No more school, friends to play with, exams to prepare for, extracurricular activities cancelled and inability to see loved ones who are not resident in the same house. We cannot assume they will all cope very well. It's important we pay attention to their feelings, acknowledge these feelings and help them through this period.   In today's podcast, Bimbola and Jo were joined by Phinnah Chichi who is a Parenting Teens Educator, Consultant, Speaker, School governor and Mentor and the conversation was geared towards how we can help our children cope better during the lockdown and ensure they come out of with a sound mental health. It is a weapon of mass destruction. It is so common yet many employees are reluctant to talk about stress at work due to the stigma attached to it and people still think they will be seen as weak if they admit they are struggling. It is also known that culturally as a people, we would rather manage very stressful situations in the workplace and even hide under the disguise of 'i'm praying about it' rather than get some help or even better GET OUT of that bad situation. It doesn't matter how long our children spend time with their friends in school, they still yearn for more in the form of a play date or sleepover. This in itself is a good indication of how our children interact socially and form lasting friendships at a young age. Whilst the children are excited and look forward to play dates and sleepovers, their parents on the other hand might not be overly excited about this for various reasons which is quite disappointing to the children. Forbes list pastors, poor congregation, let's talk about it. As we know, tithes, offerings, voluntary contributions, appreciative cash exchange, among others, are ways the church gets funds channelled towards the propagation of the gospel of Christ. The question most are asking is are the wealthy leaders the only beneficiaries of this and to what proportion? No pastor should become wealthy by worldly standards strictly from ministry income. Raising children in the 21st century is one of the most challenging responsibility for parents. The world has moved from what it used to be. Information is everywhere and the big question is who is informing your children about diversity in all its forms? Join us in this discussion via instagram, twitter, facebook or email.
