Happily Married, #1 Bestselling Author, Global Entrepreneur and founder of the Marriage of Greatness movement. “Many men can make a fortune, very few can build a family.” It's all about taking ACTION! Quote#1 So when you got a V H S camcorder, that's our little tool to film shorts and there's no video editing like nowadays, right? You can do it on your phone. You got all, I mean, just the whole, you and I understand what it used to take to create content. Quote#2 There's gotta be a way to do this. And so I stood up and said, I'm gonna make a documentary and the next day in the shower, and here's a lesson for the people in the shower. If you ever notice, uh, most people get great ideas in the shower. Yes, probably cuz their phone's not in there with them. Yeah. Uh, hint And most people sadly leave their great ideas in the shower. Quote#3 And so God gave me the vision, words of art. So I'm like, okay, let's look at words as an art form. And so that's where I started and I made an intention, got up off the couch and wouldn't you know, James, the next weekend I'm at an event. And it's one of these personal growth events. They got, you know, big names on the stage and then they have the sponsor, you know, ally, right, where everyone's got their booths. Prehab instead of Rehab! Body Dysmorphia, and how Evan recognizes it and deals with it. Course correcting is how our journey in life goes. “My bride and I both come from normal dysfunctional families, raise your hand if you can relate” : ) When we first got married our starry eyed quest was to live happily ever after and bring each others dreams to life. The challenge was, we had no money, like an old cell phone battery we were always in the red. My bride had a low paying high stress job and I had a struggling business. We drove junky cars and lived in a postage stamp sized rental house. On top of that, I had major sexual baggage from a dark past that I'm still unpacking today. In-spite of all this we decided to have faith and dream big, we set a goal to get remarried in a different state or country every year. With lot's of prayer, action and creativity, we have been married over 20 times and yes we have had more than 20 honeymoons! Our story has been featured in media outlets around the world, but this is just the beginning of our story… More Cool Evan Money Quotes: “The grass is always greener where you water it” “Ok, so if you want to make a personal growth documentary, here is the guy” “Why is this taking so long, that's what every film maker says about every film project” www.evanmoney.com marriageofgreatness.com IGWT4me.com Featured song for this episode is “Ride On”, check it out on Spotify here https://open.spotify.com/track/5VQzjlHv7qZzyZIOSGkhjU?si=eb0d5a683f2e43d8 Coaching link is here, join me for a no-obligation discovery session www.calendly.com/dharmic For a custom-branded song you can reach James at james@thejamesoconnoragency.com

Even superheroes fall, get wounded and feel pain. What makes them “super” is their ability to rise after each fall and fight again. Society looks up to dads like they're superheroes in their own ways. What's concerning is the expectation that comes with it. It's as if they're supposed to not know pain nor allowed to break down and get emotional. This has been ingrained in them since they were kids that even crying brings shame. Aren't dads humans too? Evan Money's back with more insights for men who are committed to eliminating the pain in their lives so they can cultivate healthier relationships. The word to ponder on is “processing”. Before you can process your pain, you need to acknowledge that it exists. Only then can you determine the cause and deal with it, head-on. Because a great dad is a dad who is human enough to feel pain, brave enough to acknowledge it, and smart enough to process it before it turns into a monster that eats you up and ruins your life.“Pain is the effect of men that don't process. Getting married is simple, but maintaining the integrity of marriage is more complicated. How can someone stay in love with their better half while divorce rates are at an all-time high? Do couples have a chance with all the obstacles that married life throws at them? Join Evan Money as he gives some of his best advice for reclaiming control of your marriage and reviving your relationship for a happy married life. Standout Quotes: “I didn't know there was anything else. Growing up in my 20s and 30s was life sucks. And then you die. That was kind of the thing and, I was like, I'm not buying into that. I'm not doing that.” [Evan] “What I thought was a burden, what I thought what was wrong with me was a gift, and that's being a visionary.” [Evan] “It's not about the destination. And it's not about the details. But really, it's about the dedication and the devotion that we have to each other.” [Evan] “It's such a paradigm shift for women because once you get past this first one, then it's like, oh, there are zero rules. And so the creatives, the artsy, the creative people latch on to this.” [Evan] Key Takeaways: This cycle of pain and difficulty can end now. It is feasible. Evan comes from a regular chaotic