Transcript Jason: [0:23] Welcome to the Jason and Scot show this episode is being recorded live from e-tail Boston Trade Show on Tuesday August 22nd 20:23 I'm your host Jason retailgeek Goldberg and unfortunately Scott wasn't able to join us so you're getting twice the Jason for the same great price which if you think about it is double the value. And while I know it's disappointing to miss Scott we're making up for it by having a way better guest I'd like to welcome to the show Sabrina Callahan who's the VP of e-commerce at Sam's Club. Sabrina just completed a panel here at retail and titled humanizing your brand through effective storytelling Sabrina welcome to the show. Sabrina: [1:04] Thanks for having me Jason. Jason: [1:06] We are so excited and I'm hoping this ends up being a permanent replacement for Scott. Sabrina: [1:09] I think I'm up for it I've heard him so I think I could do it. Jason: [1:12] I feel like in the first five minutes you're way more interesting and pleasant than he then he he's kind of a curmudgeon. Sabrina: [1:18] I'm not I'm just not even going to say anything but just know that I'm ready. Jason: [1:20] Smart so before we get into all the meaty topics I always like to let listeners kind of get to know the background of the guests a little bit so did you work for Sam's Club straight out of the Cradle how did you come to Sam's Club. Sabrina: [1:34] Surprisingly no not right out of the Cradle. I've been here for the last four and a half years and Jamie rule mark my five year so I'll get the coveted 5-year badge but kind of backing up all the way to, my background I was born and raised on a small farm in Kansas. Jason: [1:53] And in Kansas a small farm is like 100 acres right. Sabrina: [1:57] Yeah exactly so I grew up on the farm grew out in the field by somebody dad does all of the crops and my uncle has the dairy so I was out on the tractors driving the semis trying to not get myself. Killed you know all of the fun things that come along with Farm life and left went to University of Kansas. Chuck that's exactly right that's Rock Chalk. And then graduated in journalism and then made my way down to Dallas so as much as I love Kansas and small-town farm and and everything I wanted to kind of experience, bigger city and been in Dallas ever since and we love it there so worked at a start-up in the beginning my entire career has been in digital and marketing and brand and social media and everything that goes kind of along with that storytelling and driving digital performance so I was a star but at startup and then I went over to Hilton corporate and was there for about seven years loved it there I think I. Jason: [3:00] Are you okay this event is a tan on Hilton property. Sabrina: [3:03] I know listen you're not supposed to say it don't say it. Jason: [3:07] To our loyal Hilton listeners were sorry. Sabrina: [3:10] But what if he found out I was staying at the Hilton and walking all the way over. True loyalty rate my shoes weren't word up for it today but no I was at Hilton for about seven years I loved it there and really grew up there and they took a they took a lot of. [3:28] You know bets on me and allowed me to thrive I was there in the e-commerce space really when they launched the pilot of e-commerce, and and got to work with some of the biggest hotels, in the world with them and a lot of great opportunity got to start managing people you know they kept growing me and investing in Me And It ultimately LED I was in the e-commerce space for the majority of the time and then It ultimately LED to driving and leading the social media strategy and Innovation for Hilton so it was across all 15 Brands and at the time. There was a lot of opportunity to kind of pull it together and say what's the role of social media, for a for a big company right not just hey we're going to go post but how do we think about the tech stack how do we think about the member feedback to drive business impact how do we think about, content and how do you think about influencers in the role of influencers in the partnership and understanding the rules of the Ft c-- all of the fun things that come along with that and then how do you make sure that, the Brand's all understand the value of it and lean in the right way so I got to present Hilton's first Evers social center of excellence and then that led to, a lot of opportunity that opened me up in the social space and I was on maternity leave with my third baby, when Walmart came knocking. Jason: [4:50] Wow congratulations on that by the way. Sabrina: [4:52] Yeah three babies is a lot especially we're in August right now and school starting so it's slightly chaotic around my house but still good so. No so then Walmart and Sam's Club came knocking and I didn't think I would leave Helton but I really had some fantastic conversations during my interview day and a lot one of the last ones with was with mr. Tony Rogers and have you met him before he's. Yes so you know you know. Jason: [5:26] Put my life in his hands on an airplane before. Sabrina: [5:29] Oh yes good luck yeah. That's good you're here to talk about it so that's good no and so we. We hit it off and they offered me the job and and four and a half years later it was a big giant move in a bet for me but it was obviously well worth. Jason: [5:49] Very cool and you've actually had some really interesting responsibilities at Sam's waiting up to your your turn responsibilities briefly talk about some of the projects you've been in. Sabrina: [6:00] Absolutely so his pitch if he will at the time was come build a 60 billion dollar brand with me. Now how can you say no to that so that was a fantastic first start and so coming in really we built the brand together I learned I think about 10 years worth of information from him about Brandon, three short years but we developed the brand so the look and feel the tone of voice the target audience we revamped all of the marketing channels including you know site email everything digitally and then really launched social media right so Facebook Instagram Pinterest, YouTube you name it all the things that have to do with social media including the influencer strategy again and and moderation and care so. We did some really fun things I think it was a bit of a whirlwind so our first brand campaigns got to do you know the Super Bowl with Kevin Hart all of the the fun things that come along with leading you know a pretty awesome brand. Jason: [7:09] That is very cool and for listeners that might not be familiar Tony was the former CMO at Walmart and Sam's and the next time he calls you I have a feeling free jewelry is going to be part of the offer because he. Sabrina: [7:21] Yeah I should make a list of things that I want. Jason: [7:26] It should be a long list but be my suggestion that he's at signature Georgia. Shout out to tell me I know he listens every week very willingly and so in the current role you are responsible for All Digital at Sam's Club and is that a thing is digital a fad at Sam's Club or. Sabrina: [7:44] We just a Fab yeah who probably probably gone. Yeah no big deal yeah is super super fat yeah so I along with two of my peers we lead the e-commerce business and so I'm basically the upper funnel piece, so working really closely on the traffic strategy so what types of traffic re driving in and then how are we actually moving that traffic down the funnel so you can think about that of all of the Cross category, you know Stories the homepage anything that really allows us to show the breadth of what Sam's club offers so not just the categories and Merchandising but also the membership the Sam's cash that we offer the Travel and entertainment all of the things that come along with an actual full membership not just retail only. Jason: [8:32] Yeah and there's all kinds of interesting Dynamics to me it seems about marketing em in a membership environment versus a. Traditional, wide open and retail business so I assume you're trying to get people in the funnel for membership and at the same time you're trying to get members in the funnel for individual transactions. Sabrina: [8:54] Absolutely right the bigger the base the more sales you can expect so it's a balancing act right in terms of we need them to be purchasing things but ultimately we need more members and we need them to renew right so at the end of the year would it becomes renewal time we want them to see have seen the value throughout the year that they say oh this is a no-brainer when we're on the brand side or I was on the brand side a lot of it was we're trying to build brand Advocates because there's nothing more powerful than someone saying you've got to join Sam's Club I joined and I love it, so that was the the sole purpose of we're building Advocates we're building brand passion we're getting them excited and every piece that we're pushing you should be pushing our value prop of the overall membership. Jason: [9:35] Awesome so before we dive any deeper in that I need to know what your favorite Members Mark product is. Sabrina: [9:39] Oh okay it's really hard to just pick one so I think I'm actually gonna pick two. One of them because one of them is very seasonally relevant and one of them something we do all year long so the seasonally relevant one I'm going to say. There's so many things I would say probably the members Mark beach towels and or pool towels I've had some of the same ones. For since I started working there they are thick their giant and big and they have a fantastic value to Market and we just keep I keep adding every year this year they didn't kid towels to with awesome designs on them so I'm a big fan of mild that's you know anything about you're advocating for something I advocate for a lot of things there and not because I work there but because I genuinely like them and then the other one that I love that I try to get everyone to do is we have these Members Mark southern style chicken bites. And you just pop them in the airfryer and sad sad to say is good and bad it's sad to say I give my kids then like once a week but they're addicting some always like well they're just for the kids and then I end up eating them all for dinner to they're just really good. Jason: [10:43] I'm well familiar with all those phenomenons and I'm going through an airfryer phase right. Sabrina: [10:48] Few are so easy. Jason: [10:49] I'm I gotcha yeah it seems and I thought you were going to go with salty snacks I mean that's the easy answer and then you curveball Benny with the beach towels which as a parent I have learned you need way more beach towel. Sabrina: [11:03] It's important we've got a pool and we always have kids coming over and using all the beach towels so it feels like it becomes a full-time job and then you can't find them all and I don't want to go spend a ton of money to replace them, and so we either have them on hand or they're not that expensive to go by Exo. Jason: [11:19] Now I don't know if you checked with the home this week but your pool has probably evaporated it is hot in Dallas. Sabrina: [11:23] Oh my gosh it is hot I think it was like 109 on Sunday. Jason: [11:28] Yeah good call to come to Boston. Sabrina: [11:29] Yeah yeah I walked around this morning it was so nice you Dallas is brutal yeah I did you ever see the thing that went viral with the guy who he was pointing out the temperatures and then he showed McKenney and it was like a hundred thousand degrees he's like everyone in McKinney's dead. That's how it really feels. Jason: [11:46] It does and pro tip is someone that does a lot of business travel we probably don't want to mention to our family that it's more comfortable here than it is at home. Sabrina: [11:55] I already texted them like sorry. Jason: [11:58] Just saying be careful so I have a new and it's so Members Mark is a of course the famous owned brand for Sam's Club. And I won't put you on the spot with any proprietary information but it's a on its own a very large brand I think Walmart in the past has disclosed that it's over a 10 billion dollar a year brand so so remarkable the Walmart, there's a number of own Brands but of course the one most associated with Walmart in my mind is great value, and so I'm now in a murdered with a new Great Value product that's only available in Canada. Sabrina: [12:32] And it'll only available in Canada what is it. Jason: [12:34] And I just imported two cases of them to my home in Chicago Great Value ketchup flavored potato chips. Sabrina: [12:43] Oh my gosh things are off we got two cases. Jason: [12:48] Do not recommend you you try them but here's the thing there was you guys just had your earnings call congratulations it was a very very successful quarter. And Doug mcmillon to see ya. I don't know if he did it on purpose or on accident but in the investor car he talked about a trip to Canada where they made him try catch, potato chips and he kind of said it's the only Walmart owned brand products that he doesn't want so now my thing is I show up at every meeting. With a bag of these potato chips. Sabrina: [13:22] I don't see him in here. Jason: [13:24] I did not I didn't think about bringing him to Boston and you have to like it's a pain too. Sabrina: [13:28] Okay packing with potato chips in an airplane. Jason: [13:32] Chick early well. Sabrina: [13:33] Get interesting yeah well now I'm intrigued yeah so I'm gonna have to drive it. Jason: [13:37] Procure some. Sabrina: [13:37] Yeah I can't wait to try them yeah. Jason: [13:40] Come away if Doug comes for a visit just saying. Sabrina: [13:42] Yeah perfect you don't as much as I'd like to be picking my kids will probably even like two. Jason: [13:46] Oh my God my son my son would definitely the more like something's unappealing to my palate the more likely. Sabrina: [13:53] I'm a to be fair I've seen my kids dip potato chips in ketchup. Jason: [13:56] Yeah of course. Sabrina: [13:57] So it seems to actually make a little bit of sense yeah. Jason: [14:01] Um so zooming into Sam's