Welcome back to the Daily Mastermind with George Wright III, where we deliver your daily dose of inspiration, motivation, and education. If this is your first time, I encourage you to to subscribe to stay up-to-date on content designed to empower you. I appreciate your support. Embrace the Power of Mindset I'm going to spend today (liek most mondays) talking about your mindset. Over the next 12 weeks (on mondays) I'm going to take you through a program called "Creating Your Ultimate Destiny," written by my mentor by Robert Stueberg. I found a lot of value in this program while building my education company, and I think you will get a lot too. Setting Up for Success On Mondays, we focus on mindset. A strong mindset is fundamental for prosperity throughout the week. We'll also explore topics such as money, body, finance, and business. Your mindset dictates your actions, thoughts, and feelings, making it crucial to your success. The First Step: Beliefs Let's kick off this 12-week journey with the foundational element: Beliefs. One pivotal belief you need to embrace is that you are powerful. Each of us has unique talents and strengths, but the real challenge lies in accessing and harnessing this power within. Believing in your innate power is critical for creating and shaping your life. As Napoleon Hill once said, "What the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve." Your beliefs shape your experiences and perception of life. Ask yourself: Do you believe that life happens to you or for you? The meaning you assign to events shapes your reality. By adopting the belief that you can influence and control the meaning of events in your life, you empower yourself to manifest your dreams. Beliefs Shape Happiness Happiness, too, stems from your beliefs. As T. Harv Eker highlighted, people often chase fruits (material success) instead of nurturing roots (core beliefs). Happiness is about appreciating what you have rather than having what you want. It is a decision, and when you choose happiness, you pivot your focus towards gratitude and fulfillment. The Journey of Happiness Happiness isn't a destination; it's a journey. By focusing on gratitude and recognizing your unique talents, you create a fulfilling life. The key to ultimate destiny is not in pursuing happiness but rather pursuing your destiny. Happiness follows when you become the person you want to be, achieve your personal goals, and contribute to others' well-being. Define Your Destiny Reflect on your concept of destiny and write a new definition for it. What do you want to create for yourself? What conditions are required for you to be happy? Understand that you have the power to choose and control these conditions. Conclusion Beliefs are the cornerstone of creating your ultimate destiny. They shape your experience and happiness. As we continue this journey, aim to redefine your destiny, focusing on your beliefs and the actions that align with your goals. Next week, we'll explore how to refine your decisions to further shape your ultimate destiny. Do me a favor and share this episode with someone who could benefit from it, and let's spread the message of empowerment. Thank you for joining me today. I look forward to our continued journey together. Until next time, remember, you are powerful, and your beliefs shape your destiny. George Wright III, The Daily Mastermind JointheEvolution.com

Introduction: In the quest for personal and professional development, amidst the pressures and demands of modern life, one word stands out as the ultimate objective: happiness. Yet, amidst our pursuits of success, wealth, and achievement, we often lose sight of this fundamental goal. In this discussion, I delve into the multifaceted nature of happiness, exploring its significance in various aspects of life and offering insights into how we can cultivate a deeper and more enduring sense of fulfillment. The Essence of Happiness: Happiness, in its purest form, is not merely the absence of sadness or pain but encompasses a state of contentment, fulfillment, and joy. It is the celebration of life's moments, both highs and lows, and the acceptance of their transient nature. To truly embrace happiness, one must acknowledge and be at peace with the inevitable presence of unhappiness. This paradoxical notion challenges conventional beliefs but opens the door to a more profound understanding of human experience. The Role of Happiness in Different Domains: In various spheres of life, happiness plays a pivotal role, influencing outcomes and shaping our experiences. In the workplace, happy individuals are not only more engaged but also more productive, fostering a positive organizational culture. In relationships, happiness forms the foundation for meaningful connections, nurturing bonds of love and companionship. Moreover, in matters of health, happiness is not merely a fleeting emotion but a vital determinant of overall well-being, with numerous studies linking it to longevity and resilience. Redefining Happiness: Traditional notions of happiness often revolve around fleeting pleasures and external achievements. However, a deeper exploration reveals that true happiness transcends these temporary highs, encompassing a state of inner contentment and gratitude. Drawing from my own experiences studying Zen meditation, I discovered that happiness lies not in external validation or material success but in the simple act of being present and finding fulfillment in each moment. Navigating the Complexity of Happiness: As we navigate the complexities of happiness, it is essential to distinguish between its various forms and their underlying motivations. Psychological