family. So they both come from complex households. Evan saw three options in relationships: married and miserable (his parents and even TV shows exemplified this). Then you met other married men who only talked about their miserable lives. Divorce and misery go hand in hand. Evan and his wife both walked out with a spear in hand, looking for their happily ever after. People teased them when they discovered they watched too many Disney movies, but they persisted. They know what's out there, and they're dead set on finding it. They discovered that happily ever after wasn't a place to be found. Instead, it was a place he and his wife built together via their deeds and attitudes. Evan and Susan hired friends to officiate their weddings because it builds a special bond between the couple and their friend. It strengthens the bonds between friends. These friends also give them advice on wedding vows, and Evan felt more convicted after reading the prepared commitment. Meet Nicole Over the past 30 years, Nicole has empowered 1000s of business owners and entrepreneurs to play to their strengths, grow their business, and make a greater impact. As a coach and strategic advisor, she is passionate about helping leaders shift their perspectives and solve complex business and relational issues with the aim of creating a better world for everyone. She is the founder of Discover The Edge and The Leaders of Transformation Podcast, reaching listeners in 140 countries. What are the fundamental steps to creating transformation in our business and relationships? I think it all starts with self-awareness and being present with yourself and others. Too often, we are so worried about what we're going to say and how we're going to say it, and what we look like, and all of that we lose connection with the person we're actually seeking to connect with. That's why self-awareness is really important. Presence with yourself and knowing how you're showing up and knowing also then recognizing what's going on for the other person. That's number one, number two, I would say is choosing to care. Having a real sincere interest, and empathy, and just an interest in what is going on with the other person. I think especially nowadays, we need to encourage each other because we don't know what people are going through. To have that spirit of encouragement for other people is really important. The third thing is follow-through. Do what you say, have integrity. If you're not going to do something, don't say you're going to do it. That goes for also saying things like "Oh, yeah, let's do lunch," when you know, in your mind, you're not ever planning to do that, well, then don't say it. Because what it does is number one, it breaks trust with them, because they actually might think that you're going to follow through on that and you don't. But even more importantly, it comes back to yourself, how do you feel about yourself. If I'm constantly saying things and not doing it, even if the other people don't, nobody else knows, I know. So it's really important in creating the transformation that we're looking to create that we have some foundational pieces in place. That applies to business, applies to relationships because of course, every business is a people business. Can you talk about how we tailor communication and networking styles to match the different personality types that are out there? It really comes down to going into the other person's world first. So often, we operate from our point of view, and you got to realize in order to connect and relate to different personality types, you have to understand how they receive information because communication is the response you get. Predominantly, I use the disc model of human behavior. That really describes the 4 primary personality types and there's Myers Briggs and all these different ones that you can use. I'll just give you a quick run through it. What's really cool about this tool is that you don't have an opportunity to meeting somebody new, you don't have an opportunity to have them do a full assessment, Myers Briggs to figure out what they are so that you know how to relate to them, you've got to have a way to connect quickly. So there are two questions you can ask yourself: Is this person more outgoing or more reserved? The second question is, are they more task-oriented, or people-oriented? You can get a sense of where they are operating, at least in the moment by answering those questions. So the outgoing task-oriented personality is the D personality and they are dominant. They like to get to the point, lead, and be in charge, they like results and they want to know what are we doing, where are we going, what are we going to make happen. The I personality, which is outgoing and people-oriented are the inspiring type. They like to have fun, and they like to express themselves, they like recognition, they're motivated by recognition, and they want to know who else is doing it. Who else is buying your product, who else is going to that event? The reserved and people-oriented personality is the S, the supportive type. They like to listen, they're people-oriented, but rather than the