Julie examines the intricate world of success labels, exploring how they shape our perceptions and experiences. She emphasises the importance of understanding and redefining these labels, as they can significantly impact our self-image and the way we pursue our goals. Julie discusses the power of positive labels, the influence of societal expectations, and the necessity of crafting a personal definition of success that aligns with one's core values and aspirations. Through personal anecdotes and practical advice, listeners are encouraged to embrace their unique paths, challenge conventional notions of success, and cultivate a supportive community that uplifts their individual journeys. KEY TAKEAWAYS Understanding Labels: Labels are words we use to describe ourselves and others, and they carry different meanings based on individual experiences. It's crucial to recognize how these labels can impact our self-perception and success. Language of Achievement: The way we talk about success influences our ability to achieve it. Positive language can empower and motivate us, while negative language can hinder our progress. It's important to frame our goals and achievements positively. Personal Definition of Success: Success is a personal and evolving concept that should align with individual values and aspirations. Defining what success means to you is essential for recognising when you have achieved it. Power of Positive Labels: Positive labels can enhance self-image and drive personal growth. Embracing labels like "talented" or "resilient" can inspire individuals to reach their full potential and create a culture of encouragement. Navigating Societal Expectations: Society influences our understanding of success through norms and expectations. It's important to challenge these societal labels and carve out a personal path to success that reflects individual values and goals. BEST MOMENTS "Accepting the wrong label can be detrimental to life, let alone success." "Positive affirming words can empower us and help us stay motivated, while negative or self-limiting language can hold us back." "Labels only have as much power over us as we give them." "Embracing our labels and recognising the unique strengths that come with them can be a game changer in how we approach success." "Success is not defined by external labels. It's a deeply personal and evolving narrative that you have the power to shape and redefine."

John is a true pioneer in the podcasting space, having created the very first daily podcast for entrepreneurs. He's also known for his radical transparency, publishing his financials every single month for years. Today, we're diving into the power of niching down, becoming the number one solution to a real problem, and how AI is changing the game for podcasting and marketing, especially for entrepreneurs scaling their businesses.Guest Introduction:John Lee Dumas is the host of Entrepreneurs On Fire, an award-winning daily podcast with over 3,800 episodes and 150 million downloads. He's had the privilege of interviewing top entrepreneurs like Tony Robbins, Barbara Corcoran, and Seth Godin. John is also the author of The Common Path to Uncommon Success, a practical guide to achieving financial freedom. Over the years, John has built a multi-million-dollar business, and he continues to inspire entrepreneurs to discover and own their niche. Recently, he launched a YouTube show called MicroStrategy Today, which dives deep into the influence of a single company on the Bitcoin space. The Riches Are in the Niches - Key Takeaways:The Power of Consistency:John explains how his commitment to daily podcasting has helped him dominate the space and become the go-to resource for entrepreneurs. Consistency is key—by committing to daily content, you build trust, visibility, and authority faster than any other method. If you're looking to scale your business, consistency in your content and engagement is a powerful tool.Niching Down is the Key to Success:Success comes from narrowing your focus and becoming the best at solving a specific problem. For business owners, defining your niche and offering transformative solutions is crucial to attracting your ideal clients.Engage Your Audience Early & Often:One of the most important strategies John shares is engaging with your audience from the start. By asking questions like:“How did you find my show?”“What do you like about it?”“What don't you like?”“What's your biggest struggle right now?”These questions help you refine your content and build products or services that directly meet your audience's needs. As an entrepreneur, this engagement can be the foundation for creating tailored offerings that resonate deeply with your clients.Transparency Builds Trust:John has published his financial reports every single month for over 12 years, allowing his audience to see the real, behind-the-scenes of entrepreneurship. Today on The Russell Brunson Show, we're diving deep into the master key that unlocks success in all areas of life! …Not just business, marketing, and selling. It's the one concept that separates those who break through from those who stay stuck. If you've ever wondered why you keep repeating the same mistakes, struggle to take action, or feel trapped in a cycle, this episode will completely rewire the way you think about success. At the heart of all personal and business growth is one critical element: pattern interrupts. The difference between those who succeed and those who don't isn't intelligence, talent, or resources… It's their ability to recognize, break, and rebuild patterns. It doesn't matter if it's business, marketing, relationships, sales, health, or leadership, success is about identifying the subconscious loops that keep you stuck and replacing them with patterns that drive results. Key Highlights: The hidden force controlling your actions and why most people never break free How your subconscious mind runs 27,500x faster than your conscious mind (and what that means for success) The 3-step framework for recognizing and interrupting patterns that hold you back Why most entrepreneurs struggle with execution - and how to fix it immediately How to reprogram your responses to failure, fear, and frustration so they fuel growth instead of stopping you The single biggest mistake people make when trying to change their habits Most people try to work harder when they hit a wall. The truth? Hard work without the right pattern is just reinforcing failure faster. The real key is understanding the space between stimulus and response… That tiny moment where you have the power to choose a different action and reprogram success into your subconscious. This isn't just another mindset episode!  This is the key that unlocks everything in all aspects of your life. Julie explores the multifaceted nature of success, challenging the conventional view that equates it solely with financial wealth. She emphasises that success is a personal journey, unique to each individual, and encourages listeners to reflect on their own definitions of success. Julie introduces the triad of true success—health, relationships, and money—highlighting the importance of balance among these elements. She discusses the societal pressures that often lead people to prioritise the hustle over their well-being and relationships, urging listeners to create a vision for their lives that aligns with their true desires. KEY TAKEAWAYS Personal Definition of Success: Success is unique to each individual, and it's essential to define what it means to you personally rather than chasing someone else's dream. The Triad of True Success: True wealth encompasses three pillars: health, relationships, and money. Balancing these elements is crucial for achieving genuine success. Challenging Societal Norms: Society often glorifies the hustle and grind mentality, but prioritizing money over health and relationships can lead to an unfulfilling life. Reflect on what truly matters to you. Proactive Steps to Redefine Success: To redefine success on your terms, create a clear vision of what a successful life looks like, audit where you spend your time and energy, and invest in all three pillars of success. Self-Relationship Importance: The most important relationship is the one you have with yourself. Cultivating self-love and self-respect is vital for overall happiness and success. BEST MOMENTS "Success is often painted with one brush, usually green and covered in dollar signs. But here's the truth. Success isn't just money, and wealth isn't just financial." "If you don't define it for yourself, you might end up chasing someone else's dream." "The quality of your relationships can make or break your happiness and your success." "Wealth without health or meaningful relationships is an empty achievement." "Success is about finding harmony between your ambitions, your well-being, and your relationships."

