Jaine Rose lives in the Cotswold town of Stroud, happily making art in her plant-filled and colourful studio in the corner her attic house. She's had a pretty wild journey through art, parenthood, and the alchemy of women's circles and rituals. He work is an ongoing enquiry into women's spirituality which I see as the dynamic and ever-changing way that we reclaim our innate connection to a vast realm of magic. She works unapologetically with bold and vibrant colour, combining portraits, with flowers, magical creatures, trees and hills and other wonderful, often abstract details. Says Jaine, “I could talk endlessly about witchcraft, and our beautiful land that is worth fighting for. Or my insane love of cats, all animals, starry skies, lying in woodlands staring up at the trees, of all the things that fill me with wonder. Also all the things that have the power to move me, or even break my heart. So many stories, we all carry them. And so I ponder this as I travel relentlessly and obsessively between the oceans of the West, and the oceans of the East, magical places where witches be. With my Icelandic husband I chose to live in nature, not visit it. This decision has not been without tests. Together we have made a life that I feel we are only beginning. Everyday, I search for corners of quiet. When there, I stop and listen for a long time. These places exist around our farm, with friends, and the students I teach. These places are my everyday. They are my everything.”Agnieszka has been the recipient of a number of grants, including a Fulbright Scholars Fellowship to Poland and an American Scandinavian Fellowship to Iceland. In this episode, Mark Baratto sits down with famed artists D. Arthur Wilson and Lisa Wilson of Wilson Signature Collection Fine Art Gallery. We talk about how they both got started on their art journey and the origin of Rhupert by D. Arthur. More about D. Arthur Willson Embarking in the fourth decade on his artistic journey, D. Arthur Wilson constantly marvels at the adventure his life has become. Born and raised near Dayton, Ohio and the son of an artist, his self-taught career began at the tender age of three with his first painting. It is appropriate to assume that the wild heart of the artist wandered throughout a series of artistic styles before settling with his passion and self-defined style of “Wild Expressionism”. Moving from coast to coast as a quick sketch portrait artist allowed Wilson to explore the people and places that would eventually lead him to that first painting in his definitive style: the inaugural tiger, up close and personal that sold while on the easel before its completion. Since then, Wilson has created thousands of originals that capture the souls of the exotic, alluring beasts. Rendered on European Suede Mat Board with specific application of pastel, Conte' crayon and charcoal, each is a masterpiece for generations to appreciate. Wilson's passion is not only for the wild menagerie that he paints, but for the preservation and conservation efforts as well. His affiliations include Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, Tippi Hedron's Shambala Preserve, SEE-North Raptor Education and Rehabilitation Center, The Digit Fund, Mission Wolf, Nebraska Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Henry Doorly Zoo, Denver Zoo, Little Rock Zoo, Cheetah Conservation Fund, and is included in Who's Who in America. Wilson's wild menagerie spans the globe with private and corporate collections around the world, and one animal in particular rose to the surface as his own character over a decade ago. "Rhupert the Ostrich" emerged as D. Arthur's Wacky Philosopher and Lovable Icon and has collectors in all 50 states as well as numerous countries. Rhupert's pure and positive message is one that Wilson lives on a daily basis: "Be Yourself". and in the words of Oscar Wilde, "Life Is Too Important To Be Taken Seriously". Rhupert is a metaphor about the Human Condition, always reminding us to simply Be Ourselves, because quite frankly, everyone else is already taken! Wilson states: “One of the most challenging undertakings a person can face, is to find out who you are, be who you are and then share who you are”. More about Lisa Wilson “…a dramatic blend of levity and profound depth, balanced with sensitivity and passion…” This describes Abstract Expressionist, Lisa, to those who know her, and those who don't …yet. An artist for most of her life, her definitive style of Expressionism evolved from her experience, passion and love of life the beauty they have offered. Each dramatic work of art is a prayer; an offering surrendered in a spirit of innocent play and exploration. A Meditation… Rendered in oil, acrylic, sculpting mediums and a multitude of color, on board, gold leaf or fine art acrylic, each Masterpiece begins to breathe. With passionate relief, its topography unveils itself in a process upwards. A journey of the soul, this artistic adventure has produced extraordinary images that evoke a primal reaction from Lisa's audience, collectors coast to coast and abroad, stirring their hearts and sparking the imagination. Contemporary, yet soulfully introspective, one needs only to pause and let her paintings speak; to quiet their souls for just this moment, communicate in the language of the heart. An only child, she was fortunate to have endless artistic influences in her life that perpetuated a steady creative flow, beginning with the