happiness, driven by external validations and pleasure-seeking behaviors, offers fleeting satisfaction but often leaves us craving more. Similarly, physiological happiness, rooted in the absence of pain and discomfort, provides temporary relief but fails to address deeper existential questions. Embracing Spiritual Happiness: At the pinnacle of the happiness spectrum lies spiritual happiness, which transcends the limitations of the mind and body, offering a profound sense of peace and interconnectedness. By aligning our expectations with the laws of nature and embracing the abundance of the present moment, we can cultivate a more sustainable and resilient form of happiness. This shift from a mindset of scarcity to one of abundance enables us to find joy in the simple pleasures of life and navigate its challenges with grace and resilience. Conclusion: In conclusion, happiness is not merely a destination to be reached but a journey to be embraced. By redefining our understanding of happiness and embracing its spiritual dimensions, we can unlock a deeper sense of fulfillment and meaning in our lives. As we strive to cultivate happiness within ourselves, let us also extend compassion and kindness to others, spreading the joy of living in harmony with nature's universal laws. Welcome to episode 35 of The Way Out Is In: The Zen Art of Living, a podcast series mirroring Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh's deep teachings of Buddhist philosophy: a simple yet profound methodology for dealing with our suffering, and for creating more happiness and joy in our lives. This time, the presenters, Zen Buddhist monk Brother Phap Huu and journalist Jo Confino, discuss the art of happiness according to the sutras from the Buddha's time. Their conversation explores the many layers of the Discourse on Happiness, each of the 11 causes of ‘the greatest happiness', as shared by the Buddha, and how these ancient texts help us create the conditions in which our own happiness can ripen today. Both Brother Phap Huu and Jo dig deeply into their own private and professional lives to exemplify and support these subjects; from ‘living our values' and the Four Gratitudes to the power of the sangha, meaning and purpose, generosity, forgiveness, Thay's memorable calligraphies, and many other topics. It’s whether we have the mindfulness to recognize the wonderful conditions that are there. And so, if we change our perceptions, we start to see that happiness is the way. Just being is the way. And so we can free ourselves from the habit of running after happiness.” “Not to be associated with the foolish ones, but to live in the company of wise people, honoring those who are worth honoring – this is the greatest happiness.” “[Thay suggested sometimes calling] a good friend, a soulmate, someone who understands you, someone who helps you see your shortcomings, and has the courage and the intention to share with you your own ignorance, so that you can grow from it. That is happiness.” “To live in a good environment, to have planted good seeds, and to realize you are on the right path – this is the greatest happiness.” “The environment is not outside of you; you are the environment.” “Every thought is planting a seed. Every idea I conjure up in my mind is planting a seed. Everything I say is planting a seed. Everything I do is planting a seed. And I think people tend not to see the full nature of what it is to plant seeds; that, actually, there’s nothing neutral [about it].” “To have a chance to learn and grow, to be skillful in your professional craft, practicing the precepts and loving speech – this is the greatest happiness.” “To live honestly, generous and giving, to offer support to relatives and friends living a life of blameless conduct – this is the greatest happiness.” “Most of the time, we make ourselves very busy and we think we love and we define love as always giving each other presents. But love is to give each other presence, our true presence, our heart, our ears, our eyes: ‘I see you for who you are. I’m here to listen to you.'” “Being honest means never having to remember what you said.” “To avoid unwholesome actions, not to be caught by alcoholism or drugs, and to be diligent in doing good things. This is the greatest happiness.” “To be humble and polite in manner, to be grateful and content with a simple life, not missing the occasion to learn the dharma – this is the greatest happiness.” “Be grateful and content with a simple life. That always brings me to one of Thay’s calligraphies: ‘You have enough.' That line tells us to continue to learn to have moderation. We are a species with a lot of greed; we take more than we need. We see things as just things, so we keep taking and taking and taking. But what we have learned in our times is that everything is interrelated; that’s why we are in the state that we are in. And that’s why we need this collective awakening. Simple life should be the new culture.” “To be humble is to be free, because as soon as we believe we’re something more than ourselves, it’s a shaky superstructure. To keep it going, we have to keep feeding it, and building it, and protecting it. And, again, it feeds into that egoic mask. Actually, we just lose ourselves. And the more we lose ourselves, the harder it is to come back to ourselves, because the distance becomes so great.” “Practicing Buddhism is not to escape this world, but to be more alive in it.”

Am I happy? If I am happy, what will that look like? Specific circumstances have nothing to do with our internal peace when someone's life is going well. We can create happiness in our lives, but it needs to come from within.
