We’re talking all things glow this week on Uncensored, from cult-status serums under $100 to the surprise return of permanent hair straightening. (Seriously, where is the Melbourne version of that GC/Sydney salon? Hannah needs answers.) Producer Jas is back with the latest and greatest from Adore HQ, including a $14 freckle pen that fakes summer skin in seconds, Laneige’s new donut-shaped lip serum, and a foundation brush she’s borderline evangelical about. Plus, a listener calls in about their stubborn melasma, and we get expert advice from our go-to skin queen, Dermal Clinician Yads, on what actually works long-term. Oh, and in breaking news: Hannah’s partner Nick has fallen off the skincare wagon. But don’t worry, she’s devised a system involving strong visual cues. You’ll want to take notes. As a 51-year-old, I notice when my skin isn't looking it's best. And because I hate wearing make-up (always have), I have an extra incentive to keep my skin looking good because I'm not going to use make-up to cover it up. When people find out my age, they often ask "what skincare brand do you use," and while I think good products are a component of good skin, they are not the most important! In this episode I go through the lifestyle choices I make on the (almost) daily to keep my skin looking its best. Do I look like I'm 21 and just had a deep-plane face list (IYKYK), no, but I feel good about my skin and it's my daily habits that are responsible for that.

If you're struggling with acne, breakouts, or dull skin, this episode is for you. In the functional health world, we see skin issues not as isolated surface problems but as signs of deeper internal imbalances. I'll walk you through the five core systems I assess when working with clients dealing with chronic acne. From gut health to hormones, blood sugar, liver detox, and nervous system regulation. You'll learn how issues like leaky gut, hormonal imbalances, or poor liver detox can manifest as inflammation on your skin. I also dive into the role of insulin resistance, stress, and environmental toxins in making things worse. Instead of quick-fix treatments, we focus on targeted strategies like comprehensive stool and hormone testing, food and supplement protocols, and lifestyle shifts that actually address the root cause. I'll also share what I look for in test results, what symptoms matter most and what you can start doing now to support clearer skin from the inside out. Whether your breakouts are linked to PMS, stress, or digestive issues, you'll leave this episode with clarity and next steps.