I'm diving deep into the mindsets and energetics that are absolutely critical for long-term business success on social media. Sure, strategies and hacks are helpful, but let's face it—what really makes or breaks your business is your mindset. After 14 years in the game, I'm sharing key lessons I wish I had known when I started, and the mindset practices you'll want to implement right now.In this episode, you'll learn:[02:29] Mindset #1: Embrace Experimentation & Testing: Growing a business means being willing to experiment. Even after 14 years, I'm constantly testing things out.[06:19] Avoid Perfectionism: One of the biggest mindset shifts I had to make was letting go of perfectionism. I started to get curious about what was working instead of obsessing over getting it right. Pay attention to your analytics, like on Instagram, and use those insights to refine your approach.[09:33] Mindset #2: Create Your Own Metrics of Success: Success isn't defined by likes and follows. I share how you can set your own metrics for success—metrics that you can actually control. [12:57] Mindset #3: Play the Long Game: Success doesn't happen overnight, and that's okay. I talk about why resilience is crucial and how important it is to stay committed to your goals, even when things don't go your way. [15:35] Stay Consistent: Even When Growth Feels Slow: I get real about my own Instagram journey, where follower growth was painfully slow. But staying consistent was the key to hitting breakthrough moments that attracted my ideal clients.[17:53] Convert Your Current Audience: Instead of always chasing growth, I share why it's essential to focus on converting the audience you already have by refining your messaging and giving them the nudge they need to take action.Episode Links:Apply for a complimentary IG breakthrough call! - or DM me the word APPLY on Instagram and you'll get the link.REELS FOR BUSINESS 3 DAY WORKSHOP REPLAY: If you missed my recent live workshop on creating Instagram Reels, don't worry! This episode is sponsored by: Experience Daily Breakthroughs With The 'Secrets Od Success' FREE Newsletter - Transform Your Life In Just 2 Minutes A Day! https://sparklp.co/p/78beb8f30a In today's episode of the Thinking Big Podcast, we dive into a transformative concept that has the power to reshape your reality: Faith. In Step 2 of Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich," we explore how faith, the belief in the unseen, acts as a catalyst in turning dreams into tangible achievements. Faith: The Light Switch to Your Dreams Imagine entering a dark room and flipping on a light switch. Instantaneously, darkness is replaced by light, revealing the room's contents. This analogy perfectly illustrates the role of faith in our lives. Faith ignites the belief in our capabilities and the inevitability of our dreams becoming our reality. The Foundation of Faith At its core, faith is a state of mind, a conviction so profound that it transcends mere hope or desire. It's about instilling in ourselves a belief so unshakeable that our goals, regardless of their grandeur, become attainable. Setting the Stage for Success Success begins with clarity. Vague aspirations like "I want to be wealthy" lack the specificity needed to guide us. By setting precise goals, such as "I want to earn $1,000,000 annually through my coaching business," we provide ourselves a clear target, a destination for our journey towards success. The Muscle of Faith Building faith isn't about fostering blind optimism but nurturing a belief in our potential so potent that it materializes into our existence. It involves conditioning our mindset, much like cultivating a garden, where the seeds of our ambitions are sown and nurtured with positive affirmations and visualizations. Real-Life Inspirations Thomas Edison's story exemplifies perseverance fueled by faith. Despite numerous failures, Edison's unwavering faith in his vision for the light bulb propelled him towards eventual success, demonstrating that faith, coupled with persistence, overcomes even the most formidable challenges. Faith in Action True faith necessitates action. It's not enough to merely believe; we must also take the steps necessary to achieve our goals. Whether it's changing our diet to lose weight or diligently working towards our business objectives, faith demands action. Strengthening Your Faith Faith is akin to a muscle that grows stronger with use. Each obstacle overcome and each goal achieved fortifies our faith, making subsequent aspirations more accessible. Your Faith Journey Embark on a journey of faith by integrating it with other principles of success. Utilize tools like vision boards to keep your goals in sight and practice affirmations to reinforce your belief in their achievability. Remember, faith is not a static trait but a dynamic journey, constantly evolving and strengthening with every challenge faced and every milestone reached. Life is a complex tapestry woven with the threads of experiences, relationships, and achievements. At its core, the quality of our emotions plays a pivotal role in shaping the narrative of our existence. In the pursuit of success, be it in personal relationships, professional endeavors, or self-fulfillment, understanding and mastering our emotions emerges as a critical factor. This episode explores the profound connection between life, emotions, and success, highlighting the transformative power of emotional intelligence. The Essence of Life: Life is not merely a series of events; it is a kaleidoscope of emotions that color our journey. From the highs of joy and love to the lows of sorrow and disappointment, our emotional experiences define the richness and depth of our existence. Life, in its essence, is the canvas upon which we paint the hues of our emotions. Emotions as the Barometer of Well-Being: The quality of life is not determined solely by external circumstances; rather, it is intricately linked to how we perceive and respond to these circumstances. Emotions serve as our internal barometer, reflecting the state of our well-being. When we cultivate positive emotions such as gratitude, compassion, and resilience, we enhance our overall life satisfaction and build a foundation for success. Emotional Intelligence: The Path to Success: Success is not just about achieving goals; it is about navigating the journey with grace and resilience. Emotional intelligence, the ability to understand and manage one's own emotions while effectively navigating social situations, emerges as a key factor in achieving success. Individuals with high emotional intelligence are better equipped to handle challenges, communicate effectively, and build meaningful connections. Positive Emotions and Productivity: The impact of emotions on our professional lives cannot be overstated. Positive emotions, such as enthusiasm, passion, and optimism, are catalysts for productivity and success. They fuel creativity, foster collaboration, and drive innovation. By cultivating a positive emotional environment, individuals and organizations can unlock their full potential and achieve remarkable outcomes. Resilience in the Face of Challenges: Life is replete with challenges, setbacks, and uncertainties. The ability to bounce back from adversity is a hallmark of emotional resilience. Those who can navigate the storms of life with resilience are better positioned for success. Resilience enables individuals to learn from setbacks, adapt to change, and emerge stronger, turning obstacles into stepping stones on the path to success. Building Meaningful Relationships: Emotions are the currency of relationships, and meaningful connections are a cornerstone of a successful life. Empathy, understanding, and effective communication are all rooted in emotional intelligence. Cultivating positive emotions in our interactions with others fosters trust, collaboration, and a sense of community. In both personal and professional spheres, the quality of relationships profoundly influences the trajectory of our lives. Life is a symphony of emotions, and the melody we create shapes our journey and defines our success. By acknowledging the profound influence of emotions on our well-being and harnessing the power of emotional intelligence, we can navigate the complexities of life with grace and purpose. Success, then, becomes not just an external achievement but a reflection of the internal harmony we cultivate through the mastery of our emotions. As we embrace the transformative potential of emotional intelligence, we unlock the door to a more fulfilling and successful life. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/wayne-weathersby/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/wayne-weathersby/support

In this episode, I'll be sharing my key takeaways from Alex Hermozi's book launch for his $100 million leads book, following his successful $100 million offers book. Key Takeaway 1: Are We Playing Small? Many online entrepreneurs underestimate the effort required to build a successful business. Some believe that a few social media posts or a handful of sales calls are sufficient. I even found myself thinking I was playing big, but in comparison to the big players, I was still playing small. So, ask yourself: Are you playing small? Are you expecting a million-dollar business with minimal effort? Key Takeaway 2: Leading with Value Leading with value was a major revelation for me. I've always believed in "what but not how," but I realized the importance of providing immense value upfront and then selling the implementation. Are you leading with real value, or are you just posting without substance on social media? Key Takeaway 3: We Don't Know What We Don't Know The saying "we don't know what we don't know" resonates deeply with me. Listening to Alex's book, I initially felt like I knew it all, but I had two breakthrough moments towards the end. It's vital to remain open and receptive to new knowledge and not assume you've mastered everything. Key Takeaway 4: The Habits of Success Success isn't about intermittent good habits; it's about consistent, high-performance habits. I've had periods of great habits, followed by lapses, but success requires ongoing commitment. Evaluate your daily habits—are they aligned with those of a high-performance entrepreneur? Conclusion This episode might have been triggering for some, but remember, growth often comes from confronting our triggers. Welcome to Daily Show Up, where Darin explores the ever-changing landscape of business, success, and personal growth. In today's episode, Darin delves into the influencer and social media culture, where certainty is often perceived as the key to success. However, we challenge this notion and discuss why a shift in perspective is crucial in today's world.1. Challenging the Certainty Currency• In the age of social media influencers, projecting certainty has become essential for gaining influence and success.• This approach may work for some, but it lacks nuance and customization, as it caters to a broad audience.• The most effective message is one-to-one, taking into account individual circumstances and perspectives.2. The Ever-Shifting Perspectives of Success• Success in business is not a one-size-fits-all concept; it varies based on market conditions, economic factors, and personal circumstances.• Four levels of success are identified: capsizing (utterly failing), surviving (treading water), thriving (doing great), and impact (making a difference in others' lives).• Perspective changes are essential as you progress through different stages in your business and life.3. Surviving is Thriving: Embracing a Perspective Shift• The current economic climate demands a shift in perspective; what was once considered surviving is now thriving.• Many individuals exit industries prematurely because they resist the change and discomfort of surviving in a tough market.• Rather than waiting for the economy to improve, entrepreneurs should adapt and optimize their approach to succeed during challenging times.

