Democrats love promising a "peaceful transition of power," but history—and their actions—tell a different story. When Obama handed the reins to Trump, he made a https://theblacksphere.net/2024/11/the-myth-of-obamas-power-a-manufactured-legacy-and-misplaced-allegiance/ while his DOJ quietly sharpened its knives. Four years of investigations, conspiracies, and obstruction later, the Democrats finally ousted Trump using their COVID-19 coup, complete with ballot-stuffing, midnight counting, and media complicity. But their https://theblacksphere.net/2024/11/lets-not-let-democrats-forget-joe-biden/, leaving Biden with the unenviable task of ushering in yet another "peaceful transition"—this time back to Trump. Biden's economic policies aren't just unmoderated; they're unhinged. The Strategic Petroleum Reserve is https://ycharts.com/indicators/us_ending_stocks_of_crude_oil_in_the_strategic_petroleum_reserve, energy prices are volatile, and Biden's administration seems to think solar panels is the answer. And what of the military? It's in shambles. Recruitment numbers are dismally low, matched by our stockpile of weapons. We can thank Biden for his proxy war in Ukraine and his failure to manage the Middle East, where Iran and its proxies, including a resurgent Al Qaeda that recently took control of Syria flex their muscles. In short, the world is a much less safe place under Joe Biden.  And then there's the Department of Justice, which under Biden and Obama transformed from an institution of law to a political cudgel. Public trust in the DOJ is at an all-time low, but Biden isn't addressing the problem—he's doubling down, reportedly planning to pardon key players in his administration to shield them from accountability. The Irony of Democrat Spending If Biden's administration were a business, it would be Enron. Trillions of dollars are unaccounted for across multiple agencies. The CHIPS Act and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) were boondoggles, diverting taxpayer money to pet projects that failed to deliver. A recent exposé from Project Veritas revealed EPA adviser Brent Efron https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CblV6EwzKxg about funneling money to tribes, nonprofits, and states as quickly as possible before Trump's team could intervene. “It feels like we're on the Titanic and throwing gold bars off the edge,” he said. Despite inheriting the worst administration in history, Trump's first 100 days will be epic. And the transformation of America back to greatness will begin on Day One. A short of adrenalin is about to hit America, and it will last 4 years, challenging the boom of the Clinton years. If Trump performs as I predict (and he will), Democrats will be hard-pressed to win major elections for the next decade at least. In short, Trump doesn't care about the so-called “peaceful transition”. He has a man on his team who can replace NASA. And he appointed others who are equally talented in their own ways. Gone are the DEI appointments, and freak show of the Biden administration. This transition team knows it's at war with Biden. And like the election, this too will be an easy victory.    Oh the irony of Trump ever sitting down with media again and how this was the Democrats' goal. As I have stated today and many times, the media is dying a slow death. X is the #1 media outlet in America. Media by the people. The platform that deplatformed President Trump is now his biggest defender by being blatantly OPEN. Trump is doing regular media now. Not that long ago, MSNBC's undynamic duo from Morning Joe begged president Trump for an interview.  How must it feel for Trump to know how much the media participated in targeting him, and now they beg him for interviews. As all the Leftist media networks suffer, their only lifeline is getting him to sit down for an interview. And when he speaks, the added irony that they can no longer "fact-check" him, because the American people trust Trump more than they do the media itself. Next is the summary of the interview. When it comes to Americans, he tells us what his plans are. Sure he's more coy with our frenemies, but with us, he's a straight shooter. The fact is, I don't agree with everything Trump says or does. [SEGMENT 2-1] Lessons Learned 1 - Peaceful transition   Democrats love promising a "peaceful transition of power," but history—and their actions—tell a different story. Biden's Legacy of Chaos Let's take stock of what Joe Biden is leaving behind. Start with Bidenflation:- https://finance.yahoo.com/news/national-debt-tops-36-trillion-000208774.html, up $13 trillion since 2020.