a little bit like obviously in this last decade one of the huge changes is this whole mobile, um and I imagine it's fundamentally changed how people shop, the you know you hear a lot of stats about even how much people are using mobile in the store in the club so like I'm somewhat curious I don't think please don't be offended, don't think of Club as the earliest adopter of digital not saying specifically but all club like. Hilton was impacted by digital before Club was right and Circuit City was probably impacted by a digital a little before. Sabrina: [14:44] Sir. Jason: [14:45] Of our club was so that being said like, is like how has the Advent of mobile changed how you think about marketing and customer experience at Sam's today. Sabrina: [14:55] I mean it's extremely important so you're absolutely right at Sam's Club when we look at that the performance and understand where people are headed that's where we focus our time and energy Ray where do they want to be where they going how do we get ahead of it and provide a good experience which requires us to know where they're spending their time and we've seen a pretty significant shift. Into Mobile and app experience specifically and so what we've what we've done is try to get a better understanding of what's the data and the behavior that they're taking within the app so let's just focus on specifically app right because there's desktop there's mobile web and then there's a and if you think about it there's trial barriers to downloading an app on your phone right you don't just immediately say yes I'm going to put the app on my phone so there has to be a reason and a journey to move them from mobile web into actually you know committing and putting the app on their phone. [15:51] So I think there's different ways to say well what's a trigger to get them to download but we know one of those giant triggers is this can I go I so everyone loves scan ago if you've done it you know and and you have to download the app and actually. You know use it in the club to be able to make the purchase through scan and go what's interesting that you might not know is if you hope if you've got scan and go and overall digital and you're looking at it the numbers are pretty strong if you take out scan ago and you just look at online digital penetration only about a third of our members or shopping online so so to me I'm like well hang on a minute they have the app on their phone so we broke through a massive barrier already of loyalty they're purchasing with us but they don't see the value of shopping online. [16:41] Unless they are shopping on the app in the club so the opportunity becomes massive I got two thirds of our own member base for good acquisition and new members coming in if I just even start with our member base how can I give them a reason to see the value of pulling up the phone and building a relationship through digital when they're not in our clubs and I think that's what we've been trying to focus on and get to so really then it becomes the traffic drivers. [17:07] Right so how are they coming and how do we get them to ultimately make that decision to move from Google to the app or to mobile web to add to cart and ultimately ultimately make that conversion and we're really taking a lot of time and focus around the data so for instance they come in on the homepage did they come in on a category shelf page that has a bunch of items did they come in on a specific product page did they come in because they wanted to check their Sam's cash total what drove them in how much time are they spending did they bounce or did they stay did they look at things what was their scroll rate did they spend a lot of time we really focus on what it is they're doing what types of things are finding worth adding to their carts and then we start figuring out okay how can we drive bigger baskets your category penetration or introduce new member benefits like we were talking about earlier rate so if I've seen that you know Jason's come in and he comes every five weeks and he buys the same 15 things to stock up as house well how do I show him the amount of Sam's cash he's earned. [18:15] In between that five to six weeks to get in to come in and then give them things to potentially you know get them excited to purchase through digital using that hands cash or whatever it is that that you can create those triggers using the data so ultimately focus on on driving more app frequency and. [18:33] Also say as we continue to see the shift to mobile and to app I think members are at the center of everything we do so remember obsessed and as we see what's working and not working with what's working we can lean in, great okay they love it keep doing it if it's not working we know about it so every week we start off the week of one of the members saying what do they not like about us last week right so we look at not only the MPS but we look specifically at the word for word feedback so through member surveys the customer call center the social media I mean we're all pulling it up looking at the Facebook groups and looking at the comments and saying hey we could have done better here and so as you think about that and you put that lens of app and digital this is working this is not working how do we think about our roadmap and our prioritization to provide a better experience to remove, the things that are giving them reasons to not want to shop online with us and pick the big ones and and start to move the needle which ultimately is part of the reason we saw an 18% complex you too. Jason: [19:37] That's amazing and I do I want to double click on the data but before I do I just want to stay in the app thing for one more SEC because I couldn't agree more, people way underestimate the difficulty of getting customers just to download the stupid app. And in many cases I have a lot of clients that like don't have quite the, Market awareness of Sam's and they'll ask about building an app in before I let any of my clients build an app I take them to an Apple store and we sit down and Apple Store and. Talking thing you'll notice about half the people in an Apple Store are men and women that are my age or older and they're in line at the Genius Bar because they do not know their iTunes password. And guess what you can't do if you don't know your iTunes password and download an app. And so there is just this this huge barrier and the. For normal retailers the mortality of apps is huge two people download it only use it once like the abandonment rates are super depressing so for a lot of people like you go like. Explicitly focusing on app downloads is often a mistake. Um I don't actually see Sam's heavily promoting the act of downloading the app what I see you guys promoting are the. Benefits and the problems that are solved with the app is that I'm assuming that's an intentional decision. Sabrina: [21:00] 100% right because I think if you go into the club which I think is again, the true power and value of a true end-to-end Omni retailer right and and that's our challenge always is when you go into the club you feel the club, right the the first experience coming in like you're like this is awesome and where do I start right and it's a full brand experience and you feel the I feel you see you touch you experience the items. And digital you don't necessarily have the ability to do that so the challenge becomes how do you bring your brand to life, through digital and you have to know those touch points and I would say. You're exactly right is is it's really hard to do say go download our app it's another thing to say hey do you want to get out the door quicker. Jason: [21:47] Get this line. Sabrina: [21:48] And I would tell you I would say 10 out of 10 people are like yeah they're not going to say no I'd like to stay in touch in line the waste my time no they want out and it's actually really yeah. Jason: [21:57] Desert home with the with their their their significant other. Sabrina: [22:01] That's very true like listen okay we'll say nine out of ten, 10th person's a sad sad person but either way the the opportunity becomes okay we'll give them a reason valuable enough for their time and attention that it's worth downloading that app on their phone I think what's been interesting to is navigating the conversations rate because when you see the value of app and you see the growth and app me like yes app app and everything is focused on app you tend to forget the actual member journey to get to the app right so they may have started on desktop, when you know they were sitting at work and me and they were trying to figure out where to start for dinner that night that desktop Behavior may have said okay actually I was looking at something at work today and now I'm pull it up on my phone and they went through mobile web and then ultimately they shop with us a couple times and now all of a sudden oh I didn't realize they had an app that app would be easier right so there's a journey and you can't forget everyone else that that is experiencing it before they made the decision to put that app on their phone and so you it's hard to prioritize and forget about about everyone else you have to understand there's a journey in between. Jason: [23:08] No I couldn't agree more in before I go on I do want to just one shout out to scan and go because it's amongst my favorite digital experiences because unfortunate truth of many digital experiences is, they're awesome and members our customers love them but they often are problematic for us as retailers IE often, it's taking something that the customer used to do and shifting it to something we have to do right so you think about online grocery, the customer used to get the bananas now we're getting the bananas right if those are home delivery the customer used to drive those home now we're driving those home scan and go is one of those rare things where it both increases customer satisfaction or NPS score, and the member is doing something that we used to have to do for them so I feel like that just amazing, on the data side like obviously one reason a lot of people like to get people in the digital echo system and using the app is because you do get all that wonderful data that, describe activating that's one of the areas where I feel like clubs have an unfair advantage because of the membership structure right like most of my retail clients they talked about this capture rate and what they mean is what percentage of my customers do I have any idea what they bought. [24:25] Right right because a lot of people buy with cash or they shop anonymously or, they pre-shop digital and then they you know paid on a different credit card and there's this whole, you know family amalgamation all these complications which is why if you walk out of this room right now there's 47 CD P vendors all trying to help retailers, solve this data Quagmire and I'm not saying it's not still hard at membership-based retailers but you do kind of have an unfair built-in Advantage like you pretty much know. What and how much each members fans and on what. Sabrina: [25:00] And I know they're out there I might just stay in this room and close the door. No but there's a reason why they're booming right because it's a it's a lot of work to figure out I would say yes coming into the membership space I was, very excited and shocked by how much data we really truly had every time you know member makes a purchase we see it so it allows you to kind of. Really understand what it is that's driving their trips how often they're coming where they're shopping what are they buying you can also start to understand their typical journey and behavior, so I'll give you two examples of the way we're kind of leveraging data I know I already talked about app but let me kind of put it into real life for a second. [25:46] One of those is and I'm talking specifically to like end-to-end experience so one of those I'll start with on, specific promotion or sales or event right what gets exciting is you can put this money into Market you can understand where they're coming in so first of all to drive the traffic and you're looking at a year-over-year confer a marketing campaign okay great so the traffic was there and hit the pages you needed it to hit well now you can say okay what they do next right and you can start to say all right did they move from that page to the next page and so you can see the analytics team has done fantastic jobs not only of having the data but making the data. [26:30] Readable digestible and actionable is a completely separate, right so there's a lot of work that happens behind the scenes of late great I'm looking at a table of a massive amount of data but what am I supposed to do with this to make a business decision and what they can do is they can take that and they can build it out for me across the funnel so they'll say okay traffic was up well and then it moved to the next page to it so it actually moved from let's say the home page or landing page we built to the Shelf page with all of the categories and then it moved from that category page to the product page and you can see all the product pages that were tagged with in that event in that campaign, then you can and it has your year-over-year growth of each so you can see the continued strength in growth throughout the funnel and then it moved to check out and ultimately her to cart and ultimately to check out and so you can see okay but you can also see when it's off right what happened okay so something's off you can say oh well that's because X percent of our items ran out of inventory in the first two hours because maybe we didn't estimate, demand properly right and so now all of a sudden okay we'll stop marketing that so go back up to your upper funnel and stop talking about those because you're making some angry members because they're falling off here and not because there's not strength in the funnel, it's because it's not actually available when they