In this conversation with Grace Ueng, Founder & CEO of Savvy Growth and TEDx Speaker, she shares her vulnerable and authentic wisdom bytes about her personal journey from depression to gratitude to happiness, positive psychology, and the habits of being happy in life, business and beyond. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/richard-outram/support
Show Notes Happiness is the greatest success. It's the greatest wisdom. It's the reason we want wisdom. It's the reason we want love. No matter what you want, you really want this feeling that we call happiness. That is really a deep sense of content and fulfillment or peaceful aliveness. Progress Paradox by George Easterbrook: Despite technological advancements that let people live a longer life, even higher quality of life, or even a healthier life, people were actually feeling less happy as a result of it. We probably struggle as much as we ever have to feel truly and genuinely connected to other people to ourselves. We experience a lot of cognitive overload. Our brain is literally wired for negativity and confirmation bias and a number of other biases that make survival much more likely. 50% of our happiness is attributable to genetics but it's changeable. Deviating from Happiness: Happiness is actually our natural state. Overthinking, overanalyzing, perfectionism can be great for business but terrible for your personal life and subjective wellbeing. It's terrible for happiness, peace and even self-love. Recognize that divine discontent is pointing you to a better direction, in a direction that would make you happier in some way or the other. A much more likely outcome from even the most challenging or disruptive forms of adversity or even trauma is actually post-traumatic growth. Most people grow from adversity and challenges. They grow even when they don't wanna grow, even when they think they can't grow. .• Adversity always causes us to stop, slow down and reprioritize. It also weeds out relationships that are weak or not the healthiest and it strengthens the ones that are right. It helps us pay attention to gaining deeper wisdom around what our life is for, what's it about, and where true happiness lies and where it doesn't. Happiness does lead to health. Happy people are actually a lot more responsible with respect to health such as taking healthy behaviors. Happiness is not in the world. It's in you. It's not in the past, in the future; it's in the present and in the presence itself. Four big steps to cultivate innate happines: Our happiness journey is mostly about happy activities or happy actions. Create a list of things, places, activities that make you feel energized, inspired, alive, and encouraged. Reduce the time energy that you invest inunhealth unhealthy, toxic relationships and create some boundaries. Set happiness as your state of mind. Entertain thoughts based on whether or not they're true and constructive. Don't overthink. 32:19 Flow State: One way to describe happiness. In flow state, you're perfectly present and you are not living from the mind, but from a deeper place. How to cultivate the ‘being': Just begin to notice when you're perfectly at peace or feeling happy how quiet your mind is. Practice micro meditation. Enjoy your breath. Most of us overlook the simple things. It's the simple things that are always most powerful and profound. Rob's Best Medicine: Happiness.

Most of us want to create peace and happiness in our lives. But do we actually realize the cost of happiness? To live a happy life, we have to let go two main things: all our fears and desires. Many people seek happiness, but happiness requires us to let go of everything else. ########################################### About the Happiness Podcast: Do you ever wonder what it takes to lead a peaceful, happy life? Happiness Happiness is a by-product of doing something good for other people, In everything I have pointed out to you [by example] that, by working diligently in this manner, we ought to assist the weak, being mindful of the words of the Lord Jesus, how He Himself said, It is more blessed (makes one happier and more to be envied) to give than to receive. (Acts 20:35 AMP) RestoredMinistries.org
There is no way to happiness, happiness is the way. I think we spend way too much time chasing after happiness. We dream up great things and then start after them. To get there, we sacrifice time and resources, sometimes have to crush opponents, and something I don’t like to think about, give up some important things we’ve held onto all our lives, to make the dream come true. In this series, I’ve been trying to relay the message to also enjoy the journey. Your life, according to Wabi Sabi and Kintsugi, is unique and every detail about you tells a fascinating story about who God has created in you. In addition, you living this life, the way you were designed, this is your ikigai. We spend so much precious time looking for purpose instead of living it. We spend so much time chasing after dreams instead of living them out. We spend so much time trying to find the way to happiness, when all along, happiness is the way. Here is a popular quote: “We spend our time waiting for the ideal path to appear. But it never does. Because we forget that paths are made by walking, not waiting.” - MarcandAngel Go live life.

