"We finally unlocked the potential of the Wichita music ecosystem. People in our community felt support and when they feel supported they grow." - Jessie Hartke "I've never seen a ball of Energy like that. I just want to thank Wichita" - Chase Koch "Social Change, you can say it or you can see it in action." - Adam Hartke The Elsewhere Music Fest exploded in Wichita, Kansas in late June, seemingly out of nowhere. From nowhere, Midtopia co-founders Chase Koch, Adam & Jessie Hartke created Elsewhere. It was a celebration of individual human creativity and potential. With the largest number of local musicians and artists coming together to put on a show for the rest of the world to see, Elsewhere Fest, as Chase put it, "Is not just about the music and the art. It was a Movement. And movements start from the bottom up." Adam and Jessie Hartke have worked and inspired the music scene in Wichita for nearly 20 years. Elsewhere Fest proves what can happen when you perservere and when you ask others to participate in a great idea. The music and art inspired change-- a social change that each individual could feel and take action on so that our lives can collaboratively improve. It was a star studded lineup, (Steve Aoki, Lane 8, Killer Mike, Sultan+Shepard, BadBadNotGood, 2LOT...) and we all felt unified with a freedom to express the best of who we are. And as Killer Mike proclaimed, "This is one of the smartest and most socially conscious festivals I've ever been a part of." This is the power of Elsewhere.

Ready to make a shift from working hard to working smart? Join us for a conversation with Liz Hartke from Luminary Leadership as she shares how she has gained 20+ hours back to her schedule. She and her husband have built a wildly successful business helping entrepreneurs gain more time in their busy schedules. She grew up in a family of entrepreneurs from an early age and learned how time was seen as money but not freedom and this was not the way she wanted to experience her own work/life balance. Her mom made it to all of her activities but after getting the kids to bed at night she would often find her with her briefcase spread across the table, working to catch up on her work. She saw that her parents had flexibility but not freedom in their careers and she knew she wanted a very different life for herself and her family. Liz shares her tips for how to make that shift by planning for growth and that there are seasons of growth. Think about it as the strategy of your life and be proactive about how you approach the big things or leverage the high-value items. Most of us live by our to-do list and as CEOs of our lives, we need to shift to being focused on the business not in the business. Think about what it's worth to you. What are the non-negotiables? Being tied to your purpose and linking everything to that is crucial. Two tips to get time back:Having systems in place personally and with your team such as the Leader morning checklist, removes any decision-making issues, and things that are repetitive and gives to others to complete.Usage of AI – She shares the link for her ebook for you to check out luminaryleadershipco.com/chatgptGreat conversation Liz and thank you for joining us. So often we start a business out of passion or a desire to have more flexibility with our time—and money is a good and often necessary by-product of our hard and fun work. But seeing ourselves as a CEO, for many (myself included), wasn't a role I fully understood I was signing up for when I first registered for that LLC and launched my website. This year, after nearly a decade in business, I'm recognizing my own limiting beliefs and working hard to step up to the plate as CEO. That's why I was beyond thrilled to meet today's guest! After building a successful business in the health and wellness industry, surpassing 7-figures of annual revenue and leading more than 10k people, Liz launched the Luminary leadership Company to help other entrepreneurs feel equipped to step into their roles as leaders.Today we are talking all about why becoming a great leader is so important to a company's growth, how to integrate life and business well, and the positive impact involving your kids in business can have on their lives.WILDFLOWER SHOWNOTES : shannaskidmore.com/elizabeth-hartkeSnag you FREE End of Year Checklist here: https://shannaskidmore.com/yearend

In this episode, I am talking with one of my favorite humans, Liz Hartke. She is an international business and leadership strategist and Founder of the Luminary Leadership Company and Podcast. Liz teaches entrepreneurs to shift from creating a business to creating a legacy. In this conversation, we talk about putting intentionality behind how we raise our kids to have an entrepreneurial spirit.
