Week Zero has arrived, and the betting market is already moving dramatically across the eight-game college football slate. Gary examines the latest spreads, injury reports, quarterback decisions, betting splits and updated leans before Saturday's action begins.TCU is receiving overwhelming support ahead of its Dublin rematch with North Carolina, pushing the Horned Frogs close to a double-digit favorite. However, the history of unders and outright underdog victories in Ireland could make that movement dangerous.USC is laying nearly 40 points against San Jose State as Lincoln Riley begins a playoff-or-bust season with Gary Patterson running the defense. Virginia enters its ACC opener against NC State with an extensive injury report, while the Wolfpack arrive relatively healthy.North Dakota State and Sacramento State make their FBS debuts under completely different circumstances. The Bison host Jacksonville State inside an energized Fargodome, while Sacramento State travels three time zones to face an experienced Eastern Michigan team.Stanford attempts to avenge last season's loss to Hawaii while dealing with offensive-line concerns and significant market support for the Rainbow Warriors. Florida State's spread against New Mexico State has climbed beyond 32 points, creating a difficult decision for anyone who missed the earlier number. The night concludes with Memphis visiting UNLV in a potential Group of Six playoff eliminator. Neither program has officially settled its quarterback situation, but market money continues moving toward the Tigers.Gary also reveals his four-team underdog round robin and explains why quarterback announcements could still move several Week Zero lines before kickoff.
Indiana football is eight days away, but IU athletics is already rolling. The Bison Briefing checks in on Indiana men's soccer, IU volleyball, fall camp questions, eligibility uncertainty, and the final countdown to the Hoosiers' 2026 football opener.Galen Clavio opens with the energy around the Back Home Network heading into football season, including a clip from Scott Dolson on Indiana's national championship run and what it felt like seeing IU fans flood the Rose Bowl. From there, the show turns to Indiana men's soccer, which moved to 3-0 after a dominant but tense 1-0 win over Butler, with Collins Oduro and Stephane Njike making their season debuts. The episode also previews IU volleyball's season opener against Creighton, revisits the ongoing eligibility questions around Stephen Daley, Kellen Wyatt, Avry Tatum, and Sam Alexis, and looks at key football notes from fall camp, including Tyler Morris at punt returner and the defensive backfield battle involving A.J. Harris, Ryland Gandy, and Jamari Sharpe. Plus: IU-Ohio State rivalry-name ideas, upcoming CrimsonCast programming, the C-Three live show, and a few Bloomington restaurant recommendations.Subscribe to the Back Home Network for more Bison Briefing, CrimsonCast, Indiana football, IU soccer, IU volleyball, Curt Cignetti, and Hoosiers coverage all season long.

Galen Clavio launches the newly dubbed Bison Briefing on CrimsonCast with a live afternoon episode covering two major Indiana sports topics: the continuing NCAA eligibility mess and the release of Indiana basketball's non-conference schedule.Ryan Phillips joins Galen to break down the latest eligibility confusion involving Class of 2022 athletes, professional opportunities, and whether players who spent time around NFL teams should be able to return to college rosters. They discuss the SEC's statement, the Big Ten's proposed rule, the legal uncertainty around the Wisne case, and what all of this could mean for Stephen Daley and Kellan Wyatt as Indiana football gets closer to the season. The conversation also gets into the bigger structural problem: college sports keeps trying to operate without a stable, collectively bargained system. Galen and Ryan talk through why the NCAA's current rulemaking keeps leading to lawsuits, why basketball complicates the definition of “professional,” and why the next few weeks could remain messy for athletes trying to decide whether to enroll, practice, sue, or move on.The second half shifts to Indiana men's basketball, where the newly released non-conference schedule gives Darren DeVries and the Hoosiers a stronger slate than fans have seen in recent years. The schedule includes Syracuse, Kentucky, Arkansas, Missouri, UCF, Bellarmine, Fairleigh Dickinson, Bowling Green, and more.Galen and Ryan like the schedule from a basketball perspective: more name brands, more résumé opportunities, and a better mix of tests and tune-ups. But they also dig into the season-ticket holder issue, because many of the best games are away from Assembly Hall or on neutral floors. That leads to a larger conversation about IU basketball's atmosphere, rebuilding fan trust, and why winning is the only real way to make Assembly Hall feel like Assembly Hall again.

he 2026 college football season opens with eight Week Zero games, and Gary breaks down every matchup using WCE model projections, roster talent, returning production, coaching changes and line-of-scrimmage advantages.TCU and North Carolina begin the season in Dublin, where recent results have consistently favored underdogs. USC faces an enormous spread against San Jose State as Lincoln Riley begins a pivotal season, while NC State attempts to challenge an experienced Virginia roster in Charlottesville.North Dakota State hosts Jacksonville State for the Bison's first FBS game, Sacramento State visits Eastern Michigan, and Stanford searches for revenge against Hawaii. Florida State enters a pressure-filled season against New Mexico State, with Mike Norvell's team expected to make a statement. The night ends with Memphis visiting UNLV in a matchup featuring Dan Mullen, Charles Huff, major quarterback questions and a Tigers roster capable of threatening an outright upset.Gary closes the episode with official predictions for all eight games, including five favorites and three underdogs.
Indiana football is entering a completely new reality: every home game at Memorial Stadium is sold out, ticket prices are up, expectations are rising, and the Hoosiers' fan experience has to evolve with the program.Galen Clavio and Scott Caulfield open CrimsonCast's 18th season of IU football coverage by looking back at how long the show has been covering the Hoosiers — from the Bill Lynch, Kevin Wilson, and Tom Allen eras to the national championship standard now set under Curt Cignetti. The conversation turns quickly to what a sold-out Memorial Stadium means for fans, especially with a full September home slate, a massive Ohio State game, and major demand for matchups like USC, Northwestern, and the Old Oaken Bucket. The main discussion focuses on the new Indiana football gameday: getting into the stadium earlier, changing tailgate routines, making concessions and bathrooms work with larger crowds, building traditions like Hoosier the Bison, towels, “Hurts So Good,” and Hoosiers in the NFL segments, and figuring out how Memorial Stadium can become a real home-field advantage. Galen and Scott also debate stadium renovation priorities, including the press box, premium seating, field suites, concourses, bathrooms, sound, lights, and whether a Lambeau-style suite model could make sense in Bloomington. The episode closes with a broader look at why football success matters to Indiana University beyond wins and losses — as branding, marketing, admissions energy, alumni connection, and long-term institutional strategy. The message: IU football is not just having a moment. The whole university now has to decide how seriously it wants to build around it.Subscribe to the Back Home Network for more CrimsonCast coverage of Indiana football, IU athletics, Curt Cignetti, the Hoosiers, Big Ten football, and the 2026 college football season.

