The story of Jacob's sons is messy, painful, redemptive, and beautiful. It's the story of betrayal and forgiveness, grief and healing, famine and provision. But more than that, it's the story of how God takes a broken family and forms a people through whom He will bless the whole world. From the very beginning, God's heart has been to include the outsider and heal what's been fractured. This series invites us into that story—not just to watch it unfold, but to find ourselves in it. Because God is still using crooked sticks to draw straight lines—and to build His family today.

Today our guest is Krystal Colhoff - Director of MTSS at Austin ISD. Krystal shares how a large, urban district strengthened implementation not through top-down directives, but by elevating campus leaders and letting momentum build from the ground up. She explains how a "soft launch" created space for early adopters to innovate, how campus highlights sparked organic buy-in across 116 schools, and how monthly champions meetings and usage data now guide coaching and support. Krystal also highlights early wins, from thousands of Tier 1 lessons delivered to faster, clearer Tier 2 problem-solving, and why moving slow to move fast is helping Austin ISD build a system that lasts. The segment ignites with Sal questioning if his new Amazon obsession—high-sodium sesame sticks—is causing his "restless leg syndrome." This sparks a hilarious comparison of their diets, revealing Sal's monstrous Thursday night meal: an entire massive calzone (with two cheeses!) alongside a seafood salad. BT confesses he needs comfort food—a bag of chips, a pie, or even a chicken parm—to sit through a full game, exposing his own "mental block" on not snacking. Sal defends his own clean streak post-calzone, while the hosts figure out which one of them is the bigger health menace. The banter is a classic BT & Sal showdown between extreme indulgence and nervous snacking.

If you've ever wrapped up what felt like a perfectly modeled lesson only to see blank stares when your students try it on their own, you're not alone. You know the moment: you've explained, demonstrated, and thought aloud, but when it's their turn, they freeze. The problem often isn't the modeling itself—it's that students need more support between watching and doing. That's where effective scaffolding comes in.In this episode, I break down the four key steps of scaffolding—modeling, approximating, fading away, and independent learning—and share why each one matters. You'll learn how these steps help students internalize new skills rather than just imitate what they see, and how skipping a single phase can lead to confusion or frustration. When we add in those middle scaffolds, we create the structure students need to build true confidence and independence.Ultimately, scaffolding is about slowing down the learning process just enough so that all students have the chance to succeed. When we give them the right amount of support—and remove it at the right time—we set them up for meaningful growth and long-term learning. This episode will help you reflect on your own scaffolding practices and feel confident making small, intentional shifts that lead to big results.Join us in the Stellar Literacy Collective Membership: stellarteacher.com/join!Sign up for my FREE private podcast, the Confident Writer Systems Series, here!Sign up for my FREE Revision Made Easy email series here!Follow me on Instagram @thestellarteachercompany. Your heart follows what you treasure.Worry and anxiety seem to mark our cultural moment. Yet when we truly understand the character of the Father in heaven, worry is abated. That's what Jesus wants his hearers to understand. In this sermon, guest preacher Dr. Jonathan Pennington explores Jesus' teaching on treasure, worry, and why we can rest in the Father's good care.Series Description: Jesus is the hero of all of Scripture, the center of the biblical story, and the most important figure in history. The Gospel of Matthew gives us a firsthand look at the life and teachings of Jesus. It stands as a “bridge” between the Old and New Testaments, grounding us in the rich story of Israel while revealing the in-breaking reality of the kingdom of heaven. Through this preaching series, we seek to help people encounter the gospel of the kingdom and embody it as flourishing disciples who live under the gracious rule of God.
In this sermon we look at James 3 and talk about the power our words have to shape lives, including our own.For more teaching, visit citizenscharlotte.com/teaching

When most people hear “ROX Rocks Heating and Air,” they don't just remember the tune — they remember the brand. This week, the Blue Collar Twins, Jason and Jeremy Julio, sit down with Jason Stenseth, President of Prime Home Services Group, to unpack how $400, a beat-up truck, and a $60 jingle grew into a thriving portfolio of home-service brands. From working in his father's HVAC shop at age 12 to acquiring and scaling multiple companies, Stenseth's story is pure blue-collar brilliance. He reveals how bold marketing moves, community-first outreach, and a focus on profit over size powered his growth — and how systems, service plans, and strong teams keep it all running. Tune in to hear how one catchy jingle, a few gutsy risks, and relentless drive transformed a small shop into a lasting brand built on grit, creativity, and customer loyalty.
