What a great season! What a great team! Our beloved Detroit Lions had a season for the ages, and we just can't get enough. We just had to have one more week of Detroit Lions football. Rob Sims was a national champion and team captain at Ohio State before being drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in 2006 to fill in for the recently retired Seahawks Legend Steve Hutchinson. It was not until after he got traded to the Detroit Lions that not only his NFL career took off but his entrepreneurial as well. In Detroit he became good friends with NFL Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson and shortly after they both retired they created Primitiv, a Michigan-based cannabis company that is focused on finding alternative solutions to consumer recovery. In this episode, we discuss the life and work of musician and Sufi teacher Hazrat Inayat Khan with composer/pianist and Inayat Khan scholar Michael Harrison. Hazrat Inayat Khan (Urdu: عنایت خان رحمت خان) (5 July 1882 – 5 February 1927) was an Indian professor of musicology, singer, exponent of the saraswati vina, poet, philosopher, and pioneer of the transmission of Sufism to the West. At the urging of his students, and on the basis of his ancestral Sufi tradition and four-fold training and authorization at the hands of Sayyid Abu Hashim Madani (d. 1907) of Hyderabad, he established an order of Sufism (the Sufi Order) in London in 1914. By the time of his death in 1927, centers had been established throughout Europe and North America, and multiple volumes of his teachings had been published. Michael Harrison (called "an American maverick" by Philip Glass) forges a new approach to composition through just intonation (the system of tuning based on pure harmonic proportions). His works blend classical music traditions of Europe and North India. He is a Guggenheim Fellowship and NYFA Artist Fellowship recipient. Michael creates dedicated tuning systems for many of his works. He pioneered a structural approach to composition in which the proportions of harmonic relationships organically determine other musical elements such as pitch, duration, and dynamics. He also invented the "harmonic piano," a grand piano that plays 24 notes per octave, documented in the Grove Dictionary of Musical Instruments. Lieber Herr Hegel, sich so über Andere zu stellen, hilft uns nicht. Gerade das Eigene als "Wissenschaft" zu bezeichnen, das Fremde als "Primitiv" - ist das nicht eigentlich Ausdruck der eigenen Primitivität? Wir brauchen was Neues, als die Manifestation von geglaubter Überlegenheit. Aber gut, es ist zumindest ein Beitrag zur Philosophiegeschichte, eine kleine Sprosse auf dem Weg zu einem breiteren Verständnis des Ganzen. Danke für den dennoch zeitlosen und geistreichen Beitrag. Episode 496 Rob Sims is a First Class Father and former NFL Offensive Guard. Rob was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2006 NFL Draft after playing his college football at Ohio State where he won the National Championship. Episode 90 MiCannaCast Cannadave & Groovee talk about the recent experience at GreenHouse of Walled Lake Cannabis kickoff of the Summer event. A new state just joined the adult-use market on the east coast Connecticut. Cannabis company Lume is advertising at a music theater in Mi. All this and more on the latest episode of MiCannaCast GreenHouse Event Greenhouse hosted a cannabis kickoff event with different vendors and brands there. You had Primitiv Brand Calvin Johnson (Megatron) & Rob Sims showcasing the new product and taking photos. For Cannadave it was a dream to meet Megatron, one of his all-time favorite football players and now entered the cannabis space. We did pick up three strains of Primitiv which are Sensi Star, Runtz, and Peanut Butter Breath. Primitiv has flowers available in a couple of locations, definitely check them out, the Runtz was pretty darn good. You also had Darren McCarthy there repping his brand and promoting and taking photos as well too. You could purchase either of these products at GreenHouse which is 21 and up. They had a CBD company and Element Extractions as well too up there. Later in the evening, they had a firework show too, which we didn't stay for but enjoyed a couple of hours there. Shout-out for putting on the event and drawing the cannabis crowd. Connecticut The newest state to join the adult-use market is Connecutire, they're the 19th State. This is great news and exciting because it's the 4th state this year alone to join the adult-use market. They do have some weird cannabis laws drawn up with the legislation. We go into more detail in the episode about the laws. We are starting to inch closer to over half the United States will be an adult-use market 21 and up can consume cannabis. Lume Cannabis Lume Cannabis just inked a deal with DTE Music Theater out in Oakland County Michigan. We have been to Lume cannabis before and it wasn't our favorite spot. It's cool to see the advertising come mainstream because it's just not billboards or social media now, it's entire concert venues. We hope with this happening the legislation doesn't continue to bring up the cannabis billboard ban. Therefore cannabis companies should be able to advertise there as well as concert venues. If you can advertise at a venue you should be able to do a billboard. It will be interesting to see where else the cannabis community will be able to advertise in the future. Episode 492 Calvin Johnson Jr is a First Class Father and Hall of Fame NFL wide receiver known as Megatron. Calvin is a part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2021 and will be enshrined in Canton, Ohio later this summer. Calvin was the #2 overall pick of the 2007 NFL Draft out of Georgia Tech.