tried to go add it to their car so we got them all the way to the PDP and then something breaks. Right so it makes it makes it really easy to be able to do that in a way that allows us to actually pinpoint the issue. Jason: [27:57] Side note that used to be way harder to do in the store circular let's hard to erase the printing when you run out of. Sabrina: [28:04] Yeah it's not it's not exactly it's not exactly possible okay so and then other than the the funnel I think the other thing is understanding kind of their behavior on the pages, so if you think about let's just take the types of traffic coming in where they going and is it working raise so if they're coming in through paid marketing or if they're coming in through CRM or they're coming in through SEO where are they going and is it actually doing its job, right and then once it lands how to use the data up to optimize the right message you're putting in front of them at the right time so, not only just on personalization right so let's take our home page you have, frequently ordered items you have no inspired by a recent views things like that but you also think about well where is it they're clicking on that page the most and how do you take that that, that knowledge and that data and say okay here are the things we need to be putting in front of them based on that traffic driver that came in so we can connect the message, and make sure that we're taking advantage of that quality traffic so that we can actually move them down that funnel. Jason: [29:08] Yeah that's amazing and hearing those two examples it makes me think and hope that we both have kids in school hopefully they become data analysts because. Seems like there's an ever-increasing problem with processing all this data I heard a rumor that Walmart has like seven petrol bytes of data and I don't actually know what a petrol B is, but my seven-year-old tells me it's a big number. Sabrina: [29:33] I don't know what that is either but I'm not doubting it. And you're absolutely right like I think it becomes a if you have so much data right at your hands how do you make sense of it how do you organize it and again make it actionable because otherwise it's just a bunch of days that you're just sitting on and you're not actually doing anything with it to improve the experience, Sokka. Jason: [29:53] Compounding that data problem even longer we have the whole omni-channel, right and you know we used to talk about what percentage of our sales were digital and you know try to get that digital percentage up but increasingly, every customer using digital tools somewhere on the path to purchase and very often they're using physical stuff so how do you guys think about that at Sam's eye. That seems like it makes that whole analytics problem even more. Sabrina: [30:18] Of those it does but it's good right like you don't want them necessarily only shopping in the cupboard only shopping online you want them to think about it and we try to put ourselves, through this Member First mindset. Approach right so what is it that's driving that that needs data that purchase intent so are they just looking for inspiration right they're building their patio where there's getting ready for tailgating so they need a full solution or you know is it they just needed their paper towels or their bananas or their bottled water and on top of that you think about what what's the most convenient way for them to shop at the moment maybe they're on their way home from work and Sam's Club is right there five minutes from their house will they can. [31:00] Hop in because they know that they had a list of they can't remember what was on their list and they're already here so they're just going to do it maybe while they're in there they don't want to deal with the line so we give them another convenient option of scan ago okay well maybe they head home and then all of a sudden that night after Sam's Club is closed they realize they forgot all of the Lunchables for school tomorrow, bummer yeah been there multiple times and also big bummer or you're out of milk and you know your kids are going to cry because they have cereal every morning and now you've got an issue or whatever it is and I think based on whatever situation there and we want to make it convenient for them to be able to choose Sam's Club so you've given them the two options in the club will now you've got multiple options from an online purchase perspective you've got curbside so I'm going to put in my curbside order and I'm going to be able to go get it in the morning when it's ready and it'll be ready just in time or you're going to go you know put in a same-day delivery the next morning and you know you're going to get it really quickly or you can order on you no shipping and get it there in 23 days and you can wait a little bit because you can get free shipping as a plus member so you kind of see the opportunities for us to build around you you remember us have told us was most important to you and what you need so you know what the quality you want a great value you want it conveniently we know that about you so how do we think about all of the different scenarios you might be in and make it as easy as possible for you to choose Sam's. Jason: [32:26] Yeah and I'm assuming those successes and near-misses come up a lot and all that qualitative data on your. Sabrina: [32:34] They tell us yes they tell us they're like you know know but also a lot of times yes it worked. Jason: [32:39] Yeah I worked with a retard once they said there's two outcomes successes and learnings. Sabrina: [32:43] That's exactly right that's exactly right. Jason: [32:46] If that were true I would be a lot smarter than I am so. Sabrina: [32:48] So yeah it's a it's interesting because you see you know from one member of might have been a great experience and the same exact experience didn't work for the next member and it's because it's like well how do we put how do we let them know of all the options that they actually have to shop with us and let them choose the right Journey for them so a lot of it also is an opportunity around awareness right so do they know we have a curbside we just launched delivery not that long ago right so do they even know we have same day delivery I think you then get to the point of in the funnel again is this a conversion issue or is it just an adoption issue or is this an actual awareness issue, right so being able to kind of pinpoint where those opportunities are and the funnel I think is just just as equally important. Jason: [33:31] You know at the beginning of the show you mentioned that earlier in your exams career one of the projects you worked on was the actual Sam's brand which a would be terrifying to me because it's I mean. Is always Gary but then when the blank brand quite literally is the name of an American icon is kind of more. Sabrina: [33:51] Little bit little intimidating. Jason: [33:53] You don't want to screw that one up but when I think of, the sort of original Sam's brand right it was a lot about the store experience right and we've just spent 45 minutes talking about, all the cool new paths to Sam's and a lot of them are digital like do you guys have to think about. What the Sam's Club brand even means to members today in a different way than maybe you you were able to five years ago or ten years ago. Sabrina: [34:23] A hundred percent and I think you know we have continued to evolve with the members to to be able to say hey these are the most important things for them so let's continue to evolve the brand I would say yeah like starting out in the beginning it was really clear and again we used the member feedback to say like if we look at our brand passion index well here are the things that they're talking about and it's not driving a ton of volume and they don't really like it or they're rather neutral okay well when they are talking what are they talking about right both negative and positive and when you've got the - address it and when you've got the positive lean in right and the way you can lean in is on digital, so they not only from all of the marketing channels whether we know we talked about earlier marketing the social media all of those things but it's also on digital in the experience so if you know they like something how do you make it easy for them and bring the brand to life and tell the story so it's not just about again items are merchandising but it's the full membership experience and the ability to say hey like welcome to the club, right I think when we we've identified some of those opportunities when we think about their full Journey so the first year is extremely important to us they become a member. [35:31] If they didn't join in the club how do you make them feel like they're part of the club if they didn't come to a membership desk and say Hey I want to be part of this you might have gotten them through something a non-digital, well we also know that that first 90 days is extremely important and how do you get in front of them and say okay this is awesome welcome to the club and you should be shopping with us digital did you know our Omni proposition did you know the value and convenience that we provide and the team looks at those ways I think one of the things we did was build. [36:03] A digital membership booklet that's like okay we don't really talk about anywhere all of the things that the membership has to offer any more digitally we usually relied on the Associates at the membership desk to do that for us as they're like hey now welcome to the club here's everything you have well when you join digitally you're kind of Flying Blind right so okay I'm here now what do I do right what do I even get and if they don't want to spend a ton of time looking around and or it's not easy for them to find it then how do you introduce the journey that says welcome, look at all this stuff that you now have access to as a member of our club and and really kind of bring that brand to life and feel it even if you can't have your foot in the club so there's opportunities like that where we look for for bringing it to life and I think there's probably many more to go but we use the data and the members to say hey this feels like a gap let's figure out how to address it. Jason: [36:55] I'm in is that the big filter because I. Follow-up question is going to be what are the things that we could expect to see evolve over the next five years and you know we're at a trade show where there's a bunch of vendors that each have a interesting widget that. They want to sell and you every one of them you could imagine use case where that would be really cool and I imagine for someone in your shoes one of the challenges is which of these three hundred things is actually. Going to add the most value to to our members lives right and. Sabrina: [37:27] You're a hundred percent right and which way is the right path and I would say when I talk about Sam's something that I love is that it feels like we run, like an 84 billion dollar startup, and it truly feels that way and one of the reasons it feels that way is because of how quickly we test and learn and you know we work really closely with product and Tech and Engineering with a problem what's the problem we're trying to solve for the number that's what everything starts with right so again back to the member Obsession hey they're saying this is an issue and I think if we could solve it for them it could be really impactful so we give that problem to the product Tech and Engineering teams and they come back with like I think this could be it let's go test, we don't know it might crash and burn but we think this could be a potential path and they do a lot of customer surveys research to say, feels like it's down the right path and could solve for this problem and then they go out and they if it does well great let's try to scale a little bit more maybe move it across some of the platforms and see if it works across desktop mobile web and app maybe IOS and Android different behaviors right and then once they say oh okay no this is actually going to work and they're telling us they really like it we run, and I think that's the way we've done we've always done it is what the members tell us their problems in their pain points it's our job to go solve them for them and then run as quickly as possible and let them tell us whether we figured it out or not. Jason: [38:49] That sounds like a totally sound approach and I know I can't put my thumb on the scale but I hope one of those problems ends up being that I never have to run out of Lunchables again. Sabrina: [38:59] Yeah me too that could be really nice. Jason: [39:02] Significant quality of life. Sabrina: [39:04] My kids would appreciate it. Jason: [39:05] Exactly and sadly Sabrina that is going to be a great place to end it because it's happened again we've used up all our allotted time there are 45 CDP vendors waiting outside this podcasting studio and I've promised them all the time. Sabrina: [39:15] So excited yeah I'll thank you I appreciate it yeah nice of you. Jason: [39:21] But it's been a real Joy chatting with you and we appreciate you sharing a peek inside the covers with all our listeners I hope you'll come back. Sabrina: [39:29] Thank you guys for having me this has been awesome and I've Loved listening to your podcast you guys are extremely entertaining and I'm excited and honored that you guys had me here today. Jason: [39:38] Scot and I both agree that one of us is funny we just don't agree on. Sabrina: [39:41] It's clearly you because I'm replacing him so it's obvious who it is but we won't tell him he'll have to just hear it let he'll have to listen to the his own podcast so he decided not to come to ya. Jason: [39:51] Yeah he definitely does not listen to the show he's like the one person in e-commerce that doesn't listen. Sabrina: [39:54] Perfect yeah oh great. Jason: [39:58] It's been great thanks again and until next time happy commercing!