inspiring type that likes to talk, they like to listen, and they want to get to know you as a person, and they are motivated by harmony and how will this bring harmony? How will this help us work better together? Then the reserved and task-oriented personality, which is the cautious type, they like to learn, they like to be correct, they'll like process and procedure and bring value through details and they like quality. They believe that there's a right way to do things that are wrong ways to do things. So when we understand that there are four different ways to communicate or four different personality types, and of course, there are infinite combinations of all of that, we're all a blend of all four, when you understand that, you can start to relate to people more effectively. Then you can also understand how they make decisions. So a D personality, for example, will decide quickly, an I will decide emotionally, an S will decide slowly, the C will decide carefully. In fact, the C personality type is really the only personality type that really when they say let me think about it, they actually mean, let me think about it. A D will tell you no, generally speaking right off the bat, or they'll say yeah, and then they just want you to go away. The I of course, and the S, are more people-oriented and so forth. So when they say I'll think about it, it really means I don't want to hurt your feelings, I want you to like me, I want you to know that you're cared for and valued as an S personality type will think that. So if you understand how people are thinking and how it's translating on there, and you can go a long way in creating better communication and networking more effectively with other people. What can we learn about building trust and value from some of our greatest leaders in history? There are so many great leaders in history and as much as I talk a lot about a leadership crisis. Now, we also do have great leaders in this day and age as well. Some of my favorites are people like Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, Mother Teresa, Abraham Lincoln, Jesus, Solomon, in the Bible, Moses. One of the things that when you look at it as it relates to what we're talking about here, which is social capital, building relationships, and what I wanted to point out was, how they related to others, and especially those who are against them. One of the things that they were definitely practicing is presence. They sought wisdom and understanding that we've also talked about, they realize the value of understanding people skills. Every business is a people business, life is full of relationships, you can't actually have success without other people being involved. Ultimately, life is all about relationships and they understand that and so they learn to develop those skills. Some of them weren't very good in the beginning, and they learned them over time. The other thing is empathy. They had a lot of empathy for people, and like I say, even those that were against them, and I think about Abraham Lincoln, he had one of a general in his army that he disliked and he said, "I don't like this person, I need to get to know them better." It's hard to not like somebody that is up close and that you get to know you start to realize how much commonality that you have. Patience is another thing is. We can learn patience from them. Gandhi was patient even with some of his own followers, who wanted to go off and get violent. I think of Nelson Mandela, 27 years in prison and coming out, and everybody thought that there's going to be hell to pay when he gets out. He came out and said, "No, that's not the way to lead, that's not the way to create reconciliation." Perseverance is another one and I think one of the most important things, especially nowadays is demonstrating responsibility. Our responsibility for communication, our responsibility to lead, and recognize that when we're talking about building trust and value these are the things that people need. I had a guest on my podcast recently, who talked about how you build trust, the speed of trust in businesses and he said that you build trust through predictability. So people know what to expect from you, they know that you're going to act a certain way. If you're unpredictable then it's hard for them to build trust with you. Building value is when you build value for others, you are, it's when you're going into the world, you're getting to know what's important to them and not just from an angle of what can I get. All of these leaders that I just described had outcomes, but they came from a perspective of what can I give, how can I support and encourage and see the best in other people, and as a result of that if you help enough people get what they want, you'll get what you want. Can you share with our listeners one of your most successful or favorite networking experiences that you've had? So I've done a lot of networking. I started out my business when I was in my teens and I knew I wanted to be in business for myself. I didn't know what I wanted to do, or what it would all look like, but I just knew that I want to be in business for myself and I