In a 2013 blog post, Seth Godin, marketing and thinker extraordinaire, has said this, “Measurement is fabulous. Unless you're busy measuring what's easy to measure as opposed to what's important.” He wasn't talking about spiritual things. But he was talking about the results of measuring the wrong things and the importance of measuring the important things. Exactly what we're going to pray about today. Personal Update: We have a new family member in the house, my mom got a dog! And, oh boy, had we forgotten what it's like to have a toddler, I mean, puppy, around! About Prayer We've been talking about our postures in prayer, how we use our body to communicate. Today we're going to look at a related topic: how we use our voice. How can we bring our full selves to prayer in an emotionally authentic way? I was looking at quotes about success and it was really interesting how different they are, how many mention failure, and how many list different requirements to succeed. But I thought this was interesting: Kevin Spacey said, “Success is like death. The more successful you become, the higher the houses in the hills get and the higher the fences get.” Success is something that isolates us, he says. It separates us from all the things that really matter - community. Not a common perspective but interesting as we're talking today about the kind of success we chase after. Personal Update: A late-night rescue of my teenage son reminds me of the importance of gratitude in all circumstances. About Prayer You were probably familiar with the other prayer postures we've talked about in previous episodes, but this week we're going to talk about one less familiar–lying prostrate before God.     James Golden got his start within the world of business, consulting, and entrepreneurship at the age of 19. What started as a part-time job has turned into a 23-year career and passion for helping municipalities across the US to save taxpayer dollars, maximize their annual budget and increase the conditions of their roadways.   When he is not advocating for roadway preservation, James enjoys helping others in the constant pursuit of becoming the best version of themselves through his "Good to Golden" podcasting, a personal and group coaching initiative.     [00:00 - 07:46] Opening Segment James shares his story of how he became an engineer and founded a company that provides data-driven solutions for roadway deterioration and improvement. Backstory includes playing baseball in high school and coaching kids, which helped him make connections in the engineering and pavement management spaces. How James took action and became a field employee for a payment management group, eventually becoming the CEO. Through his experiences, he has developed expertise in the field that has helped him succeed in his current career.   [07:46 - 14:31] When you raise your level of awareness, you can see potholes and other issues earlier When you are aware, you can see areas where you want to grow and make course corrections. The trillion-dollar infrastructure bill is for roadways and will only be a band-aid unless preventive maintenance is done. People face the same issues as engineers, just in different areas. Engineers are good communicators to other engineers and people that are in their technical area.   [14:31 - 22:02] How Technology Is Helping Engineers Solve Political Problems Engineers play an important role in the delivery of solutions to problems and can help translate technical solutions into a format that is understandable by those who make decisions. Younger engineers face similar challenges when trying to translate their technical solutions into a format that is understandable by those who make decisions up the food chain. Machine learning can be used to help identify distress in roadways and other infrastructure, and can provide valuable information to those who make decisions about how to best use these resources.   [22:02 - 29:26] Becoming The Best Version of Yourself by Measuring your Success Success is not a one-size fits, and it's a journey, not a destination. To achieve success, you need to grow in different areas of your life. James has one way to measure success by correlating it to finding the volume of the mass Length x Width x Height Height is your personal development Width is your growing your network Length or Depth is how and where you use this acquired knowledge  You should also be striving for success in all areas of your life.       [29:273 – 33:35] Closing Segment   Learn more about James Golden by visiting his website at jamesgolden.me or listen to his show, The Golden Hour at apple podcast    Sponsors:   Banowetz Marketing: Growing a business is hard. What if you could create a gorgeous life on your own terms? What if you are exactly where you are supposed to be not behind or broken? What if you gave yourself the permission to envision your fantasy life free of obligations? What if you just want peace in your life in a world that knows how to poke your wounds and feel total and utter chaos? Whether you're a parent with many obligations or you're single and you feel a little bit burnt out, you have a choice to live a gorgeous life. It's possible! In today's episode, I want to introduce you to Michael A. Blunt is a master teacher, student, and global energy influencer. He unifies modern psychology, neuroscience, and spiritual energetics into a single path. He teaches creators and business professionals a global model for transformation that is so simple that it can be applied immediately to upgrade the quality of their life.  Michael's purpose is to teach ancient wisdom in a modern way, and show creators that they can have it all. His purpose also includes empowering business professionals to find balance and transcend their current limitations. Micheal wants to give people a plan to improve their lives – being happy with where they are right now, but never satisfied with just staying there. During our conversation, Michael explained that he had no concept of belief systems and paradigms. So his behaviors were more aligned with things that were passed down to him rather than things he was creating for himself. If you're in a place where something just doesn't feel right pertaining to the way that you're living your everyday life, then this episode is for you! A lot of us feel this way, yet we don't feel like we could talk about it. The truth is that there are many of us feeling this way and it could be eating up even your boss, your neighbor, or your friends.  As moms, most especially, we think we've lost that touch of creativity and imagination. That's why I've also written a book to empower moms to use their imagination because it's a superpower – and it all starts with changing the mindset. Blunt's Biography Michael A. Blunt is an entrepreneur with Reiki healing experience. He holds a BS degree in Computer Science and a Master's in Business Administration. Michael has been engaging in the personal transformation industry for years, bringing unique blends of business mastery, scientific reasoning, and natural energetic abilities that translate directly to the needs of successful creators and professionals who are seeking a more balanced and fulfilling lifestyle. Michael was inspired to go on this journey after quitting his corporate job in 2016 because of his own poor health due to chronic stress, anxiety attacks, and depression. Searching for an answer, he was eventually introduced to Energy Transhumanists such as Dr. Joe Dispenza and Bob Proctor, who taught him the idea that humans can transcend their current natural state and limitations through the mastery of their own built-in subconscious technology. Michael's work has been influenced by the teachings of these energy masters, and many more such as Dr. Bruce Lipton, who helped form Michael's vision of creating one of the leading models in energy transhumanism – the perfect formula to elevate the world's most powerful creators and professionals. Highlights Perfectionism: You can uncover the beliefs behind the behaviors you no longer wish to exhibit. Perfectionism is a coping mechanism to cover over shame. The underlying belief of shame is being not enough.  Stillness: Drop your obligations mentally for a moment of stillness. We spend a lot of time trying to chase success trying to chase a dream or trying to be something different than what we are and we wind up hating ourselves for it. Peace: Choose peace, even in the midst of chaos. Even if it's just a simple tapping of your fingers, bring yourself to the present moment, even if you're in the middle of a crisis situation.  Readiness: People are only ready to hear what they're ready to hear when they're ready to hear and it goes in lockstep with their own awakening process.  Curiosity: People don't give themselves the opportunity to imagine anymore. They just take what was given to them or what they inherited. They work with the known because they're so scared of the unknown that they limit themselves.  Honesty: By having honest conversations, more people will find peace. It's a mindset that we can set into that allows you to just be and step into your authenticity. Behavior: Your mindset and your belief systems drive your behaviors. They can also limit you or they can set you free. They drive your behaviors and your behaviors create your future for you.  Mindset: Allow your mindset and your belief systems to be unlocked and unlimited. Then watch your behaviors become different, which will create a new life and a new future for yourself. Deprogramming: Deprogramming is the process of becoming aware, identifying, and rewiring your old belief systems. The first step of changing your behaviors is starting with the mindset and your belief system. Success: Success doesn't happen by luck or chance. It happens by design, you have to choose that and step into that.  