My relative lostcapacity to remember, communicate. Sometimes I worry about this. How do we goto Heaven when so much of who we are – that is our memories, personality andthe rest - can be lost in illnesses like this? Jesus was here with us and rose from the dead. Why couldn'the just have stayed? Why did God come to us and then leave us? The gospel of Mark says to go out to the whole world and proclaimthe good news, but we also need to respect each persons free will, as god himselfdoes. So how do we find the balance with people from other religions, betweenproclaiming the good news to them with the hope of conversion and on the otherhand respecting their own religion?

Stillnight are a band who sounds much more older and relevant that their relative youth and longevity in the scene suggests.Made up currently of vocalist Danny Sullivan, bass player Tony Rogers and guitarist Kody Thompson, Stillnight are preparing to unleash their debut album Dream State on March 25, tackling the very real issues of melancholy, depression and sorrow. It is a metal album that explores both sides of the musical spectrum, wallowing in darkness but also reaching for the light, all the while exploding from your speakers with a cavalcade of guitar riffs and crushing vocals that only serve to accentuate the delicate subject matter within.Dream State comes on the back of the albums final single Eidolon, an introspective story about love and loss that is delivered from a state of being that only occurs when invested completely in your subject matter. It is an album that should rightfully see Stillnight break new ground sonically and elevate them into the hearts and ears of a musical generation yearning for connection.Sullivan sat down with HEAVY recently to discuss Stillnight's new music."Instrumentally, it's just everywhere,” he laughed when asked to explain Dream State musically. “It's got a whole lot of ambience, which is the main theme of it, and it's kind of focused around the somber, sorrow feelings that you can feel. We wanted to hone in on hat because we feel that's been lacking a little bit in the genre from what we've heard. We haven't heard a whole lot of artists doing what we do. He's got a whole lot going on there. Kody wrote the whole album instrumentally before I joined. There's a lot of songs that are aggressive heavy, there's some that are emotional and laid back but still have that dark heavy feel that makes it worthy of harsh vocals as opposed to just being sung. Then there's a ballad track on there that's different for us but it's one of my favourite songs. I can't wait for people to hear it. There's a whole lot of stuff to listen to. I don't feel like one track is like another in the way that you're gonna get bored listening to it. It's like a rollercoaster of stuff from front to back."In the full interview, Danny runs us through the album in greater detail, the band's songwriting process, finding diversity within their music, biding your time to find the perfect band members, where the band came from, future plans and more.

I just want to talk to you today about faith and I had an experience recently that I wanted to talk about, and I just think it's important to just shed light on how it kind of happens in real life and how we walk that out. So about a month, a month and a half ago, or so I, gosh, I've lost track of time. It goes so quickly, but I had my annual mammogram and it came back abnormal and they said that they saw some sort of, you know, I, I don't know the language they wanted to use a mass assist, whatever, you know, I guess they can't really call it a assist until they actually see, is it actually assist or not? But a mass that was in my breasts that I needed further, further testing on an interestingly, a friend of mine in a group that I'm in, had the same exact diagnosis, if you will, like a few days prior to me getting the same thing. So anyway, she went through some extra texts testing and actually she is a miracle. And what happened with her was before. So she had something going on in her breast. They found something in a rush. She went back for the mammogram, they could see it on the mammogram and from the walk, from the mammogram room to the room where she was going to do the ultrasound, they, it disappeared. They could not find that area that looked like a mass or assist or whatever it is you want to call it. Okay. it was a miracle literally from the walk, from the mammogram room to the ultrasound room, it was gone. So that was amazing. So she had that testimony a few weeks ago and I, you know, just amazing she's I love her, she's a miracle. And that was a miraculous testimony that I know God used to encourage other people. So during that though, I was walking through my own. And you know, I think what's really interesting is that when I got that news that I had something going on, that I needed further testing it. And, you know, we know what they're all testing for. They're testing for the big C word to make sure that it's not cancer. And so we know that that's the loom and doom and, you know what they're testing for, but I just had an overwhelming peace and an overwhelming calm. And, you know, I told that group of girls that I was talking about just, just now about it, because it was so interesting that it was so similar. I just felt like kind of, we were a little bit under attack almost. And so we were all praying together. So the power of prayer is huge too, but we, you know, I D other than that, I just, you know, I prayed and thank God for, you know, the fact that I'm healed. And there was no anxiety, no fear, no. I just wasn't worried about it. I just knew that it was fine and I, okay. I'll go through these extra tests and things. And I think I went for another moment, mammogram and ultrasound, and they verify it, they got more measurements and all that stuff, and they sent me away and then they rescheduled a new they wanted to get a biopsy of the area. So this is about a month, a month and a half in, I guess. So this week on Tuesday as it is what's today, it's Thursday, today. So on Tuesday at two days ago, I went and I got the biopsy and they said it would be about 72 hours. I mean, the most anxious I felt was actually the part where I knew they were going to put the needles in to numb me up because those things are huge. And and wasn't bad. It was fine. I was actually pretty just praying through it. And but I still wasn't had an overwhelming peace, you know, that kind of piece that just surpasses all understanding. They talk about that kind of peace in the Bible. That's the kind of peace I had for the entire time. It really was not something that was on my mind. I just had a feeling, a peace wash over me, and it just stayed with me. And I just wasn't worried. I wasn't concerned. I just knew that it was going to come back benign. So yesterday, which was Thursday or Wednesday, so a day after the biopsy, I got a call and they said, we just want to let you know that it's benign. It's negative. So praise God. Hallelujah. Thank you God. And it's funny because I was telling God on the way, yes. Let's see. Tuesday on the way to the appointment. I was like, Hey God, if you want it to disappear, by the time I get to that mammogram room or that ultrasound room, that'll be an awesome testimony at that. Sure will. But it also obviously will be an Austin testimony if I have to go through the through with the biopsy and it'd be negative in benign. So that's just how I talked to God. You know, I just talked to him like, he's one of my friends or he's my dad, or, you know, he's there, he's all those things for me. He's my counselor. He's a promise keeper, my, my way maker, my miracle worker, he's all those things. So you talked to him, you know, just in the season that you're in, how you, you know, your relationship you have with them. So anyway, so, but for this particular thing, I had to go through the biopsy and it came back negative. Hallelujah. So yesterday at church I was serving in the back and I was what we call the back runner in the back. Just kind of watching the back of house to make sure everything was okay and everybody, you know, everything was going good. And pastor, I guess after worship called me up there and he kind of started talking, you know, it's one of those things you get on the platform in front of the whole congregation. And it's just it's kinda, it's not my favorite place to be, but anyway, I love my pastor. I've been there 11 years and it's just weird to be up in front of the platform when I'm used to kind of serve in behind the scenes. So anyway, he was talking about how, you know, he knew what was going on and just how I continued to serve. I continued to show up. I, you wouldn't have known anything was going on. He talked about, you know, that I always have a smile on my face and I'm always doing what I need to be doing offering to help and all this kinds of things. And he talked about that in the aspect of just that faith, that level of faith that I have in that everything was going to be okay. So it's just, you know, it was just something I did not receive. I did not receive that. I was going to have any bad news. I just didn't receive that at all. So we all know who the ultimate physician is, who the, who has the ultimate say, we know that God has the last word. We know that it's a finished work and that, you know, he said by his stripes, we are healed and that's a past tense and future tense and present tense. It's all of it. So it's art, it's everything it's finished. It's a finished work when he said it's done. It's done. So sometimes in our circumstances, though, we haven't experienced, we haven't caught up with that finished work. And so we have, that's when we have to walk it out and have that faith in the meantime. But what I thought was interesting is I had zero qualms about believing and just knowing a hundred percent that it was going to come back benign, come back negative. I had zero other thoughts, then it was going to be fine, a hundred percent faith, 120000% faith that it was all going to be fine. And it was going to be clear and it was going to be negative. Interestingly though after that, and I'm, I'm grateful because I know that God will use that testimony to encourage someone else's faith. And that's what we're all here for. That's a lot, you know, people say, well, I don't know a purpose says, well, your purpose is to walk out your life and do what it is you're called to do in the way that you're called to do it so that you can encourage people to get closer to God. You can encourage other people's face. You can encourage people through loving them through proving that they have worth and that they are destined for so much more for what God's called them to be. You know, that that's what we're purpose for. So I know that, you know, that was purposed for a testimony, so that, that will encourage another person's faith, that you can still walk things out, knowing that what God said to be true is true. And you can walk that thing out, despite your circumstances, knowing that that's true. But it was interesting because after, as I was home and I was looking in the mirror last night and I was washing my hands, washing my face, and I just heard kind of this, this nudging from the Holy spirit saying, you know what? You knew that that was going to be negative. You had so much faith. You had zero anxiety, zero fears, zero worries, zero concern about it. And you so much so that you were just praying and going on and thanking him for, you know, your health. And you knew that it was gonna be fine. You knew that it was going to be negative. So why can't you then? Well, let me say, you knew this, and this is the Holy spirit kind of nudging me in my spirit. How is it that you can be so faithful and so a hundred percent positive that I'm going to take care of you and that it's to come out negative in an area where you have no control, you have no option to put your hands