- Interest rates that https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/inflation-cpi, particularly for small businesses. Biden's economic policies aren't just unmoderated; they're unhinged. Storytellers With a Message  Lorrie Grant https://www.lorriedgrant.com/ ()Have you ever heard your parents or grandparents tell stories of their life and experiences? I have. I was raised by my grandparents for a good part of my life. I still remember sitting on the porch with my grandfather as he would reminisce. I loved those times and I still hold them precious. I share those stories of his and some of my own with my grandchildren (my kids have heard them all before and just roll their eyes now)!  But my grandkids, I wanted to share the stories with them so, perhaps, they might just share them with their children and grandchildren when I'm no longer here. Why am I bringing all of this up? I'm so glad you asked! Our guest today is Lorrie Grant. Lorrie is a natural born story teller! I've read some of her blogs and they are amazing! You get sucked right into the story! Amen! Lorrie is also an author of three published children's books, https://amzn.to/3ot6l8U (“Why is There an Elephant in My Basement?”) https://amzn.to/3otCkWm (“Little White Flies”) and https://amzn.to/3z49pgG (“I Am Beautiful Too.”) She is also a podcast host!  Praise God!  Her podcast is called, http://www.storytellerswithamessage.com/ (“Story Tellers with a Message.”) Amen! My first question I always start with is this. Other than that brief information I just shared, can you tell us in your own words, “Who is Lorrie Grant?” I read on your website that you almost failed Freshman English in college. Is that right? Can you tell us what first led you into writing? When I read that on your website, that reminded me of those times with my grandfather, which is why I opened with those comments. Those really are precious memories. I know you're wanting to pass them on to your children and I think you're onto something with these books. Tell us about the book, https://amzn.to/3ot6l8U (“Why is There an Elephant in My Basement?”)  What is that about? What is the point of the book? What is the take away for your readers? What age group are you targeting with your books and your writing?  Who is it you are writing for? The book, https://amzn.to/3otCkWm (“Little White Flies,”) I've heard of “Little White Lies,” but what is the https://amzn.to/3otCkWm (“Little White Flies”) about? Your book,https://amzn.to/3z49pgG ( “I Am Beautiful Too,”) this is a book about self-image and things like that, correct?  How do you communicate that message with this story? What is coming up next? What books are you working on now? You are also a podcaster!  Tell us about your podcast, http://www.storytellerswithamessage.com/ (“Story Tellers with a Message?”) How long have you been podcasting? What is the format and do you have guests? Lorrie, this is all so interesting. I feel I could talk to you for hours about this stuff. It's really great. Lorrie, this has been great. Where can someone order your books? Are they on Amazon? If someone wanted to get in touch with you, to ask a question or maybe to do an interview like this, how can they do that? How can someone get in touch with you? Folks, as I started this interview, I told you a story about my grandfather telling me stories, and how I have passed them and some of my life stories and experiences down to my kids and grandkids as well. That is what Lorrie Grant has done through her writing and her stories are so insightful and they will make you laugh and say, “Me, too!” to some of them. They really are great and they are very easy to read in just a couple of minutes. I urge you to go to her website and sign up to receive her blog posts. Be sure to check out her podcast by clicking the link below as well. And you most definitely need to order her books. Those links are down below as well. Order copies for your kids, your grandkids, the next door neighbor kids and even for your Sunday School classes. These books are great for reading to a group or individually...

This week on Chasing Happiness, we welcome Lorrie D. Grant! Lorrie is a storyteller with a message: She's always looking for an adventure and has a story to tell. She captured a few of her life's lessons a few years ago simply to save them for her two daughters. This unexpectedly led to her creating a blog, which led to the writing of her first children's book, "Why is There an Elephant in My Basement?" released in 2017. The following year she released her second book, "Little White Flies," and her third book, "I am Beautiful Too," was released in 2019. Lorrie has a background in Corporate Business Operations but is most passionate about making a difference in the lives of others. Looking to Share Your Story? FEEDBACK An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green