I set my alarm in the morning to go off every 8 minutes and every 8 minutes I’m doing something different. On my way to work, I fill my time with resources that are important to me, podcasts, or a book I want to listen to. Q2. What's your definition of Success? Success is a process, it’s a mindset growth. Personal and professional growth, it doesn’t have to be all about thriving, it’s also about getting back up. Q3. What's your definition of Happiness? Happiness is fleeting but joy is deep and meaningful. What makes me happy is when my kids are proud of me. When my husband supports me. When I am inspired and I’m able to be creative. Q4. What do you know now that you wish you would have known 10 years ago? That the dreams I had as a little girl matter. BIO She is a licensed psychotherapist, a national workshop leader, and upcoming author with more than 22 years of experience working in private practice with clients both locally and all over the world via zoom. She created the online transformational program called “Dethroning Your Inner Critic™, and podcast. It is an approach that centers around her groundbreaking M.I.N.D Method, which consists of examining the habitual and conditioned thoughts and beliefs in our minds that have been playing on a repetitive loop for our whole lives and are as transparent as breathing. She teaches clients to rewire the automatic hardwiring in their minds, not by changing the conditioned thoughts, but by breaking the habit of giving energy and attention to the conditioned thoughts and beliefs. The M.IN.D Method is one-of-a-kind, and its foundation is guided by the unconventional idea that you don’t need a lifetime to learn, master and then change the processes of the mind. Most people try to change the external circumstances of their lives in order to think and feel the contentment and satisfaction they desire. Her methods focus on changing from the inside out. This is the type of transformation that leads you to ‘waking up’ and viewing the world in a different way. Welcome, Joanna! Thanks so much for joining us today! Favorite quote of the episode: “I wish I would have known about authenticity 10 years ago. To be able to do what I want, say what I want and to really own it.” BIO We are here today with Dr. Lisa Greenhill who currently serves as the Senior Director for Institutional Research and Diversity at the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC). Dr. Greenhill directs the Association’s internal study of academic veterinary medicine through collaborative research, analysis and publication efforts. She also manages the DVM: DiVersity Matters initiative, which promotes increased representation of underrepresented persons in academic veterinary medicine, inclusive academic environments and the inclusion of diversity related professional competencies in the DVM curriculum. Dr. Greenhill previously served nearly three years with the AAVMC, during which time she managed legislative and regulatory policy issues including agriculture production, biomedical research, professional education, food safety, and environmental health. She holds a Masters in Public Administration with a concentration in public policy from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA and a Doctorate in Education from Benedictine University in Lisle, IL. She is mom to an amazing daughter and a terrier mix. 2:00 Episode Overview I kicked off 2019 with a promise to discuss big issues, big ideas and provide real-world actionable solutions that we can all implement in our daily lives as busy professionals. So often, we don’t know what we don’t know and sometimes we just don’t know how to start a conversation about important and dynamic topics. These podcasts are meant to start a meaningful conversation so if you would like to see additional guests share another viewpoint around any of these topics please send an email to angela@pawsconsulting.com with your comments and suggestions for future podcast guests and topics. I absolutely cannot wait to hear from you and look forward to your insights and thoughtful comments. I will cite all articles referenced in this podcast in our show notes so you don’t have to stop what you are doing to scramble to find a pen and paper. So with that, let’s jump right in. 2:54 TOPICS Dr. Greenhill is here with me today to help us discuss leadership and help us improve our leadership skills through gaining a better understanding of inclusion and diversity and helping us to better understand what diversity and inclusion really means, what it looks like and how can each of us make a positive impact on the world around us. More diverse teams produce really cool ideas and more profitability. For example, A Forbes article from January 2018 shared current research stating, “…gender is not the only side of the story. Companies with more culturally and ethnically diverse executive teams were 33% more likely to see better-than-average profits. At the board of directors level, more ethnically and cultural diverse companies were 43% more likely to see above-average profits, showing a significant correlation between diversity and performance.” 5:00 As busy professionals, hiring managers, or members of a team, how can we be positive influences in our workplace? 6:00 How to find and tap into talent pools outside of your current networks. 8:30 What is unconscious bias? 11:20 How can we become more aware of our own unconscious biases’? Harvard Project Implicit is one free tool. 12:17 I want to share some information about your column, Diversity Toolbox, for Today’s Veterinary Business magazine. One of my favorite articles is from August of 2018, titled Fairness and Equity for all. In it, you talk about applying an equity framework to decision making to help mitigate disparities. Can you share some examples about how we could apply equity frameworks in our daily lives? 