on it. You have no option to have any control over it. Right? Cause my health related to assist or a mass in my breasts, I have, there's nothing I can do at that point. There's not anything I can go try to do and make, do more of, or do something different or make better, or just put my hands on it. There's nothing I can do. So I am a hundred percent faithful that he's got this. So the Holy spirit was nudging me saying, you know, when it's a situation where you don't have an ability to put your hands on it, you're all in, you're all the way in. You're a hundred percent faithful. You've got it. There's no concern. There's no worry. So he asks me, you know, again, this is in my spirit, this is what I'm hearing. This is what I'm feeling. He's like, so why is it that on things that you do have the ability to put your hands on, that you don't always have the a hundred percent faith that you have on stuff that you wouldn't have. Yeah. The option to touch. And if you know me and maybe it's like some of you guys out there who are doers, who are these type A's, these professionals successful women, and that just goo do and go, they make things happen with their hands, with their work. They're hard workers. You go out, you do it and you can always do more to make things happen. You've got great skill sets and you can use those skillsets to make things happen. You have some control and options to put your hands on those things. Right? So I was immediately convicted like, okay, God, cause I'm in this season. As you guys know, I am building up my business of my life, coaching business, you know, guys, I offer individual again. I will have some group coaching sessions coming up, but I offer this individual coach session. I'm doing some real estate investing. And I'm starting up these businesses because I've left my corporate job. And he reminded me, you know, when it's something that you don't have a choice to put your hands on and try to control, you got a hundred percent faith, but grow when you have an ability to put your hands on something and try to make something happen. That's where your faith falters. That's where your faith tends to not be so faithful. So overwhelmingly a hundred percent all in. And he said, why is that? Why is it that you think that when there are places that you wouldn't be able to control anyway, that you can give me a hundred percent, but when you do have some control, you do have some of that space where you could put your hands on something that you tend to do, try to do it for me. You are trying to do my work for me. God said, and I'm just waiting on you to throw your hands up and say, God do it all. And I trust you to do it. Even if I could. Now that's not to say, you're sitting on the couch, eating a bag of bond bonds, and you're not doing anything that he's calling you to do, but I tend to do go over, do too much. I tend to make things happen. That was the whole premise of, you know, I was in a place where I took such a huge faith step, where I left my corporate job based on faith, based on what I was hearing from him saying, do this, give this to me. And I will show you what's next. But in the seasons of coming up with what's next, sometimes when you're in the thick of it, when you're in that circumstance, you forget that he will do what he said he was going to do. You're just not met up with that yet. Your circumstance just hasn't met up with the end result that he has in mind yet. And so we start to start to frantically start to work and do, and, and we don't always know what we're doing. And we don't always remember to give it back to God. If he called you to it, he will lead you through it. And so that's, I just wanted to share that because I think that's important. It's where in your life do you feel like you are a hundred percent all the way in giving God his credit and given God all that you have to say, yes, I trust you. I know without a shadow of a doubt that, you know, in my case, this was God, this is going to be negative. I know it versus other spaces in your life where you've gotten your hands on something that God is saying, let it go, give it to me, stop putting your hands on it. When you take your hands off of it, I will be able to do the thing that I've been trying to do. I'll be able to reveal to you that God size dream, that God's size outcome that I've been trying to get you to. Where are you in your life? Falling short of the faith that you need to grow to let him take it, to let him grow you. That's my challenge to you today, because that was my challenge. Last night, as I stood washing my face, looking in the mirror and hearing that nudge of the Holy spirit to say you are getting to that point where you're putting your hands on some things that I've told you I'll take care of, and you need to trust me as much as you did with your health outcome. You need to trust me with your financial outcome. You need to trust me that I, the women that, that are meant to be connected with you already there for you. Hello ladies, you guys listening to this podcast. You guys are my ladies. You guys are my people. He's already got the connections, worked out. He's already divinely set up all the interventions, all the connections that he needs to now in the past now and in the future it's already done. So there's a level of trust that I need to bump up in my financial business career life to give him all the way now. Yes, I took a huge face step and gave him my, my career in my, my salary and my title and all that stuff. But I have to continue to walk in that trust and walk in that faith. So I want to challenge you today. Ladies, those of you guys listening, you're here for a purpose. You're here for a reason. And I believe that you're listening to this episode today because there's somewhere in your life that you are not quite giving it all up to him. You're not quite still enough, or you're not quite resting enough to allow him to guide you to do what's next. There's a difference between sitting on the couch and not doing anything, then being quiet and resting and listening for his guidance and then doing what he's guiding you to do. So I want to challenge you today. I'm challenging myself and I'm going to be doing it right along with you. Find that spot, find those places in your life that you could loosen up the reins on what you're holding onto so that God can show you. What's next. Okay, ladies. All right, ladies, if you are stuck in this, if you need help with this feel free to email me at Angie, Tony Rogers, gmail.com. And we can walk this through this thing together. We will go through my big idea framework, where we will talk about your identity. We will identify the issue. We'll define it so that it is attainable. We will embrace where you've been, where you are, where you're going. We will activate by making an action plan that you can use every single day to get closer and closer to your goals. And we will then assess meaning that we will just figure out what's working. What's not working once we've activated and implemented, we will assess and see what do we need to tweak? Okay? That's the framework that we'll walk through in the coaching sessions. All right, ladies, love you guys so much. Thank you guys for listening and we will see You on the next episode. Hey, before you go, I'd love for you to hop over to my podcast and give me a review. And you know, I love five stars. That's how we can share this thing with other women. Just like us. You're five stars in written review. Really helps me get the word out. You can also take a screenshot of this episode and tag me in your Insta and Facebook stories. Hey mama, welcome to Holy may life where I believe that you are not created to do just one thing in your life. Well, you are not just your job, your title or your salary. You're not just a mom or a white versus sister. You are fearfully and wonderfully made to lead in all areas of your whole life. Your life is like a pie that's made up of different pieces that create a complete circle and girl, you deserve to enjoy the whole pie. Hi, I'm Angie Tinetti Rogers and mama. Girl, let's tap into the whole life. God has for you and experienced that God sized fulfilled life together. We're going to walk through some boundaries, leadership mindset and restoration in different areas of your life that may need to change. It's going to be some tough workup in here, girl, but we're going to block this thing out together, uncovering some bold courageous actions that we can take to experience, not just a good life, but your whole life. Are you ready to live your whole life? Holy made. Let's do it. [inaudible] Okay, guys. Welcome back to this episode of Holy made life. And I am so excited. I have such a special treat today to introduce you to what my friend, my mentor and my coach she's been instrumental in helping me with this podcast. So I can't wait to introduce you to her name is Stephanie Gass. Welcome to the show. Yay. Hello. Thanks for having me, Angie. No problem. I am so privileged and honored. So today guys, I wanted staff to share her story. She's got an amazing story all the way from corporate to what she's doing now. So I just wanted to her to give you her journey and tell you a little bit about her journey and how she got to where she is today. Yeah. So this is a doozy hope y'all are ready. And I think the main thing is I want you to hear from this story, as I share with you, is that I think we all start out seeking after things that we think the world, the, what, the world's definition of things, right? Validation or success or worthiness, and it still leaves us broken, right? It still leaves us searching and seeking and looking for what is this missing, this worthiness that I can't seem to find. And ultimately through our own searching process, trying to figure out the answers and be our own beacon of light. And we're left in this constant state of, I guess, pain and turmoil at the end of the day, right? Cause we're like, this is not ultimately what is feeling like I'm in this calling work or I'm feeling unhappy or I'm feeling lack, or I'm not feeling that worthiness. And then we turn to God's way and we feel a very different outcome. We feel a very different way of life. So that's what I want you to pull from this story as I share. So like Andrew mentioned, I'm Stephanie gas. What I do now is I am a coach for the faith led entrepreneur who wants to figure out their calling and get clarity on that calling. So they can create a kingdom business and use their gifts for God's glory. And then ultimately have a business that lights them up using their giftings, using the, that God has for them. And I run a top 25 podcasts, the Stephanie gas show and a coach and have courses and all the things I work less than 30 hours a week. I've got two little boys. It's pretty Epic now cause I'm partnered with God in what I do. So that's what I do today, but let's rewind back about a decade and look at how I got here and how I got to this space of doing business God's way instead of the world's way, started out in corporate America. I've always been a high achiever that comes all the way back from childhood, having a dad who has super high expectations and you know, his growing up in his generation, it was all about go to school, get the job, get stability. And that is what will equal your happiness later in life. Your, you know your stability and having that financial success. So, okay, cool. And when you achieve that's when you get attention. Got it. So grow up, do that always a high achiever got good grades, went to college, went got my master's degree, went into corporate and you know, it was just me. So I easily became a workaholic easily slid into that. I've always been good at work. And when you're good at something, that's where you tend to operate because it feels good for you. Oh, I'm good at this thing. I'll live there, literally live there. I will live in this thing. I'm good at which