started selling things door to door. I went quickly from door to door to cold calling because it was more efficient. Then I discovered networking events and it was so cool because all of these people are were in one place and I could talk to them, and they were not doing their work so they would have time to talk. There are some fun examples of going into networking events and meeting people that were game-changers, or that led to another person. I'm from Toronto and I was going to a networking event. It was raining, and I was tired, it was almost nine o'clock and I thought I am done. So I left and then I realized I forgot my business cards because back in the day, you could put your business cards on this table and so I ran back to get my business card because if I value my business and I value my business cards, I'm not going to let them just be going to waste. So I go back to get them and on the way out the door the second time, I ran into a lady. Her name was Susan and we were both kind of half running to the car cars in the rain, but she introduced herself to me and asked what I do. I said that I was a business coach and she actually said that she was in need of one! We exchanged our contact information and one thing led to another she ended up becoming a client, she also introduced me to someone else, his name was Mike. Mike introduced me to and convinced me to go to BNI which I was not interested in doing at that point and to his chapter. From there I've met so many clients and people that I've mentored and it was such an incredible opportunity but it was being present to what's going on and taking the moment even though we were getting wet to take that moment and meet Susan and that was such a blessing. The second one was down here in California and I was living in LA and I got this message from someone on LinkedIn that I did not know who said that there was a seminar coming up and this guy is going to be speaking and he's super awesome. Normally, you get so many of those you ignore it, but this one something told me to go and so I went and it was Evan Money speaking, which is his real name by the way. I went, had a great time, followed up with him afterward, we got to know each other and he became a good friend. He's introduced me to several amazing people who have become some great friends of mine. I've introduced him to people, I've had him on my podcast a couple of times. He met some of the people and I referred him and he's gone and done business deals and events and masterminds with some of the people that he's met. It was such an incredible opportunity, but it started with me just listening. That person on LinkedIn, I never heard from them or spoke to them again. They were the messenger and that was it, but somehow something said, go to this event. What advice would you offer the business professional who's looking to grow their network? I would say there are three things. You need visibility, credibility, and consistency. So, visibility, you've got to establish your presence, you've can establish your online presence. You have a podcast, this gives you a lot of visibility, this also gives you credibility and consistency is that you don't just go and do a whole bunch of anything, and then stop. So it's having the visibility, making sure that people know you exist, because if people don't know you, how can they possibly hire you? How can they possibly even just get to know you and build a friendship or relationship with you, if they don't know you exist? So first of all, it's important to have that visibility. So maybe you start a podcast, maybe you guest on other podcasts, maybe you go online, and you reach out to other people, comment on other people's posts, and genuinely, not just to try to sell them something, but literally go into their world get interested in them. Your credibility is whatever your space is, what your passion is. As so you start to establish your credibility that way, establish it in a way where you're showing your value to others. I believe that every single person has value to bring and has value and a purpose to be here. Because I believe that God is a God of order and he's got an order, and it got a purpose. So if you're here, listening to this message, you have a purpose, and you have value. So it's finding out what that is and share it and you'll make the world a better place when you do. If you could go back to your 20-year-old self, what would you tell yourself to do more or less of or differently with regards to your professional career? Take bigger risks. I fail forward faster. I wouldn't try to do it the right way. I think of Gary Vee, he encourages young people all the time, right? It's like just screw up, make mistakes, try things, see what you like, see what you don't like. That's the first thing and the second thing is to find a mentor and a coach, somebody to help you along the way that has been where you want to go and can give you perspective to save yourself a lot of time. Back then, there weren't mentors and coaches as accessible and as in the volume that there are now. So I always want a mentor I wanted somebody to just tell me what to