny Christ and new drummer, Arin Ilejay, who replaced late drummer Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, round out the band. As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the cover against the previous 30 albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew. So come find out if FISTS COLLIDE when ARC takes a rare dive into an album past the 1990's! It is safe to say the word ‘surrender' can carry a few negative connotations with its meaning; thoughts like defeat, failure, or giving up. People often believe that surrendering is something that we need to force ourselves to do. This is false. Being able to surrender means being able to let go and allow! How does surrendering look in your life? Are there areas of your career, relationships, or personal growth that you are always trying to control? There is an aspect of pride we all must overcome in order to successfully surrender each day. Recognizing this is the first step. In this podcast, we talk about different areas that are difficult to fully surrender in. Experiencing the power of letting go can be very restoring in your life. Be challenged to find the areas of your life that need surrendering. We hope you enjoy!
