Bosch-Chef Stefan Hartung, Vorsitzender der Geschäftsführung der Robert Bosch GmbH, ist zu Gast bei Stefan Braun, Redaktionsleiter des Berlin.Table. Table.Briefings - For better informed decisions.
In Elon Musk's “dark MAGA” there is no truth.—which for historian Jill Lepore creates a fear that everything might collapse because everything is so fragile and so fake, so untrustworthy -- and so -- unreal. For Lepore -- it is a fear created by the “Artificial State.”Back in January of this year – 2026 -- BCR hosts spoke with William Hartung about his political stand-up routine and his recent book “The Trillion Dollar War Machine: How Runaway Military Spending Drives America into Foreign Wars and Bankrupts Us at Hone.”It was a BCR episode in which jokes and world destruction did a cha cha.Hartung is an expert on the US military industrial complex at The Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft. Recently, Bill emailed his Substack readers several articles on Silicon Valley's hard right tilt towards advanced militarism. He had been reading a copy of Jill Lepore's soon-to-be-released book – “The Rise and Fall of the Artificial State.” Bill's email was somewhat scary. It appears that Elon Musk and Peter Thiel and Palmer Luckey have embedded themselves into US government policy-making -- and profiting from dismantling our democracy. Their “firms are enabling genocide and aggression abroad and profiting from repression at home.”I replied to Bill's email and asked if he wanted to meet and talk about what he was finding – his response was immediate: “YES” – all caps with exclamation – “Let's do something, the sooner the better.”Alan Winsonbarcrawlradio@gmail.com Hosted on Acast. In this episode of the Tim Ahlman Podcast, Tim sits down with Dr. Bruce Hartung—former seminary professor, counselor, and expert in family systems—to unpack one of the biggest challenges facing the Church today: polarization, anxiety in leadership, breakdown of empathy, and the subtle ways spiritual warfare is dividing believers.Drawing from decades of experience in pastoral care and leadership development, Dr. Hartung explains why:- Pastors today feel like they have a “target on their back”- Political identity is reshaping theological conversations- “Neural overload” is exhausting our ability to love people well- And why triangulation (gossip) is quietly destroying church unityThis conversation dives deep into family systems theory, anxious leadership, and the call for Christians to become truly countercultural—not just in belief, but in behavior. If you care about the future of the Church, pastoral health, or navigating conflict with wisdom and love—this episode is essential.Support the showWatch Us On Youtube! TRILLION DOLLAR WAR MACHINE - the title of the new book BILL HARTUNG & BEN FREEMAN wrote together - is about a trillion dollar a year machine for waging wars and for creating them. Donald Trump has discovered he likes using it. We spend more than we did in 1985 for a military half the size. Hartung & Freeman talk about a military-lobbyist-newsmedia-entertainment-sports-industrial complex. The tech bro's want in on the gravy train and see AI as their ticket. I assume we don't talk about defense spending because no one expects anything to change. We're about to find out once again how crazy that is. We recorded this conversation 2/26 - one day before the war on Iran. Learn more about Bill & Ben at the Quincy Institute - quincyinst.org/

So z.B. Herzlichst Ihre Claudia Lutschewitz
Last year, the FDA announced it would be phasingout animal testing requirements for some therapies. The NIHfollowed suit. According to Thomas Hartung, professor and chair at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, these policy shifts are an “overdue adaptation to scientific progress.” In this special edition of The Weekly, Hartung discusses howartificial intelligence (AI) and various non-animal models such as human organoids will transform drug development and delivery, especially now that the regulatory side is catching up. The FDA Modernization Act, now making its way through Congress, codifies the FDA's stated goal of starting to move away from animal testing. And in making that announcement last year, the FDA put out a roadmap for how to do this. In May, Hartung will attend the National Biotechnology Conference in San Diego as a keynote speaker. BioSpace is a media partner of the meeting, and Managing Editor Jef Akst will also attend to moderate the executive track. The 2026 National Biotechnology Conference runs May 11–14.You can find the agenda here.