inspiration of her mother, an accomplished vocalist; her encouragement directly affected Lisa's ability to push through, discover, and find her creative self. As a result, Lisa would spend hours creating, drawing, painting and immerse herself in art of every form. An accomplished dancer, musician and vocalist, Lisa allowed the creative force to come forth and to flourish. The joy of her family, the thrill experienced from raising her sons, living throughout the country, and experiencing the different rhythms of people have also been a major contributor to her perception and presentation of her art. As a result, Lisa's paintings grace homes and corporations internationally and throughout the country. "Art is in the perception; and my art would be shallow without the tapestry of love and relationships that make my life so rich— thus contributing to the final outcome on the canvas.” Website: https://artgonewildstudios.comGallery Website: https://www.wilsonsignaturecollection.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wilson_signature_collection/
Chatting With Sherri welcomes award-winning writer Azure Arther! Azure Arther is a native of Flint, Michigan, who resides in Dallas, Texas, with her husband, son, and Blazion, the Betta fish. Azure began writing at a young age, and while her inspiration began with Grimm fairytale stories and the Sleepover Friends, much of her current style has been heavily influenced by Octavia Butler and Henry James. She is obsessed with literature and has found that her passions are evenly distributed between writing, teaching, parenting, and reading books with her son. Azure's stories and poems have appeared or are forthcoming in more than a dozen publications, but Writers of the Future is her first professional sale. About “Agatha's Monster,” Azure says, “Agatha began with some random questions. One day, I found myself wondering: what if monsters were born out of trauma? What would the world look like? How would humanity stay safe? Thus, Agatha came to life as a Hunter, a mage, a regular person with basic needs and worries. The ride Agatha and her monsters go on surprised me at times, and every rewrite shifted the narrative just enough to keep me, and hopefully future readers, guessing about what would happen next. The ending actually surprised me, too, and I feel it is one of my best-written endings thus far.” . Azure Arther won The Writers of the Future contest earning her a cash prize, trip to Hollywood, a week-long professional workshop, and her story, "Agatha's Monster," is published in the anthology, L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 38

What kind of human being do you want to be walking on this Earth? What is your moral compass and what are your humanitarian objectives in life? What have you been taught by your parents or have you learned along your life journey? Listen on this podcast to Film writer, and director Beth Lane as we open up the conversation about her upcoming Documentary “Would You Hide Me?” The story of Beth's journey to discover and unpack the bravery and courage of Arther and Paula Schmitt, a couple who hid Beth's mother and siblings during World War Two. The Documentary scheduled to be released in May 2022 tells the story through the lens of the Schmitt family who had the courage to hide Beth's mother and siblings as well as another mother and daughter for two years at their farm at risk of being murdered themselves if found out. Our conversation with Beth will hopefully open your eyes to the examination for yourself of the question “would you hide me?” In times like these where revisionist history is occurring and many Holocaust survivors' stories are being put in the camp of archaic history. Beth brings to light how we can have these conversations of “what would you do” in a non-confrontational way and we can stay present and learn what made us act and believe the way we do. What were we taught and what do we teach our children.Love the show? Subscribe, rate, review, and share! http://gratefulgoddesses.com/

The secret is out on Alaska and last year was the biggest summer tourism season on record and it doesn't look to be slowing down anytime soon. With the increase in the number of visitors, it can be harder to get away from the crowds in some of the more popular areas of the state to visit. However, Alaska is rich with remote lodges that can get you that rich wilderness experience away from the hustle and bustle of tourism traffic. So for our first episode back in Alaska, we invited friends of the pod Arther and Jen Kampmann back on the podcast to talk about their experiences over the past several years working for multiple remote lodges and the pros/cons of not only being a guest at one of these locations, but also an employee. My friend Valerie Hager reminds me that we go to the theater to be woken up and brought back to life. She would know. She’s an award-winning solo show performer and director who’s now a sought after solo show coach. She works through a unifying principle: bring your beast forward. Anything less won’t move an audience. Anything less isn’t real. She talks today about this need for story tellers to crack their hearts open, and the value of radical empathy. She’s learned a lot about human nature. She used to be a stripper. In Alaska. She mined all of her experiences there for her show “Naked In Alaska” She says there is gold dust under the pain. That underneath it all, we all just