Seit über 20 Jahren firmieren Alexander Hacke (Einstürzende Neubauten) und die Künstlerin, Musikerin und Filmemacherin Danielle de Picciotto unter dem Namen Hackedepicciotto. Continuamos con nuestros Especiales Navidad. Esta noche tenemos nuestro segundo volumen de los especiales Navidad Atmósfera, es complicado, porque, siguiendo nuestro orden cronológico, abordamos el programa del 22 de marzo en el que teníamos previsto y ya elaborado, nuestro programa especial habitual de cada año con el adelanto del festival LEV, pero la pandemia lo anuló todo. En su lugar ese primer programa de pandemia, que tuvimos que hacer desde casa, lo dedicamos a las voces femeninas. El programa siguiente, el del 29 de marzo, y muchos otros más, Atmósfera se sumó a la lucha contra el Coronavirus ofreciéndoos una serie de programas muy especiales hechos desde casa para los que pedimos a artistas cercanos a Atmósfera que nos enviasen dos de sus tracks favoritos (suyos o de otros artistas) y una reflexión sobre la situación de crisis que estamos viviendo. A bank holiday special of material from our recent Japanese Playback event held at Spiritland in London, featuring the one and only Clive Bell. http://www.clivebell.co.uk/ --- CLIVE BELL is a musician, composer and writer with a specialist interest in the shakuhachi, khene and other Far Eastern wind instruments. He has travelled extensively in Japan (where he studied the shakuhachi ­ or Japanese flute with the master Kohachiro Miyata), Thailand, Laos and Bali, researching music and meeting local practitioners. In 2011 he played with Jah Wobble at Ronnie Scott’s and the Glastonbury Festival, and toured the UK with Mugenkyo Taiko drummers (contemporary Japanese drumming). Clive is the shakuhachi player on Karl Jenkins’s album Requiem on EMI Classics, and the final two Harry Potter movies. His shakuhachi playing was featured in a live solo session on Radio 3’s Late Junction, and in 2013 on Radio 3’s In Tune. A musician who regularly joins David Ross, Sylvia Hallett and Peter Cusack in improvisation duos and trios, Clive Bell has a substantial recording history as both a solo artist (his solo album, Shakuhachi: The Japanese Flute was reissued in 2005 by ARC Records) and as a composer for film, TV and theatrical productions (Complicite, IOU, Whalley Range Allstars). Kazuko Hohki, Jah Wobble, Jaki Liebezeit, Harry Beckett, Robert Lippok, David Sylvian, David Toop, Jochen Irmler of Faust, Paul Schütze and Bill Laswell number among Clive Bell’s collaborators. As a record producer, his latest release is Taeko Kunishima’s Late Autumn on 33Jazz (2011). Based in London, he writes regularly for the music monthly The Wire.

CLOT Magazine got the chance to talk to musician Robert Lippok and video artist and live performer Lillevan during 2016 edition of Unsound Festival: Dislocation (Kraków, Poland) where they were presenting Gletschermusik together with musician Askat Jetigen from Kirzystan. Robert Lippok is an avant-garde German musician and visual artist and composer which has been an influential player in Berlin’s thriving experimental music scene from a very early age, with bands like To Rococo Rot for which he is best known, while his solo work has been featured in the renowned label Raster-Noton. Lillevan an animation, video, and media artist, was a founding member of the visual and music group Rechenzentrum (1997-2008) and has performed and collaborated with many artists like Christian Fenesz and Vladislav delay Gletschermusik is a dislocated audio-visual performance that blends art, science, and folklore. It uses the sounds and images of Central Asia’s melting glaciers as a source of inspiration to promote a dialogue and raise awareness of the deterioration of the planet, climate change, and environmental problems. Retreating glaciers, rising sea levels, and shrinking lakes are some of the consequences of rising temperatures and changes in weather patterns. This is particularly important for the people of Central Asia, whose water supplies depend on the region’s glaciers. The rising temperatures, global warming and the hole in ozone layer (which luckily is beginning to close according to dr Ryan Neely, Lecturer in Observational Atmospheric Science at Leeds and will be “healed” by 2050) are the three main agents taking part in the melting of the glaciers.