QUESTIONS 1. Hello Jenn and Amanda! Thank you so much for all of your recommendations. I find myself looking forward to hearing a new episode all week! I’ve always wanted to travel to Ireland, but haven’t been able to make it there yet. I was wondering if you could recommend for me a book that will teach me some of the regional history of Ireland, bonus for a multigenerational family saga where someone emigrates to America. Some books I’ve loved with a similar feel to what I’m looking for are: The Rebels of Ireland by Edward Rutherford, Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett, Mexico or Texas by James Michener and Angela’s Ashes by Frank McCourt. I enjoy fantasy, police procedurals, steampunk, YA, cozy mysteries and historical fiction, but I’ll read anything you recommend! Extra bonus points for a great audiobook option. Thanks so much! -Jennie 2. Hi guys! Thanks so much for this podcast, I love it! So, I’ve only just recently started reading and watching horror. When I was a kid I was frightened very easily and stayed away from horror entirely, and up until this year I was under the impression I was still easily spooked. Turns out not so much! I have watched so much horror that other people have assured me is the scariest thing they’ve ever seen and I’m just like… uh??? No??? What’s scary??? I watched and read Haunting of Hill House recently and loved both but didn’t so much as feel vaguely unsettled when reading/watching it even in the dead of night. Same goes for It and the other Stephen King books I’ve read, the Quiet Place, and bunch of other horror movies. I really like Pan’s Labyrinth and all of Del Toro’s films (though again, wasn’t scared), as well as It, and The Haunting of Hill House. I just haven’t been scared. Do you guys know of any books that will just scare the living hell out of me? I’m really only interested in horror books with some sort of supernatural element by the way, I don’t have much interest in horror rooted in reality. Also, please don’t recommend Bird Box. I haven’t seen or read it, but to be perfectly honest the premise just does not interest me in the slightest. -Katharine 3. Hello Ladies! I find myself really wanting to read some sort of romance, but just can’t find the right thing. I really loved Heartless by Marissa Meyer and Simon Versus the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. I enjoyed Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell. And I tried When Dimple met Rishi by Sandhya Menon, Upside of Unrequited, and Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, which were okay. I also read The Selection which I did not like. I’ve read several mediocre adult romances (mostly stuff that I got for free, which may be where I’ve gone wrong) and do have Ramona Blue, Song of Achilles, Kiss Quotient, and The Wedding Date on my list (taken from previous recommendations here and on other Book Riot podcasts). I seem to do best when I stick with YA, but would definitely be open things more in the adult realm. Audiobook is a plus. No sexual violence please, I’m okay with passing mention, but nothing explicit on the page. Thank you! Love the show! -April 4. Hi ladies! I’ve recently started to dabble in some dark thriller reading, the book that set me on this path was Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell. I loved the darkness of the kidnapping and the imprisonment, and the things she forced upon her prisoner (no judgement guys!) and the twists and innerworkings of the antagonist. Also enjoyed The Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine, where the bad guy got what she wanted and ultimately deserved all at the same time. I think I’m leaning more towards the bad guy winning. After years of reading fluffy, happy romances I’m really enjoying delving into this dark side of books. Not too much into the mystery/detective work aspect but more into reading something that is just so unthinkable and messed up and leaving me shocked due to the unspeakable acts these characters do. I’ve tried the Death of Mrs. Westaway and while it had some aspects I liked, it missed the mark for me. Our Kind of Cruelty by Araminta Hall was an interesting read but kind of fell flat, would’ve liked a bit more action. Also liked The Secrets She Keeps by Michael Robotham. I have the Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena & The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks on my to-read list. Thanks! -Andrea 5. I just finished The Magpie Lord by KJ Charles after having it on my tbr for a long while (from get booked maybe?) and loved it. I think I have also realized a favorite relationship trope and would love some other romance recommendations that feature: