Episode is part one of my road trip series, where I traveled to lake Havasu, Arizona for the Escapers RV bash. You're listening to the remote work retirement show. I'm your host, Camille Attell. And this is the only show that helps semi retirees figure out the remote work options. I believe the remote work is the new retirement plan and that many retirees have both the ability and desire to work how they want so they can live how they want. Let's dig into today's episode.... Well, welcome and specifically, welcome to my van. I'm inside of a rented travel van, a cargo van, if you will. I want to start the episode by telling you my sound today might be different than it usually is because I'm actually traveling with just a headset and not my high-quality microphone. I did that so that I could travel light. Why don't I back up and give you a little more context. In episode 85, I talked about how I would be traveling and recording this podcast while on the road. And therefore, you know, we've got maybe some sound issues. You might hear some weird scratching noises; I think that's my shirt. And I'm also in a parking lot. I should add I'm outside of a grocery store. It's called Bashes. So, have fun with me while I bring you along with me as I record this episode on the road from my van. It's a free form storytelling time with some educational, up-to-date information about the remote work world or artificial intelligence world today. The London Bridge was sinking into the River Thames and available for purchase when McCulloch decided to buy it. Between dismantling the bridge, transporting it to California, trucking it to Havasu, and then reassembling the bridge, it was an engineering miracle. The bridge was dedicated on October 10, 1971, and remains the second-largest tourist attraction in Arizona, next to the Grand Canyon. If you hate wildlife, water, festivals, events, scenery, and architecture, and if you are really trying to avoid fun, then skip this region of southern Arizona. On this episode of the Last Call, the fellas engage in their first ever full on album review. One week prior to recording the episode, each of the contributors were asked to spend some time with Pedro the Lion's new release, Havasu, and come prepared to Pound, Sip or No Sip to the entire album! The fellas will continue this format off and on for the remainder of the season. This format allows us to engage in deeper and richer conversation about the album and concept, which is how we truly listen to albums! We hope you enjoy! Additionally, there are three more tracks shared that follow our standard procedure. Plenty of new music to discover!
Where does a high school teacher from Jackson Hole go to spend spring break? Cancun? Havasu? Palm Springs? Not Jess Tuchscherer, he layers up, sleeps in the truck, and casts all day hoping to tie into a legendary Lahontan cutthroat in Nevada's Pyramid Lake. This bonafide trout bum and whitetwater guide has been a fishing buddy for many years-he's one of those guys that will share his tent and warm Labrador with you when you under-packed for a river trip. As broadcast January 24, 2022 with plenty of remembrance for your podcast throwback. Tonight to start both halves of the show, we remember two legends. The Father of South African Jazz, Hugh Masekela, passed away January 23, 2018 so we started the show with him and Ojah doing their thing way back in their prime before Masekela went into exile to New York City. Part 3 we started with the big news this past week, which was the passing of Meatloaf aged 74 last Thursday, with a recount of a story when he almost threw Prince Andrew into a moat in 1987, which he probably should have done in hindsight. For tonight, Danno flew 100% solo with Katherin Bass sick, so we had lots of new tunes to give a whirl in both hours, with new joints from Beach House, Khruangbin, Big Thief, and a surprise album drop from Pedro The Lion to discuss as well!#feelthegravityTracklisting:Part I (00:00)Hugh Masekela feat Ojah – Afro Beat BluesBeach House – Only You KnowKAINA – AppleVundabar feat Indigo de Souza – Alien Blues ReduxNilufer Yanya – midnight sunSevdaliza – High Alone Part II (32:45)Khruangbin & Leon Bridges – Chocolate HillsPedro The Lion – Making The Most of ItYeek – Freaky (RGB)The Head & The Heart – Every Shade of BlueBabeheaven feat Navy Blue – Make Me WannaBig Thief – Simulation SwarmDaniel Rossen – Shadow In The Frame Part III (62:47)Meatloaf – I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)AURORA – A Temporary HighConan Gray – JigsawCharlie Puth – Light SwitchGriff x Sigrid – Head On FireYears & Years – Night Call Part IV (94:23)Lana Del Rey – Watercolor EyesHolly Humberstone – London Is LonelyRod Wave – Cold Decemberiann dior ft Travis Barker & Machine Gun Kelly – thought it wasSASAMI – Take CareWaxahatchee – FireHAIM – The Steps

a little OTH PSA, Dylan's trip to Havasu 95 Speedway, Brent's first laps in an A-mod, Joe wants to go racing, and Ryan's a Bears fan.
Live from Havasu, Arizona and in person for the first time ever, the eMilitia (including their spouses and Carey Wedler) records together to celebrate episode 50! Rowdy, drunk, on drugs and as raw as it gets: the gang recounts their exploits hanging out together for the first time ever over a weekend. BR almost kills Guns and his girlfriend during a desert misadventure with an empty tank and mistake a cow's balls and ass for a demon , Gramps (Bootlickers Beware) Uber's between states at 1am and blackpills the FUCK out of his driver, Carey Wedler sunbathing gets the eMilitia harassed by cops with a sobriety test on a boat and Carey reminds Guns of his grandma, Rezzy loses his foot and the gang do shrooms together (allegedly). This conversation is chaos, bear with the nonsense and there's some absolute gems. Also, please refer to Guns as ‘Four gummies' in all future interactions. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/theemilitiapodcast/message

Rock Town correspondent Levi Sebastian guides us through his weekend of skating and camping in “Arizona's playground,” otherwise known as Lake Havazu. Held during the last weekend in February, Blade Havasu included skaters from all over the country (but mostly Arizona). Levi brought home interviews with Andrew Scherf, Ryan Buchanan, Austin Paz, Adam Caroselli, Chad Hornish, Noah Shaw, and many others. The cover photo comes courtesy of Austin Paz and his trusty drone.