here's, here's the kicker, right? That can be your gifting and tip. And often it is it's your God directed giftings. But at the same time, the enemy knows it too. Not to give him any credit, but he's like, Ooh, she loves work. How can I twist that to my benefit? Well, let's just make her a workaholic by the age of 23. Perfect. So there, I went climb that corporate ladder. I was the youngest financial controller in this global company. I was going to Germany and Spain and jet setting. And I had the Blackberry phone 24 seven, right. Like, and it was fine. So it was just me, her. So I thought, but it was playing out in all these different areas of my life drinking way too much partying way too much because you had to learn to have that release from working 24 seven. So I would do that. I'd punish my body that way. And then I would go back to work. And so it was like this just cycle of really just unworthiness, I guess, even though I'm working so hard, even though I, Oh, I'm I, you know, I'm not skinny enough, I'm not fit enough and I need to work more. So like just searching, searching, searching, searching. And I was a Christian quote unquote, but I had definitely not found my true relationship with Christ. And so I was looking in all the wrong places. Well that went on for four or five years. And then I met my now husband. He was our auditor at the company. So funny, he walks in and I'm like, I'm gonna marry that guy. I am to my friend in the cubicle next to me, it was so divine and anyway, true story. So we're now married, which is so fun. God's got jokes. But at the time when we started like secretly flirting and, and that going on and then the company shut down. So at this time I was late twenties. I was engaged to my now husband, Brad and the company was shutting down and I had a choice, go move to Germany, keep working for this company. Great. Try to find something else here where we live, but there's not so many manufacturing jobs like that and big plants, so, or figure something else out. And I was like, well, I guess I'm at a crossroads. We want to have kids. We want to have a family. What if I try to be an entrepreneur? And right about the same time my mom got into a network marketing company, I knew nothing about network marketing at all. Except that some girls on the promo videos were making millions of dollars floating in their pools, sell some skincare stuff. And I was like, well, that sounds fine if they can do it. So can I totally just jumped in? And that's what I did. I left corporate everything I knew to just become an entrepreneur. Wow. Okay. So you just packed so much in that so far. And quite frankly, some of that sounded so familiar to myself, finding that worthiness in the world and having a highly high expectations or highly critical dad who that's, how you achieved and that's how you showed people that you were achieving. So one of the things, when you talked about coming to a floor roads, what would you say the role God had at that point in your life when you were going from corporate into making a decision to move into the network marketing, what role did God have in that? What role did prayer have in that, that a point in your life? None. Okay. None. I did not. At that point, have that relationship with God at all. Didn't pray over those choices did not turn to him for guidance. That was all me. Okay. Now the good news is he uses everything for good. And so it's fine. Now I see how like parts of that phase in my life were still preparing me. Cause he goes before me and I was saved at nine. So I've always been his daughter. I just fell away for a while. And so who knows what, what handiwork he had behind the scenes, but I didn't knowingly as I should have bring those choices to him first. Okay. That's so good. I just wanted to point that out because I think some of us, when we are in that journey, we don't always intentionally know that we should be taking things to God, but that's how he's working on us the whole time. And he used all that. He uses all of it for good. It's all redemptive. So I just wanted to point that out because I know I kind of know where you are now. And I think that's important to this story as we learn and grow in our maturity in Christ and and being able to bring things to him. So, okay. So you were, you joined the network marketing company Yes. And climb that ladder as well. Two years in, so had one son miles, my older son and still a workaholic at this phase and went all the way up to the top. 1% of the company, again at the expense of everything else in my life, right? This time I had gained 60 pounds. So I was going the other direction and, and just very unhealthy anxiety and working 24 seven, my son probably never saw me without an ear piece in my, my thing, my ear on my face, the whole first two years of his life. And it was awful the way that I would take calls at the expense of anything didn't matter. It would be, you know, six in the morning, it would be 10 at night, all of it. And it's just, it's, it's heartbreaking to look back and go with the things you thought were important in your life were really just an idol. And me chasing that success was such a facade from the world that when you get it, when you make it, it'll be worth it. And I believed it. Like I truly believed when I make it, this will make sense. But looking at it now from this lens of 20, 21, 2020 is perfect vision going, wow. I missed out. I'm so much with him from a selfish place of, for me, you know, I want to grow this for me. I want to make more money more. And anyways, again, God is so good and he's redeemed that with me and, and it's all good. And I forgiven myself and he has forgiven me for that phase. But what happened was from the outside perspective, Oh, she's made it, she's doing so great. Right. Everybody can see, which is exactly what I thought I wanted. Well, at that point in time you know, everything else was starting to crumble away. And here's where I believe that God started to step in. So we were, we were getting back into church pretty consistently. I hadn't had like that breakthrough moment yet, but it was coming. And the company went through a rebrand, my team, all the new shiny companies that came out back in 2016. And so my multi-sector your business was like gone within six months and there was just no more money. And I was pregnant with my second son at this time. And it was like full on identity crisis, Angie, because at this point in time, all I knew what was, I equal my work. I am only as good as my bank account as my work, as what people see me as. And so that's where I believe God was like, Hey, it's time for my daughter to come home. I need her to get back on this path. I have big plans for her and this is not it. And so when that company crumbled beneath me, that's where we had to borrow money from my son's savings account to pay the bills. My husband sold his Harley Davidson to pay the bills and that, and I'm here really humongous, pregnant. Like everything is like, I don't have any money. The company is like all of it, right? It's like nothing's left and, and full identity crisis. And I'm like, okay, this is it. Like, this is my I'm in the ashes moment. There's nothing left here of what I thought I was. I have a choice. I can turn back to the world to rebuild myself or I can turn to God to rebuild me. And I knew where I got myself and it was right there in that pile of just ashes and brokenness and anxiety and unworthiness and ignoring my son and like putting everyone second to this business that crumbled and left me broken. And that was the moment where I was like, I'm done, I'm done with my I'm done leading myself. I am not big enough to do this. I don't want to be my work anymore. I need to be who he created me to be. So I got out a sheet of paper and I started writing down who God wants me to be. And I wrote down, he wants me to spend time with him to surrender to him, to get back into my health, to put my family first again, to to still do. I knew business was in there somewhere, but I put it at the very bottom of the list. Cause honestly I was really over it at that point in time. And I was like, here you go. I live here. I'm surrendering my entire life to you right here on this piece of paper in this moment, take it. I'm done. And a couple of weeks later, we were in church in worship. And I had like the true baptism in the Holy spirit moment. Like the tears, the chills, the Holy spirit, goosebumps, everything like couldn't breathe. I was like, he's got me. Like, he's here. Like Holy spirit is with me in this walkout. And I'm, I'm made new, I'm totally made new in him, but easier said than done. Okay. So I'm looking at the paper going, must be nice to be her, got her life together. She's fit healthy kids. Or she's got this business that she works part time, like whatever. Yeah. Right. So I just started with one thing a day and the first thing was I needed to get my health back. So I joined a gym. I couldn't afford that. Had daycare that I could do two hours. So I'd work out for an hour. And then I would try to figure out what I was doing with my business. And I started with just like lives, helping moms. I'm like, let me just start with like helping these moms who have online businesses. I know how to grow big businesses online. I'll start there. They were messy. They were awkward. They were really busted. I did it anyway. Didn't know the outcome, but because I was doing it his way and this time praying over every choice, Angie. So back to your other question, it was like, Oh, do you want me to do this? Do you want me to take this, this opportunity? Do you want, do you want me to work on this, this thing this week? Like Holy spirit put things in order for me. And the order was me time with me time with your husband, your kids, your health, right? And then all the way down at the end of the list was figuring out this business all the while he's bringing in favor, he's got somebody like, Hey Steph, can you do some social media consulting? I'll pay, we'll pay you two grand a month. I'm like, okay. Wow. Like, so he was making sure I was taken care of this whole time that like the business was gone and the income was gone. And so praise him for that. He always makes a bridge right? When he calls us to cross the ocean. He's like, but here's a bridge, but you got to take the step. So I was just taking the steps every day, didn't know, didn't know, take the step, take the step. So this was 2016. It was a hard year. I didn't just, it wasn't just easy and yes, I trust you, but it was like, I trust you. Wait, do I trust you way? Do I? But I kept going. I kept renewing my mind. I kept getting familiar with God. Focusing on the Bible is trying to strengthen who I was. Do you have any questions about this hard period, because then I'm going to move to climbing out of the Valley in a second. Yeah. So I just wanted to point out a couple of things you said, first of all, we're going to have to go back to that 20, 20 vision at the end. So let me don't let me forget that at the end. But the, you said a lot of things. One is breaking it down to one thing at a time, one step at a time, just doing the thing and then also doing the thing scared or fearful or with anxiety or in doing the thing anyway, doing the thing, even though you didn't know how or what even sometimes to do, but doing it under prayer. So if you can just expand a little bit on how did you, you know, how did you break that down? What, what were some of those steps that you did to break it down and get through that? Just push through that fear, doing it messy. Yeah. So one, once I had that sheet of paper and it was truly like a little loose leaf piece of paper, Angie and I was like, scribbling it out. But it was something that I've never forgotten about because that was this defining moment where you draw your line in the sand. So I think if any of you were in that, just break down moment, like nothing is