Hosted on Acast. NOTE: This conversation was recorded in November 2024, which is why you'll hear references to the elections and the Biden Administration. This week on The Big Picture, we sit down with military analyst and author William Hartung.Hartung is a senior fellow at the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft, and in 2010 published Prophets of War: Lockheed Martin and the Military Industrial-Complex - a seminal work that examined how military lobby groups shaped public policy, and how White House officials pursued lucrative jobs in the same lobbies that funded their political careers. In 2024 he published a Cost of War report with Brown University, which unpacked the $20 billion of military aid the Biden Administration had given to Israel's government since October 7, the majority of which was then used to purchase weapons from US military companies. We'd love to hear your thoughts on this episode, and any guests you'd like us to have on our show. We're back again today with our Warm Hearts, Warm Homes series, and this time, exploring how food assistance helps create warm, stable homes for our neighbors in need. Food insecurity is a big problem in the United States, as 47 million people—including 14 million children—do not have enough to eat and don't know where their next meal will come from. Beyond that figure, many more people—estimated in the millions by Feeding America—do not meet the government's definition of food insecure but still turn to the charitable sector for support. And in Gillette, Wyoming, that includes The Salvation Army. Jenny Hartung, who leads The Salvation Army's Service Extension Unit in Gillette, has witnessed the evolution of need and Salvation Army assistance over the past decade. What started as a single shelf of emergency food has grown into a 15,000-square-foot facility that's warming both hearts and homes through food assistance, social services, and soon, a bridge housing program for women. Today, Jenny is here to share how The Salvation Army in this small town of some 30,000 people is making a big impact—distributing over 2,000 food boxes every month and showing us all what's possible when a community comes together to care for its neighbors. Seventy-nine years ago, the Truman administration dropped atom bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, instantly killing approximately 100,000 innocent civilians. Host Robert Scheer calls these horrific incidents among the major instances of terror ever committed in human history. Bill Hartung of the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft joins Scheer Intelligence to discuss the history and legacy of nuclear weapons in relation to the military industrial complex, as a $2 trillion effort from the Pentagon to build “a new generation of nuclear-armed missiles, bombers, and submarines” takes place. The central question underlying the conversation is asked by Scheer; “How could they, in good conscience, be talking about modernizing the devil's weapon?” Hartung claims that the Pentagon and arms manufacturers are doing so under the guise of deterrence, but also because of false stories of controllable nuclear war and even the “evil” consideration that it may be necessary to use nuclear weapons on certain populations. “I think some of the folks promoting this stuff would like to believe that they're not putting the future of humanity at risk. So they kind of tell themselves these stories, which they then tell to the public and hope they can persuade them.” In the past, the horror of nuclear war was widely acknowledged to some extent by the public and the political class alike, as even Reagan said a nuclear war could never be won and should never be fought. Hartung claims that the belief that nuclear war could be winnable was previously “pushed off the agenda,” but it “seems to be back.” Despite movies like Oppenheimer, which to some extent injected the issue of nuclear war into public discussion, citizens and the media remain largely uninterested and unaware of the dangers of nuclear war, especially with regard to the war in Ukraine. This is reflected in the opinions of the American political class. Hartung points out that “if you go to Washington, there's this sort of atmosphere that, if you're for reducing these things, you know, you're the one who's unrealistic. The logic is flipped on its head ...”
The Episode was made possible by Immune Intel AHCC® & WeNatalI left the conventional medical model because I was worried about being punished for prioritizing patient autonomy over my institution's liability. I thought that the only way that I could reasonably offer vaginal breech birth support for families in need was in the home. But after I met today's guest, my presumptions were drawn into question. She shares the turning point that led to her embracing the intermittent fasting lifestyle after her weight crept up in her 40s, including unsuccessful attempts with other dieting strategies like Weight Watchers and the 21-day fix program. Inspired by her cousin's Facebook post and armed with resources her cousin shared with her, such as Gin's book Fast. Feast. Repeat., Stefanie began her fasting journey on November 14, 2022.Throughout the conversation, Stefanie highlights the significant emotional and physical changes she has experienced since adopting intermittent fasting as a lifestyle. From experiencing an “appetite reset” that led to a healthier relationship with food, to enjoying softer skin and reduced discomfort from sore lymph nodes and sciatic nerve pain, she enthusiastically describes the multitude of benefits IF has brought to her. The discussion delves deep into the emotional empowerment and sense of life simplification Stefanie has gained, contrasting her life now to the times when other diets left her feeling restricted and less confident.Gin and Stefanie connect over their similar intermittent fasting schedules and the flexibility IF offers, revealing how their eating windows of four and five hours respectively have become a natural part of their lifestyle. They touch on the broader discussions around aging, societal pressures for women, and the balance between looking good and feeling good as they mature. Not shying away from the challenging aspects of intermittent fasting, they share personal insights into past dieting experiences, highlighting the need to pay attention to hunger and satiety cues.Ending the episode with sound advice for newcomers, Stefanie encourages listeners to treat intermittent fasting as an adventure rather than a chore. Emphasizing patience and the importance of tuning into one's body, she reflects on her own fasting journey and how it has led to a more intuitive relationship with food and her well-being.Get Gin's books at: http://www.ginstephens.com/get-the-books.html, including her latest bestseller 28-Day Fast Start Day-By-Day, the Ultimate Guide to Starting (or Restarting) Your Intermittent Fasting Lifestyle so it Sticks, New York Times Bestseller, Fast. Oujia boards over the years have been very controversial. Some people think its a method to speak to the devil while others feel its a way to connect with ancestors. Back in 1100 AD Oujia board were used in healing practices and rituals until scammers got ahold of the ouija board and started lying to people about what the board was saying. After the scammers were exposed people said the board was “Demonic” and no one should use the board. But despite the 50/50 opinions about the ouija board today, people still use it and some even on a daily basis. And 49 year-old Donald Hartung was one of those people. Donald claimed to be a Wiccan and had been practicing witchcraft for 3 years. He also claimed to have a close relationship with his family and visited the family home where his mother and 2 brothers lived, every Tuesday to make them dinner. But on July 28th, 2015 police would be called to the family home after one of the brothers, Richard Hartung, hadn't showed up to work and his co-workers couldn't get ahold of him. When the police entered the home that's when they would find the horrific and bloody scene of the murdered family lying underneath a pile of clothes. Donald was the only family member alive and was brought into questioning. And it wasn't until then, that the police started to slowly uncover Donalds real relationship with the family and the greedy motive for the murders. Learn more about your ad choices.
