“Suck it, bitch.” The Blind Rage Podcast continues Sleazy ‘70s month with Meir Zarchi's original 1978 cult classic I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE, a film so notorious that it not only spawned its own subgenre, but inspired dozens of copycats over the past 40+ years. Jennifer Hills, a New York City native, rents a cabin in the remote wilderness of Kent, Connecticut. There, she plans to spend the summer months crafting her first novel. Almost immediately, she is accosted by four ne'er-do-wells, who decide they're going to spend the afternoon brutalizing her for their own sadistic pleasure. But Jennifer is no shrinking violet. After recovering from multiple assaults, she retaliates with some of the most iconic revenge sequences ever put to celluloid. A simple, but effective plot that continues to stand the test of time.

Mark and Haikim discuss the 1978 exploitation film I Spit on Your Grave (AKA Day of the Woman). Directed by Meir Zarchi, and starring Camille Keaton, Eron Tabor, and Richard Pace, this violent piece of low-budget filmmaking has become one of the most notorious films ever made due to its extreme content and controversy. In this episode, they also talk about 1970s cinema, low-budget filmmaking, and horror remakes. Enjoy!

New York 1991 (Self Defense/The Siege, 1983) schon etwas gefälliger.

Terry appeared in the 1978 classic horror film (Day of the Woman, a.k.a. I Spit On Your Grave) and also was a producer on the 2019 sequel I Spit On Your Grave: Deja Vu (which I prefer to call Day Of The Woman: Deja Vu) In this hour long conversation, Terry and Stuart talk about what it was like to be a huge part of Day Of The Woman (a.k.a I Spit On Your Grave) as well as what fuelled him to direct the documentary Growing Up With I Spit On Your Grave (which should actually be called Growing Up With Day Of The Woman (if Meir Zarchi got his way!) Whatever title you choose to do with. Its a cracking documentary, that you should check out whether you are a fan or have seen the 1978 revenge thriller or havent seen it.

CW: Due to the nature of the content of this film we do talk about rape and violence against women. Film maker James Raynor returns to help us discuss the 'video nasties' of the late 70s and early 80s, where because of legislation a whole raft of horror films were made illegal, resulting in fines and in some cases prison sentences for those who owned them and distributed them. The 1978 film, I Spit On Your Grave, by Meir Zarchi and starring Camille Keaton is one of the most controversial of these films and really does earn that reputation. We try our best to discuss the film, the history of the act and try to generally provide content for what was a pretty significant time in the UK film industry history and the history of censorship.  All these and more on Adjust Your Tracking! This week we’re discussing Meir Zarchi’s 1978 film I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE aka DAY OF THE WOMAN! Warning: This film is about sexual violence and we discuss it at length. I Spit on Your Grave stars Camille Keaton as Jennifer Hills, a writer who rents a summer home to finish her first novel. After a group of four local men sexually assault her and leave her for dead she seeks vengeance. This is a very intense and scary movie that we feel is extremely relevant today. Depictions of violence are not romanticized, they are not sexualized and they are hard to watch.