14:00 Discussion of grit and resiliency. 16:00 In preparing for this podcast you shared with me some journal articles that we could share with our audience. One that I found to be particularly powerful, insightful and quite simply found myself wondering how I was going to restrain myself from reading the entire, 6-page article to our listeners was an article by Alice Eagly and Jean Chin published in the April 2010 American Psychologist called Diversity and Leadership in a Changing world. They provide a wide-ranging overview of this topic in an interesting and easy to read format. I want to share their final thoughts with our listeners. “We advocate ending the intellectual segregation of considerations of gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality, and culture from mainstream leadership theory and their treatment as a separate domain of study. To counter this segregation, we recommend that scholars of leadership contemplate how their theories might better address diversity concerns and that scholars of diversity study leadership because this knowledge has considerable potential to illuminate issues of race, ethnicity, gender, and culture.” 20:15 Lisa’s Podcast Diversity and Inclusion On Air; discussion on Intersectionality and integration of leadership and diversity research. 21:22 And finally, I’d like to talk about an amazing idea raised by Quinetta Roberson in her Ted Talk, The science of inclusion. She reminds us that the term inclusion can still be exclusionary and maybe a better term would be fusion. The energy generated from fusion produces one of the most powerful impacts in the universe, so maybe we can use our diverse experiences to have a powerful impact on the world. 24:00 How do we implement diversity and inclusion from a leadership perspective? Act Right. Practice behaviors that actually respect one another’s humanity, identity and value the differences we each bring to the table. 26:26 Authenticity, think about bringing your whole self into a room. Be very clear and do some self-reflection on what skills you have and that you bring to the table and honor that as well. 27:28 5 Questions Segment Q1. We know that the most successful and happy people have a morning routine, what do you do each morning or evening that sets your day up for success? “Hit the snooze button, walk my dog a few miles, and have our quiet time.” Q2. What's your definition of Success? “Success for me is Impact” Q3. What's your definition of Happiness? “Happiness is a good glass of red wine, excellent piece of chocolate cake, a good movie or a good book, and time with my family.” Q4. What do you know now that you wish you would have known 10 years ago? “I wish I would have known about authenticity 10 years ago. To be able to do what I want, say what I want and to really own it.” Q5. What do you think is the biggest issue facing busy professionals today? “Work life balance and work creep.” Love/hate relationship with technology. Tal Ben-Shahar is the Co-founder of the Wholebeing Institute, the Happiness Studies Academy, and PotentialLife. He's the New York Times bestselling author of Happier: Learn the Secrets to Daily Joy and Lasting Fulfillment, Choose the Life You Want: 101 Ways to Create Your Own Road to Happiness, and the new book Short Cuts to Happiness: Life-Changing Lessons from My Barber. Podcast Highlights Who is Tal Ben-Shahar? Tal was bitten by the happiness spider in college while studying computer science in Harvard. While doing rather well academically and socially he found himself to be quite unhappy, so he decided to switch majors to Philosophy and Psychology to pursue the answers to two questions: “why aren’t I happy?” and “how can I become happier?” He became focused on how he can help himself, individuals, organizations, and nations increase their happiness. Tal felt that he wouldn’t be able to find the answers he was looking for in code, so he started looking to ancient wisdom from many people in the past. We’re told we should become successful and then we’ll be happy, but that’s something called the Arrival Fallacy. Success will at best give us a short lived spike in happiness, we need to do other things to increase our levels of well being. The Secret to Happiness Happiness is tough to define but we know it when we feel it. You can tell when you are going through good times and bad times. It’s also important to differentiate between happiness and pleasure, because they are not the same thing. Meaning and purpose are major components of happiness, but they aren’t the whole picture. There is no one secret to happiness. You can feel committed and driven, but still be generally unhappy. Physical wellbeing, curiosity, as well as emotional and interpersonal wellbeing. Striving towards happiness is no different than other goals, you have to put in the work and invest in the effort. The journey can also be as fulfilling as the destination. You have to strive for something that is meaningful to you, that you can also enjoy the journey of getting there. What do you mean by the levels of happiness? When someone asks Tal if he’s happy, his answer is “I don’t know.” He can say he’s happier than he was in the past, but happiness is a journey that ends when life does. We can always strive for more, but we have to accept that there are ups and downs. One of the first lessons that Tal learned is that he first step is to allow yourself to feel unhappy and embrace the negative experiences that are inevitable in life. Don’t compare yourself to an unattainable, unrealistic ideal. When you accept negative emotions and difficulties, you open yourself up to happiness. When