C'mon back, Mahesh.Del gives two thumbs down to The Brutalist. Dave hasn't seen it. What's your vote?Dave gave 3.5 stars to The Chestnut Man, a series streaming on Netflix. It's a hunt for a serial killer in Denmark, a bit creepy, a bit gory, a bit of a tangled web. Del laments a Florida law outlawing emanations in the sky, or something like that. It's Florida, what can we say. Del further extols the pleasures of NA beer. Off to the races this week as the CEO brings the immediate flamethrower for one of her latest Hinge matches- a very smart man who left a blatant insult as a comment when he swiped right! We do love a good story time this time of year! Then, this week the Team gets into the nitty gritty of a recent night out at one of their favorite downtown haunts. When a friend asks you if somebody is attractive, how do you (should you) respond? Lume thinks the math ain't mathin' when it comes to Kristen's baddie-alert senses. Meanwhile, Kristen is convinced that meeting men while out on the town is becoming a laughable expectation, but not for the reasons you might think. Then, is it difficult to show and/or be perceived as your true self in a bar/club setting? The most disputed 'shot of the week' in the history of the show occurs. The devil's juice takes the wheel in this absolute classic episode you do not want to miss! QQH(41:53) A discussion about NY Jets QB Zach Wilson's recent breakup leads to Kristen breaking down some Utah TikTok mom drama. Elon Musk's failed bid at buying Twitter is anything but funny. Finally a last second "Watcha Watching" on the show "The Chestnut Man" on Netflix.

DA BINGE BOIS ARE BACK AND HERE TO SOLVE A MURDER! This week, Da Bois return to talk bout a Danish fictional crime show called The Chestnut Man, where a killer is murdering women who he deems are terrible mothers, and leaves behind little chestnut figure as his calling card. After having watched Dark and Requiem, Da Bois are no strangers to European television shows and this one falls somewhere in-between the qualities of the other shows. During the discussion, Enrique brings up the clues that led him to figuring out the killer prior to the reveal, all of Da Bois speak on the differences on the performances from the English Dub versus the original Danish, and they talk about the prospects of a possible second season and which directions they could go in. To close the show, we do a very quick Whatcha Been Watchin', where we talk about the shows we have been viewing outside of the podcast as no one but Tristan has seen anything this week! But Tristan details his spoiler free thoughts on the second season of Kakeguirui and how it matches up to the first season. DA BINGE BOIS ARE BACK AND SMOKING ON THAT SYNCHRONIC PACK! This week, Da Bois get together to talk about a movie that Enrique and Eli have both seen but due to the need of house cleaning with the show and movie list, we decided that now is the perfect time to watch it! Enrique, Tristan, & Eli gather around the table to talk about Anthony Mackie's journey into the world of synthetic drugs, as he stumbles upon Synchronic, a drug that can make children and people with a certain underdeveloped gland travel back in time to random periods. After his best friend's daughter took the drug and got herself lost in an unknown time period, he must try and use this drug to figure out a way to get her home safe and sound. Da Bois talk about how the movie used a great style that included horror elements to create a intense and intriguing environment and setting, talked about how the mixture of existing plotlines and story archetypes created a fresh plot, and Tristan speaks on his skepticism with Synchronic only existing in Louisiana and not anywhere else on in the country. After that, Da Bois do their classical and longest lasting segment, Whatcha Been Watchin', where we all watched stuff that I already forgot about because this was recorded early! To conclude the show, we sadly finished Demon Slayer: Kimestu No Yaiba' season two Entertainment District Arc and we absolutely loved it! We discuss the greatness of the season, announce who the overall MVP was and the MVP ladder/power rankings, and our predictions for the thrid season, because we are anime onlies for this show and have not read the manga, YOU WILL BE BANNED FOR ANY SORT OF SPOILERS ROUND THESE PARTS! It is clear that the energetic essence of EVIL or H.I.M. has grown considerably in the years following the Slender Man stabbing. Movies such as Stickman, Bye Bye Man, and Empty Man, along with television shows like Chestnut Man, depict the influence of this force on children in particular. The movie Antlers, while not focusing on one of the many manifestations of EVIL in popular culture, deals with a mythological creature – Wendigo. The manifestation of this force is present in popular culture and even in professional sports. Climate Pledge Arena, home of the Seattle Kraken, is the new ‘Denver Airport'. Although the facility professes to represent green environmentalism, equality, health, and safety, underneath this facade is a Corporate-Banking-UN agenda plainly laid out on the arena's website. Every arena experience is equivalent to an enormous energetic ritual wherein the arena itself is a tabernacle, altar, or shrine to the Spectre, Hydra, and Cthulhu.

It is clear that the energetic essence of EVIL or H.I.M. has grown considerably in the years following the Slender Man stabbing. Movies such as Stickman, Bye Bye Man, and Empty Man, along with television shows like Chestnut Man, depict the influence of this force on children in particular. In Stickman, a little girl is made to kill her sister. In Bye Bye Man, evil similarly gets into the head and takes control. Chestnut Man deals with an identical force linked to a missing child. Empty Man also includes a missing child, while a synopsis describes the film involving a secret group “attempting to summon a terrifying supernatural entity.” The movie Antlers, while not focusing on one of the many manifestations of EVIL in popular culture, deals with a mythological creature – Wendigo - from the folklore of First Nations people.

The oral history tells the story of actress and model Edie Sedgwick completely through testimony from people that were there, without any interstitial material.  Karen: New World, the Korean crime drama film from Park Hoon-jung that stars Squid Game's Lee Jung-jae. The film features Lee as an undercover cop who is tasked with infiltrating the mob, but ends up caught between two worlds. It also stars a slew of great Korean actors including Hwang Jung-min and Song Ji-hyo.  Steve: First, Netflix's series The Chestnut Man, a dark, taught crime drama which takes place in Copenhagen. Then, a whole genre of YouTube videos taking you from raw audio of rehearsal to mastertape of Elvis's songs, including “And The Grass Won't Pay No Mind”—though, Neil Diamond's version of that one is better. Dan enjoys the continuing lessons of Sex Education, and literally sings the praises of The Chestnut Man. James becomes a Jodie Comer fan after watching Help, and figuratively sings the praises of 28 Up: Millennium Generation. In the rumour and fact mill: Phoebe Waller-Bridge as the new Indiana Jones, and Russians winning the new filmmaking space race. Back in June, we each made our predictions for the UK summer box office top ten. Now it's time to find out who is the winner, while a brutal punishment awaits the loser. The Guilty is Netflix's big film, or it's at least big enough to merit an in-depth review in the absence of big cinema releases.