want to be seen, forgiven, and held. [EXPLICIT] A note to listeners: This episode deals with sexuality, drug use, and adult situations. Warner Bros. and DC Comics step outside the box and made a solo film outside their already established shared cinematic universe. And it focused on a villain instead of a hero. Joker shows the origin of Batman’s most famous adversary. Following 2 already impeccable film performances of the character, how does Joaquin Phoenix hold up? Listen to Cinematic Brotastic to find out. One thing was very clear in this movie, Joaquin Phoenix’s performance was the driving force behind the whole film. He gave a very real portrayal of someone afflicted with possible mental health issues that unfortunately resulted in a life of murder. One of the defying character flaws in Arther Fleck, played by Phoenix, is his mixed emotions in the literal sense. Fear, sadness, and nervousness or embarrassment, are expressed through laughter, which ultimately alienates Arther from everyone else. This is where Phoenix’s performance really shines. His ability to convey contradicting emotions such as sadness and fear through laughter is something that we Brothers Brotastic are truly amazed by. We may not have the acting chops of the greats, but we have acting experience, and the thought of trying to achieve what Phoenix was able to achieve seems impossible. Phoenix has set the bar high for awards season. The basic plot of the film at times felt predictable, but that wasn’t necessarily a problem. Once again, it was Phoenix’s performance that had you guessing. What was he going to do in this scene? That scene? It was the individual scenes that were unpredictable, so even though you knew the film was building to a big moment, how it got there was what was truly enjoyable. This being a stand alone film meant that it had no other films to build to, which allowed it a lot of breathing room. That knowledge also helped in knowing that this movie could go in any direction, and that was refreshing. This film’s depiction of Gotham City was one of the better iterations of its predecessors, TV universes included. It made the city the horrible place that Batman needs to save it from, but not so horrible that any sane person would just leave the city. It made sense why people were still living there. This film would easily work without any association to DC Comics, but the connection is just icing on top of the cake. Andrew gives this film 1.5 tickets; It’s good and well worth a viewing, but can be depressing. Philip gives this film 2 tickets; This film warrants a 2nd viewing to see it again through a new lens. Until next time, we’ll see you at the movies. And Don’t forget to check you ticket stubs.

I am, self-admittedly, jealous of artists. There is a part of me that feels like my art ability peaked in 3rd grade. So when I come across a talented artist, I am in awe of their talent. Not only is Kelly Anderson (Crayonkelly.com) such an extremely talented artist, she is a very down to Earth and insightful person. On her website, she describes her art the following way:My mixed media images depict feelings that everyone encounters at some point in their life. The crayon ties in those childlike feelings of safety and comfort. I use other items to tie in the meaning. I include a dictionary cutout relevant to the overall theme so one can visualize the emotions. 05-09-16 - Sexual Sin - Real Life Experience Shared by Kay Arther - Satan is hard at work to distract us and keep us from knowing God and having a relationship with Him... As far back as the Mosaic books we find some interesting references to sexual immorality and nakedness. The first recorded human curse was over nakedness (Gen 9:20-23). Nearly two entire chapters along with many other references were a code of ethics on nakedness and sexual immorality (See Lev. 18 and 20). Exposed genitalia or nakedness were common in Canaanite demonic worship. Instructions and prohibitions to Moses were so Israel's altars would not be like the Canaanites' (Ex. 28:41-43; 20:26). When Moses returned from the mountain, Aaron had lost control of the people as they worshiped a golden calf, "unrestrained" (Ex. 32:25), as the New King James says it. The Old King James says "naked," and the Living Bible says "committing adultery." And all this happened shortly after a move of God. One of the keys to overcoming sexual sin lies in the meditation of the Word of God concerning it. This will nurture the fear of the Lord in you. For example, in Gal. 5:19-21 the works of the flesh are divided into four basic categories 1) sexual sins, 2) sins connected with pagan religion and the occult, 3) sins of the temper, and 4) sins of drunkenness. It is interesting that sexual sin is listed first, not only here, but also in several other scriptural references in the New Testament. Romans 1:24, 6:19 – Uncleanness is singled out. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 – Sexual sins listed first. Galatians 5:19-21 – Sexual sins listed first. Ephesians 4:19 – Lewdness and uncleanness singled out. Ephesians 5:3 – Fornication and uncleanness singled out; let it not once be named among you. Colossians 3:5 – Fornication and uncleanness listed first. 1 Thessalonians 4:3 – Sexual immorality singled out in our walk of sanctification. 1 Peter 4:3 – Lewdness listed first from our past life. beyondbostonradio@gmail.com beyondbostonprophecy.com #bbostonprophecy Host - Larry Barnett