you reject negative emotions, they intensify. Taking action when faced with difficulties is the only viable next step. Engaging in things that are meaningful and relationships are the other major components of happiness. Spending time with people that you care about and that care about you is the best predictor of overall happiness and wellbeing. What are the things that are preventing entrepreneurs from being happy? The first question for an entrepreneur should be “what is most meaningful to me?” rather than “what will make me the most money?” Learn to fail, or fail to learn. The most successful entrepreneurs are those that have failed many times and learned from each of those failures. It’s easy to see the successes, but the failures are more valuable. Is there a system to attain happiness? Write down things for which you are grateful and focus on the progress that you’ve made. When you do that, your job satisfaction increases and you become more successful. When you appreciate the

Master Stephen Co is Coach Sam's special guest in this week's edition of Warrior Week: Parables from the Pit. Master Co is an expert in Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga and is the co-author of the books, “The Power of Prana” and “Your Hands Can Heal You." Since 1988, he has been traveling the world teaching and sharing energetic techniques based on ancient spiritual principles that can be applied immediately to transform one's life. Parable #1: An Inspired Encounter Master Co has been traveling the world with Tony Robbins for the past two years sharing the Eastern traditions with the Western minds, something he finds most gratifying. Nearly a year ago, during Warrior Week 43, Coach Sam began writing “I AM THAT I AM” on a whiteboard, setting into motion a series of events orchestrated by the Universe, leading him down a divine path to an inspired encounter with Master Stephen Co. QUESTION Where in your world have you seen the hand of God or the Universe orchestrating events in your life? Parable #2: Learn, Live, Teach Coach Sam: There comes a time when a man needs to identify a spiritual mentor because the idea of “I’m going to do it alone” is limited. What I have been learning from Master Co, I have been giving away to those whom I teach. Master Stephen Co: The more you know, the more you realize how little you know. As a man, a lot of times our ego tells us, “I know everything.” Humility, on the other hand, gives a person the self-confidence to say, “I want to be better; therefore, I will seek someone who has accomplished more.” QUESTION Who is your spiritual mentor? Parable #3: Stepping Stones Thirty years ago, Master Co’s wife fell fourteen feet onto solid concrete and broke her hip. The doctors told them it would take 3 1/2 months for her to heal and to be able to walk again. Master Co searched for alternative solutions, which eventually led him to his mentor. He put into practice what he learned from his mentor – which is what he teaches today – and in two weeks, his wife was walking; in five weeks, she was running. QUESTION How has finding alternative solutions changed the course of your life? Parable #4: I AM I AM is the mover of the body, the creator of feelings, and the thinker of thoughts. If you don’t know who this I AM is, you become a slave to your body, to your emotions, and to your thoughts. By knowing who the “I AM” is, you regain your power and the inner strength to deal with life. To be emotionally stable, mentally clear, and to have inner peace is the desire of most human beings. If someone is not experiencing this in their life, they are in need of healing. QUESTION How do you live when you feel power and strength? Parable #5: The Energy of Happiness Happiness is a feeling, a state; it’s a certain frequency of energy. When you’re with a person who radiates happiness, you begin feeling uplifted. And if you can keep generating that energy, you can permeate yourself and infect other people with that energy. When you’re happier, it’s easier to be compassionate. When you’re not happy, it’s going to be harder, but you can choose to be compassionate. In the end, it’s always a choice. QUESTION What is your experience being around happy vs angry people? How do you feel? Parables from the Pit: “You never arrive at I AM. You find yourself in its presence, but there’s no arrival.” –Sam Falsafi “Being a true man is being able to master yourself.” –Master Stephen Co

If you focus on what is wrong, it gets worse. If you focus on what is right, what is wrong will improve. So say Jesus Christ and Buddha. An attitude of gratitude, thankfulness, life, prosperity, and peace are all discussed.
Dan Hill, PhD, researcher, author and founder of Sensory Logic, shares his wit, wisdom and insights into behavioral sciences in our interview. Dan's work is in facial coding - a diagnostic methodology that connects emotions to the expressions of the 42 facial muscles. It is a fascinating field and might cause you to think about what you're saying with your face, not just your words. Our conversation flowed from Rembrandt to the Minnesota Timberwolves to Haiku to Happiness ("Happiness makes up in height what it lacks in length," according to Woody Allen.) We also discussed how emotions are undervalued in corporations today and how effectively we detect genuine, or disingenuous, emotions in other people's faces. Charles Darwin believed. as Dan noted, that emotions are critical to human survival, otherwise they would have been weeded out through evolution. Dan has authored 6 books and has two new titles releasing on September 12, 2018. We talked a bit about one of the new books, Famous Faces Decoded, as it is ripe with musical references. We recommend it for good entertainment and good science.