do. I had to figure it out on my own and it took a lot longer to do it that way. When you find a mentor and a coach and that's what I get to now share with others what I've learned to save them a whole lot of trouble. I can share with you what you can do to compress that time. Is it still going to be an effort? Are you still going to need to go through trial and error and fail forward fast? Yes, you will. We can compress that time and you can learn from my experience or your experience or somebody else's experience with a mentor. Do you have any final words of advice to offer our listeners with regards to growing and supporting your network? First of all, I'll say believe that you're enough. Believe that you're enough when you're going to know that you have value and believing that what you have to offer is valuable and who you are. I would encourage that because then when you're not so worried about your own enoughness, you can actually be with the other person and really hear what's going on. The other thing is from a practical standpoint, I've had people ask me and say how can you get so many referrals and I used to say that the very best way to get referrals is to give them. Don't just give them with the goal of getting something back. I would encourage people to give what they want to receive more back from. Today's Big Time Talker Podcast guest Evan Money tells it like it is: "My bride and I both come from normal dysfunctional families, raise your hand if you can relate : ) When we first got married our starry-eyed quest was to live happily ever after and bring each other's dreams to life. The challenge was, we had no money, like an old cell phone battery we were always in the red. My bride had a low paying high stress job and I had a struggling business. We drove junky cars and lived in a postage-stamp-sized rental house. On top of that, I had major sexual baggage from a dark past that I’m still unpacking today." And...that's just his way of saying hello! In spite of all this Evan decided to have faith and dream big, and set a goal to get remarried in a different state or country every year. With lots of prayer, action, and creativity, they have been married over 27 times and counting, and yes they have had more than 27 honeymoons! Their story has been featured in media outlets around the world, and today Evan checks in with us to give us some tips on how to keep things going strong on the home front even during COVID. His enthusiasm is infectious; what a great guest for the show! Meet the Guy Who Has Been Married 24 times! Having a Marriage of Greatness and Living Life to the Full Show Guest: Evan Money, PhD “Many men can make a fortune, very few can build a family” as William Jennings Brian says and Evan & his bride whole heartily agree. Both being born and raised in Southern California they only saw three options as a married couple, you could be Married and Miserable, Divorced and Desperate or Single and Cynical. The moment they were married, Evan & Susan Money committed to creating a marriage of greatness and living happily ever after. They discovered along their journey of extreme financial lows, non-understanding parents and building business from the ground up, that living happily ever after wasn’t a place to be discovered, rather it was a place they created. Evan Money shares how having a Marriage of Greatness is the foundation for true success in all the other areas of life. Greatness is often equated with athletics, business and financial success. Yet the greatest success and legacy we can leave is our heath and relationships.

Dave Lukas, The Misfit Entrepreneur_Breakthrough Entrepreneurship
Hello Misfit Nation! Welcome to another edition of "Lessons for Hannah!" In November of 2016, we introduced a new format that we are putting alongside our regular episodes called “Lessons for Hannah.” Hannah is my daughter and one of the main inspirations for the Misfit Entrepreneur. I wanted to have a place where she could go and learn from her daddy and his Misfit friends throughout her life….even after I am gone. If you haven’t listened to the first episode of "Lessons for Hannah," I urge you to as it gives some more background and tells the amazing story of how Hannah came to be in our lives. "Lessons for Hannah" are short, very useful, and sometimes comical lessons, that I have learned which I want to share with you and give to Hannah to help in your lives. Because I want Hannah to have these for her life, I’m going to speak as though I am talking directly to her. These episodes are a lot of fun and if you think there is a lesson that we should include in these episodes, please don’t hesitate to send it over to us at support@misfitentrepreneur.com. We’d love to share it. This week’s Lesson for Hannah Hannah, I recently hosted our 3rd annual Grow Thrive Revive event with my business partner in the venture, Evan Money. Yes, that is his real name. Each time we do the event, it gets better and stronger. It is a unique event in that we keep it small – 15 to 20 people. Our goal is to not only provide an amazing experience, but to really focus with our guests to help them have real breakthroughs