Clarity: The more you can deprogram from your belief systems, the more you step into exactly who you are and who you desire to be, rather than who you expect yourself to be or what other people expect you to be. Vulnerability: The antidote to shame is vulnerability. Then the next step is authenticity, which sets you on the track to fulfilling your purpose and being the best version of yourself. This is why resilience is crucial for everyone. But here's the good news: you can build resilience to show up as your best self anywhere you go. In this episode of The Limitless Podcast, Jamie Ratterman shares five keys to building long-term resilience in business. More specifically, she delves into the importance of health, embracing failures, the power of self-reflection, the significance of a sustainable business ecosystem, and celebrating the present. Resources Break free from Instagram dependence with Jamie's Social Expansion 6-week group course! Read about the effects of 20 minutes of exercise on your brainpower in this NCBI paper! Episode Highlights [03:30] Resilience in Success  “Success does not come from continuously winning. Success comes from challenges, comes from figuring out that things aren't working exactly how you want, finding yourself getting stuck sometimes, but also, of course, celebrating those big wins” Resilience is essential to growing a successful business.  Be aware and accept the things that are holding you back.  Embrace the process and learn to bounce back and overcome adversities.  Learn to celebrate the present. This includes sitting with and showing up on the hard days.  [05:46] Your Best Self Is Your Business's Biggest Asset You are your business's lifeblood and life force. You are your business's biggest asset.  It is a must to take care of your mind, body, and spirit. By doing so, you can be your best self. Resilience is actively seeking and dismantling patterns that slow you down, creating new systems, and adjusting your mindsets accordingly.  [06:32] #1: Prioritize Your Health “You are going to get your best creativity, your best energy, and your best problem solving when you take care of your body first.” Your brain is affected by your routines, like your diet and sleep. Resilience comes from within. This is why it is crucial to prioritize your health.  It only takes 10 minutes of movement to change your day.  Take breaks to recharge! You can't be your best self if you're exhausted. [09:22] Incorporating Movement Daily  You do not need an hour-long workout to reap the benefits of your mind. A study has found that it can only take as little as 5 to 20 minutes of movement a day to get your brain working at its best.  You can use the Pomodoro Technique to create breaks during your day. Take a stroll or dance in your living room.  Think about how you plan and execute movement throughout the day. Overextending and overworking yourself can have detrimental effects.  Take breaks. Like a muscle, you can't be using your mind continuously. It needs rest too. [14:28] #2 Think of Failure as a Key to Success Challenges and failures are a part of the road to success. No one can relate to someone who's never struggled. Acknowledge problems but do not dwell on them. Show up and be solution-oriented instead.  The Scarcity vs. Abundance Paradigm: we are neither abundant nor scarce all the time. Our focus should be on finding ways to activate ourselves during scarcity.  Be mindful of your mind and body's current state. Ask yourself, "Why am I feeling scarcity?" Then pull yourself out of it.  “The more we talk to ourselves in a positive way, the more we're going to be able to flip that script a little more easily.” [19:59] #3: Embrace the Power of Regular Self-Reflection Review where you spend your time and energy regularly. Self-reflection is how you build resilience in the long term. Self-trust comes from having a more profound inner knowing of who you are. Cultivate a resilience mindset. What does your best self look like?  Reflect on your life so you can address issues you encounter.  Ask yourself, “Where do I feel stuck right now?” Then, try to find an activating step to alleviate your dilemma.  You are the energy of your business, and you want to preserve that. Don't neglect your mental health for your business! [24:40] #4: Creating an Ironclad Structure for your Business Step 1: Do not be dependent on a single channel. Instead, choose your channels and make sure they represent you well. Remember that you are creating an empire of what you do.  You do not have to have a website to start a business. But you have to have one to scale a business.  Step 2: Be inclusive in treating your email subscribers. Make them feel like they are part of an inner circle.  Step 3: Maximize your social media for brand awareness and conversion. Create a structure — an ecosystem for your business — where you allow yourself to be independent and not hold on tightly to one platform.  [31:56] #5: Celebrating Yourself and Savoring Celebrations People are always on the lookout for the next thing and very seldom in the present. We are often only present when in pain.  Celebration is about presence. It's about honoring all the work you've done.  We do not only celebrate big wins. It can be as simple as getting through a workout or getting a fantastic cup of coffee in the morning.  “All of these are wins. All of these tell us and our subconscious that we can keep winning. We can keep celebrating. We're not going to just continue to move into the next stress, the next thing we have to do.” Write down five gratitudes every single day. It gives you a better appreciation of now.  Find people you are ready to celebrate with and will make you want to continue to move. So, you have some goals this year. Now what? Have you ever thought to yourself, “I wish I knew what to do and how to create the results I want”? You have the heart, passion, and vision…so, what gives?  Let me tell you, no amount of hoping, thinking, and planning will get you the results you are looking for. It's not your fault! In order to accelerate your success, you need to unlock that millionaire mindset and begin rewiring those subconscious automations that keep us playing small (that keep us feeling safe).  The first step to unlocking the mindset is alignment. The biggest take-aways from today's episode are: We tend to play a tug-of-war between something we're trying to be and who we actually are. In reality, it's about keeping your cup full. What lights you up? When your feet hit the floor in the morning, what is it that drives you? That is where our alignment should be.  You are enough. God has given you your special gifts and talents to be shared with the world. There is no one quite like you and once you can grab hold of this truth, you begin living in alignment with your calling and purpose.  You have a vision and mission to give to the world that only you can give. It is only through alignment that this concept will work. You can't pour from an empty cup. Make sure your cup is full with your passion, purpose, and personality, which are all a gift to the world.  On a piece of paper, I want you to write this out and journal about these.  My personality: ___________________ My gifts: _________________________ My calling: _______________________ You were created for so much more. Let's step into that calling in 2022! To your success,Dr. Shannon Irvine ______________________________________________________________________ P.S. THE CHALLENGE: Have you ever struggled with perfectionism or feeling like no matter how well you do something…it seems like it's not quite good enough? Do you ever place a large amount of pressure and stress on yourself to perform at a high level and you find yourself beating yourself up when you don't achieve?? Do you ever feel that you can never meet a certain standard you've set for yourself?   I've struggled with this idea of self-doubt, feeling like I'm not good enough, and having to achieve more in order to prove my worth and value as a man…and beating myself up when I don't achieve “up to par”.   As men we all have a need for validation. The definition of validation is…”the act of affirming a person, or their ideas, feelings, actions, as acceptable and worthy”. Every man, including you desires to be affirmed and to feel as acceptable and worthy. Validation is what defines our self-worth and value.   THE PROBLEM: “External Validation” (aka Kryptonite)   Validation is needed and good, but only if it is coming from the right place and is not dependent on something external from us or outside of our control.   More often than not, we seek validation from and depend on validation from the wrong places…from things that are external from us. -This becomes a setup for dependence on something (similar to an addict dependent on drugs or alcohol)             - This becomes a setup for future crisis. If we become dependent on the validation, and it leaves, then so does our value & worth   -Top 3 things men receive external validation from: Success Success becomes a way to soothe our own underlying insecurities. We strive for success in order to validate our worth and value instead of knowing our own intrinsic value and creating success from it. If we don't achieve our goal or fall short, we end up feeling shame and self-doubt which shows up by beating ourselves up. Status Status and influence becomes something we chase in order to feel better about ourselves. The titles and followers, and likes we use to help define our significance. If we don't get the status, again we will often beat ourselves up OR do anything to get more status…even compromising our character. Sex We often times use sex as a way to be validated. We unfortunately feel like ‘conquering another woman' or performing well in bed will contribute to our feeling of worth and being masculine. This leads to troubled relationships and adultery, because you continue to use what should be an intimate experience as a way to soothe insecurities.   