a straight laced, discreet, or serious character who “gets in over their head” with a livelier partner who distracts them from work, compels them to be honest, and/or otherwise coaxes them into opening up or stretching boundaries. (In this book the partner is quite assertive in doing this – A-OK, A+ – but a flirt might do this more subtly as well.) I’ll certainly be looking into this author further and other examples include Bound with Honor by Megan Mulry. The Ruin of a Rake by Cat Sebastien is also on my radar. I like historical settings obviously, but contemporary might be interesting for a change too. (Don’t know yet if they qualify but The Hating Game and Fight or Flight are also on my radar.) LGBT or straight is fine but I would prefer a light tone and no trigger warnings. Thank you! -Jessica 6. Hi! I’m looking for some funny, witty, dry humor and sarcastic audio books. I have read Heartburn, a gentleman’s guide to vice and virtue, and where’d you go Bernadette. Each of these had me laughing out loud as I walked through the grocery store. I love fiction and would like to stay with that. The more back list the better. I borrow my audio books from the library. Newer books either aren’t available or have a long wait list. I dropped my goodreads list but I’m terrible at tracking with that. I track with your journal but I threw a few of some of my recent books on there. Thanks so much!! -Jessica 7. Dark. Creepy. Surreal, but written in plain, clear prose. I love a Southern Gothic. I loved Night Film, Murakami’s After Dark. Also loved The Woman in the Window and all of Gillian Flynn. I don’t mind a dark tale, but prefer to avoid graphic depictions of violence toward women/children/animals. -Gina BOOKS Milkman by Anna Burns Brooklyn by Colm Toibin The Amityville Horror by Jay Anson The Twisted Ones by T. Kingfisher (rec’d by Jess Woodbury) Wallbanger by Alice Clayton Odd One Out by Nic Stone An Elderly Lady is Up to No Good by Helene Tursten, translation by Marlaine Delargy Tampa by Alissa Nutting (tw: child abuse) Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston It Takes Two to Tumble by Cat Sebastian Bridget Jones’s Diary by Helen Fielding The Wangs Vs. When it’s my turn to pick a title I want to pick a book that would be fun but also easy to find a main dish to pair with it. It would be great if the book could have a lot of good in it. Please nothing violent, dark or steamy. Thanks! -Sarah   2. Hello! Long time listener and lover of your show and bookriot! My friend is getting to reading and she asked if I knew any good books about sharks. She throws a huge shark week party. she's wants her book club pick in June to be in theme. Nonfiction and fiction are both welcome. Thank you! -Purplehairedbooknerd   3. My best friend is getting her PhD in climate science and generally has her head buried in academic journals. However, she has a soft spot for Harry Styles and really likes books about famous musicians/actors/princes meeting and falling in love with "normal" girls. She's read Public Relations (loved it), Backstage Pass (not so much), and The Unidentified Redhead series (liked them). Do you have any other recommendations for her birthday? Julie   4. I love the movie The Fifth Element and I'd love to read books with that same feel. I read over 100 books a year from all genres so I would be really interested to see if you pick something completely new to me. If you want to see what else I've read I'm Shelbycat on goodreads. Thank you! -Sarah   5. I love your show. I listen to all the current episodes and am going through the episodes I missed before I found it. My request is for a book telling the exact same story but from different points of view, so that everything you thought changes. I have read Gone Girl and The Summer House, but any other ones you can come up with would be great!! Thanks! Cindi   6. The past year I’ve been dealing with a bad relapse of my depression and I’ve tried reading a lot of self-help, inspirational, and soul searching books but my problem is that so many of them are TOO happy for me that I can’t relate enough. I did really love Hyperbole and a Half but I would like something a little deeper. Like a grumpy cat person living their best life just making it through. -Stephanie   7. I am starting an audiobook club at the library I work at and need some help planning out what to read the first year. I want of mix of fiction (mystery, SFF, thriller, etc.), non-fiction, adult, YA, and even Juvenile, but with a focus on characters and authors that are LGBTQ+, #ownvoices, or POC. Oh, and nothing longer than 8 hrs, please (I'm afraid I'll scare them away if I do anything longer at first). Thanks for always recommending amazing books on the podcast!