both personally and professionally and get the tools they need to double their business or more over the next year. It is always interesting as people are not sure what to expect when they come in and then we start teaching and doing our focused sessions, and at some point it clicks for each attendee. One of the best parts of the event – and where we see some of biggest breakthroughs, is when Evan takes everyone through an exercise in ROF. The Return on Forgiveness. Think about that for a second, the Return on Forgiveness. In fact, Evan will tell you that the best return you will ever get is the return on forgiveness. But, what does that mean? It means that the more you forgive in your life, the bigger benefits you will get. How does that work? Well, a lot of us carry around some very heavy burdens and loads in our lives due to anger, resentment, and apathy to negative events or those that have wronged us in the past. These burdens weigh us down, eat at us, and act like a dead weight holding us back. They occupy our thoughts and keep us from thinking about the more important things in life – like what we need to be doing to find higher levels of success and deeper relationships with the ones we care about. And don’t get me wrong, most of the time, people have every right to feel this way. In fact, many people, including our guests at Grow Thrive Revive, have been through some really bad times which I won’t go into detail on. But, if or when they ever get to a point where they can truly forgive those for their wrongdoings – the results are incredible. It is like the giant albatross is lifted from their back. They see life differently. They shake off the things that have held them back. They leave their old self behind and almost renewed in a lot of ways. There are so many stories of this. One that Evan tells is about a young man living in the inner city, who was abused by his father. The young boy named Emmitt was very good at writing. So good, that his friends told him he should put on a play. So, he did. He failed. In fact, he failed several times over and over. All the while, he carried this major anger toward his father. It ate at him almost daily. He got to a point where was ready to give up. But, before he did, he decided he would do one last show and that before he did it, he would just forgive his dad. He did it for himself. He just wasn’t going to carry the burden any longer. After he did so, he had an inspiration and re-wrote the whole show. It was a success. In fact, over the next year, his income went up over 1000% and he had successful show after successful show on his way to bigger stardom. And he credits the thing that changed…that made the real difference was when he finally forgave his father. Who is Emmit? His full name is Emmit Perry Jr. You know him as Tyler Perry, one of the most successful directors, producers, and actors of our time. Imagine that. Just by forgiving someone, a whole life can change. Yours will too if you practice Return on Forgiveness in your life. In fact, sometimes the biggest return on forgiveness is when you forgive yourself. It may not always be outside influences that affect us – but a guilt or burden that we carry from our own actions that eats at us and weighs us down. At some point, you have to come to terms with it. At some point, you must not push it aside any further and confront it head on in your life. I know, because the person I had to forgive in my life years ago was me. I carried some guilt and regret from actions in my past that I kept buried. They made me feel like an impostor at times, a fake. But, it was all in my head the whole time. Finally, I had a enough and had two choices. I could let these things continue to pull me down and let them win, or I could shed them and move on. I chose the latter. I truly forgave myself. I wrote a letter to myself forgiving me for those few things out of an otherwise incredible life that I had done and that were holding me back. As soon as I finished the letter, I instantly felt different. I felt better. I felt like I could see things more clearly and I felt a new level of energy. Hannah, and for those of you listening, forgiveness is the answer to many of the biggest issues we have in our lives. Write a letter to those you want to forgive. Drop the dead weight and the negative feelings that are holding you back. And remember, the person that you may need to forgive the most in your life, is yourself. Resolve to practice forgiveness and learn the true power that it holds for you and watch the difference in makes in all areas in your life. Hannah, I promise that if you make it habit to forgive, it will be one of the greatest things you can do to live at your true potential. I love you, Daddy Best Quote: Resolve to practice forgiveness and learn the true power that it holds for you and watch the difference in makes in all areas in your life. Misfit 3: The best return you will ever get is the return on forgiveness. Write a letter to those you want to forgive. Drop the dead weight and the negative feelings that are holding you back. Sometimes the biggest return on forgiveness is when you forgive yourself.