Our identity (how we define ourselves) is closely linked to what we get validated by most!!   For example, If you are dependent on success as a means of validation, then you will self-identify as a success ONLY IF you succeed at your goal. Unfortunately, the opposite will destroy your self-perception. Meaning, if you don't succeed or not actively succeeding…then you'll identify yourself as a failure.     Ways to determine if you are becoming addicted/dependent on some external validation You beat yourself up Feel like a failure if you aren't succeeding at something Succeed at any cost Compromise your character in order to get the success, status, or sex Perfectionism Feel like things have to be perfect, and if they aren't you take mistakes very personal   How to Turn Kryptonite into Cure   SOLUTION: RECOGNIZE the things you are dependent on for validation: Ask yourself: “Do I get caught up more with how this makes ME feel or how it will help someone else feel??” Success: Are you more focused on what you receive from success, as opposed to the service others recieve? Sex: Are you focused more on how it will make you feel vs how it will make your spouse feel Status: Are you more focused on achieving the title and influence vs. the people that you help to earn the status? RECEIVE validation PRIMARILY FROM YOUR IDENTITY as a Son of God What does God say about you? Made in the image and likeness of God Fearfully & Wonderfully made More than a conquer Able to do all things through Christ's strength This doesn't change!! This is truth This sets you up to CREATE success, elevate influence, and improve relationships (fruit) instead of CRAVING those things to prove you have value…because you now KNOW who you are! Remind others of the same thing Help others see the same in themselves and it will be reinforced in you.     ACTION ITEM: Daily remind yourself of who God says you are. His creation and your identity in him validates you!   The result? There will be no circumstance that can stop you! You'll become unstoppable and unbreakable!   If you need help, book a 1:1 Discovery Call with me at https://drbradmd.com

Eileen Voynick has held senior operating roles and board leadership roles at companies including SAP, Oracle, Siebel Systems, All Scripts, Sparta Systems, and Chair of the Board at Jefferson Health. In this episode, Eileen shares the evolution of Customer Success, both as a function and as a focus in the enterprise software industry.Eileen's initial foray into Customer Success was formed in part by the large SAP partner ecosystem.  At SAP, Customer Success was focused on the business value that a customer can derive from the use of their software.  A consistent theme across every software deployment model is that business value and satisfaction have to be understood from the C-Suite all the way down to the individual user.Customer Experience has always been important in the software industry and has an elevated role in the "Cloud".  Eileen highlight that if you look at the switching costs of Cloud deployed versus on-premise are very similar in highly regulated fields such as health care and financial services. "Customer Experience" may have a higher focus today however, that is not primarily due to the deployment model, but rather the evolution of software becoming more common across industries, functions, and processes.Creating a "Customer Journey Map" which includes every touch from initial touchpoint to full implementation and deployment is a critical task to complete for every Cloud company.  This includes ensuring that customer touchpoints are also included post successful deployment to ensure that customer engagement is maintained across every customer stakeholder beyond one to two months before a renewal discussion. We asked Eileen, "what's next?" in the world of Customer Experience,  Product Management becoming more focused on customer experience versus feature/function will become table stakes. Eilleen's example of how a vendor wowed doctors after watching how they performed specific tasks and then came back with a prototype that was met with astonishment by the potential customer. At the end of the day, customer experience boils down to the "business value" that a software provider delivers to each customer. When the question "who owns an account after it's closed?" was asked, co-host Ray Rike responded with some benchmarks including, CS now consumes 11% of revenue at the median in B2B Cloud companies.  Ray shared that Customer Success should own customer value-based upon user engagement, the value received from using the software but CS should NOT own up-sells, and cross-sells,  it should be a "team" approach to ensure customer satisfaction and thus customer retention + growth.Eileen views the CSM as a great facilitator that orchestrates priorities across their company to ensure customer success.  In the "land and expand" model, she shared that having an account management team that works closely with Customer Success to identify, nurture and close up-sells and cross-sells is a preferred model.  A caveat is that based upon the maturity of the company, this approach will vary. The CRO needs to take leadership in establishing a sales-oriented, customer value culture that centers around the customer as job 1. This will go a long way towards building cross-functional alignment.Lastly, we covered the role of the board of directors in helping companies make the Digital Transformation?  Eileen shared that over the last 10 years, her primary role as a board member has centered around product and Go-To-Market strategy which are both core to a successful digital transformation journey.  Eileen shared that as a board member, understanding the investor thesis and the company objectives to ensure they are aligned is one of her key responsibilities. Finally, Eileen shared that being a lifelong learner with strong active listening skills are critical for early career professSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

I want you to listen and determine if you can relate to (believe) this statement as well..."I had to learn the hard way that success does not lead to happiness. It never has and it never will."   Success can bring you some short term joy and comfort but not happiness.   In fact, even setting goals for achieving happiness don't always create happiness.   My personal Experience is a great example of that...(explain)   You see, happiness doesn't like to be chased...   Robert talks about how to create the right environment, activities and qualities of life that will attract happiness. When you do this, you will be surprised how "easily" happiness appears in your life.   PP #7 I choose to be happy can be difficult to do. But, creating a life that will attract happiness can be a simpler path at times.   Remember this important idea...Success "the way the world defines it" will not bring happiness.   Pleasing others does not bring happiness. Nice cars, clothes, travel or things does not bring hapiness. The perfect job doesn't bring happiness.   We all know people that have had everything that the world considers Success and yet suffered from Depression, Suicide, Anxiety, and basic Unhappiness.   This is because...Having what you want doesn't bring happiness. The Dahli Lama said in his book... Happiness doesn't come from having what you want, but Wanting what you have.   That is the path to true happiness. Gratitude and acceptance is a path to happiness.   The difficult also presents itself when you realize that just "reminding yourself daily" also isn't the solution. Especially for those of us that Robert says are "addicted to success". If you have spent your whole life chasing goals and success, it is sometime easy to forget that it won't bring you happiness directly.   So, how do you start to create that true and lasting happiness? Well you can start by reading the ebook and let Robert break down some ideas and things for you. lol   But, so you don't feel I opened the topic and left you hanging, here are a few ideas that I have implemented in my life you can also use to create an environment of success and happiness: daily rituals to create happiness habits and patterns gratitude practice to stay focused on appreciation for what you have commitment to relationships to remind yourself that it more than just about YOU   It's my hope that you not only build a life that will attract and grow happiness, but also start to focus your efforts on Happiness and not just Success.   Thanks for listening today. We know that the most successful and happy people have a morning routine, what do you do each morning or evening that sets your day up for success? I set my alarm in the morning to go off every 8 minutes and every 8 minutes I’m doing something different. I check in with myself, then pray or read the bible, then I have a cup of coffee with my husband. On my way to work, I fill my time with resources that are important to me, podcasts, or a book I want to listen to. Q2. What's your definition of Success? Success is a process, it’s a mindset growth. Personal and professional growth, it doesn’t have to be all about thriving, it’s also about getting back up. Q3. What's your definition of Happiness? Happiness is fleeting but joy is deep and meaningful. What makes me happy is when my kids are proud of me. When my husband supports me. When I am inspired and I’m able to be creative. Q4. What do you know now that you wish you would have known 10 years ago? That the dreams I had as a little girl matter. Self-validation matters, when you can accept yourself and validate yourself and also see what God says about you, that is what I wish I would have known 10 years ago. Q5. What do you think is the biggest issue facing busy professionals today? I think it’s two-fold.  