Thank you for joining us. Over the last few weeks, we've created a lot more content about food, including heavy metals in spices, pesticides, fertility nutrition, and more. That's because food is so important to us. Not only does it provide us with nutrients, but food also brings families and cultures together. However, many foods that we love can cause some of us to experience health issues when eaten too often. Thankfully, there can be a good balance between enjoying comfort foods and good health. That's why we're so excited to be joined today by Chef Laura Rodriguez. Chef Laura Rodriguez is a holistic chef and backyard farmer who specializes in autoimmunity. To get to truly know yourself, what you want, where you want to head, it can lead you to very uncomfortable and unsettling positions at first, but Emma always held space and made time for me. I always felt very comfortable talking and opening to her. I never felt judged – which was one of my biggest fears –nor rushed to take action – another point that I value a lot.-Elise Palmeri, Project ManagerTo me, heart-led is both about being of service to others, contributing to their lives and being of service to ourselves. I've been in many group coaching containers, and whilst in their own right they provided me a space to learn many tools that have brought me to where I am right now, the one thing I felt was missing was the intimacy, was the space to be truly heard and supported for our individual, unique gifts, rather than fitting into a certain framework. I'm Emma, a Thought Partner, Author, and so much more. For a long time, I made the work I do 'wrong' because I wasn't your traditional coach (click here to explore my work in one of my free meditations). I tried on many shoes that didn't fit. I've come to realise that what I can offer you is something different that, if I'm honest, I still find difficult to put into words. My work is something that you come to understand through experience. This is my third time running this community, and I wanted to create this offering again because I've seen how powerful it is when you open a space for people to be truly heard and seen. There are no requirements to join this container, you don't need to have your s**t together (because I definitely don't), be earning a certain amount of money, or have a certain profession. The invitation is for individuals who want to live their life and contribute to the lives of others from the heart. This invitation is for you if you'd like to be part of a community that supports and uplifts you in all that you are. Your challenges are welcome here without judgement, your celebrations are welcome here without envy (clearly I was hungry whilst recording this

In this episode we interview Laura Rodriguez (she/her) and Mary Traylor (they/she) of Justice Outside. Growing up in LA, Mary always loved the outdoor access it had to offer. They also enjoyed experiences at an immersive outdoor camp, which influenced their future. Prior to becoming the Director of Programs at Justice Outside, Mary was an educator. This opened their eyes to the lack of outdoor access kids of color had - even though it was in their own backyard. Laura grew up in rural California on a dairy farm, where she spent her childhood running around and exploring the outdoors. Even after all that, it wasn't until 29 that she started camping and truly took on outdoor recreational activities. Like Mary, Laura also noticed that people that looked like her weren't participating in these same adventures. For her it was about the duality of what is real about representation and lack of access to the many ways to participate in the outdoors. Now at Justice Outside, they're helping advance racial justice and equity in the outdoor and environmental movement. If you've ever wondered how your small actions can help provide welcoming outdoor access for all, then this one's for you! Life in Motion is brought to you by Actual Outdoors. They help build beautiful brands that highlight the approachable and authentic parts of outdoor recreation. Said simply - they “keep it real”.
