Gilligan versucht bei Apple TV mit "Pluribus" (2:59) an den Erfolg seiner wegweisenden Serie und des ähnlich erfolgreichen Spin-offs "Better Call Saul" anzuknüpfen, wählt dafür aber eine Serie, die kaum unterschiedlicher sein könnte. In dem Beinahe-Einpersonenstück muss Rhea Seehorn in einer Welt bestehen, in der es nur noch die Pronomen "Us" und "We" gibt. Holger, Michael und Rüdiger versuchen sich einen Reim aus dem Sci-Fi-Drama machen, dessen Inhalt bis zuletzt ein großes Geheimnis geblieben ist und erklären, warum "Pluribus" vielleicht nicht das nächste "Breaking Bad" ist, aber für sich dennoch ein Serienereignis des Jahres 2025 bildet. Danach bleibt Stefano Sollima mit "Das Monster von Florenz" (49:14) seinem Faible für reale Crime-Geschichten treu - allerdings geht es dieses Mal um das unorganisierte Verbrechen. Zwischen 1968 und 1985 wurde ein Serienmörder zum Albtraum aller Pärchen, die sich um Florenz am Wegesrand auf ein Schäferstündchen einließen. Der Täter wurde nie gefasst, so dass das titelgebende Monster in Italien einen Stellenwert wie der Zodiac-Killer oder Jack the Ripper bekommen hat. Auch der Vierteiler gibt keine endgültige Antwort, hat aber einige Theorien parat und widmet sich besonders einem Thema - Gewalt gegen Frauen. Was mal wieder die Frage aufwirft: Ist das ausbeuterisch oder eine wichtige Serie? Cold-Open-Frage: "Was halten wir vom deutschen Januar-Start von HBO Max?"

L'italianissima miniserie di Stefano Sollima, "Il Mostro", ha raggiunto il primo posto tra le proposte internazionali più viste nel mondo su Netflix, quindi non solo in Italia, ma in tantissimi altri Paesi. Dal Festival del Cinema di Roma, che feeling non ne ha manco per sbaglio, tra chi va alle proiezioni e poi torna a casa a cambiare il pannolino, parte una puntata condita di lamentele, doppiaggi mancanti e serie mediche coreane tutte uguali. Settimana mica male: si parte col monumentale Jafar Panahi e il suo Un semplice incidente, film clandestino e potentissimo, presentato in anteprima con tanto di intervista pubblica (e applausi meritati). Poi arrivano le uscite: Bugonia di Yorgos Lanthimos rifà Save the Green Planet ma perde il confronto con la follia coreana, Frankenstein di Del Toro su Netflix è gotico e ben fatto ma pure molle e senz'anima, Springsteen – Liberami dal nulla cerca di fare il Dylan e invece fa il cofanetto (che però è una bomba). Gran finale con House of Dynamite di Kathryn Bigelow: un missile nucleare in arrivo, 20 minuti alla catastrofe e tre punti di vista per raccontarli. E settimana prossima tocca a Dracula, Io sono Rosa Ricci e altre quattro bombe. Letteralmente.

Fan-Service: Wir ziehen in den CIVIL WAR, passen auf ABIGAIL auf und sind uns fast sicher: EVIL DOES NOT EXIST. Aber nur fast. Was Chris, André und Schröck leider nicht so sicher abgeben können, ist ein Eindruck zu ADAGIO - ERBARMUNGSLOSE STADT, denn den haben sie noch nicht sehen können. Nichtsdestotrotz soll auf einen neuen Film von Stefano Sollima natürlich aufmerksam gemacht werden. Gleiches gilt dann auch für REBEL MOON - TEIL 2: DIE NARBENMACHERIN, der war vorher leider auch noch nicht sichtbar, so dass er lediglich erwähnt wird. Handfeste Streaming-Tipps gibt es dennoch und zwar in Form von HANS ZIMMER: HOLLYWOOD REBEL, KANDAHAR, THE NIGHTINGALE und DEEP, derweil die Mediatheken unter anderem solche Titel wie PLATOON, DIE ÜBLICHEN VERDÄCHTIGEN, IT FOLLOWS, TEUFEL IN BLAU oder THE HUMAN VOICE anbieten. Den Vogel schießt dann mal wieder ARTE ab, wo es obendrauf noch fast alle Filme von MICHAEL HANEKE zu sichten gibt. Das darf man schon mal ganz positiv hervorheben. Nur sind die Drei damit noch lange nicht am Ende. Als alte Festival-Möuse ist es ihnen wie immer eine Pflicht und die reine Freude über ein paar Festivals zu sprechen. Zum Beispiel über das Red Lotus Festival in Wien, das nächste Woche stattfindet oder das Hard:Line Festival in Regensburg, das letzte Woche stattgefunden hat. Mit jeweils kurzen Talks zu Filmen wie DEMIGOD: THE LEGEND BEGINS, KILL YOUR LOVER, IN A VIOLENT NATURE oder STOPMOTION. Und dann steht eben noch mal wieder das FANTASY FILMFEST ins Haus, was heute in ein paar Städten beginnt und nächste Woche in ein paar weiteren Städten endet. Dafür wollen wir Euch unter anderem ein paar Tipps wie CONCRETE UTOPIA oder SUITABLE FLESH mit auf den Weg geben, ein paar Filme wie FUNERAL oder RIDDLE OF FIRE kurz diskutieren oder eben auch über all das sprechen worauf wir uns freuen. Zum Beispiel LOVE LIES BLEEDING, STING, THE EMPIRE, THE ROUNDUP - PUNISHMENT und ja auch IN WITH THE DEVIL. Il sedicenne Manuel, figlio dell'ex boss della Magliana Daytona, si infiltra in una festa orgiastica omosessuale, per raccogliere informazioni scandalistiche su un ministro a scopo di ricatto. Il ragazzo, però, non è un criminale e le cose andranno storte, creando un inseguimento ai suoi danni da parte di alcuni poliziotti corrotti, intenzionati a liberarsi di un pericoloso testimone. Solo gli ex complici del padre, forse, potranno salvare la vita del giovane. Con il suo inconfondibile stile realistico, Sollima racconta ancora una volta una storia di criminalità e redenzione, dove il confine tra bene e male è decisamente labile e l'azione si svolge in una Roma cupa e quasi apocalittica, devastata da un incendio gigantesco che imperversa costantemente sullo sfondo. Uno dei migliori film italiani dell'anno appena terminato, dove Favino, Mastandrea, Giannini e Servillo (che non mi è mai piaciuto) dominano senza riserve, in un contesto estremamente duro, ma dove c'è anche spazio per credere nel futuro. Da recuperare per tutti, appena uscirà in home video.