Dave Lukas, The Misfit Entrepreneur_Breakthrough Entrepreneurship
Misfit Nation! Welcome to the 100th episode of the Misfit Entrepreneur! You know, when I started this little experiment as a way to leave behind the best wisdom on success and life that I could find and give for my daughter, Hannah – I had no idea that this show would grow the way it has and have the following and impact it has had around the world. I am so humbled and honored to be doing this with you. This show is as much mine as it yours as it could not and would not be where it is without you, our loyal listeners in Misfit Nation. From the bottom of my heart – thank you, thank you, thank you for your support of the show. And we are just getting started. We have much more to come for you over the next 100 episodes both in the guests that we are bringing you and other unique opportunities such as the Grow Thrive Revive Retreat. It is not a coincidence that we are at this point together. I truly believe we are meant to be on this journey with each other and accomplish amazing things. And you better believe that I will do everything I can to bring you the best information, advice, and actionable success strategies to help you do so. I’ve spent an enormous amount of time going through our first 100 episodes to find what I consider to be the Top 10 Most Important lessons that they have given us and I want to share them with you. I have also put them into a FREE guide with text from the episode for each lesson with some action steps on how you can incorporate them into your life and business. You can get it at www.MisfitEntrepreneur/Lessons The Top 10 Lessons from 100 Episodes of Misfit Entrepreneurs to Help You Breakthrough to You Highest Potential... Lesson #1 They practice the DCP Formula and use it through the life and businesses. DCP stands for Discipline, Consistency, and Persistence. I go in depth on this formula in the episode as well as the Top 10 Lessons Guide. Lesson #2 The highly successful don't do one thing exponentially better than others. They do a lot of things, sometimes very small things, just a little bit better or slightly differently and doing all of them a little better adds up to a huge advantage. I highlight some examples of these things as I discuss this lesson in the episode. Lesson #3 They have a keen understanding of self and their conditioning and have learned to have control over their thoughts and how they react to the different circumstances in their lives. To me, this realization or understanding is ultimate in personal power and allows people to live from true choice instead of being run by other people's ideas and what they've been told they should do. You must learn to choose your thoughts and what you allow your mind actions to do. Lesson #4 High performing Misfit Entrepreneurs go through a process of transformation. The learn, as my good friend and business partner in our life-changing bi-annual event, Grow Thrive Revive, Evan Money, puts it and talked about in Episode 59 – they learn the power of the return on forgiveness. Sometimes it is forgiving themselves while other times it is forgiving others for the wrongs that they have done to them. Whatever these things are, for many people, they hold them back and once the truly forgive, they remove a tremendous weight from their shoulders and can move forward in their pursuits to greatness. Lesson #5 This one should come as no surprise - they have a strong "why" that they anchor to. This why is their driver and the thing they rely on to keep them going when things are tough. It is also, talking about the power of little things, the reason they want “it,” whatever it is, more than others. It fuels them and gives them purpose. Lesson #6 This one should come as no surprise either, but it is such a constant with high achievers that I had to highlight it. Every Misfit Entrepreneur we have had on this show has a consistent personal growth and development routine. They are different in how they do it. Some people work very closely with a coach or multiple coaches. Others prefer to read and study other great entrepreneurs and successful people. Some listen to a ton of different podcasts. And of course, there are many do a blend of these. Lesson #7 This lesson goes hand in hand with personal development. High performing Misfit Entrepreneurs are very careful who they surround themselves with. They are acutely aware that the people around them have an impact on their success. They are selective in their friends, business partners, employees, and who they choose to spend their time with. Take inventory of who you surround yourself with and spend time. Make sure they are the right people to help you in reaching the levels you aspire to. If you are looking for a great way to make personal development on a daily basis easy and grow yourself in 10 minutes a day, check out this lifetime offer from our friends at Read it For Me. I used this almost every day as part of my routine. Just go to www.Readitfor.Me/Misfit Lesson #8 High performing Misfit Entrepreneurs are great problem solvers. They also have figured out that the bigger the problems that they can solve, the bigger their business and success can grow. They seek out bigger challenges. The take calculated, what I call asymmetric risks. Meaning that the risk they take have some downside, but very little compared to the massive payoff they will get in succeeding in taking the