“Entrepreneurs think that if they shift their energy towards family, that it's all going to fall apart in their business. No, you're going to be aligned. Finally, it's going to feel right. You're going to get into a groove and things are going to start to come to life that you've never even had access to before.” —Elizabeth Hartke, Legacy Leader and Founder of Luminary Leader Co. Many entrepreneurs set their sights on building their dream business in the name of time and financial freedom. Oftentimes, they want to achieve these things in order to spend more time and energy on their loved ones. I'd be willing to bet that this singular motivator is the fuel that drives a significant amount of entrepreneurial pursuits. Elizabeth Hartke knows this is the case and she also knows that there is a better, more holistic way to pursue this entrepreneurial vision. Elizabeth (aka Liz) is a friend, mentor, and client of mine and I am so thrilled that she joined me on this episode of The Legacy Lounge podcast to talk all about vision and leadership. I fell in love with her mission a year and a half when we worked together to co-create her Legacy Brand, Luminary Leadership! She brings a perspective that is completely unique and fresh to the entrepreneurial space, and I am so excited for you to meet her! Liz comes from a long line of entrepreneurs and has more than 10 years of experience in building her own multi-million dollar business and mentoring thousands of others to do the same, all while growing her beautiful family of five. She knows the hardworking business and family lifestyle like no one else. There is truly no one more deserving of respect and admiration when it comes to Liz's vision for her own business and family. Which is why it makes sense that she founded Luminary Leadership Co., a family-oriented business with a focus on helping entrepreneurs build leadership skills so that they can experience success in business and create a legacy at home. That's something most of us include in our vision for our lives, and Liz has the keys to help get us closer to achieving that vision. In this episode, Liz and I sat down to talk all about Legacy, creating an integrated vision for your business and your family, and everything in between. Liz even lets us in on some information about the Rally Cry Call event, Bridging the Gap, that she has been cooking up for fellow entrepreneurs who feel called to operate their personal and professional lives in a more aligned way, but are unsure about how to do that. Here are all the juicy takeaways from this episode on vision with a true Legacy Leader and visionary, Elizabeth Hartke: Understand what it means to act upon your vision, today, like right now! Understand the importance of raising the next generation of leaders and how that can impact your vision for the future Tips on how to include your family in the creation of the vision for your business Why you need to break down the boundaries between your business life and your family life so that you can integrate the two Why you must integrate the needs and goals of your family within your business's needs and goals to experience the next level of success A call to arms in the mission to disrupt entrepreneurship as we know it and build a better business world for the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders There is some powerful conversation and ideas happening in this episode! I invite you to block out 40 minutes of your time to listen in, be inspired, and take some actions! Favorite quotes from this episode: “Entrepreneurs think that if they shift their energy towards family, that it's all going to fall apart in their business. No, you're going to be aligned. Finally, it's going to feel right. You're going to get into a groove and things are going to start to come to life that you've never even had access to before.”—Elizabeth Hartke “I think a lot of people have this vision of Legacy in their head that looks like them in their rocking chair on the front porch when they're 85, looking back on what they've created, instead of realizing that the only way to have the glory of sitting in that rocking chair and being proud of what you've created is determined by how you're living and what you're gifting to the people who matter most and the people you influence today.”—EH “When you decide to step into leadership, there's a lot of selflessness and courageousness that comes from saying, ‘okay, I'm going to choose this path to lead, not just to manage, not just to create, but to ensure that other people are being raised up with me along the way.'”—EH “The work that we did together through creating that Legacy Brand is something that has roots, something that can outlive me, something that can be sold (which is a smart way of thinking when you're in business) or something that someone else can take it and run with it.”—EH “I think it's so necessary to create your brand as a living, breathing thing so that it has the opportunity to evolve and grow.”—EH “We all have these visions of why we started in the first place. And then we put our heads down and we work and we tell ourselves "this is just a season...if I build it, they will come..I just have to keep going." And we're not looking up enough to have that vision, to see that if the journey, the getting there, steamrolls everyone and everything I love, including myself, was the juice really worth the squeeze?”—EH “I want to teach entrepreneurs to leverage the power of small business and entrepreneurship to raise leaders of their own.”—EH “There are all these tools and resources to support the entrepreneur in business. Of course there are plenty of resources to support the parent in parenthood. But there's nothing that speaks to the realities that are just different when you've chosen and said "yes" to running your own business that feeds your family. It's just a different life. It is. End of story. And it's not better. It's just different.”—EH Links Mentioned In This Episode: Sign Up for the Rally Cry Call Learn about the Luminary Leadership Co Follow Liz on Instagram Rate, Review, and Follow! As both parents and entrepreneurs, it might often feel like you are being pulled between two worlds. It might even feel like there is a “this” or “that” option between being a present parent and building a giant or small empire. This week on the show my guest Liz Hartke and I talked about how to reframe parenting and entrepreneurship as two separate worlds and instead create a collaborative journey as a family. Liz is the creator of the Luminary Leadership Co., a company that nurtures not just entrepreneurs but also their families. In this episode we talk about tips to connect the hats of parenting and entrepreneurship together, about schooling and raising leaders. For More Info: https://feelamazingnaked.com/episode183

