The Canadian Grand Prix had a bit of everything: Mercedes dominance, Kimi Antonelli making it four wins in a row, and George Russell having a weekend to forget… including a crash. In this episode, Circuit Squad talks about Kimi's unreal form, why George isn't quite matching the same level, and Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen finally being back on the podium. And of course, we had to talk about McLaren's strategy, because honestly… what was that? With the next races taking us back to Europe and Mercedes facing an engine change, things might start shifting again. And yes… predictions were made. Ferrari to win the next race? We said what we said.
Soumil Arora and Kunal Shah re-live the 2026 Canadian Grand Prix - the battle between the Mercedes duo, the legendary Antonelli-Hamilton-Verstappen podium, and of course, McLaren's "inters" choice as the race start tyre. Most of us watch Formula One for the battles, the crashes, and the moments that leave us gasping — and Kimi Antonelli just served up a whole lot of all three. The teenager's fearless, daredevil driving at Canada's GP had fans wondering: is he the new Goliath ready to take on the giant, or just a wild card rewriting the rulebook? In this episode, we break down how Antonelli's gutsy moves are shaking up the sport — from outsmarting veteran racers to redefining what it means to be a champion. You'll discover how his unapologetic aggression mirrors legends like Lewis Hamilton and why 19-year-olds might just be Formula One's secret weapon. Plus, we tackle the controversial battle between youth and experience, including George Russell's tough break and whether he's still in the fight.

Not lying – diese Fehde erinnern an Hamilton-Verstappen! The last time that South Africa hosted a Formula 1 championship at Kyalami was in 1993 before democracy dawned in the country. In the years up to then, it hosted legends like Damon Hill, Sterling Moss, James Hunt, Niki Lauda, and off course our own world champion, Jody Scheckter with the 9-hour races attracting top endurance riders and teams. In the last year; talks have been going on in the background to re-instate the South African Grand Prix. And now, Motorsport SA Chairman Anton Roux, a well-known board room veteran's appointment to the senate of the international body overseeing motorsport, the FIA or Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile has given new hope that a South African Grand Prix could be on the calendar by 2023. Roux spoke to BizNews about the drive to get Formula 1 back in South Africa, the Hamilton-Verstappen controversy, how a new generation of younger, female, and non-white participants and spectators are emerging and where spinning cars, which have become popular in townships, fit in.

And just when you thought Red Bull had one hand on the trophy… Lewis Hamilton did THAT. It was a Brazilian GP (And DRS wing) of epic proportions as we break down one of the most drama-filled race weekends of recent memory. So crazy that Hamilton taking a 5-place grid penalty barely moved the needle. Seriously. We talk about Lewis Hamilton passing 25 (Yes, 25) cars over the weekend as he turned a controversial Qualifying disqualification into a win from 10th on the grid, and how Mercs screwed the pooch over a rear wing's DRS flap that was 1/50th of a centimetre too wide. Oh, and Max Verstappen taking a 50,000 dollar fine for stroking the bad boy. Strange times we live in. We also talk about the third major Hamilton/Verstappen flashpoint of the weekend, the Lap 48 clash as Hamilton tried an audacious outside pass that Max decided to… drift slightly wide for. An incident that the FIA is still sitting down and deliberating as we speak because the onboard footage went missing for it and the stewards decided to leave it alone. Yikes. And we also talk about the Sprint format after Hamilton passed 15 cars in just 24 laps to take him up to 5th and ponder if that was a gamechanger for the format, of it the outlier effect padded the excitement a tad. (Oh and Dre reminds us of a potential fix too, check it out!) And finally, we got confirmation of the final seat being filled in Formula 1's 2022 grid, as Guanyu Zhou makes history to become the sport's first Chinese Driver… And we didn't like the response, drifting from classic ignorance over favourites to full blown xenophobia over the country itself that was well worth talking about. Do check it out as we mention why you'll never get the proper grid you think F1 is worthy of. All that and more on another Motorsport101, check back on social media soon, as a special episode on Valentino Rossi is coming soon!