I think it’s time management and distraction. Most Fears can be divided up into three different things Fear of Failure: Failing can elicit feelings such as disappointment, anger, frustration, sadness, regret, and confusion. Fear of Success: Success can elicit feelings such as risk, putting oneself out there, and might be linked to past traumatic experiences. Fear of Judgement: This fear of being judged is you, judging yourself AND the other person. You assume you've done something that is going to cause a negative judgement. This is a reflection of your own fears. I'm betting you have experienced at least two out of the three. My fears have evolved around all three. I have feared failing and put in two or three times the work of others to try to make sure I don't fail. I have thought that I needed others to be involved as I would fail on my own. I have felt the disappointment, anger, and all of the other feelings listed because of the thought of the failure. The fear of judgment is linked to the desire to be liked by all at all times. But because that is impossible, this is a losing game that keeps people from uninhibitedly experiencing and expressing their true selves. 1. Own the fear and realize it will not last 2. Judgment, failure, and success is unavoidable. 3. Focus on things you can control! 4. See the future you want! Now I hope each one of you will hear me when I say how much I appreciate each of you. 20 Twenty20 Tips for a Great Year How to Make It Your Best Year Ever Bernard Kelvin Clive  How different would you live your life if there was no calendar? At the end and beginning of every year, there is an increase in goal setting activities, people set goals and resolutions with the hope of achieving them. The question is, what if these activities were a lifestyle, done throughout the year and not tied to a particular ending or beginning? What if, we simply decide to enjoy our daily lives while pursuing or set goals and dreams? Well, today I present to you tips to make the best of your daily life, hence your year. Let’s get started! Tip #1 Define your Success Success means different things to different people. To begin with, define what success (a great year), means to you. In your terms, don’t let society determine that for you. Once you’ve done that, you set yourself free from the pressures of society by not leaving to impress others and ready to succeed. Tip #2 Be Decisive Decide to make it great. Once you define what success and a great year or life mean to you, the next thing to do is decide to make it so. You are a decision away from your life’s breakthrough. You hold the keys to your life’s happiness. Decide this day, to make the rest of your life the best you can ever have. Tip #3 Your big idea! You must have an intriguing idea, a dream; something you are so passionate about, a problem to solve, a need to meet, a mark to make. That is your Dream, Your Vision, Your Goal: Be specific! See the big picture. How will it be like, when you finally get it? What will success mean to you? Set crystal clear goals; goals that will set your heart on fire. Make it important to you. Tip #4 Focus (Follow One Course Until Successful). Master One thing. Don’t dissipate your energy. Ask yourself, what one thing do I want to be noted for this year? Then channel all your energy and resources to make it happen. Become so good at what you do that you can’t be ignored. So, become the best in your chosen field.  Tip #5 Raise the bar on yourself! Think Big! Expand your vision and expect more from yourself than anyone, then, go make it happen. Compete against yourself and challenge yourself daily. Use your creative imagination. Think win, win, in all the time. Ask: How can I help someone win today? How can I be a miracle to someone?  Tip #6 Build a team Carefully select your dream team. Remember: you are the average of your 5 closest friends you spend the most time with. Evaluate your circles in the previous year, did they help or hamper your progress? Then revise where necessary, it matters! TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves More  Tip #7 A better approach Ask yourself, how can I do this better? Innovate! Permit yourself to succeed in those areas. By working in the area of your strengths, your talents, and gifts you can master your craft with ease.  Tip #8 Fail fast! Hey! Don’t be afraid to fail. Feel the fear and do it! Face your fears. Things may not turn out as you planned but don’t give up, learn from them. Get up anytime you fall and fight on! It’s all part of the growth process.  Tip #9 Stretch yourself! Don’t just do the easy and fun things to just get by, leave your comfort zone, exceed your limits, and break that barrier. Do the difficult task. Discipline yourself to succeed.  Tip #10 Write things down! Write your goals down and read them often. Revise them as when necessary. You must stay current; be updated on current trends around the world especially in your field. Read great materials, books, articles, etc.  Tip #11 ACT! Action that Creates Transformation. There are lots of talkers around, but don’t be one of them, be a doer, a goal chaser, a dream maker. Act Now!!! Just, make it happen!  Tip #12 Results Be productivity minded not activity-filled. So many things will call for your time and attention but follow your heart. Stick to plans. FOCUS!  Tip #13 Take a Step at a Time Do the work that matters. Decide to do something daily that pushes you towards the realization of your ultimate goal, dream.  Tip #14 Be purposeful! Listen to your heart, your guts, your internal voice. Let whatever you do be a product of your own decision and conviction because it’s your dream and your life. Be responsible!  Tip #15 Assessment! Review your goals frequently to ensure that you are on the right track. Cut down every unproductive activity, prune and manure those that need nurturing and forge ahead with confidence.  Tip #16 Enjoy the journey In the process of pursuing your various endeavors in life, never forget to enjoy the seemingly small achievements. Enjoy the journey, don’t be fixated on the results. Smell the roses along the way, savor the little pleasures of life. Tip #17 Be thankful Life will through you many surprises, both good and bad, however, never overlook the good things and people that come your way. Genuinely appreciate the kindness you receive and the goodies. Things may all not turn out good as desired but just learn to develop a grateful attitude. It makes a big difference. Tip #18 Take Chances Life will not offer you what you desire on a silver platter. You must be willing to take the plunge and dive in. Try out new things. Experiment and explore. The more chances you take the luckier you become. To make the best out of any given situation demands your full preparation and commitment. Go for it! Tip #19 Keep investing in yourself. You should endeavor to stay on top of your game. Constantly learning, unlearning and relearning. Invest in buildings your brand, grow […]

In this episode, I talk with Dr. Marianne Krumdick, a veterinarian, a CPT in the USAR Veterinary Corps and a personal finance enthusiast who is working towards FIRE (Financial Independence Retire Early). She even led a Financial Peace University Course (developed by Dave Ramsey) while deployed.  I thought it would be fun and hopefully useful, to have a real-world conversation with real people about personal finance, which resources have helped us along the way and share our perspectives. I hope you enjoy our conversation as much as I enjoyed speaking with Dr. K! *Disclaimer: We are NOT financial professionals; this podcast is for entertainment purposes only. Balance between saving for future goals and living life today. FI, FIRE, Lean FI, Fat FI, FFLC, ERE– Definitions and understand that financial independence isn’t about the amount of money but what you need to be financially stable and not need a full-time job.  It’s about life fulfillment, create a life you don’t want to retire from. Retire early and often! Step 1: Where are you today? Budget vs. Un-Budget How to Un-budget? How much can I afford to save? And do that first.  Then automate your monthly expenses from your checking account. Dave Ramsey’s plan is a good get out of debt plan, where to start. Create a budget and list where you spend your money.  It may take 90+ days to get a handle on where you spend money and where to cut or replace your current service with a less expensive alternative that gives you the same or greater value.  Discussion of Dave Ramsey’s Baby Steps Spender vs. Saver? Mindset shift: Spend into a savings account in a different bank! What’s next after you get out of debt? Where Dave Ramsey ends, and FIRE begins. Get out of the mindset of having someone else “handle it” because no one cares about your money and your financial independence more than you. Keep learning as you go.   Where to put your money? Depends on your goals. How to stay motivated: Color in a debt barometer or make a paper chain to keep the family involved and motivated! Don’t drag it out longer than you have to because you will lose motivation.  The fun account! Profit first is a way to motivate yourself and keep you focused on your goals. Everyone needs a release valve! Angela’s hypothesis, what happens when you combine Profit First and the Dave Ramsey method? 42:50- 5 Questions Segment Q1. We know that the most successful and happy people have a morning routine, what do you do each morning or evening that sets your day up for success? I set my uniform up the night before because I am living in a small space in a deployed environment currently. Q2. What's your definition of Success? Success is about finding activities in your life that you find fulfilling and surround yourself with people who you have valuable relationships with and hopefully make this world a better place. Q3. What's your definition of Happiness? Fostering relationships with friends and family and living out purpose.  