working. This isn't making sense or it's not working. Or my life feels like the pressure is too much to bear or I'm not operating what God wants for me. Just start with the sheet of paper. Right? Put your hand on that sheet of paper. Holy spirit. Be here with me, father, God lead me, use my pen, use my mouth. He's my heart. Give me my gifts. Help me to speak to me through the sheet of paper right now. Who do you want me to be? Who are you calling me to be? What needs to change? What do I need to let go of? And just let it flow because it's here inside of you, right? The answers are there. But when you get them out of here, your mind and your heart, and you put them on a piece of paper, that's when you get to see it and inventory it and put it in order. And then from that sheet of paper, if I did nothing with it, it would never have helped me to get to this point. So from the paper I made a plan from the paper, you make a plan. Okay. And then I like what Angie said. She said taking action through the pressure under prayer. So why out of the pressure, but because there's a lot of pressure to do something with the paper. So you prayerfully take action and you move through that pressure. And that's also how you step out of faith and you crush the fear, lots of, a lot of alliteration for you guys in that one. But basically I went to the planner. I've always been a good planner, got up the planner. And I was like, what do I do this week? And I wrote in John and Jim find one, a daycare. It's like, yes. And I planned it in. And then I planned in when I was, and then I planned in waking up a little bit earlier and I just inched it. I started waking up 15 minutes early to pray. Then I was like, Ooh, this feels so amazing. I love this. Let's bump it to 30. Now I do an hour because that's so important for me to get right with God every day. And to spend that time with him. And it's a non-negotiable for me now. But I started with something that seemed doable with my life. I didn't freak myself out and be like, you're going to the gym seven days a week. And you're doing an hour with God every morning. Cause that would have been too much. I wasn't ready. So I just three days a week, let's hop to the gym. We can start there. Then I went to the next thing on the list, husband, okay. You know, got some work to do there. I've been ignoring this man to run this business. Like I need to have some hard conversations. I need to repent for these things. Apologize to him. I need to make him a priority. I need to be sure that we're spending quality time that he feels seen and heard and work on that. And so what does that look like in a planner? Everything you need to do has action steps behind it, but you have to make it intentional, prioritize it, plug it in just like Andy talks about with her wheels and with her buckets that she teaches you guys, same stuff. Okay. So I planned it in and I would go to that day in the planner and I was in such a raw broken state too. It really helped for me to be like, I'm not going to sit here and my thoughts and my misery, I'm gonna go to this thing and see what I said I was going to do today and just check it off. Right? Like let's just move my feet. Let's just move my feet. And each day got easier. Each week I got more powerful each month, God strengthened me each year. He clarified my steps more and more and more and more and to think, I mean, that was the end of 16. So 17, 18, 19 2020. That was five short years ago that I was in the biggest breakdown of my entire life. And now I'm sitting at the peak of a mountain top in my life where I've never been here and I'm like five years, man. Like he, God can work in your life when you allow him when you partner with him. So that's what I did Angie to do that work. Yeah. That's so good. And I think too, the other thing that you mentioned, and you just, you know, on a big scheme in little schemes, is that throughout those steps throughout that process, he gave you confirmations. He, he, he showed up with a $2,000 contract for social media console conference consulting. And I think he does that for all of us, as long as we're looking for that. And we give that credit to him when that happens. So that's so good. That's such a part of the process is being intentional and looking for what he's doing for us. Yeah. And seeing those confirmations come through at the time, I didn't really know as much as I see now, like now I'm super hyper aware of like, God wink. That was amazing. Thank you. You know, but at that time I'm like, Oh, well that's kind of random. Sounds good. But like, look for the miracles, seek for the miracles and then write them down. One of my favorite things is every month doing writing down the praise report and the miracles that have happened that month. And it's like, I mean, there are handfuls of things that he's done to just keep you on the right path and their confirmation, like Angie, like, Oh wow. That Jim, just out of nowhere, right next door to my mom's just enough to pay for it. Like all the little things that would perfectly work as I started moving into what his walk for me instead of my walk for me, when you're on your walk, it's resistance, things are hard. You feel like you're forcing stuff when you're on his walk, his path, things feel easy, seamless, more green, more fruitful, like it's just flowy. Yeah. And then you, so you wrote down the plan for each of these things, but then also at the end of the month, you're writing down a reflection of all of those things and that's super important. Write it down and make it plain. That's what the Bible says. And you're writing down not only where you want to be and who you are and the steps you need to take it. But then you're writing down almost like a gratitude or a reflection of everything that he's done just in that short part time period. There's so many things that I've forgotten because I didn't take the time to write it down. So I'm doing more of that now as well. That's great advice. Yeah. Yeah. So, okay. So we go here in 20, the end of 2016, beginning of 17, it was like, really this Valley was really rough and I stay at like, Oh, I just trusted that. Well, okay. I was also like looking for jobs. I was like, I'll just go back to corporate. I was looking at teaching kids, English at 2:00 AM because that's what I thought would make sense seriously. And I started making t-shirts on Amazon for $3, a certain prominence in case any of you were like panicking, trying to figure out your life. That is totally normal. You're not alone. However, I had a friend sit me down and she was like, we did some work together and I helped her get clarity on her life. I said, why aren't you using this 20 years of trauma you went through now, you've been healed. You've been in 15 years of therapy. Why don't you do this self-love movement for women who need this? The stuff that you're gifted in. I gave her a name. I gave her a tagline and gave her a title and we're just sitting there. And like, we had taken a girl strip and this was like two hours of our time. And she just turned it in and she's like, can you sit down please? I was like, okay. And she's like, can you stop doing all the ridiculous things that you are doing? And you're panicking trying to figure out a way to make money. Can you stop doing that? And just be a clarity coach, because do you hear what you just did for my business? You have a gift. She said, I want to lick your brain. So that was, that was coined. We laugh about that still today on the lick your brain. I was like, okay, things just got awkward, but I stared at her and it was like this massive breakthrough for me. Oh my goodness. This is what this is. I've had this my whole life. I didn't know. This was a thing. I'm a clarity coach. And so I right there in that moment, I'm like, let's go God. So I started doing lives. I started taking some clients. I was still trying to figure out my way, but I knew the direction I was going, going at the same time. Crazy boundaries. If I'm going to do business again, this is your way, God, this is your business. Not mine. I will be your mouthpiece. Speak through me, move me. Tell me when to turn it off. Tell me. And I've all. Yes, I've fallen. This has not been perfect, but I always readjust. I reset the boundaries. I reset the sales and I go, so that was roughly mid 2017. And it was hard because the business wasn't growing well, I was still like struggling. Like, how do I grow? This? Is it the YouTube? Is it the blog? Is it the, what am I doing? Like I was everywhere. And it felt very exhausting. And I could feel myself creeping back into like workaholism in a way of like, or being afraid of that. Like, Oh, if I keep pushing this hard in all these places, I'm going to become old Stephanie again. And that did not feel good. And so at that moment, I'm like, I know what it is. God, it's the clarity coaching. I get it. It's helping these women rise out of their fear. Take massive action. Have the business that, that you have for them based on their books and heaven. But how do I grow it? How do I do it? I was praying, praying, praying for months. Well, in 2018, an answer came in a dream and it was a very clear vivid, prophetic dream start a podcast. And I was like, huh. Okay, well, that sounds good. So I didn't really listen to podcasts at the time. I think I listened to one, had no idea how to start one, but I had a $20 microphone in the drawer in my office. And I made some Busta channel art on CAMBA. I hope that no one ever sees it. And I sat down on a microphone and I pressed record and I was like, what's up? Welcome to the show. And the rest is history. What happened was I was able to stop showing up everywhere else, show up on one platform, share my voice, share my heart consistently to being consistent, posit. When my kids came in, it was like freeing. I could be myself. I didn't have to worry about being on video or doing makeup, which is not me. Anyway. It was like, I could just be raw me and I didn't know who was listening. And so it was kind of like, I just ripped the bandaid off. And I was like, this is what I am. This is what I stand for. It's online business and marketing paired with, with God and paired with ministry and doing business God's way. And I grew into it more and more and more over the past, over the years. But what happened was then my clients were like, well, how did you grow this business to be so incredible? And I'm like, well, the podcast is really the catalyst. So ended up creating a couple courses, teaching my students how to get clarity, start a show. I was doing the coaching nonstop and then ultimately taking my clients how to, how to then create a course to monetize the podcast and all the while crazy boundaries, like partner with God and all of it. And he knew then I was ready. Right? Because you can't be ready for the flood Gates and the flood Gates open and you'll drown. You have to be prepared. And so he had been doing a lot of work in me behind the scenes from 2016 to 2019 when he was, when I was ready to steward that favor and provision and the business of that size when I was ready. And he knew it, flood Gates, Burstows open. And here I sit and it, it really feels like a dream because I'm the woman on the paper. Angie, that's so good. I think you, you Made such a good point was that he was preparing you along the way. So it's not that you're just going to snap and things are going to happen and you're going to become that person on the paper immediately. But it's about your intentional actions and you're embracing where you are and where you want to go and figuring out how to get there and then listening and allowing God to change you and mold you and help you become more and more mature. It's the same thing that I say when I left my corporate job was, you know, it had, he asked me to do that 10 years ago, five years ago. There's no way I would have been mature enough or had enough identity in him to know that