Change always brings challenges, and I'd say that finding time to make your family a priority is one of the main ones. When you start moving towards a new job or when you start to work really hard for your dreams, it is not always easy to find a balance between what you love doing and the ones you love. In today's episode I'm talking with Elizabeth Hartke, international Business and Leadership Strategist, and Founder of the Luminary Leadership Company and Podcast. She works to help entrepreneurial parents integrate success in business with legacy at home, and believes that you can have both without feeling split in two. It's important to understand that when you are creating a new business, you have to bring your family with you. Involve them in every step and help them understand that you're starting this new venture for their benefit too. You are working for your kids, your family, and like Elizabeth said, “we really want to breathe life into one of the greatest tools you have in your back pocket to raise your kids as leaders and independent thinkers”. Hopefully, with this episode, we will be able to create a balance and harmony between what you love doing, and the ones you love. What you'll get from this episode: Why you need to include your family in your financial journey. What most entrepreneurs get wrong when creating a business and having a family. What are the steps to take to make sure you aren't sacrificing the things that matter. How to bring an attitude of leadership to your children through your business. I've talked a lot on this show about how easy it is for entrepreneurs to fall into the hustle mentality because we see so much rhetoric out there on social media about it. I saw a post the other day saying that entrepreneurs are wanting things handed to them and aren't willing to work for it. That's not what I'm seeing. I'm seeing entrepreneurs who are hustling themselves into an early grave. They are working so hard and may not be seeing results so they think they're not working hard enough and think they have to work even harder. My guest today is Liz Hartke. She's the founder of Luminary Leadership Co and she helps entrepreneurs see beyond the work. Liz helps them see why they do the work and helps them grow, not just as a business operator but as a business owner. “The dream is not really the dream if you have to steamroll all the people you love most in order to achieve it.” IN THIS EPISODE What inspired Liz to help entrepreneurs get off the hustle hamster wheel. The importance of scalability. Combining strategy and leadership. Defining leadership and the qualities of a leader. Why you may be resistant to pause, reflect and go through slow, but needed change. How to create this important habit in your day to day. Why weekly consistency is so powerful. Intentionality and why it's important. Two things to start incorporating: reflection and vision. If you are a mom and an entrepreneur, I guarantee you have struggled with the whole work/life balance at one point or another. We constantly feel torn and guilty in that whatever we are doing, we should be doing the other thing. Special guest Elizabeth Hartke is on the podcast and giving some insight to how she has figured out how to run a business and instill entrepreneurial wisdom into her kids while maintaining a healthy family balance. This Christian Business Podcast episode is a must listen for all the mompreneurs out there. Stop splitting Your Biz and Fam It is a shift of mindset. Our kids need to see the hard work and sacrifice we are making in order to create wealth for the family. Including them in the process is SO important. Yes, we need to have clear boundaries about work time and family time, but our kids also need to see how to build wealth and by doing that, it alleviates a lot of pressure. Find Your True North Sit down as a family and come up with your values and mission. They should directly align with your business values and mission. By having these two aligned, it makes decision making much easier and gives your business and family a consistency that is so important. Make it a Family Affair Let your kids sit on your lap and see what you are working on. Tell them when you are working on something important and how THEY can help. By including them in the process and communicating what needs to be done and why it is important, they are learning what is important and seeing how to build a business. Continually have conversations at the table so they can see the ins and outs of business and why it is important to the family Create White Space If you don't create downtime and white space on your calendar, it isn't going to magically appear. You have to have seasons of rest and unscheduled time. Make it a priority or your kids will start to resent your business. By taking the pressure off of separating your business and your family, you can have more freedom and less guilt! Being aligned with God and having a consistent family and business mission, ensures that every decision you make will be clear and move you forward toward a common goal.