If you are doing those things, you’re going to be happy and also successful. Q4. What do you know now that you wish you would have known 10 years ago? I wish I knew about index funds! I wish I knew a few simple concepts about finance and where to put my money. Q5. Have you ever paused to think about how you talk to yourself? Do you consider the fact that we often think about our words before we criticize or give advice to our friends, but no such filter exists when we participate in self talk? When it comes to reflecting on body image, training for a race, or setting goals, the way we think and talk about ourselves can drastically affect our performance. Learning to ask ourselves the right questions and thinking through things before making conclusions about our character is a way to add that needed pause—just enough to simulate a real-life, caring discussion with ourselves. Answering sport psychology questions is Evie Serventi’s forte, so we couldn’t possibly contain everything in just one session with her. Today we sat down for a second time and quickly jumped into not-so-common running questions. Her answers help to navigate some of the deeper topics often overlooked in the running world like burnout, personal success, and self-worth. Take a moment to read through her advice to strengthen and refine the way you think about your running self. Defining Failure and Success Success is often disguised as an individual that seems to have no failures. This construed image can lead us to believe that experiencing failures takes away from possible successes. We may think that more failures equal less successes. Nothing could be further from the truth. Not only are failures a common part of our journey to success, they are a crucial part, even a required part. Failures show that we put forth effort and that we are working towards our goals. In that sense, a failure can be looked at as a stepping stone, just as important as any other step in the process. “Failure is not an indication of your ability,” says Evie, “It’s often to do with effort, technique, or structure.” This is important to remember as you work toward your life and running goals. Failure, whatever that might mean to you, is an opportunity to look at your effort, your training structure, or even your goals. Making necessary adjustments will allow you to be even better. Ask yourself what success means to you. As you dig deeper, asking questions that allow you to discover your motivations, you will find that success is more than a one-time event. You are constantly achieving throughout your journey. With each training session, each healthy meal, each positive thought, you are succeeding. Navigating Burnout We are all at risk in losing the passion for the things we love to do. When it comes to running, Evie gives some good advice on recognizing burnout, including understanding the contributing factors, and how to recover from it. One of the first things to realize about burnout is where it comes from. Especially for long distance runners, the event itself can appear to be the final point of exhaustion. However, burnout—that total physical and mental exhaustion—develops in the lead up to the race. The big race day can even mask the burnout with its abundance of endorphins. It is important to plan rest periods for the time after a race. The work that has gone into training for your event is more than just the physical aspect. Balancing family, work, and training is a huge scheduling challenge that comes with its own endurance test. For many runners, scheduling a vacation that begins right after a race is a good way to make sure you get the rest that you need. Remember that resting isn’t cheating. You shouldn’t feel guilty or lazy for taking time off. Recovery is just important to your growth as the training is. Don’t be afraid to take a week or more off after a 5K or a month or two off after a marathon. You know yourself best. When running feels like a joy again, and not a chore or a responsibility, it’s okay to get back out there. Positive Self-Reflection As you continue to set goals for yourself and work on your craft, always give yourself grace. Remember that we can be our own worst critic. Are you treating yourself how you would treat your best friend, your child, or even a stranger? Have self-compassion. Know that you aren’t your sport. Set goals that push yourself and make you happier, like having a balanced week or a good relationship with your family. Try the new golden rule: treat yourself as you would treat others. As you do, you’ll see your failures quickly transforming into successes. So often, we don’t know what we don’t know and sometimes we just don’t know how to start a conversation about important and dynamic topics.  These podcasts are meant to start a meaningful conversation so if you would like to see additional guests share another viewpoint around any of these topics please send an email to angela@pawsconsulting.com with your comments and suggestions for future podcast guests and topics.  I absolutely cannot wait to hear from you and look forward to your insights and thoughtful comments.  I will cite all articles referenced in this podcast in our show notes so you don’t have to stop what you are doing to scramble to find a pen and paper.  So with that, let’s jump right in.  2:54 TOPICS Dr. Greenhill is here with me today to help us discuss leadership and help us improve our leadership skills through gaining a better understanding of inclusion and diversity and helping us to better understand what diversity and inclusion really means, what it looks like and how can each of us make a positive impact on the world around us.  More diverse teams produce really cool ideas and more profitability. For example, A Forbes article from January 2018 shared current research stating, “…gender is not the only side of the story. Companies with more culturally and ethnically diverse executive teams were 33% more likely to see better-than-average profits. At the board of directors level, more ethnically and cultural diverse companies were 43% more likely to see above-average profits, showing a significant correlation between diversity and performance.”  5:00 As busy professionals, hiring managers, or members of a team, how can we be positive influences in our workplace? 6:00 How to find and tap into talent pools outside of your current networks. 8:30 What is unconscious bias?  11:20 How can we become more aware of our own unconscious biases’? Harvard Project Implicit is one free tool. 12:17 I want to share some information about your column, Diversity Toolbox, for Today’s Veterinary Business magazine. One of my favorite articles is from August of 2018, titled Fairness and Equity for all.  In it, you talk about applying an equity framework to decision making to help mitigate disparities.  Can you share some examples about how we could apply equity frameworks in our daily lives? 14:00 Discussion of grit and resiliency. 16:00 In preparing for this podcast you shared with me some journal articles that we could share with our audience.  One that I found to be particularly powerful, insightful and quite simply found myself wondering how I was going to restrain myself from reading the entire, 6-page article to our listeners was an article by Alice Eagly and Jean Chin published in the April 2010 American Psychologist called Diversity and Leadership in a Changing world.   They provide a wide-ranging overview of this topic in an interesting and easy to read format. I want to share their final thoughts with our listeners.  “We advocate ending the intellectual segregation of considerations of gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality, and culture from mainstream leadership theory and their treatment as a separate domain of study. To counter this segregation, we recommend that scholars of leadership contemplate how their theories might better address diversity concerns and that scholars of diversity study leadership because this knowledge has considerable potential to illuminate issues of race, ethnicity, gender, and culture.” 20:15 Lisa’s Podcast Diversity and Inclusion On Air; discussion on Intersectionality and integration of leadership and diversity research. 21:22 And finally, I’d like to talk about an amazing idea raised by Quinetta Roberson in her Ted Talk, The science of inclusion.  She reminds us that the term inclusion can still be exclusionary and maybe a better term would be fusion.  The energy generated from fusion produces one of the most powerful impacts in the universe, so maybe we can use our diverse experiences to have a powerful impact on the world. 24:00 How do we implement diversity and inclusion from a leadership perspective? Act Right. Practice behaviors that actually respect one another’s humanity, identity and value the differences we each bring to the table. 26:26 Authenticity, think about bringing your whole self into a room.  