I can do that and steward that well, because he told me to and he's going to cover it. So I think that's such, such a good point that you make. Yeah. Thank you. And that's all, I think a couple of big takeaways I want to share is that clarity is not overnight. So me ultimately finding my way to being a full-time entrepreneur that has an incredible audience. I have a team, I have boundaries. I work my business 30 hours or less per week. I know what I do without a shadow of a doubt. I know I'm walking in my purpose. Well, that only took nine years. Okay. So it's to tell you that you can't give up on seeking after your clarity, but you have to get out of your way. You are not the one that gets to decide what steps you make, what the opportunities are, what what's next, how to go bigger, how to it's God's going to open those doors for you. He's going to bring you the divine connections. He's going to give you that specific direction, do this, right? Like you told Angie, you're going to leave the job. Don't worry. I got you. And here she is sitting in her purpose work. And her evolution of clarity is going to take a while. This is not overnight, but we all start somewhere. We start with that direction. And then we step out in faith and we know that when we wear the armor of God, that he will continue to do her to us. And he goes before us, he already knows the end of your story. We have to trust and have faith, big audacious faith. So we can achieve the God-sized dreams because they are bigger and better than our dreams will ever be. Yeah. Amen. And the other thing that I was thinking about when you were saying that is that, you know, his dream for you is so above and beyond what you could ever even imagine. And it also is for other people. So, you know, for example, you and I are sitting here connected because he had a plan for us to be divinely connected so that you could help me create some clarity in walking through what I'm doing now at, in this, he knew that I was going to need Stephanie gas to be saying yes, and being obedient and stepping into her calling during, when I said, okay, I'll leave my corporate job and have no idea what I'm going to do. He knew that that connection would need to be there. And had you not taken those action steps and said your yes to him, then I wouldn't be sitting here. And, and Holy made life, wouldn't be sitting here. So it's so our gifts and our callings are so much bigger than us. And, and they're meant to impact so many people. And we just have no idea who it is and when it's going to be. Yeah. I heard something once where someone said, if you don't say yes and amen to the calling, the purpose work and step out in that big, scary, really awkward faith, which is going to be, it's never comfortable to say yes to that. It's not, it's actually selfish because it's not about you, which is what you just said, but it's, it's not about us. It's about us operating in the perfect unity with the rest of God's kingdom. And so for, for me to do my work allows Angie to do her work allows one, some of you who are listening to Andrew and we'll work with Angie to do your work, it's all perfectly intertwined. They're having strings, right? We're on heaven's timeline. And it's like, I just have my daughter's perfectly orchestrated. But if one of us doesn't rise up into our authority, which we've all been given, but the Holy spirit, somehow that chain-link is broken. And I don't know about, y'all like, I'm not going to be the one breaking the chains over here, I'm break the chains of the world and that kind of stuff. But like, I'm not going to break heaven's chains where he is trying to beautifully orchestrate all of us rising together to do work for his good and his glory. So just remember that next time. You're like, should I, should I try that thing? Should I pivot? Should I leave that job? Should I start that blog or that podcast? Or should I pivot what I'm good at for what I'm called to be? Whether that be more in your business or more with your kids or more with your spouse? Well, I think that you have to, because it's your responsibility to be the woman on the paper for your life. Amen. Yeah. And I think it's praying over what it is, how it is. Cause you may or may not be wanting to leave your job, but you have a calling and maybe it's worked out within your job and that's where you're called to be. And so use it there. And maybe it's doing some other things in addition to your job. So it's, it's going to be specific to you and what God's calling you to do, but just be open to it and willing to become that person on paper that God's calling you to be. So we're getting towards the end of what I want to go back to real quickly, cause you brought up 2020, and we all know what a basket case the whole nation went to the whole world went to in 2020. Now obviously we knew that God is in control and we know that God has control, but you brought up a perfect vision being 2020. So in the natural 2020 is perfect vision. So can you give your revelation or a little bit of advice to women coming out of 2020 and how to use what we've learned or have a look for what we can learn from the season we just came out of related to 2020? Yeah. So what's interesting is that you can't have the peaks without the valleys. And so you can't have the breakthrough without the breakdown. There's nobody that gets to just, you know, make it, have the incredible story without first the hard stuff without walking through the valleys, because that is where our soil is tilled, right? That is where we are prepared. That is where our heart is strengthened and our faith is grown. And so those are the tests we go through tests so they can become a testimony. So as you look back on 2020, and yes, some of it was hard, but some of it was beautiful. Some it was incredible. I want you to dig in and find the miracles, find the things that stretched you pushed, you, broke you down. Did you experience a loss, a job loss, a family member loss. Did your kids, were they home with you for a whole year? Like mine while that was hard? It was extraordinarily beautiful. I told my husband, I'm like man soaking in the babies for a whole year. You know, one seven, one four. I'm like, this has been incredible. I've loved it, but I'm done soaking now. It's like, she's done. She's done soaking great. And praise God, my child, they're both back in school, at least half-time for now. But the point of that is I wouldn't have known them at this deep capacity that I know and see them. I wouldn't have understood their learning in this deep way. I wouldn't have been stretched to get to know my husband at this level, if he wasn't working from home for a whole year, that has been a beautiful growth experience for us. So there's fruit, there's fruit. Now that came through a seeming trial in the moment. So write down what are those trials you face in 2020? And then I want you with fresh eyes, a prayer, fresh eyes, and a pen to look at that list and go, what fruit am I already seeing? And every month as you're doing that miracle and that praise report, look back at that list. You wrote about 2020 trials. And all of a sudden you're going to start to see correlation between the trial and the fruit, because the seeds are born in the trials. You're going to water them. You're going to grow through them. That you're going to trust. You're going to pray. You're going to continue to steward that. And then you're going to see the blossoms start to come through. So then so good. Well, I want to thank you for being here. I want to let the community know how they can get in contact with you. To expand upon what I discussed in last week's episode, the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution places limitations on certain types of speech. Another type of speech that is not protected is defamation--in particular (for writers, anyway), libel. I discuss the elements needed for a defamation suit, distinguish between public and private figures, and explain the "actual malice" standard for libel set forth in the landmark 1964 U.S. Supreme Court case, New York Times Co. v. Sullivan. ********************************************************************************************************** I have a Patreon page now! www.patreon.com/marisadf Email: marisadellefarfalle@gmail.com Twitter: https://twitter.com/marisadee13 Instagram: www.instagram.com/marisadf13 I'd also really appreciate it if you could take a moment to rate and review this podcast on Apple Podcasts, as it'll help a lot more people find out about the show. ********************************************************************************************************** For further reference: "First Amendment": https://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/first_amendment NEW YORK TIMES CO. Australian actor, writer and producer Jason Gann rose to international fame on the strength of "Wilfred" (2001), a curious short comedy film in which he played a anthropomorphized dog; the film was expanded into a pair of successful and critically acclaimed television shows in Australia (SBS 1, 2007, 2010) and America (FX, 2010-2014). Born and raised in Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland, Australia, Gann fell in love with performing while in high school, and earned his bachelor's degree in acting from the University of Southern Queensland. After college, he worked in children's theater before moving into mainstream comedy and drama with the Queensland Theatre Company. In 2001, he teamed with a college friend, Adam Zwar, and director Tony Rogers to create a seven-minute comedy film called "Wilfred," about a young man and his over-protective dog, played by Gann. The short was well received on the festival circuit in both Australia and the United States, and inspired Gann and Zwar to expand the premise for a weekly series. While working on the show, which was initially rejected by several Australian television networks, Gann enjoyed minor roles in several Australian comedies before he and Zwar rose to fame as cast members on the popular sketch comedy series "The Wedge" (Network Ten, 2006-07), which also launched the career of actress Rebel Wilson. In 2007, Gann reprised his role as the foul-mouthed, drug-addled mutt in both seasons of the Australian version of the show, which won three Australia Academy of Cinema and Television Awards, including Best Television Comedy Series in its debut season. After the completion of the first season, Gann reprised his most famous character from "The Wedge," an addled professional athlete named Mark Wary, for the series "Mark Loves Sharon" (Network Ten, 2008), which spoofed reality television and hapless celebrities. Gann then traveled to the United States to oversee an American version of "Wilfred" for the FX cable network with producer David Zuckerman. With Gann reprising his role as Wilfred and Elijah Wood as his owner, the Stateside "Wilfred" became the highest-ranking debut sitcom for FX, and enjoyed three follow-up seasons before coming to an end in 2014.

At Creative Mechanisms, we engineer ideas into reality, from the most rudimentary back-of-the-napkin sketches to a fully-functioning model. We understand that even though you've been asked for a prototype, the only thing that will really satisfy is a product, which can be packaged and put on the shelves. The market often dictates tight deadlines, because there's no point in putting out a product if consumer interest has waned. With our market-driven focus, we look beyond simply creating a working prototype and look towards getting your product on the shelves before the concept goes stale. We don't just make prototypes - we make products. Products which are designed to be manufactured in your facilities. Products which are designed to be appealing, useful, and problem-solving. It's time to stop designing in the dark, never being sure what you're going to get as a prototype, or when it will finally arrive.
