On this episode the boys are joined by Stanley cup champion and FUTURE hall of famer (in our opinion) Steve Larmer. After getting taken in the 6th round of the 1980 NHL draft, the long time Chicago Blackhawk would go on to win rookie of the year and play over 1000 games, and finish 6 points over a point per game. He talks to us about guys smoking cigs while playing, how competitive Ed Belfour was, how he was almost traded for Big Eric Lindros and much more. Before the interview the boys get into the Columbus regime change, Auston Matthews having a shot at 70 goals, and the Penguins absolutely killing it with the Jagr jersey retirement. On Tuesday morning it was announced that Ed Belfour and Ken Hitchcock will be inducted to the Dallas Stars Hall of Fame. Belfour is the greatest goalie the Dallas Stars franchise has ever seen. He was a huge reason why the Stars won the Stanley Cup in 1999. Not to be forgotten, Hitchcock is the only Stars head coach to ever win a Stanley Cup, and his leadership of the Stars specifically from 1997-2001 was iconic. This week for our 25th episode John welcomes NHL legend Jeremy Roenick to the show to discuss his iconic career, the many evolutions in the sport of hockey, and his outspoken position on everything from NHL refs, the toxicity of social media, and the challenges and rewards that come with entrepreneurship and investing. Jeremy Roenick is a former professional hockey player who played the majority of his career in Chicago alongside fellow legends Chris Chelios and Ed Belfour. He was drafted 8th overall in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft by the Blackhawks, for whom he played from 1988 to 1996. Roenick subsequently played for the Phoenix Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks over the course of his 20 year career. He also represented Team USA in several international tournaments including The Olympic Games. On November 10, 2007, Jeremy became only the third American-born player to score 500 goals. After retiring in 2009, Roenick joined NBC Sports as a hockey analyst and in 2010 began his path towards furthering his entrepreneurial goals. This was a wide ranging chat that includes exploring Jeremy's many experiences both on and off the ice. We dive into everything from broadcasting, entrepreneurship, and real estate investment. Jeremy reflects on the challenges that came with being drafted at the age of 18, his infamous Blackhawks trade, and his true thoughts about that controversial decision that led him to Phoenix, Philadelphia, LA, and eventually San Jose. In addition, John talks with Jeremy about his experiences at NBC and how ultimately… “the media created a Jeremy Roenick that really does not exist.” Listeners will also hear about Jeremy's newest entrepreneurial journey, co-founding Whiskey in the Wild, a high-end, triple distilled, blended chocolate whiskey that aims to appeal to a diverse audience of spirit lovers who may not think of whiskey as their drink of choice. Jeremy breaks down the company's love for their creation, insistence on quality, and shares their vision for providing a deliciously drinkable whiskey that is not your grandpa's jet fuel. Topics Include: Jeremy's Favorite Cities To Play In Being Drafted at 18 Years Old Hockey's Safety Evolutions Jeremy's Infamous Blackhawks Trade Jeremy's Olympic Experience Jeremy Comments on Parting Ways with NBC The Story Behind Whiskey in the Wild Jeremy's Advice For Entrepreneurs Jeremy Roenick's Movie Recommendations Follow Jeremy: Twitter: https://twitter.com/Jeremy_Roenick Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jeremyroenick/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jeremyroenick Book: https://www.amazon.com/J-R-Outspoken-Fearless-Hard-Hitting-Hockey Whiskey in the Wild Website: https://whiskeyinthewild.com/ Follow John: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/johncerasani TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@johncerasani LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/johncerasani For More Info on John's Book: https://2000percentraise.com/ More 2000 Percent Raise Episodes and Content: https://linktr.ee/2000percentraise Produced by: https://socialchameleon.us

We kick off the hour with Damien Cox who looks at the Leafs goalies and how historically (prior to Matt Murray) it's been a long time since they had a Cup winning goalie (Ed Belfour 2002-06) Then how last year Darcy Kuemper changed the game by proving you can win a Stanley Cup without a Vezina winner. Then a discussion about The Northern Star Award, how the Davis Cup win plays a factor and who else had the best performance by any Canadian athlete. Finally, Ross Tucker on Week 13 in the NFL, why the Jets might be a dangerous team even without a terrific QB and then Russel Wilson's challenging season now includes only half his team attending his birthday party and what that says about him and his reputation - or - has this become out of control with picking on he Broncos QB.The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliate.

This week, we head under the mask, with a hockey goalie, who is a perfectionist, a hall of famer, and a huge drunk, who causes problems at hotels, and seems very willing to fight police officers. And his latest arrest was caught on video, and it's as embarrassing as it gets! All of this, while owning a company that makes whiskey! Today I am joined by NHL Hall of Fame goalie, Ed Belfour, and his son Dayn Belfour. Ed and Dayn are making incredible whiskey at Belfour Spirits, and our conversation was absolutely wonderful. I was so excited to have them on with me, and their kindness and generosity was unreal. Their humility and excitement for making good whiskey made me an instant fan. This is a great conversation for people who are interested in hockey, whiskey, or life after sports. Most athletes don't ever reach the level that Ed reached in his Hall of Fame career, so to hear about a player of his status grinding away at a new venture in life is inspiring. Enjoy this one. Episode 24 of Tendy Talk was a special one for me. When I started the podcast I told my wife that maybe I'd be lucky enough to have my childhood idol Ed Belfour on as a guest. Well, not only was I able to have Ed on Tendy Talk as a guest, but his son Dayn who is also a goalie joined us as we talked about how they wound up between the pipes, tinkering with equipment and their whisky business Belfour Spirits. If they sell Belfour Spirits whisky in your neck of the woods, pour yourself a glass, and enjoy the episode. Special thanks to Belfour Spirits Chief Marketing Officer Elizabeth Cornelius for helping coordinate schedules.