risk. Solving big problems requires taking risks and sometimes a leap of faith. How about you? What problem or problems can you or should you be solving? Are there any problems that you have thought about and are passionate about solving? How can you go about doing so taking an asymmetric risk? Lesson #9 Systems. Systems are the most important part of growing and succeeding in business and the high performers figure this out. They learn the power of having good systems and implement them across their lives and businesses. This allows them to scale and grow. We can only do so much with the time and energy we have. At some point we will plateau because we just cannot work any harder or do any more with the time we have. It is at this point that highly successful Misfit Entrepreneurs learn the lesson of putting in systems in place to duplicate the things they are doing or automate them. Lesson #10 How you do anything is how you do everything. Your habits and choices will define you and your success. This is probably the easiest lesson to understand and hardest to implement because it encompasses everything we have talked about today. All the lessons we have discussed either fall under becoming a habit or a choice. In fact, Tom Ziglar, Zig Ziglar’s son in episode 83 put it perfectly. When I asked him what the absolute most important thing someone can do for their success was, he said “The fastest way to success is to replace a bad habit with a good habit.” Best Quote: “Embracing these 10 lessons gives you the blueprint, foundation, and guide to success..." 100th Episode Misfit 3: Review the 10 lessons and ask how you can incorporate them more fully into your life and business. Ask yourself where you can use DCP to refine these lessons in your life. Just ask, where to do I need to be more disciplined in an area? Where do I need to be more consistent? And where do I need to persistent through take the challenge head-on. Download and use the Top 10 Guide to help you!
Evan Money is a Happily Married, #1 Bestselling Author, Ph.D. & Global Entrepreneur. Evan and his bride remarry in a different state or country every year and are celebrating wedding #23. They home school their two amazing children and live in majestic Rancho Palos Verdes, a quiet enclave in Los Angeles. Evan has been interviewed by and featured on ABC, NBC, CBS, The Wall Street Journal, SUCCESS & Fast Company magazine. Evan also co-wrote and produced the ground-breaking documentary "Words of Art" starring Joel Osteen, Darren Hardy, Zig Ziglar, Jim Rohn, Dennis Waitley and more, available on Amazon Prime. Evan is the #1 source for faith based personal growth for entrepreneurs. Evan and his bride both came from normal dysfunctional families, raise your hand if you can relate? When they first got married their starry-eyed quest was to live happily ever after and bring each other’s dreams to life. The challenge was, they had no money. His bride had a low paying high stress job and he had a struggling business. They drove junky cars and lived in a postage stamp sized rental house. On top of that, he had major sexual baggage from a dark past that he is unpacking today. In-spite of all this they decided to dream big, they set a goal to get remarried in a different state or country every year. With lots of prayer, action and creativity, they have been married 23 times, and yes they have had 23 honeymoons! Their story has been featured in media outlets around the world, but this is just the beginning of their story… Along their journey as husband and wife and now mom and dad, they realized that in order for things to get better, they had to get better and in order for things to grow (like the marriage and their finances) they had to grow. This meant they had to stop blaming everyone else, like the government, the traffic & the economy and start taking full responsibility for their lives. So they began their journey of spiritual and personal growth that continues to this day. Their mission is to bring your dreams to life, because the world needs more people living their dreams. If you have a film that needs financing we can help, along with P&A money. Need cash for your new business or a growth loan? - they have your back. Welcome to Episode 93 of the No Quit Living Podcast. NQL is a personal development podcast designed to help listeners achieve their goals and desires. Through hearing the inspiring stories and tips from the greats, we will all find it easier to stay motivated. Believe it or not, Evan Money's actual last name is "Money." The irony of this is told in Evan's no-quit story. For a long time, the only "money" that he had was his last name. When he first got married to his wife, his net worth was in the negatives. His wife didn't know that at the time, but she quickly found out that they were in a situation they'd have to soon pull themselves out of. Evan, being not only the positive person that he is, but also the action taker that he is has since built multiple companies and found success in so many avenues of his life. He and his wife get re-married and go on a honey moon every year. He and our host Christopher J. Wirth have a lot of common ground in both their desire to help others be successful and their philosophies on the importance of action and accountability. One of Evan's final comments in today's episode that sums up all of this is to drop the "bucket list" and turn it into a "take action now list."