Be very clear and do some self-reflection on what skills you have and that you bring to the table and honor that as well.   27:28 5 Questions Segment Q1. We know that the most successful and happy people have a morning routine, what do you do each morning or evening that sets your day up for success? “Hit the snooze button, walk my dog a few miles, and have our quiet time.” Q2. What's your definition of Success? “Success for me is Impact” Q3. What's your definition of Happiness? “Happiness is a good glass of red wine, excellent piece of chocolate cake, a good movie or a good book, and time with my family.” Q4. What do you know now that you wish you would have known 10 years ago? “I wish I would have known about authenticity 10 years ago. To be able to do what I want, say what I want and to really own it.” Q5. What do you think is the biggest issue facing busy professionals today? “Work life balance and work creep.” Love/hate relationship with technology. In this episode I share with you a powerful message that will improve your life. This exercise is a key factor in creating success. Stan Medina is a first generation business owner and entrepreneur and soon to be a first generation multi millionaire. He was raised by a single mom in a bigger city which was a big change of environment. Learning to adjust and cope without a father figure, he relied on self education and the streets. Growing up in the wrong environment and with the wrong educational information, life was difficult. At the age of 16 he became a father of twin boys and soon after decided to drop out of high school, changing his life forever. He searched for employment everywhere but everything turned out to be a dead end. After many declines he finally got an opportunity in the autobody industry and decided to dedicate his life to being a father and provider. A short time later he decided to become a business owner and get involved heavily in the custom Lowrider scene. Award winning Stan Medina made his mark on the custom scene by being recognized as one of the top custom painters in Texas. But he knew that there was much more to life. He knew there was more information to learn. Since then he has indulged himself in leadership, business, marketing and real estate investing. While on this journey he also decided that the community needed more active supporters. So he became the president of Corpus Christi Evening Rotary and currently serves District 5930 as an assistant district governor and Young Professionals . As the President of Certified Collision Works LLC and a real estate holding company, his approach to business is different and unique. He pursues business as a sport and an opportunity to help others. His journey also includes managing a household along with wife, Elaine Medina and 8 children. What is the perfect mindset for start-up business owners who are just beginning to operate?   Highlights of Lessons Learned: Early Days The work ethic that Danijel developed during the early days propelled him to where he is today. Danijel’s drive and passion come from his love for people and his desire to help them. One of the marks of entrepreneurs is being able to recognize opportunities within their own needs.   Measure of Success Success requires consistent work, consistent sacrifice, passion and drive, and ambition. Quitting is a lifelong thing and working through is temporary. Money is not a driver and money is not a goal. Although in the beginning, money is important because it allows us to pay our bills and pay our staff and grow, if money is the driver for your business then you’re doing it for the wrong reason. Life will beat you down, business will beat you down and it will spit you out and you have to go over them collect yourself and wake up tomorrow and be stronger, better faster, more resilient and go at it again and again and again.   Building your Business One of the most important parts of any anybody’s life when it comes to building a business is seeking out mentors. If the business is strong, valuable, viable, look for investors, look for people that can propel you and help you grow. A stronger team is going to propel you faster than trying to fill every gap yourself. Therefore, as a business owner, you have to be open to delegating tasks to other people.

Success Habits You Must Develop   Inspiration for Success Success does not come from nowhere and neither does the inspiration for it. If you are lucky, you may have already found the reason why you keep doing what you do. For some, this inspiration is yet to come. Inspiration is important because it’s the thing you hold onto during the long road to success. It comes in many forms: life experiences, encounters, books, certain events, and, for most people, a successful person. We have a very special show today and an incredible guest, someone who I’ve been looking to get on the show for a while now. About three months ago at one of my Mastermind meetings, I had the opportunity to sit down and meet with him. We got talking about his new book and habits and whatnot. I asked him to come on the show. It took me a while to get him on the show because he’s always traveling and he’s got a busy schedule. We’re going to talk about his new book and habits and some amazing content here today. Habits of Success and the Success of Habits One thing about habits I want to say is that habits are the basis of your success, and they could also be the basis of your downfall. Despite the importance of habits, few people know much about them or even how they work. Habits are thought about negatively — usually they relate to gambling habits or drug habits — but there are a lot of good habits and things that we should incorporate into our lives, such as exercising regularly or how we think or meditate or what we do and what we eat and how we treat our friends and our family. The magic of habit lies in its repeatability. By consciously and continuously exercising such habits, we form the core and foundation of the success we dream of having.   To be aware of our habits and how powerful they are and what subtle changes we can do to affect the trajectory and the path of where we’re doing is just an amazing thing. I have an amazing guest today. Please stay tuned, right to the very end. He’s got a great offer for you. Episode 19 – Be Willing to Make Sacrifices for Success “Success is like anything worthwhile. It has a price. You have to pay the price to win and you have to pay the price to get to the point where success is possible. Most important, you must pay the price to stay there.” Vince Lombardi Many people want what success will give them. For some people, it is the fancy cars, luxury homes, exotic vacations, stylish clothing, or dining experiences. For others, success is owning their own home or having the ability to send their children to college. You must define what success means to you. You will hear people talking about success and what they are going to achieve. There are only a few who will be willing to pay the price. What? There is a price for success? Let me reframe this for you; there are critical choices you must make to reach success. “You do not pay the price of success; you enjoy the price of success.” Zig Ziglar Many people want success. You will notice that few are willing to make the commitment, investment, and sacrifices to achieve great success. You have to be willing to be committed for the long haul and know that you need to make short-term sacrifices to get there. Step Out of Your Comfort Zone You will have to step out of your “comfort zone” that sense of security to try new things, gain more knowledge, and even take some risks. Your comfort zone is a familiar place. You know what to expect and things are pretty good where they are but not great. You do not want to rock the boat and disrupt what you have going on. The only problem is that it is predictable and does not stretch you. You no longer anticipate what your efforts will give you because you already know. Maybe you have thought about change but are fearful of failing. If you never fail in this world, you are playing so safe, you will not learn and grow and become the person that you've been meant to be. Imagine what life would be like if you if you could wake up each day anticipating and being excited about what you get to do and how much you get to stretch yourself into who you need to be. What I notice is people don't want to raise their standards or make the sacrifices. They want the easy path. Another excuse I have heard is that I'm too busy. “Busy” is the buzzword of society but I don't believe when people say that they're busy that there truly being productive they may be filling their time with a number of other things. We make time for what is important to us. When we say we're too busy, it means we don't care or somebody or something is not important to us. I've even heard people say success is too expensive why should I even bother. If you really want something, you will do what it takes to be, do, or have it. Some of the sacrifices you may need to make are: Spending less time watching television or socializing. I know for the business owners who are into networking you may be alarmed but I want you to consider for a moment are you socializing just to go out and have drinks and eat or you being selective in your social activities to network and build relationships. I've been to a number of networking events where many are just there to socialize and they're not being intentional. Could you be spending this extra time working on yourself by developing new skills or gaining more knowledge? Cut back on eating out. Could you be making meals at home versus eating out frequently? Look around your home there are probably several things around you that you could do without. De-clutter and sell things off. Consider selling some of the things to help you invest in yourself. If you're married and have a family, share your dreams with other people and talk about the sacrifices that may need to be made to accomplish your dream. Don't forget to find out what others dreams are so that you can help support them as well because as you support them they will support you. When those sacrifices come up and everyone is focused...

In other words, we must have an AIM, and we must aim at the target if we would hit the bull's-eye of Success.Broadly speaking, we may say that success is that condition which gives us a “life more abundant” through growth in Health, Wealth, and Happiness. This, of course, can only be obtained through the constructive and creative power of right thinking. And it is this power which carries us directly to a study of all the departments of mind and body.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/inspirational-living/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