First up on the podcast, Deputy News Editor Michael Price discusses the history of the North American bison population, its decline, and resurrection—and links to Indigenous cultures. He's joined by University of California, Santa Cruz evolutionary molecular biologist Beth Shapiro and Greg Wilson, a wildlife ecologist with Parks Canada. They talk about their Science paper on the genetic diversity of modern bison after near extermination during European colonization. Shapiro and Wilson also explain how these findings can be used to inform conservation efforts. Next on the show, Jennie Brand-Miller, professor emeritus in the School of Life and Environmental Sciences and Charles Perkins Centre at the University of Sydney, joins host Sarah Crespi to talk about what our ancient ancestors were eating and a big question—was hunting key to evolving big brains? Brand-Miller argues instead that fruit was the key factor in the expansion of hominin brains. She points to the high sugar demands of large brains, about 100 to 120 grams per day, and how this level of sugar intake was likely only achievable by consuming things such as fruit and honey before our ancestors' mastery of cooking and fire. This week's episode was produced with help from Podigy. About the Science Podcast Image credit: Mike Price Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Miranda Kerr broke down her "day on a plate" on Kristen Cavallari's podcast, and it is unhinged... venison, bison, caviar (no parasites, apparently), but absolutely no eggs, kale or sourdough. We can't stop thinking about it.Phoebe Bridgers' new album has a lyric that sounds suspiciously like a dig at Gracie Abrams, and once you add Paul Mescal and some very specific glow-in-the-dark bed sheets into the mix, this "feud" gets a lot messier. Opie, Ron the Waiter & Tony P go full chaos mode! First, a raging Yellowstone bull bison in rut mode turns a 65-year-old grandpa (and his grandson) into a viral disaster — dude gets launched EIGHT FEET in the air while filming TikTok instead of running. Opie's brutal take: ‘People think nature is a damn petting zoo and phones killed our survival instincts.' 2,000-pound tank vs. human ego = ouch. Then Lindsey Graham passes at 71 after sudden illness — from calling Trump a ‘race-baiting xenophobe' to his #1 Senate defender and golf buddy overnight. Political genius or the ultimate chameleon? What happens to his seat now? AND… the guys dive into Flat Earth blowing up again — is phone addiction + conspiracy brain turning everyone into tinfoil warriors, or is something actually up? Wild debates, zero filter, and nonstop laughs. This episode is pure Opie Radio rocket fuel. Don't miss it!
Donny Fandango set out with one goal: raise $53,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities...and then proceeded to absolutely crush it. The crew recaps the incredible Radiothon, the huge donations, the emotional moments, and—because this is The Rizzuto Show—the bizarre auction prizes everyone agreed to while Rizz was unconscious after wisdom tooth surgery.Apparently getting anesthesia is basically giving your coworkers power of attorney.Rizz returns to discover he's now the proud future owner of a very...unique...piece of jewelry, Melissa bought herself two hours in studio, and Donny narrowly escaped getting one of the weirdest tattoos imaginable. Charity wins, dignity loses. Everybody's happy.Speaking of surgery, Rizz shares the surprisingly abrupt experience of getting knocked out for his wisdom tooth extraction. No dramatic countdown. No floating through space. Just "What are your hobbies?" and instant blackout. The gang compares anesthesia stories, post-surgery meals, and why hydrocodone apparently turns Rizz into a man convinced invisible bugs are crawling on him.Meanwhile, Moon continues adding to his collection of "Craigslist Could Have Been My Last Day On Earth" stories, while Lern makes her very first Facebook Marketplace purchase. What should have been a simple $35 weight bench somehow becomes an FBI-level covert operation involving porch pickups, Venmo timing, getaway driving, and apologizing to Ring doorbells. Then everyone gets hungry. The crew debates Korean BBQ versus Brazilian steakhouses, discusses the strategy of "beating the house" at all-you-can-eat restaurants, admits to suffering from the legendary meat sweats, and somehow turns dipping sauces into a competitive sport. As if things weren't chaotic enough, Yellowstone provides one of the wildest viral videos of the week when an agitated bison launches a grandfather several feet into the air after a campsite encounter. The crew breaks down exactly what happened, why wildlife deserves way more personal space than tourists seem willing to give it, and why surviving a bison toss wasn't even the only animal-related headline making news. They also dive into the Running of the Bulls, debate whether life insurance covers intentionally sprinting in front of enormous angry animals, and discover that some adventures may be better left to someone else's vacation photos. It's another morning full of ridiculous conversations, genuine laughs, questionable life decisions, and proof that no matter how carefully you plan your day, someone is probably about to get launched by wildlife. If you're looking for your next daily comedy podcast, welcome home.
